Jeff Jarrett And Karen Jarrett Return To TNA, Global Force Wrestling Working With TNA?

0

– Jeff Jarrett and wife Karen Jarrett appeared on tonight’s TNA Impact Wrestling from Orlando. Jarrett was wearing a Global Force Wrestling t-shirt and acknowledged they are co-founders of the company. It appears there could be some working relationship between the two companies soon.

Jarrett promised to talk more about GFW at a later date but said he was contacted by TNA officials last week to set up a conference call about an offer they had. Jarrett said he was boarding a plane and didn’t even reply at first but got to wondering what they might want. Jarrett said he contacted TNA and they wanted him to come back for a match. Jarrett said he wanted to hang up at that point but they told him they wanted him in his own match – King of the Mountain, at Slammiversary.

Jarrett went on to talk about some highlights from TNA over the years, naming AJ Styles, Kurt Angle, Beer Money, Eric Young and others. Jarrett said he’s put his blood, sweat and tears into GFW and had to really think about how a TNA return would affect the GFW roster and staff. Jarrett got emotional when talking about how his wife would react to returning to TNA. Karen also spoke on the mic and said GFW is their future. At first, she told Jeff not to contact TNA but he laid it out for her and she understood that TNA was still his baby. Karen said she still doesn’t completely understand why they are here but she loves and supports her husband. Karen also said Jeff didn’t leave TNA on his own terms as he was fired in a backstage pre-tape by Sting. She told Jeff that he’s going to leave on his own terms now and will make things right at Slammiversary.

Jeff then declared himself in King of the Mountain. He said he will walk the TNA aisle one last time to climb the ladder and be King of the Mountain. The Jarretts were received well by the TNA fans.

CM Punk UFC Training Update

0

CM Punk’s UFC signing was announced a little under seven months ago, leading to endless inquiries as to when his first fight will be, and debate whether or not the former WWE Champion will even step into the cage. It appears Punk hasn’t backed down from his plan.

On this evening’s UFC Tonight, Ariel Helwani noted that CM Punk has moved from Chicago to Milwaukee in order to be closer to Roufusport, the training center in which he’s belonged to for several months. One of the reasons Punk said he picked the gym was because he wouldn’t have to sacrifice quality for convenience.

The gym has several world-class talents, including former UFC Lightweight Champion Anthony “Showtime” Pettis, former Bellator Welterweight Champion and undefeated fighter Ben Askren, as well as Sergio Pettis, among others.

It’s probably no coincidence that Punk waited until after hockey season to make the move, as he’s a huge Chicago Blackhawks fan, and attended several postseason games. As of now, Punk doesn’t have a fight scheduled, and his coach Duke Roufus has said he’d like Punk to have a full year of training before signing off on one.

Tyson Kidd Undergoes Successful Neck Surgery, Recovery Time

0

As we mentioned earlier, former WWE Tag Team Champion Tyson Kidd was set for neck surgery today. That surgery was successful, and Kidd is now awake following the procedure.

Kidd’s wife Natalya was by his side, and the two were joined by current WWE Tag Team Champion Titus O’Neil. Natalya has been off the road in the weeks since Kidd’s injuries, in order to care for her husband.

The injury occurred during a dark match with new WWE talent Samoa Joe. According to Bret Hart, the two didn’t have much time to go over the match. Kidd sustained a neck injury during a Muscle Buster from Joe, which most believe to be just a freak accident. Bret Hart however, criticized the move and called it reckless.

The neck surgery was similar to the one that Edge, Steve Austin, Rhyno, Lita and Chris Benoit had, in that is was a fusion. The typical recovery time for that injury is well over a year, but usually 14 months. This is a tough break for Kidd, who also sustained a torn ACL a couple years ago. In the last three months, the WWE has lost the Uso Brothers, Cesaro & Kidd and Harper & Rowan from their tag division due to injuries splitting the teams up.

Aerostar vs. The Mack vs. The Moth vs. Cage for an Aztec Medallion.

A crazy match. Too many dives and hurricanranas to count. Mack’s exploder on Cage on the ring apron was a highlight. This was like a video game at points. Aerostar pinned Marty after a dive to pick up the third medallion.

Mil Muertes vs. Drago for Drago’s No. 1 contendership.

Mil Muertes won with the flatliner after dominating much of the match.
