As noted, WWE NXT Superstar CJ Parker has left the company after being granted his release. The split was amicable as WWE allowed Parker to work WrestleMania 31 Axxess.

Parker was reportedly very frustrated as he had been with WWE for four years and realized he wasn’t going to make it to the main roster.

When Parker left, he was apparently told by WWE officials that he would be welcomed back in the future. Parker was said to be well-liked in the company and was saying his goodbyes at the post-WrestleMania party on Sunday night.

Parker is looking to get a job with New Japan Pro Wrestling in hopes of making a name for himself and is focused on continuing his career.

Sami Zayn hits the ramp and takes in a warm welcome. He talks about how Kevin Owens betrayed him and the fans start chanting, “Kick his ass! Kick his ass!” Sami says he plans to do just that. He exits the ring, the announce team runs down some of tonight’s coming attractions and then Rhino comes out.

Rhyno vs. Unnamed Opponent

WWE doesn’t like to give too much press to jobbers, so we’ll call this guy “Unnamed Opponent.” Now that the introductions are over, let’s discuss all of the in-ring action: Rhyno wins with a gore. The end.
Result: Rhino defeats Unnamed Opponent via pinfall.

After the match, Rhyno takes the mic and says he’s coming after everyone in NXT.

Commercials roll and then we get a review of the Finn Balor/Kevin Owens match. There’s also a backstage promo from Owens in which he says that the fact that he won the match is the only thing that’s important.

Bayley vs. Emma

After the bell, Emma makes it seem like this is a good-natured match but Bayley is still peeved that the saucy Aussie slapped her. They lock up briefly, break and then go at it again. Bayley gets Emma around the waist but Emma works it into a grappling situation. Bayley gets fired up and takes Emma down off the ropes. They go at it some more and Bayley rolls her up for a near fall. When Emma gets out, she levels Bayley with a clothesline. Emma talks some smack and it seems like she’s trying to get her opponent worked up. She stays on top of bayley who tires to fire back, ultimately getting some momentum. Emma dodges a big hit and applies the Emma Lock, followed by an Emmamite Sandwich. Bayley kicks out of the ensuing pinfall and rolls up Emma quickly for the win.
Result: Bayley defeats Emma via pinfall.

Awkwardness follows the bell as the ladies kinda, sorta make nice. But not really.

Backstage, Becky Lynch says she’s ready for action. Then some more commercials for the WWE Network by the WWE Network. By coincidence, WWE NXT also airs on the WWE Network.

Lucha Dragons vs. Blake and Murphy

Kalisto starts out against Blake. The height differential is a nonissue because Kalisto can jump really, really high. Kalisto dumps Blake outside and Sin Cara goes after him with a dive. Blake comes over to help and Kalisto takes them both out. Sin Cara is now legal and he stays in against Blake for a bit and then Kalisto comes back in. They hit the mat for some grappling and Blake stays on top of things for a decent stretch. He eventually brings Murphy in and Kalisto remains on the receiving end of things for a while. Once Sin Cara makes it in, he gets busy pretty quickly but can’t put Murphy down for anything more than a near fall. Some double-teaming finally puts the luchador down for the count.
Result: Blake and Murphy defeat Lucha Dragons.

Backstage, Sami Zayn gets ready to speak a bit on his title aspirations and he’s interrupted by Rhino who doesn’t care one bit.

Jason Jordan vs. Tye Dillinger

There’s a bit of back and forth but Jason Jordan gets on top quickly. He slams Tye down and works him over. Surprisingly, Dillinger kicks out of the pin. Jordan talks smack but Dillinger mounts a comeback. He nails Jordan with a chop and puts him down with a side leg sweep. Then they move to the corner where Tye tries to double down but Jordan tosses him up and into the turnbuckle. After one more power move, Jordan covers for the win.

Result: Jason Jordan defeats Tye Dillinger via pinfall.

Here comes the main event…

Hideo Itami vs. Tyler Breeze (2 out of 3 falls)

They lock up quickly as the crowd seems like they’re really into it. The crowd is really into it with a verbal contingent chanting “Breeze is ratchet!” Hideo gets on top quickly and puts Breeze down with a huge dropkick to get the first pinfall.

Fall #1: Hideo Itami wins via pinfall.

The second fall begins and Breeze plays possum in the corner as the ref holds Itami back. He then rears at Hideo and lands the beauty shot, earning the pinfall victory.

Fall #2: Tyler Breeze wins via pinfall.

Breeze has control as the third fall starts. He works Hideo over and puts him down for some mat work. Hideo gets out of it and comes off the ropes but runs into a dropkick. Breeze stomps Hideo good and covers but Itami kicks out. They stay on the mat with Tyler in control. Hideo comes back and gets some offense going but he’s a little wobbly. Still, he hits Breeze with move after move to keep the scales tipped in his favor. Breeze tries to put Hideo down with a cradle but he doesn’t get the pin. A flurry of pinfalls on both sides follow. Breeze tries to end it with the Supermodel Kick but Itami stays alive. They slug it out and Itami peppers him with kicks but misses with the running corner dropkick. Breese misses with the Beatuy Shot and Itami comments with a corner dropkick. Out of nowhere, Tyler connects with a Beauty Shot off the ropes and covers Itami for the three-count.

Fall #3: Tyler Breeze wins via pinfall. He wins the contest with 2 out of 3 falls.

Big Ryck shows up in Dario Cueto’s office smoking a cigar. He introduces The Mack and Killshot, and says heard that Cueto put out the hit on him weeks ago. Cueto appeases him by entering the three in the tournament for the new Trios Championship, and paying them all off.

Angelico vs. Johnny Mundo

Angelico keeps evading and showing up Mundo. The two trade reversals and square off, with Mundo getting visibly frustrated. The two avoid each other’s dives, but Mundo hits an awesome parkour kick, and gets two back in the ring.

Mundo gains control and hits a couple of knees, but can’t get the pinfall. The two go back and forth trying to get pins until Angelico finally hits a double foot stomp that gets a two count.

Angelico hits a series of kicks, but he can’t put Johnny Mundo away. Mundo comes back with a springboard kick, but misses Starship Pain and catches a knee to the face. Angelico follows up with a crucifix bomb into the corner, but Mundo gets his foot underneath the rope.

Mundo gets out of another crucifix bomb, but eats a kick while on the top rope. Mundo counters a top rope huracanrana with a powerbomb and hits Starship Pain for the win.

Winner: Johnny Mundo via pinfall (Starship Pain)

– Alberto El Patron is backstage and congratulates Johnny Mundo on his win. Mundo asks if El Patron will fight anyone he hasn’t beat before, but says he’s joking. Patron says he forgot about Mundo’s sense of humor, and him altogether.

– Cueto says he wants Sexy Star in the tournament, but her partners are still on the shelf. He says he’ll give her Super Fly and Pentagon Jr. They’ll face Big Ryck, The Mack and Killshot.

Best of 5 series (Aerostar leads 2-1)
Drago vs. Aerostar

A big kick from Drago plants Aerostar, and lands more in the corner. Aerostar turns the tides by knocking Drago out of the ring and hitting a double spring board dive to the outside. He follows with his springboard splash inside, but just gets two. Aerostar goes for several pins that don’t get the job done.

Drago knocks Aerostar from the ring and slams Aerostar down on his face back inside. He lands a nice spinning splash from the top rope and cradles Aerostar for the win to tie up the series at two wins each.

Winner: Drago via pinfall

The two shake hands after the match, but have a heated face off.

– Cueto is in his office and runs down Ivelisse, Son of Havoc and Angelico as losers. He puts them in a team together.

Trios Championship Tournament match
Big Ryck, Killshot & The Mack vs. Sexy Star, Pentagon Jr, & Super Fly

Pentagon says his teammates are week, but he’ll win the Trios Titles himself. Pentagon starts off with Mack and the two avoid each other until Mack hits a springboard armdrag that gets the crowd going. Pentagon quickly changes the momentum and chops Mack’s check violently.

Mack hits a pounce, but can’t get a pin. Pentagon fights back with a big lungblower and tries to break Mack’s arm, but he breaks free and tags Killshot, as Super Fly tags himself in, much to Pentagon’s dismay.

Killshot immediately hits a handstand headscissors, but Super Fly counters with a springboard armdrag and tags Sexy Star in. Killshot drops her with a big back elbow and chop to the….yeah. Star counters and goes for a pin but Big Ryck breaks it up and tosses her over the top rope on to her partners.

Mack and Killshot both do dives on to Pentagon and Super Fly. Ryck teases diving, but gets caught by a Star body press. Pentagon pops up and the two go back and forth. Pentagon gets the better of it and squares off with Killshot. Pentagon gets caught in an inverted Codebreaker, but no pinfall.

Pentagon fights back with a superkick, and Pentagon helps Star hits a top rope huracanrana on Killshot, followed by a splash by Super Fly. Ryck breaks up the count and kicks Pentagon in the face.

Sexy Star gets taken down outside. Back inside Killspree hits a cutter, Mack with a brainbuster and Killshot with a flying knee drop for the win.

Winners: Big Ryck, Killshot, Mack via pinfall (flying knee drop)

Memories of The Russians tag team alongside Krusher Krushev and Nikita Koloff?

I started out when I got into that area wrestling Paul Jones, Wahoo (McDaniel) and a number of other guys and then I would go away for a little while. There were so many territories back in those days besides the World Wide Wrestling Federation; I had 12 tours to Japan, Australia and all over Europe. Mostly around here it was going back often to the Mid Atlantic and to Charlotte where I would have so many different tag team partners, Ray Stevens, Don Kernodle and then Krusher Krushev and Nikita (Koloff) so many different partners that after being in the business for twenty years at that point I was getting really extended because of guys like Krusher and Nikita coming on board and making the whole Russian thing successful especially against teams like the Rock N Roll Express because they were small and fast teams but also the Road Warriors a big strong team representing the USA. People still talk about those matches and they bring back so many great memories.

Did you always see Nikita Koloff becoming the star he became?

I was hopeful at the time because I knew that he was in great shape and this guy has got the possibility to be great because he’s a college graduate, he is a real good sportsman and a go-getter. When I met him he was so on the ball and would go all out and the cliché (Eye of the tiger) not only earlier in his life at the college level playing football but later on in wrestling and now in the Ministry. I am so proud and so glad for him and a little surprised because when you come from being a footballer to whatever other sports you just have to take it one day at a time. I told him whatever you do you’ve got to be aggressive you got to be strong and tough do not talk to people. Let the mystique be there and he let it be there for over two years. He just went along with that accent and he was aggressive, sometimes too aggressive. He would have to be told to calm it down with his opponents. Sometimes Id have to yell at him because he would slap my hand so hard Id say Nikita Im your partner, dont kill me.

Storyline Update On The WWE Announcers Following Lesnar Attack

0

– WWE’s website has posted a storyline update on Michael Cole, JBL and Booker T following Brock Lesnar’s attack on Monday’s RAW. They note that Cole requested to go home to be evaluated by his own doctors and has been diagnosed with a bulging disc at the C6/C67 level as well as severe neck, back and right shoulder pain. Cole did confirm he will be back on next week’s RAW and WWE’s website said he has met with lawyers about possible legal action against Lesnar.

WWE notes that JBL left RAW with some pain in his abdomen but “figured it wasn’t any more serious than anything he had experienced before.” However, they say JBL woke up in the middle of the night in excruciating pain and went to a local hospital where he was diagnosed with an abdominal wall tear. They report JBL underwent surgery on Tuesday but will be back for RAW. Finally, WWE’s storyline update adds that Booker T suffered contusions and general soreness, but no other injuries. He will also be on RAW.

WWE Officials Not Happy With Kevin Nash, Why Nash Didn’t Want To Be Inducted As Diesel

0

Source: PWInsider

Regarding Kevin Nash’s 2015 WWE Hall of Fame induction, the company pushed hard to have him go in as Diesel but he was not having it. Nash was correct in his speech when he said he did it “my way.”

Nash wanted to go in under his real name so he could take advantage of any additional credibility that the induction might bring to his other projects. It was also said that Nash hasn’t wanted to go in as Diesel for years because it’s been said Diesel was one of the worst drawing WWE Champions and he didn’t want to allow himself to be celebrated under the Diesel name for that reason.

On a related note, we reported earlier that WWE officials were upset with Alundra Blayze for some of the adult language used in her speech and with Shawn Michaels for using the words “strap” and “wrestler” but they were also upset with Nash. Vince McMahon and several other long-time WWE executives were not happy over the talk about how Nash helped change the wrestling business with guaranteed contracts. The feeling at the time was that WCW was trying to put WWE out of business and because Vince took it personal at the time, Nash’s speech brought up a lot of old angry feelings on one of the most special nights of the year.
