Alberto Del Rio appeared with AAA officials and wrestlers for a Ring & Rockstars 3 press conference today at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya to promote a September 14th event at the venue. This will be Del Rio’s official AAA return. He will team with La Parka and Myzteziz (the former Sin Cara) to face Texano Jr., Averno and El Hijo del Perro Arguayo.

Del Rio reportedly got the non-compete clause that WWE was trying to enforce thrown out. Here is a translated quote, courtesy of SuperLuchas.net:

“It is unconstitutional that you can not work … thanks to lawyers and support of AAA, I can fight without any problems.”

Jake Roberts Taken Off Ventilator Earlier Than Expected, Able To Speak

0

Sinn Bodhi posted the following update on Jake Roberts on Tuesday evening:

“UPDATE on Jake The Snake Roberts: Great news!… Docs took Jake off ventilator way earlier then expected! He is kicking ass on his spirometer breathing tests…If he keeps up this pace he will not need to go back on Ventilator so everyone please cross your fingers! Jake finally can speak for the first time since last Wed… Late last night (while still ventilated & unable to speak) one of the male nurses took a bandage off of Jake’s neck where they have tubes for his meds… It was so unpleasant to Jake he wrote on the pad they gave him three letters… DDT… Even though Jake is off of the ventilator for the time being he will be monitored for 24-48 hours before docs decide if it is safe to keep him off. Once Jake could speak he wanted steak, milkshakes, eggs & donuts… He is only allowed to get his nutrients intravenously for the time being… Jake even joked that he would do anything for a donut if he had to… The nurses still said no donuts to which Jake replied with his favorite gesture I think he was trying to say ‘you’re #1’ but I could be wrong?!… One of Jake’s sons flew in to help out but Jake insisted I show him a good time while he rests tonight… Soooo. Zombie Burlesque, here we come! ?#?GetBetterJake?”

WWE announced the following:

JERRY SPRINGER INTERVENTION WITH THE BELLA TWINS

The Bella Twins are about to get some family management advice from a third-party.

Jerry Springer has been confirmed to moderate a discussion between the estranged “Total Divas” stars on the season premiere of Monday Night Raw in Baltimore on Sept. 8. The Bellas, as the WWE Universe knows, have been at vicious odds since Nikki turned on her twin sister Brie at SummerSlam. Recent weeks have seen Nikki demean her sister at every turn and go so far as to slander her reputation in “Growing Up Bella” vignettes that exposed Brie’s alleged childhood secrets.

Of course, nobody does family dysfunction like Springer, but will he be able to bridge the divide between the warring sisters? Find out next week at 8/7 CT, only on USA Network.

– Michael Sam, the first openly gay NFL draftee, may not be appearing on next week’s WWE RAW, even if he wanted to accept the invite, as he’s expected to sign with the Dallas Cowboys this week. Sam has not responded to WWE’s invite yet. His invite is currently the top story on WWE’s website.

WWE has removed all references about their invite to Michael Sam from their website and YouTube channel. The WWE.com article about Sam as well as Stephanie McMahon’s open letter to Sam now redirect to the RAW home page. As noted earlier, Sam, who is the first openly gay NFL draftee, is expected to join the Dallas Cowboys practice squad this week.

Batista is Chris Jericho’s guest on the latest episode of the Talk Is Jericho podcast.

“I miss it and I love it,” Batista said. “They need to work with me on creative stuff, man. I’d like to have more creative control, because some of this stuff… it’s like they argue with you just to argue with you when they know that this is the route we should be going. Then we end up going that route anyway, but it’s usually like three weeks too late.”
