– Rey Mysterio has reportedly received death threats in Mexico due to the tragic passing of Perro Aguayo Jr. at a CRASH wrestling event in Tijuana on Friday night. Due to the in-ring accident, Mysterio was the single most-searched term on the Internet for Saturday.
– WWE SmackDown in Canada will air on Thursday instead of Wednesday this week due to WrestleMania 31 week. As noted, this week’s SmackDown will be made up of a few matches filmed at Monday’s RAW and footage from WrestleMania 31 Axxess in San Jose. Most of the WWE crews will arrive in the Santa Clara area on Tuesday morning after RAW.
– Sheamus, who is expected to return to WWE TV at WrestleMania 31, had a big crowd at a Wizard World signing in Winnipeg this weekend. He also stayed late to meet fans who were still waiting in line after the signing had ended. Below are a few photos from Twitter:

This morning, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon publicly reacted to “Wrestling Isn’t Wrestling,” a 24-minute “somewhat-mostly-accurate educational” parody film on Triple H by screenwriter and director Max Landis.
Landis was elated to receive their approval on the film. He posted the following in the “SquaredCircle” section on Reddit: “Triple H AND Stephanie tweeted me.
“I mean I’d been told something was coming but I never imagined they’d do it publicly. It’s a bizarre feeling, I have no real idea how to react.
“I’m not quite marking I’m just stunned. I’m too shocked to mark. I feel really happy but also just sort of dazed.
“When you make a tribute to someone’s art and they respond directly, it’s a bizarre, almost invasive feeling. I’m left feeling almost kind of exposed, you know? “I made a twenty minute short film about you.” “Yes, thank you, it’s awesome.” “WHAT YOU SAW IT WHAT THE f–k NO THAT WAS MY PRIVATE TWENTY MINUTE SHORT FILM ABOUT YOU”

Landis clarified that the film is about the Triple H character, and not Paul Levesque.
“It’s about the character. He IS one of the all time greats. But what “greatness” means in wrestling isn’t…you know, what you think it means,” he wrote.
– In an update on WrestleMania 31 weather, forecasts for WrestleMania Sunday are now available and The Weather Channel is calling for a high of 79, a low of 54, partly cloudy and a 0% chance of rain.
– Ring of Honor veteran Jimmy Jacobs worked indie events for AIW in Ohio and AAW in Illinois this weekend. He wrestled in farewell matches and gave a farewell speech after Friday’s AIW event in Cleveland. As noted, Jacobs is heading to WWE for a job with the creative team, likely starting with NXT.
– The Rock has done a lot of media for Fast 7 this past week and one of the hot topics with non-wrestling media was his Rock Bottom to actor Jason Statham in a fight scene. Rock tweeted the following on the scene today:

ESPN Deportes in Mexico reports that Mexican wrestling legend Perro Aguayo still has not been informed of his son’s tragic death because he is not in good health and there is concern over how he will take the news.
As noted, Lucha Libre star Hijo del Perro Aguayo passed away after an accident during a match in Tijuana, Mexico on Friday night after a spot with Rey Mysterio. TNA stars Manik and Tigre Uno were also in the match. Aguayo was rushed to a hospital about a block away and then pronounced dead at around 1am local time. His cause of death was reported as a stroke caused by cervical spinal damage and the medical report says he suffered from whiplash, according to MedioTempio.com.
ESPN Deportes also reports that Ignacio Delgado, owner of the indie company CRASH that was promoting the match, said at a press conference that the company will cover all funeral expenses. It sounded like the promotion is doing what it can for Aguayo’s family and the funeral will be held in Guadalajara.

Just one night after Hijo del Perro Aguayo (Perry Aguayo Jr.) passed away after an accident at a CRASH indie event in Mexico on Friday night, Konnan, who was one of the first to tend to Aguayo Jr. after the in-ring spot with Rey Mysterio, was present for last night’s AAA Lucha Underground tapings in California. There was a ceremony done for Aguayo Jr. and it was described as “very sad” by Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Lucha Underground officials informed the press that talents would not be available for interviews this weekend and won’t be available until the next tapings because the talents were too upset to talk.
There were tributes for Perro done at several Mexican promotions last night and it’s expected we will see some form of tribute at the indie events during WrestleMania 31 weekend in California. There has been no mention of the passing by WWE yet.
Aguayo’s funeral is being held today in Guadalajara.
As noted, top Lucha Libra star Hijo del Perro Aguayo passed away after an accident during a tag match for the CRASH promotion in Tijuana, Mexico last night. The match also featured Rey Mysterio, Tigre Uno and Manik. Shortly after a spot in the ring with Mysterio, Aguayo was rushed to a hospital just a block away but was pronounced dead at around 1am local time.
The cause of death for Aguayo was a stroke caused by cervical spinal damage, according to MedioTiempo.com. The medical report says he suffered from whiplash.
They also noted that the doctor in charge of the CRASH event was busy treating two other wrestlers backstage which is why he wasn’t at ringside when the accident with Aguayo happened. The doctor defended the delay in responding to Aguayo, saying it was not malpractice.
Medio Tiempo also noted that Aguayo was carried away from the ring on a piece of plywood as a way to get him backstage as fast as possible. He was then moved to a stretcher and into the ambulance. The doctor also defended that decision.
Once Aguayo arrived at the hospital, Dr. Ernesto Franco and other specialists tried to resuscitate Aguayo for about an hour. He was then given a MRI to rule out other causes and his death was pronounced.

As noted earlier, top AAA wrestler Pedro Aguayo Ramírez, who wrestled as El Hijo del Perro Aguayo and Perro Aguayo Jr., died early this morning after an accident during a match in Tijuana, Mexico last night. The match was for the CRASH Lucha Libre independent promotion, and featured Ramírez teaming withManikagainst Extreme Tiger (Tigre Uno) andRey Mysterio.
During the match, Ramírez took a spinning head scissors from Mysterio that sent him outside of the ring. Ramírez immediately got back in the ring and took a dropkick from Mysterio to setup the 619. The initial cause of death appears to be a snapped vertebrae from how his head landed on the ropes.
Manik was then positioned on the ropes next to Ramírez for a double 619. As seen in the video below, Mysterio went to hit the move and missed Ramírez, who remained on the second rope slumped over. Manik went to check on Ramírez before being taken outside of the ring by Tiger. Mysterio then attended to Ramírez and quickly finished the match, while Konnantried to revive Ramírez. EMTs attended to Ramírez after the match while Mysterio addressed the crowd.
“When we get into the ring, we give ourselves and our best to our public. A real accident happened,” Mysterio said. “…I ask you with my heart for a prayer that God protect him.”
Ramírez was transported to a nearby hospital and was pronounced dead around 1:00 AM local time.
As El Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Ramírez was the top heel in AAA and the leader of the revolutionary Los Perros del Mal stable. He had recentlyheadlined last Wednesday’s AAA Reyes del Reyesevent, where he teamed with Pentagon Jr. against Rey Mysterio Jr & Myzteziz. Myzteziz posted video of the match on his YouTube channel, which is below.
