More On Creative Changes To This Past Monday’s Raw

0

Source: PWInsider Elite

As noted, Daniel Bryan vs. Batista was in one of the original scripts for Monday’s RAW from Albany. As of Sunday afternoon before Extreme Rules, that match was still being planned.

There were a lot of big edits to the RAW scripts this week. There were also a bunch of different versions of angles they wanted to do with The Wyatt Family and The Shield.

One original idea was to go with a Bray Wyatt vs. Roman Reigns singles match for the main event but obviously they went with the six-man match instead.

HBK Reveals When The Decision To End The Streak Was Made

0

Shawn Michaels and Jim Ross had a lengthy discussion about The Undertaker and The Streak during HBK’s new interview on The Ross Report.
Michaels told Ross that the decision to end The Streak was made just four hours before WrestleMania XXX began. Ross added that he spoke to Taker in New Orleans and asked how many matches he has left. Taker told Ross he would know in a few hours, meaning after the match with Brock Lesnar.

HBK said Taker told him that he would contact Michaels a few weeks after WrestleMania and update him on his health and future. HBK said he does know that Taker was very banged up after the match.

Michaels also talked about how it was Vince McMahon’s decision. Shawn was confident that Vince had a good reason, in his mind, for ending The Streak.

Swagger slams Ziggler on his face. Swagger with another big slam. Swagger with another. Ziggler finally fights up and out. More back and forth. Swagger brings it back in for a 2 count. Swagger keeps control of Ziggler and works on the arm. Swagger sends Ziggler back out of the ring and we go to commercials.

They come back with Swagger still in control. Ziggler makes a comeback and splashes Swagger. Ziggler with a splash in the corner and right hands. Ziggler with a neckbreaker. More back and forth. Swagger goes for the Patriot Lock but it’s blocked. Ziggler with the Fame-asser for a close 2 count. Swagger catches Ziggler in a big slam for 2. Swagger jumps onto boots. Ziggler with a big DDT. Music hits and out comes the Rosebuds. Adam Rose is out next. They party down to ringside and around the ring. Adam crawls on the announcers table and taunts Zeb. Rose stands on the announcers table and tells Swagger it’s party time all the time. He tells Swagger to be a Rosebud, not a lemon. Ziggler hits a Zig Zag from behind for the win.

Winner: Dolph Ziggler

– After the match, Rose stops Ziggler from leaving the ring. The Rosebuds get Ziggler to join in on the party and he dances around with them.

– After the match, Cody and Goldust celebrate together in the ring.

– Still to come, John Cena will speak. Back to Network promos.

– Back from the break and out comes John Cena. We see footage from Extreme Rules.

Cena says Bray Wyatt is interesting. Cena says if fans want to follow the buzzards, he can’t stop them. He says if they all want to go and join The Wyatt Family, he has to let them go. Cena says but when you follow the buzzards, what are you actually following? Cena asks the fans what is it they believe in when it comes to The Wyatts. Cena sings “whole world in his hands” and asks if it’s that. Cena picks up a sheep mask and wonders if it’s the mask. Cena shows us a clip from Bray’s promo on RAW last night. Cena asks what the fans believe in. He says he believes in “never give up.” He’s John Cena, not a God but a man. A man who still believes in respect, honor and hard work. Cena’s message is clear as day – no matter what the fight, how tough the odds, you never give up. Cena says he also understands he may have to fight Bray alone but he was raised to fight for what he believes in. Cena says the competition may change, the color of his shirt may change, the WWE Universe itself might change but his resolve and his message does not. Cena says you never give up. He pulls out a towel with “never give up” on it and says again that’s his message and that’s what he believes in. Cena’s music hits and that’s it for Main Event.

Terri Runnels Discusses Goldust, Owen Hart, Vince McMahon, More

0

Former WWE and WCW personality Terri Runnels recently did an “Ask Me Anything” chat on Reddit. Below are some highlights:

Being in the PMS stable and doing the miscarriage angle:
“HATED the name PMS, HATED, HATED that cheap angle!!! That was a Vince Russo special that I begged him to change…Vince McMahon sided with Russo on that one! CHEAP and not effective!”

Her favorite Owen Hart story:
“Dustin and I always went over to Harley and BJ Race’s home to have his award winning chili. The night before the PPV we went over and Owen and I think Mick Foley came too. Harley had made a literal VAT of chili and he was very proud and protective of his bathtub full of red heaven! When Harley wasn’t looking Owen went to change the ratio of hot sauce to chili and accidentally (I really don’t think he meant to drop the whole bottle in the chili…maybe he did) added an entire bottle of hell’s whispers to the blue ribbon pot! Needless to say when Harley realized it and when he finally caught Owen off guard the next day he USED his stun gun on Owen until tears where coming out of Owen’s eyes! I really miss Owen! :(”

Her favorite Ray Traylor story:
“Oh Dear Lord…there are just SO many and most take too long! I will tell you that Ray legitimately got us LOST in a parking garage for 15 minutes! Not saying what plant from God’s GREEN EARTH he might have enjoyed prior to…just saying I actually starting Fussin’ at him. For all of you NON Southerners…that would mean I was audibly complaining! :D”

How many behind the scenes romances were there with Superstars and Divas?
“Can’t tell you now but it certainly seems like it is occurring some more now than in the ATTITUDE ERA! Lots of KayFabe Lovin back in the day!”

Did WWE want her to expose her chest when The Kat did?
“I showed what I wanted to where my boobs were concerned. I enjoyed the introduction and perfection of the underboob! Always made some countries a little nervous. :D”

Getting put through a table by The Dudleys:
“LOVED being the first woman to be put through the table with the Dudleys. Vince was VERY nervous and threatened Bubba if he hurt me! I asked for the table NOT to be gimmicked…and my only regret is that Bubba was scared he would hurt me and he protected me too much! I wanted more of that table! TRUE!”

Who she wanted to work more with:
“I would love to have done more with Steve Austin. We always had fun whenever we had “stuff” to do. He is not the “manage needy type” if ya know what I mean! 😀 Still liked working with him. Loved working with Edge and would have liked more and also Test. I would have had fun with Kevin Nash too!”

Taking a stinkface from Rikishi:
“Funny story…Junior said “Girl, I am extra fresh and clean for you!”…and so he was! Who woulda thunk it right!?! If you ever really pay attention…most people don’t “take” his finish…I saw it as a respect thing and took it as best I could. He could have made it brutal for me and didn’t…so happy we have been good friends for over 25 years! We go way back to NWA WCW days at Center Stage in ATL…them wuz tha dayz! :D”

What’s the nicest thing Vince McMahon ever did for her?
“Let me sign a contract to only work TV’s and PPV’s so I could be at home with Dakota! :)”

Her current relationship with Goldust:
“Always massive respect and love based on the fact that we have a daughter together. Sometimes I wish his current wife would be comfortable in the fact that he is all hers where the husband/wife thing is concerned. We have co-parented and communicated since 1999 w/o any major troubles. I think there might be a bit of a short leash there. That is his choice and he has to live with it. What matters is that we communicate for Dakota. We used to have a lot more fun and laughs though…I have to say that is a bit disappointing now that I think of it. :(”

Will she ever write a tell-all book?
“Nope, I like my friends and don’t think it’s nice to do that to them. I think people should have a choice if they want to tell provocative things about themselves…shouldn’t be in the hand of others.”

Does she see herself in the WWE Hall of Fame?
“I sincerely believe there are SO many deserving older wrestlers that should be given the honor before me.”

What was planned for her storyline with Brian Pillman before his death:
“I was going to leave Dustin instead of finishing out the renewal of our vows after Brian “had” me for 30 days. Dustin was going to turn face and I would have become more of a heel.”

WWE News: Original Plans for Raw, Who played Little Johnny?, Kurt Angle, More

0

– The kid who played Little Johnny at WWE Extreme Rules was the son of Jamison Winger, who used to be a regular on WWE TV in the late 1980’s and the early 1990’s. Jameson also co-hosted the short-lived Bobby Heenan show on the USA Network.

– The original script for last night’s WWE RAW had Batista vs. Daniel Bryan. That was changed Monday afternoon and they went with Alberto Del Rio as Bryan’s opponent. Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that another script had Batista losing to Roman Reigns. There was also one edit that saw Evolution appear at ringside as timekeepers for The Wyatt Family vs. The Shield but that was nixed.

– It was reported back in December 2013 that WWE had given Heath Slater some time off to deal with a personal issue. Mick Foley revealed in a new tweet that he wanted 3MB to portray Cactus Jack, Dude Love and Mankind last December but a Slater back injury stopped it from happening.

– Kurt Angle has signed on for a lead role in a pilot for a drama titled “Emergency: LA.” Angle would be playing LAPD Sgt. Gabe Mandell. Former WWE and TNA star Katarina Waters (Katie Lea, Winter) also has a role in the pilot.
The pilot will be filmed shortly and then shopped to networks to be potentially picked up. Former UK wrestling promoter Len Davies is writing, directing and producing.

The description of the pilot reads like this: “Emergency: LA revolves around the Fictional Emergency services based out of Station 77 of the LA City Fire Department, Downtown LA district of the LAPD and the Emergency Hospital treatment center Trauma One. The series will focus on the day to day activities, rescues, investigations and treatments, that take place in the respective environments as well as the personal lives of the characters that inhabit them.”

Wrestler Gets Major Heat At Extreme Rules

0

– 30 new episodes of ECW Hardcore TV were added to the WWE Network this week.

– Short Sleeve Sampson, who played Jerry Smaller on the WWE Extreme Rules pre-show, reportedly had major heat on him for posting a photo of himself from before the show. The photo showed John Cena, Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan in the background going over their match. Sampson quickly removed the photo, but it is floating around on social media, as seen below:

Mick Foley Warns WWE On Atrocious Booking Of Daniel Bryan

0

Mick Foley tweeted the following during last night’s RAW about the Kane vs. Daniel Bryan storyline:

“I hope @WWE treads VERY carefully with this @WWEDanielBryan situation.Feels eerily similar to the story that derailed @ZackRyder’s career.”

He wrote more on Facebook later on:

Whether Daniel Bryan – WWE Universe knows it or not, NOW is the time that the fiercest fighting takes place for a WWE champion – and it has nothing to do with the action in the ring. Now is the time to step up and shoot down horrible ideas that can derail even the most promising of ideas. I used to joke that Daniel was the exception to the rule that every top guy in WWE has been perceived at one time or another as a pain in the neck – largely for their willingness to step up and call the creative team out on bad ideas when they see them. That thing I saw tonight – that thing with Daniel and Brie Bella – WWE Universe and the car? That was a bad idea – one that never should have seen the light of day.

I have said on several occasions that I used up my ammo when it came to complaining about WWE storylines when I went to bat for the #YesMovement in the aftermath of the Royal Rumble. I’m going to do my very best to do just that. But I’ll first ask everyone involved – Daniel, Brie, Hunter, Steph, Vince, etc., to take a good look at the nearly identical storyline that ran Zack Ryder’s promising career off the rails…and do everything they can to avoid that same horrible stretch of track.
