Lucha Underground News: Hernandez’s Status After TNA Appearance, Talents Reportedly Frustrated

0

– We reported last night that Lucha Underground star Hernandez returned to TNA Wrestling last night at the Impact tapings. Hernandez pulled a bit of a “Rick Rude,” as he appeared on both Impact and Lucha Underground broadcasts.

It’s believed that Hernandez gained his release from the company, and that he had felt there was a breach in the deal. As we said last night, Wrestling Observer Newsletter had reported that BDC leader MVP had been trying to recruit Hernandez of late to fill Samoa Joe’s role.

Hernandez has also taped several episodes of Lucha Underground, that will likely continue airing through August. We’ll be seeing him appearing on both shows on and off until that point. Hernandez had also been working for All Elite in Mexico, which is competition to AAA in Mexico.

– Another issue for Lucha Underground has been that many of their talents are frustrated with the company, according to Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Many talents have been asking about a second season for months and haven’t received any word. When we spoke to King Cuerno last month, he confirmed the news to us.

Many of the talents don’t want to book shows at a certain point on the off-chance that the second season is announced and they have to do those tapings.

Low Ki Announces Departure From TNA

TNA talent and X-Division wrestler Low Ki has decided to leave TNA Wrestling. He wished the company the best of luck in a tweet where he made his announcement.

Low Ki made his last appearance on Wednesay’s Impact, losing to Tigre Uno. Shortly after, new BDC member Hernandez made his debut. Former BDC member Samoa Joe also left TNA earlier this year, causing a revolving door in the stable.

This is Low Ki’s fourth stint with TNA, as he wrestled for the company from 2002 to 2004 before leaving. He returned in 2006 as Senshi until 2008. He also had a brief appearance in 2011 before returning in April of 2014. He also was released from WWE in 2010.

We’ll have more on Low Ki’s exit from TNA as news comes in. You can see his tweet about the matter below.

I have decided to part ways with @IMPACTWRESTLING. My very best to them in their future. Thank you to all the fans who joined the adventure.

Daniel Bryan Injury Update: Injury Specifics, Why WWE Decided To Keep It Quiet

0

Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

Rumors have swirled about the specifics and severity of Daniel Bryan’s injury since the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion was removed from WWE’s European tour in April. Now, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has uncovered some information about the situation.

Meltzer reports that the word they received from the start is that Bryan is suffering from concussion-related injuries, and the WWE fears that it could be career ending. It was said that the problems stemmed from a match with Sheamus just after WrestleMania 31.

According to the report, WWE has chosen to keep the specifics of the injury quiet because of the concussion-related lawsuits filed, and the fact that Bryan continued working shows while suffering symptoms.

Meltzer mentioned on an episode of Wrestling Observer Radio las week that Bret Hart’s recent interview with Sports Illustrated gave away the secret WWE had been trying to keep. Hart said that Bryan would never wrestle again, and compared his injury to the one he sustained at the hands of Goldberg that ended his career.

WWE Creative Frustration, Possible Invasion Angle In TNA, More Notes On Jeff Jarrett Returning

0

– The Wrestling Observer Newsletter notes that one WWE writer expressed frustration to them this past week over how the company is constantly booking itself into corners, rarely giving the much-needed consistent wins or positive momentum that talents need.

– Dave Meltzer speculated on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio that Jeff Jarrett’s TNA return could include a Hall of Fame induction. We noted before that they tried to get AJ Styles for this year’s induction but he turned them down.

Jarrett’s return at last night’s Impact Wrestling was obviously kept a big secret. There was no mention of his return in the script and no indication that a big segment would be happening. When WWE has a big surprise like that planned, they leave a gap in their scripts for 10 minutes or however long the segment is going to run. TNA’s script had no blank gaps for the Jarrett segment and had actual content written that had to be edited out.

Jarrett is expected to be around TNA a lot more after this Sunday’s King of the Mountain match at the Slammiversary pay-per-view. There’s a feeling within TNA that some sort of GFW invasion angle may be in the works but that’s nothing confirmed, just a feeling backstage last night.

– The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Erick Rowan’s injury suffered on July 19th in the live event match with Cesaro is a torn biceps and he will be out of action for four months but if he chooses to undergo surgery, he will be out longer.

– WWE has offered contracts to Pro Wrestling NOAH talents “The Mighty Don’t Kneel” Mikey Nicholls and Shane Haste after the duo impressed at the recent tryouts camp at the Performance Center in Orlando. The two are just waiting for visa paperwork to process and medical testing to be done. These deals usually take several weeks after decisions are made but Nicholls and Haste, who is suffering from a knee injury, should be signed soon.
