– At least three documentaries were filmed in The Bay Area during WWE’s WrestleMania 31 week. There was also a bunch of Total Divas footage filmed as the whole cast had their families in town.

– We noted last week that WWE officials had security confiscating Lucha Underground related signs at last Monday’s pre-WrestleMania RAW in Los Angeles. They were also taking anti-Roman Reigns signs.

– Regarding Bray Wyatt wrestling The Undertaker at WrestleMania 31 with a sprained ankle, there was no talk at any point about Wyatt not doing the match. We noted that Wyatt was hurting o bad they had to put his ankle in a cast until the match started and he took it off.

The decision to put the WWE World Heavyweight Title on Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 31 was not a last minute decision but only a few people were aware of the plan.

Reigns was originally planned to win the title but Rollins found out he was winning it late in the show. He was also informed that after winning, he would have to take the flight to New York City for The Today Show and the back to California for RAW.

Rollins reportedly was informed of the last 45 seconds of the match and that he was winning the title by a WWE producer right at the start of the angle between The Rock and Ronda Rousey. It was then that Rollins, Reigns, Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman went into a room with Michael “PS” Hayes to work out the new finish of the match. The rest of the match had already been mapped out by that time.

Steve Austin Turns Down Tough Enough, Talk On His Problems With Vince McMahon

We noted over WrestleMania 31 Week that Steve Austin did not travel to Santa Clara for the festivities and this caused a lot of shock within WWE as he was expected to be there.

It turns out Austin was scheduled to fly into San Jose on the same flight that The Undertaker was on as they both live in Texas. The flight landed and Austin was not there. WWE even had an employee waiting to pick Austin up from the airport. It appears they still thought he might show up as there was a room with his name on it backstage at Levi’s Stadium until mid-week.

It was noted before that the issue appeared to be between Austin and Vince McMahon. One person close to the situation said they have never seen Vince as angry about anything else, which is saying a lot. The rift between Vince and Austin reportedly has to do with his podcast on the WWE Network and Vince not liking some aspects of it. This is likely why WWE Network is now carrying Chris Jericho’s podcast instead.

WWE also wanted Austin for the upcoming season of Tough Enough but he reportedly turned it down for an unknown reason. Some expect Austin to address his issues with WWE shortly.

As noted, tonight’s WWE SmackDown will feature Sheamus returning to the ring against WWE United States Champion Daniel Bryan in a non-title match.

Sheamus is accused of being reckless in the match and not protecting Bryan enough. Some who saw the match live noted that Sheamus worked too reckless in some spots.

Bryan ended up busted open and needed around 7 stitches to close a cut on his forehead. Apparently there is at least some blood shown on tonight’s broadcast.

Several members of the legendary Anoa’i family were very angry at the finish to the main event of WrestleMania 31 as plans were changed and Roman Reigns did not end up with the WWE World Heavyweight Title.

Reigns’ father, WWE Legend Sika, was said to be “looking to start a war” he was so upset. One WWE source commented to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter:

“Sika forgot this business is not real life, and was legit pissed at the finish and looking to start a war. A lot of the younger (family members) were rallying around Sika, but the other 45 or 50 of them talked some reason.”

Another person who was around the family during WrestleMania said they were furious, mad and disappointed but not out of control. While the family came for Rikishi’s Hall of Fame speech, they came more to see Reigns have his big WrestleMania Moment and win the title.

Brock Lesnar’s new WWE contract is said to be largely the same as his previous two deals, as far as scheduling goes. A few items were added but nothing significant and Lesnar is still working limited dates.

As of this week, the idea is to keep Lesnar and Paul Heyman off WWE TV for a while, possibly until it’s time to begin a feud for August’s SummerSlam pay-per-view. As noted, Stephanie McMahon suspended Lesnar on Monday’s RAW as a way to write him off TV.

With Lesnar and Heyman being WWE’s hottest act, things could always change and WWE could bring them back early if needed.

Ronda Rousey At WWE’s Hell In A Cell?, WWE Criticized For Michael Cole Storyline Injury

– There was a lot of talk during Monday’s post-WrestleMania RAW about how insensitive WWE was when they announced Michael Cole as having a cervical fracture, or a broken neck, just a few days after it was revealed by a medical examiner that Perro Aguayo Jr. died due to three cervical fractures.

It’s possible that the WWE writer who did the Cole storyline injury was not aware of Perro’s cause of death but considering how many channels a WWE script goes through, surely one of the people who read the script knew about Perro.

– While there is no deal in place for Ronda Rousey to work WWE’s WrestleMania 32 next year, it’s said that if they do another angle with her and Stephanie McMahon between now and next spring it would be at the October 25th Hell In a Cell pay-per-view from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

It turns out there was reportedly an “ugly incident” on an airplane with Hulk Hogan’s wife Jennifer. No other details are known at this time but it turned into a huge issue, leading to WWE keeping Steiner from their venues this weekend.
