– WWE officials asked several stars to cut their speeches short on Saturday night at the 2015 Hall of Fame ceremony, including Kevin Nash, Shawn Michaels and Ric Flair.

– Officials were not pleased with this year’s ceremony overall as they felt the show ran way too long and it wasn’t exciting enough. They were said to have loved The Bushwhackers speech, with the feeling it was a perfect mix of their characters and telling old stories. However, they were not happy with Madusa’s use of adult language and some weren’t happy with how she put over Eric Bischoff.

– Regarding Shawn Michaels, he tore up his prepared speech and was going off the cuff when he inducted Nash. WWE officials weren’t happy with Shawn’s use of the words “strap” and “wrestler” in his speech.

– Regarding Hideo Itami getting the spot in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 31, that was a late decision as Finn Balor or Adrian Neville were scheduled to be in the match. Once the Battle Royal was moved to the Kickoff Ore-show, the decision was made to use Itami as a way to tie into Tatsumi Fujinami’s Hall of Fame induction as there were a lot of Japanese media in town.

– As noted, Vince McMahon attended his first WWE NXT live event in San Jose this past Friday night. Vince was said to be very high on Charlotte after seeing her match with NXT Women’s Champion Sasha Banks. There had been talk of bringing Charlotte to the main roster but that talk multiplied once Vince saw her work. Vince also requested that Charlotte be featured more in the new Tapout commercials.

Vince also reportedly loved the work that Banks did at the NXT live event on Friday.

WWE Issues Statement On Brock Lesnar ‘Blade Job’ Speculation From WrestleMania 31

0

Earlier today there was an animated GIF from the main event of WrestleMania 31 floating around where it appeared the referee passed a blade to Roman Reigns, presumably so Reigns could pass it off to Brock Lesnar. It then appeared Lesnar did a “blade job” and cut himself open when they did the ring post spot.

WWE issued us the following statement on the “blade job” speculation tonight:

“WWE programming is TV-PG and we don’t permit intentional bleeding. The communication or contact between our performers and referees is part of our safety protocol. That said, unintentional blood sometimes occurs, and we do our best to minimize.”
