Update On Daniel Bryan vs. Bad News Barrett, Bryan Undergoing Testing?

0

noted last night that Michael Cole and JBL mentioned on RAW how Bad News Barrett vs. WWE Intercontinental Champion Daniel Bryan at Sunday’s Extreme Rules pay-per-view was in jeopardy due to Bryan’s ongoing health issues.

WWE’s website has updated their official match preview for Sunday and it notes that Bryan is undergoing “diagnostic testing” to see if he’s able to perform. They wrote the following:

Daniel Bryan rose above six other Superstars to capture his first Intercontinental Championship in a Ladder Match at WrestleMania. However, if the ever-popular “Yes!” Man hopes to hold onto the title, he’ll have to get past the Superstar who lost the championship that day, Bad News Barrett, at Extreme Rules. Bryan is undergoing diagnostic testing to see if he can defend his title at Extreme Rules.

The “OH MY GOD!” Review: WWA “The Eruption” PPV 4/14/02

0

Since we last left the WWA only two shows took place however something big happened at the first one. On April 7th Nathan Jones became the WWA Champion defeating Jeff Jarrett, Scott Steiner and Brian Christopher in a 4 Way Dance. Eddy Guerrero has gone back to the WWF thus vacating the International Cruiserweight Championship. This brings us to…

The Eruption 2002-04-14 (Matches taped 2002-04-13 at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne Australia)

Champion: Nathan Jones
International Cruiserweight Championship: Vacant

We kick things off we a very uneventful pre show hosted by Jeremy Borash. The only thing worth noting is that they play a video package of Champion Nathan Jones which shows footage of Nathan tagging with Konnan to take on Lenny and Lodi. This is from the tour that took place between 11/27/01 and 12/11/01.

Our PPV opens up with a limo pulling up to the arena. Jeff Jarrett comes out and Jeremy Borash, WWA owner Andrew McManus and some other guy meet him and let him know that commission Sid has banned him from the arena. Jeff promises that he’ll be back.

Opening video.

Borash is with Disco Inferno on commentary tonight. There is a ridiculous looking giant volcano at the entrance ramp, cause The Eruption ya know. It looks like something WCW would have in like 1991. The volcano oozes lava and some shitty has fire works go off. Also like WCW in 1991. Sid pulls up in a limo.

The ring announcer tries to hype the crowd up and welcomes them to the “extravaganga”. He announces the commentators and then looks for them to come down the aisle even though they are already sitting at ringside. HAHA we get shots of them and Borash looks pretty mad.

AJ Styles vs. Nova
Nova wants a hand shake but AJ kicks his hand away. These guys were the last two in the 6 man last time. This is a tournament match for the Cruiserweight title. AJ gets shoulder blocked down but springs up into a rana. Nova hits the weakest looking double power bombs and then throws AJ onto his face from the power bomb position. Nova with a gut buster. We learn that this is a four man tournament. AJ comes back and hits a spin kick. Nova misses a swanton. Nova goes for the kryptonite crunch but AJ fights out and hits styles clash for 3 in 4.02.

Scott Steiner and Midajah are walking around backstage.

The Starettes dance in the ring for like 5 seconds. Useless.

Clips of Jerry Lynn attacking Eddy Guerrero from last month.

Commissioner Sid comes to the ring still using a cane from his injury back in January of 2001 when he touched the chest and felt the power of Scott Steiner (look up the promo it’s great). Sid talks about about tonight’s main event of Steiner versus Champion Nathan Jones.

Chucky vs. Jerry LynnChucky with a body scissors that sends Lynn to the floor and he follows with a spring board dive. Back in the ring Lynn hits a cradle piledriver for the quick win in 1.08.

Puppet is back stage yelling at some guy. He has a wall of tools that he says he is going to us on Teo. Puppet has a head shaped like Frankenstein.

Puppet vs. Teo
Puppet talks shit to the crowd but Teo hits the ring and the match is on. Teo hits a head butt to the balls. Puppet fights back and sets up some chairs in the ring and then he slams Teo onto them. Borash says that Puppet is park of a traveling side show where for “$1 you can lick a midget for free”. Apparently Borash doesn’t know the meaning of the word free. Puppet hits a TKO but Teo gets right up and Puppet stays down. Hmmm. Teo with a blockbuster for 2. Puppet sets up a garbage can in the corner and whips Teo into it then hits a vader bomb splash. Teo fights back and hits a swinging neck beaker then comes off the top with a swanton for 2. Teo puts the garbage can on Puppet then nails it with a chair. Teo goes and gets a ladder climbs it and then splashes Puppet who is still in the trash can and gets the win in 5.21. There match last time was much better.

Queen Bee from Penthouse is in her dressing room getting ready for her evening gown match. Her opponent Madajah is backstage and Teo shows up fresh off his victory and his wearing Steiner’s chainmail. He calls her a freak and says he is the real big bad booty daddy. She rips it off of him and he runs away.

Buff Bagwell & Stevie Ray vs. Ernest Miller & Brian Christopher
Christopher goes from main event to this? Disco talks about Christopher being a giant spaz and won’t stop talking about Buff begin the son of Judy Bagwell haha. Christopher with a bulldog and then he tags Miller. Double back elbow floors Bagwell. Miller with some karate stuff. Disco wonders why the back of Miller’s shirt says “somebody call my momma” but doesn’t display a phone number. Swinging neck breaker by Buff and in tags Stevie. HAHA Disco says Stevie can rip a mans heart out with him even bleeding. Stevie beats on Miller but Miller makes the tag. Christopher comes in and hits a DDT. Stevie though catches him coming off the top and slams him down. Stevie just throws Christopher in the air and Christopher lands on his ass. “The Tushy Bomb” as Disco calls it. Buff tags in and we get a double clothesline. Both teams tag. Miller fires away with some more karate on both Buff and Stevie. Stevie cuts him off with a clothesline. But then hits a pump kick on Buff by accident. Christopher and Miller clothesline Stevie out of the ring and then hit a double chokeslam on Buff. Christopher goes up top and almost falls to his death but manages to hit the hip hop drop for 3 in 8.07. After the match Christopher, Miller the Staretts and a bunch of kids “dance” in the ring. Disco can’t stand the awful dancing so he gets in and dances. Of course Miller and Christopher attack him and even tell the kids to get some stomps in. This was really bad.

The Funkster is backstage and he cuts a promo on Pierre Oulette. Funkster says “brother” like 100 times. I enjoy this.

Alan Funk vs. Pierre Oullette
Pierre “sings” the canadian national anthem except I don’t even think he’s saying words. Funk comes out to “Eye of the Tiger”. Pierre attacks to start the match. Disco tries to figure out who Funk reminds him of. Funk does a great Hogan impression with his mannerisms being dead on. Pierre with a press slam into a powerslam for 2. Sleeper by Pierre. Funk breaks out but then gets thrown to the floor. Funk spring boards off the second rope into a sunset flip. Pierre hits a nasty looking suplex and then gets a 2 count after a top rope leg drop. Pierre with a running sit out power bomb but he doesn’t go for a pin. Pierre heads up top again and hits the cannonball and almost gets the 3 count. Funk hulks up. Disco decides that Funk reminds him of Bobby Eaton. Funk with a tilt a whirl face plant. Pierre comes back and hits an avalanche but Funk reverses an irish whip. Big boot, piledriver and leg drop end things in 6.15. Disco changes his mind and now he says Funk is a young Barry Windham, haha. I enjoyed the match.

The Nathan Jones package that aired during the preshow is shown again.

Scott Steiner hits the ring with Madajah and he has a mic! He talks about all the freaks that went down under and reached nirvana. Cricket is a sissified sport or so says Steiner. Steiner says he is going to beat up people in the crowd after he beats Jones. Jones comes out and says everyone there wants him to kick Steiner’s ass. Steiner tells Jones to come down now so they can have the match. Sid comes out and tells him to wait tip later tonight. Sid adds himself to the match as the enforce at ringside.

Clips from the six man cruiserweight match from last PPV. Not really sure why. This was also on the pre show.

AJ Styles vs. Jerry Lynn
Championship gold goes to the winner of the match here. Some nice back and forth as they each block and reverse each others moves. Lynn finally able to hit a hard clothesline followed by a back breaker for 2. AJ back flips out of a german attempt and hits a rana. Lynn comes back and goes for a suplex but AJ flips out of it and hits the springboard moonsault into the inverted DDT for 2. Superkick by AJ but Lynn kicks out. Styles goes for a tornado DDT but Lynn blocks it and then northern lights AJ into the turnbuckle! AJ able to dump Lynn onto the floor and he hits a somersault dive onto the floor. Lynn reverses a power bomb into a rana. He goes for the cradle piledriver but AJ reverses it and we go into a series of about 20 pin attempts. Lynn hits a german and AJ lands on the side of his shoulder. Looked pretty painful. Both men down now. Back up AJ blocks suplex and picks up Lynn in a suplex but then turns it into a neck breaker. Lynn slides out of a running power bomb and hits a sit out bomb of his own for 2. Lynn spikes AJ down with the cradle piledriver for 2. AJ fights back and hits the styles clash and gets a near fall. Both men are exhausted after 11 minutes of wrestling. AJ goes up top but Lynn knocks him down and heads up with him. Styles blocks a superplex and pushes Lynn down. AJ comes off the top with a corkscrew senton for the win in 11.30. They shake hands as AJ holds up his newly won International Cruiserweight Championship. Sick finish to a good match.

Devon Storm Sabu video package.

Cage Match: Devon Storm vs. Sabu
Pinfall or submission cage match here. Storm hits a release german early on. Sabu with a nice looking springboard DDT for 2. Borash talks about who these two have been having great matches on the tour. Sabu with two springboard leg lariats. Sabu goes for a rana but Storm holds him up and then rams his back into the cage twice. Sabu on the apron and Storm drops kicks him and Sabu goes face first into the cage HARD. Sabu busted open. Snap suplex and Storm hits a splash off the top. Sabu fights back and hits a superrana. Storm now sent into the cage and Sabu stabs Storm with an object. Sabu’s back also bleeding from when his back was slammed into the cage. They go up top and Storm hits a super release northern lights suplex! Storm calls for a chair and someone just throws on in the ring to him. Why is some random employee getting involved in the match? Storm uses the chair and hits a northern lights onto it for 2. Sabu fights back and throws the chair into Storms face. Two air Sabus follow. Arabian face buster and Sabu misses a moonsault of the top of the cage as the crowd breaks out the “holy shit” chant. DVD on the chair gets 2. Storm leaves the cage and grabs a piece of guardrail. He puts it on the ring steps and another piece of guardrail. Sabu follows him out and dives through the cage door. Sabu gets out a table which allows Storm to recover and drop Sabu on the guard rail. Suplex onto the rail, that looked painful. Storm stacks up two tables. Sabu gets DDTed on the floor and then put on the top table. Storm nails him with a chair and then goes into the ring. The crowd beings to cheer as they know whats about to happen. Storm climbs to the top of the cage and puts Sabu through the tables with a splash!!!! They manage to get back up and Sabu sets a table up in the ring and then goes to get Storm but has the door slammed on his head. Storm nails Sabu with the chair a few times but then Sabu throws a fireball in his face! Sabu throws the chair at Storm and puts him the table. Sabu goes up to the top of the cage and hits a moonsault but the table doesn’t break so he goes back up and hits a leg drop through the table for the pin in 17.04. This match was pretty kick ass.

Evening Gown Match: Midajah vs. Queen Bee
Things happen then Midajah hits a body slam and takes off the dress for the win in 2.20. Puppet and Teo hit the ring and take off Midajah’s dress and she chases them away.

Champion: “Front Row” Nathan Jones vs. Scott Steiner (w/ Midajah)
Sid is at ringside getting ready to enforce and stuff. They shoulder block each other to try and show off who is stronger. Jones wins that battle and Steiner bails to the floor. Back in the ring Steiner takes control and sends Jones to the floor. Jones comes back into the ring with a slingshot clothesline from the apron for 2. Steiner with a jaw breaker but Jones comes right back and hits ten corner punches. Steiner just grabs Jones and pushes him over the top rope out of the ring. Jones looked like he took a nasty spill. On the out side Jones gets sent into and through the guard rail! In the ring Steiner hits a back breaker followed the by clothesline, flex and drop the elbow combo. Steiner starts doing push ups. Belly to belly gets 2. Steiner stretches the arms of Jones’ behind his back in a surfboard. Jones fights up but Steiner hits a low blow and a release northern lights. Sharpshooter by Steiner but Jones gets to the ropes. Bearhug by Steiner and when Jones tries to break out of it Steiner hits an overhead belly to belly. Jones ducks a line and hits a side slam and both men are down. Jones fights off Steiner and then goes up top but falls and misses a clothesline. HAHAHAHAHHAH Steiner sells it anyway even though it was his legs that got hit. Jones goes for a chokeslam but Midajah jumps on his back. Jones throws her off allowing Steiner to hit Jones with the belt while the ref and Sid are checking on her. Steiner covers and puts his feet on the rope so Sid tells the ref to stop counting. Steiner goes out and jaws with Sid. Back in Jones with a few roll ups for 2 counts. Steiner hits a slam and comes off the second rope but Jones catches him and hits a chokeslam but Midajah jumps on the ref to stop the count. Sid into the ring and he goes for a power bomb on her but other refs come out to stop him. Steiner hits Jones with the belt again and locks in the Steiner recliner. Jones passes out and Steiner is our new WWA Champion in 14.44. Sid comes in and says he will raise Steiner’s hand. He says that he wants a chance at the title. Steiner says the only chance he will have is to get his leg broken again. Steiner leaves and then comes all the way back out to the ring just to tell Sid he will shove his cane up his ass.

My thoughts on the show…
A pretty decent show here. The Styles/Nova match was a little to short to really get going but was good for what it was. The tag match was just awful with all four guys just totally sucking in the ring. I liked the three matches before the main event. The cage match being my favorite of those. The main event was ok. Obviously we weren’t going to get anything great from these guys but it was watchable yet again though we get a total clusterfuck of a finish.

– After Eruption WWA would take another hiatus until the very end of November. When they came back Sid was gone and Champion Scott Steiner had signed with the WWE. Cruiserweight Champion AJ Styles was also absent from the tour. Mike Sanders was brought in as the new commissioner and Sting and Lex Luger would join the company. There were five shows before the next PVV. Luger and Sting would be on opposing sides for the first two and the fifth while Luger was not at the other two.

Source: F4WOnline

Regarding rumors of WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins having his Curb Stomp finisher banned by the company, the move has not been banned but Rollins will be using the new DDT-facebuster type move he used on RAW to defeat Dolph Ziggler.

Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter described Rollins using a new move as a “semantic situation” and said WWE does not want to draw attention to the Curb Stomp no longer being used but it is not banned.

The “OH MY GOD!” Review: Best Of MXPW And The Youtube Collection

0

The MXPW Youtube Collection

The following 3 matches are on the Youtube channel of MrTokyo10. I’m under the assumption that this is Kahagas, or someone who knows him, as it only features matches of his.

Kahagas & Blackhart (w/ Blare Rogers & Amy Vitale) vs. Tower, ref Chuck Hart (2005-11 in Fla)
Tower is a rather tall guy. Kahagas ducks a few lock ups and kicks the legs. Tower grabs Kahagas and throws him into the corner. Kahgus goes out to regroup. Back in Tower gets Kahagas in the corner again and hits some big chops. Kahagas bails to the floor and in comes Blackhart. Blackhart rakes the eyes but Tower fights back. Amy distracts the ref and Kahagas comes in with a kendo stick from behind. Tower runs through both men with a shoulder tackle. Tower goes for a chokeslam on Blackhart when Kahagas comes from behind with the kendo stick again causing a DQ in 5.28. Tower fights
them off and the 15 fans in attendance are left very happy.

Kahagas (w/ Blackhart, Blare Rogers & Amy Vitale) vs. Joe Gomez, ref Chuck Hart (Every Dog Has His Day 2006-01-14 from KOA Campground Convention Center in Okeechobee, Fla)
“USA” chant has Kahagas getting ready to walk out of the match before they even lock up. Loudest MXPW crowd we have ever heard. Gomez works a head lock. Kahagas breaks out but Gomez hits a hip toss and goes right back to the headlock. Kahagas fights out but then misses a corner charge. Gomez hits some chops and then a drop kick as Kahagas bails to the floor. Rogers comes up on the apron and Gomez grabs him which allows Kahagas to sneak attack from behind. Blackhart chokes Gomez on the ropes as Kahagas distracts the ref. Kahagas works over Gomez for a few minutes as we reach the 10 minute mark. Gomez blocks a suplex and hits one of his own and both men are down. Gomez ducks a clothesline and hits a DDT. Blackhart distracts the ref and Kahagas nails Gomez with the kendo stick for the victory in 12.14. Casey Thompson comes out and tells the ref what happened and the decision is reversed. Thompson gets on the mic and says that Kahagas’ manager has been trying to take over MXPW. Rogers challenges Thompson to match with Blackhart with the winner getting control of the company. Thompson says yes. Kahagas nails him with the stick and the ref calls for the bell.

Control of MXPW Match: Blackhart (w/ Kahagas, Blare Rogers & Amy Vitale) vs. Casey Thompson, ref Chuck Hart (Every Dog Has His Day 2006-01-14 from KOA Campground Convention Center in Okeechobee, Fla)
More cheating from the Blackhart’s managers. Thompson fires up and hits a few clotheslines when Kahagas hits the ring with the kendo stick and nails Thompson with it causing a DQ in 1.33. Thompson is busted open.

Champion Chaz vs. Kahagas (New Year’s Knockout 2006-01-21 from Highlands Country Fairgrounds in Sebring, Fla)
Some hip tosses send Chaz to the floor. I think Kahagas is the baby face tonight. This makes me confused. Monkey flip by Kahagas and again Chaz goes to the floor. Chaz grabs the belt and starts to leave. Kahagas grabs him and throws him back in the ring. Chaz goes low when the ref isn’t looking. Chaz with the bossman thing on the second rope and then he yells at some kids. Kahagas makes a come back with a cross body, sunset flip and small package all for 2 counts. Chaz though gets back up and is back in charge. Butt bump in the corner. Chaz charges again and Kahagas gets the feet up. Kahagas comes off the second rope with a rana and follows it with a shinning Wizard. Kahagas goes for a flying forearm but Chaz moves and the ref gets nailed. Kahagas turns into the thingy. Both men back up Kahagas goes for a kick Chaz ducks goes for a belly to back. Kahagas flips out of it nails Chaz with a roundhouse kick and covers. A new ref comes out and makes the 3 count. Kahagas is the new MXPW Champion in 11.18. The locker room empties to celebrate with him. But wait! The original ref wakes up and reverses the decision, disqualifying Kahagas for hitting him with the flying forearm! Kahagas nails the ref with the kendo stick.

My thoughts on the show…
Nice little collection of matches here. I began to enjoy Kahagas at the end of the TV run as his matches the last few weeks were pretty decent. The first match would be an easy skip but the other two might be worth checking out. I am however confused how he went from a heel trying to take over the company to baby face getting a locker room clearing celebration in one week.

Best of MXPW Volume 1 (Released July 2006)

These are 100% repeated matches so all of this is a copy and paste. This was an official DVD released through the MXPW website.

Aaron Epic vs. Alex Porteau, ref Mickie Jay
After some back forth Epic hits a nice cross body for 2. Epic misses a corner charge and Porteau rolls him up with a school boy to get the victory in 2.54. Porteau had some trouble with the much smaller Epic in this short match.

Bruiser Bradley vs. Kahagas vs. Preston James vs. Lex Lovett, ref Chuck Hart
Lovett with a float over DDT onto Bradley as James and Kahagas go at it on the floor. Lovett with some elbow that don’t take Bradley down and then Bradley hits him with a big clothesline and they go to the floor. Kahagas gets a 2 count off a northern lights on James. James misses a corner charge and Kahagas hits a shinning wizard. Lovett with a leg lariat on James for 2. Kahagas and James each go for a cross body and they crash together. Bradley misses a charge on Lovett on the floor and hits the ring post. James takes out Lovett and Kahagas. Bradley comes in and clotheslines everyone. Kahagas with a rana that takes he and Bradley over the top rope to the floor. Lovett comes off the turn buckle with a blockbuster on James and he covers and gets the win in 5.05.

Knight takes over and slows things down. Madison goes for an enziguri but Knight blocks it and Madison crashes to the mat. Madison fights back again hits a neck breaker and both men are down. Big clothesline from Knight turns Madison inside out. Knight only gets a 2 count though. Knight misses a corner charge by about 300 feet. Madison with a clothesline and brain buster for 2. Madison goes up top but misses a leg drop. Reverse DDT by Knight but he takes to much time and only gets a 2. Back breaker by Knight. Knight comes off the second buckle with a forearm. Knight hits the ropes and charges but Madison locks in an abdominal stretch and brings it into a abdominal stretch roll up and gets the surprise win in 8.30!

Warlord vs. Apolo, ref Bruce Michaels
The big men go face to face and come to blows. Apolo hits a few shoulder tackles but Warlord doesn’t go down. A flying shoulder tackle finally takes him down and he bails to the floor. Back in Warlord with a stun gun. Crowd dead silent. Warlord with a clothesline for 2. Who the fuck thought this was a good idea to put as the main event on TV. Apolo fights back and Lands a super kick. Apolo picks up Warlord but Dennis Knight and Blackharts show up ending the match in DQ in 5.29. New Jack and Hack Meyers make the save chasing them out of the ring. New Jack gets a mic and challenges the Blackharts to a cage match next week.

Joey Machete & Shawn Murphy (w/ ???) vs. Vandals, ref Bruce Michaels
This match is for the titles. Apparently the other semi finals match is no longer happening. All four man go at it right away and spill to the floor. Blackharts and the team of New Jack and Hack Meyers were both eliminated from the tournament due to the brawl they just got into. The Market Crashers have dropped the tag team name and are now only going by their names. The ref tries to get control of the match but things are out of control. Tommy Vandal and Machete finally turn this into an actual tag match after 3 minutes of all four men fighting. Tommy in control and then he tags Ricky. Murphy comes in behind the refs back and hits a low blow and then tags. Murphy chokes Ricky as Tommy distracts the ref trying to get into the ring. Machete comes in now. Ricky comes back with a clothesline on Machete and gets two. We go to commercial and when we come back the Vandals have made a tag but Machete cuts off Tommy and slams him. Tommy comes back though and both teams tag. Ricky hits a nice looking running blockbuster on Murphy and spin buster on Machete. Tommy goes for a super kick but Murphy pulls the ref in the way. Machete and Murphy hit the sideslam/neck breaker combo and another ref comes down and counts the fall. Machete and Murphy are the new tag team champions.

Norman Smiley vs. Chaz, ref Mickie Jay
The commentators tell us that Norman attacked Chaz when Connie Cabral was trying to get words with Chaz smashing his head into a vending machine. They however do NOT show us this! Chaz slowly makes his entrance to the ring holding his ribs. Norman attacks Chaz as soon as he gets in the ring and we get the bell. Smiley goes right after the taped ribs of Chaz. After six minutes of Norman working over the ribs Chaz makes a comeback. Norman though cuts it off and hits a slam and then goes to take off the turnbuckle. The ref tries to stop him Chaz charges and goes for the butt bump but the ref gets pulled in the way. Chaz hits the thingy on Norman but no ref to make the count. Norman pulls out a chain from his tights and gets the three count in 7.25 to become the new MXPW Champion.

Cage Match: New Jack & Hack “Dog” Myers vs. Blackharts (w/ Dennis Knight), ref Bruce Michaels & Chuck Hart
Michaels is in the ring Warren is out. Knight heads to the commentators table. After about 6 minutes of the fight Warlord comes down. Warlord slams the refs head into the cage and then opens the door. Mark Nulty freaks out screaming about how he ripped open the door but it was locked and he really just opened it like a normal person. Warlord picks up a chair and goes after Meyers and Jack. They still want to know how the door got open. Apolo comes down and and now all six men brawl. Hack with a bulldog Jack comes of the top with the 187 for the win in 8.11. Dennis Knight hops in the ring to help his guys out. They continue the beat down for a few minutes and then leave.

“Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels vs. AJ Styles, ref Bruce Michaels
The winner of this match will be the number one contender for the TV Title held by Chris Sabin. Styles cost Daniels his match against Sabin. Daniels dives out of the ring onto Styles before the match even starts. Daniels sends him to the guardrail. Back in the ring with get a bell and the match is officially underway. Styles comes back and hits a gut buster for 2. Kevin Kelly talks about matches that happened last week as if they happened this week or are going to happen later today. Styles ducks his head for a back drop but Daniels throws him down. Daniels sits Styles on the turnbuckle and slams him off. Daniels goes for the BME but Styles moves Daniels lands on his feet but Styles hits him with an enziguri. They both go for a flying cross body and crash into each other. Sabin comes in the ring and nails Daniels with the belt and then drops Styles with the cradle shock. Ref calls for the bell and we have a no contest in 5.23.

Bullrope Match: Barry Windham vs. Dusty Rhodes, ref Mickie Jay
Has Dusty ever not looked like shit? Oh man there’s like 15 minutes left. The commentary for the past 2 weeks has been dubbed in afterwards and they really lowered the original audio. It makes the crowd sound super silent. Then again most of the matches have sucked so they may just be sitting there. The lighting is also terrible so I can’t see if anyone is cheering. Rhodes gets busted open quickly. Barry now busted open as Rhodes nails him with the cow bell as they fight on the floor. Back in the ring Barry goes low and locks in a sleeper. Dusty fights out drops the bionic elbow and ends it in 9.41.

My thoughts on the show…
They did a good job of picking some of the better matches when you see what they had to work with. I would have kept off the first and last matches. The last match is probably on there for the name power. I also would have kept off the Warlord Apolo match but it set up the cage match for later in the show. Overall a fun tape to close out MXPW.

WWE Raw Results 4/20/15

We’d like to apologize for no Crazy Max Raw Report this week. We know our current loyal readers enjoy the weekly review, but unfortunately out writer BJack’s area suffered some major wind storms Sunday night and it shorted his main DVR received and he will be unable to cover the Raw Report this week. BJack wanted me to alert everyone that he fully intends to be back next week with the fall out from Extreme Rules Raw Report. Instead, we are treated to a Raw review from the capable Michael Bluth.

WWE presented Monday Night RAW this week live from Albany, NY. Here are the results, courtesy of Thomas M.:

– We go to the ring as a Steel Cage is lowered from the rafters. Randy Orton makes his way out to a pop and enters the cage.

Orton cuts a promo on Seth Rollins and says Rollins gave him no choice. Orton says he’s going to break Seth’s jaw on Sunday at Extreme Rules so we no longer have to hear him run his mouth. Orton goes on about how he’s going to destroy Rollins on Sunday. Music interrupts and out comes WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins with Joey Mercury and Jamie Noble. Rollins speaks from the stage says Orton has anger problems but Orton says he just has a Seth Rollins problem. Rollins talks about how he’s the best and says as good as Orton is, he’s that much better. Rollins says Orton can say what he wants but Rollins promises Orton will not be leaving on Sunday with the title. Orton cuts him off and gets upset. He says he’s going backstage to RKO every son of a bitch he sees and before RAW goes off the air, he will RKO Rollins. Orton says that’s a promise and drops the mic as his music hits.

– Still to come, Triple H’s Tough Enough announcement.

Dean Ambrose vs. Luke Harper
Back from the break and out comes Luke Harper with a mic. He doesn’t know why Ambrose isn’t afraid of him but after tonight he will be. Harper hits the ring and they go at it trading shots. Harper misses an elbow and a clothesline. Ambrose hits a crossbody and more strikes. Ambrose with a forearm in the corner and a bulldog but Harper nails him with a superkick. Harper with strikes to the back of the head. They end up on the floor as Ambrose sends Harper into the table and the steel steps. Harper counters and throws Ambrose into the crowd. Harper follows and works Ambrose over through the crowd. Ambrose turns it around and fights back over to ringside but runs into a big right hand. The match gets thrown out as they fight up the ramp to the stage. Harper presses Ambrose into the LED boards. Harper goes to powerbomb Ambrose off the stage but it’s countered. Harper counters that and tosses Ambrose off the stage but he rolls through. Harper runs to the back and Ambrose goes to chase him but stops on the stage as his music hits.

– We see J&J Security escorting Rollins backstage. The Prime Time Players jump out barking, scaring J&J. Titus O’Neil threatens to beat J&J’s ass and The PTP run off. Rollins barks at a crew member and threatens to wipe the floor with him. They walk up on Triple H next. Triple H says they look nervous, like there’s an RKO around every corner. Rollins says he’s not worried. They talk about Orton and Rollins tells Triple H he could use some more security. Triple H reminds him Orton is just one guy and walks off.

#1 Contenders Match: The Lucha Dragons vs. The New Day

Back from the break and The New Day is out. It will be Big E and Kofi Kingston tonight. “New Day sucks” chants start up as Kofi and Cara begin the match but don’t actually get going. We get more chants and Big E tags in as does Kalisto. They finally go at it and Kalisto nails a big kick to the face and then a head scissors. Kalisto kicks the knee out and tags in Cara with a springboard crossbody for 2. We see WWE Tag Team Champions Cesaro and Tyson Kidd backstage watching with Natalya. Kofi comes in and goes at it with Cara now. Kofi ends up sending Cara to the floor. Jeff Jarrett’s Global Force Wrestling issued the following today:

Global Force Wrestling brings sizzle to hot summer nights at a ballpark near you

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – You might be able to buy peanuts and Cracker Jacks, and there’s sure to be a crowd. But this will be a whole new ball game.

The historic first Global Force Wrestling show will be held on Friday night, June 12 at The Ballpark at Jackson in Jackson, Tennessee. as part of GFW’s “MiLB Grand Slam Tour.” The tour will feature stops from Florida to California and several points in between.

It’s a grassroots approach building toward the first GFW broadcast event on Friday, July 24 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. Minor-league parks operated by both private ownership and municipalities have agreed to play host to Global Force Wrestling shows when their baseball-playing tenants are out of town. It’s an easy win for the parks, which gain another great source for revenue. For GFW it’s a chance to build momentum, show off its roster and deliver on its mission statement to be the most fan interactive brand in sports entertainment.

“These ballparks are the center of attention in the summer in most of these cities, and we’re eager to get out there and mix with our fans and show them what the GFW brand is all about,” said Jeff Jarrett, Global Force Wrestling founder and CEO.

The stars of GFW will be appearing in such cities as Knoxville, Tennessee, Richmond, Virginia, and Clinton, Iowa. Dates for the summer ballpark tour are available on globalforcewrestling.com, and more will be added in the coming weeks.

“Global Force Wrestling presented us with a great plan, one that will be beneficial to us and all ballparks, teams and cities as well as to their burgeoning brand,” said Todd “Parney” Parnell, vice president and chief operating officer of the Richmond (Va.) Flying Squirrels. “We know GFW will generate a lot of interest and excitement, not only the night of the show but for weeks in advance.”

Atlanta Braves catcher A.J. Pierzynski is excited about the alliance of his profession and his pastime.

“Wrestling and baseball make a great tag team,” said Pierzynski, a wrestling aficionado. “And I’m thrilled to see so many minor-league parks, some of which I’ve played in, jump on board.”

Global Force Wrestling will roll out its talent roster in the next couple of weeks. It’s a lineup filled with speed and power, righties and lefties, starters and closers, sure to provide thrills at every ballpark.
