Tonight’s show featured the finals of the Trios Championship tournament, as well as Pentagon Jr vs. Sexy Star.

Pentagon Jr vs. Sexy Star

Both are over with the crowd, but Star takes control early. She has a Monkey flipped countered, but fights back and gets a two out of some offense in the corner. Pentagon hits Kong’s Implant Buster finish, but Star kicks out. He sets up to break Star’s arm, but she won’t have any of it, and ends up hitting a tilt-a-whirl DDT for 2. Star dives to the floor, and both almost leads to a pin. Back in the ring Pentagon almost breaks her in half with a Pentagon lungblower, which he repeats. He goes to break Star’s arm, but she hits a lungblower of her own for the pin. The crowd goes nuts, as does the ring announcer in disbelief.
Winner: Sexy Star via pinfall

– Johnny Mundo is working out, and is joined by Alberto El Patron, who clowns him for his loss last week. The two have a bit of a stand off, and aren’t happy with each other.

Trios Championship
Cage, Texano & King Cuerno vs. Son of Havoc, Ivelisse & Angelico vs. Big Ryck, The Mack & Killshot

Killshot & Angelico try to double team Cage, but get handled by him anyway, until Angelico drops Cage with a knee. Cage comes back immediately with a big double suplex, and Angelico is left for a beating. Son of Havoc and The Mack end up going at it, and both get huge chants from the crowd before Mack does a dive to the floor. Havoc goes to do one, but gets dropped by Cage. Ivelisse dives instead, as Cage and Ryck go at it in the ring. Cage takes care of Ryck and then Cage moonsaults from the top rope to the floor. Yes, Cage. Cage dit that. Angelico is back fighting Ryck, then turns his attention to Texano, landing an big knee that puts them both in the crowd. Shawn Daivari, who is in awesome shape, attacks Texano, and the announce team acts like they don’t know him. Ivelisse looks hurt outside, and Ryck destroys everyone. Angelico is the victim of another WIllie Mack dive as Killshot hits a big time lungblower. Havoc tags in and almost gets pinned by Killshot. He’s able to turn the tides by countering a Frankensteiner. Ivelisse gets caught coming off the top, but Son of Havoc jumps on everyone to save her. Fall of the Angels and a crucificx bomb gets the win!
Winners: Son of Havoc, Ivelisse & Angelico

Dario Cueto is out and says they aren’t done. They have to beat The Crew in a no DQ match for the titles. Uh oh.

Trios Championship – No DQ Match
The Crew vs. Son of Havoc, Angelico & Ivelisse

The Crew jumps Havoc, Angelico and Ivelisse and beat them all over the outside of the ring. They land a big series of kicks, but the faces slowly fight back. Havoc hits a moonsault, and the Crew is about to attack Ivelisse, but Angelico hits a dive off of the office into the ring. That was one of the craziest things I’ve ever seen on TV wrestling. The crowd is going nuts as Ivelisse kills the crew with cane shots. Havoc and Angelico hit ariel attacks in stereo for the win. You can see a gif of Angelico’s dive at the link below.
Winners: Angelico, Havoc & Ivelisse to become Lucha Underground Trios Champions

Triple H Talks About A Move He Refuses To Take While Wrestling, Why He Won’t Do It

0

Wrestling is full of dangerous moves. This week alone, much has been made about Seth Rollins’ use of the Curb Stomp, as it appears to have gone the way of the Dodo. Moves like the piledriver aren’t permitted by WWE standards.

Triple H appeared on the Tim Ferris Show this week and talked about a variety of topics, including a particular move he simply won’t take in the ring. The move in question? A seemingly simple shoulder to the ring post.

“I have things I don’t do well in the ring. For example, they go through the top and middle turnbuckle and hit the post from the inside,” Triple H said. “It’s one of those mental blocks for me. I can’t seem to navigate going between the two turnbuckles, I always get stuck somehow, so I never do it. People grab me in the ring and say ‘take the post,’ and I say no.”

Triple H had been touching on the topic of wrestlers needing to stick to doing things that they know will look good in the ring. He spoke about the importance of not wasting motion.

Update On The Miz Vs. Damien Sandow, How Long Will Daniel Bryan Be Out?

Source: PWInsider Elite

As noted earlier, Daniel Bryan was sent home from the WWE European tour last week. PWInsider reported that Daniel Bryan suffered the injury early in a match at the April 9th WWE live event in Dublin, Ireland where he teamed with Dolph Ziggler and Erick Rowan to defeat Sheamus, Bray Wyatt and Bad News Barrett.

PWInsider reports that Bryan is expected to be out for approximately four weeks. Bryan’s Intercontinental title defense against Barrett this Sunday at Extreme Rules remains listed on WWE.com, however Michael Cole and JBL did mention on RAW this past Monday that the match would only happen if Bryan is healthy enough to compete.

– For those wondering, Monday’s RAW was designed to be the end of the feud between The Miz and Damien Sandow. There’s still no word yet on if The Miz will be at Extreme Rules or next week’s TV tapings but he was scheduled at one point. Miz and Summer Rae did media in New York City for The Marine 4 yesterday and then Miz reportedly flew off to join Paige for filming of Santa’s Little Helper.

* He can’t say anything about his role in the upcoming James Bond movie, since it’s “all top secret international spy stuff.”

* He noted that he’s “curious” about his role in Guardians of the Galaxy 2, and he’s kind of have been kept in the dark regarding it, which he doesn’t mind.

* It was noted that The Rock’s Furious 7 beat the record set by Guardians of the Galaxy last year, and was asked if Guardians 2 will beat Furious 7’s record. Batista was confident that it would, noting that Guardians of the Galaxy was fresh when it came out last year. Now that people are familiar with Guardians, he feels that the sequel will do even better.

Regarding why WWE Intercontinental Champion Daniel Bryan was sent home from the recent WWE European tour, a WWE source stated to PWInsider that Bryan is indeed injured.

Bryan reportedly suffered an injury on April 9th at a WWE live event in Dublin, Ireland as he teamed with Dolph Ziggler and Erick Rowan to defeat Sheamus, Bray Wyatt and Bad News Barrett. We’re not exactly sure what happened to him but there was an injury in that match that got him sent home.

When Bryan was first sent home, WWE officials expected him to be out of the ring for about a month. No word yet if that time-frame has changed but there’s a chance they change Sunday’s Extreme Rules match against Barrett.

But Mero, is not one to shy away from his days as a star of the WCW and WWF for virtually all of the 1990s where he held the WCW TV Title and the WWF Intercontinental Championship under different persona’s. Mero’s jump from WCW to the WWF in 1996 is discussed as we get Mero’s side of the “heat” that was on him for signing the first guaranteed contract the World Wrestling Federation offered to an incoming talent. Being associated with DDP and both making a difference outside the ring:

He is still one of my closest friends. DDP came out and actually surprised me while I was in Atlanta speaking at schools he had Jake Roberts, Scott Hall, Buff Bagwell, Erik Watts, Stevie Richards and we had so much fun just reminiscing and the laughter we had talking about the silly things we would do. Dallas is just an amazing guy. I’ve always joked with him since I’ve known him and told him never bet against DDP, he is just one of those guys that doesn’t give up. He is the Rocky of the new millennium. I couldn’t be prouder to call him a friend. Actually, I have a DVD coming out and DDP Yoga’s Studio filmed it for me at the school I spoke at and his video crew is the one that shot the video that went viral. DDP said “Hey brother, you never know it might go viral” and over 10 million people have seen this thing now.

Working with DDP in the ring:

He would call me at three o’ clock in the morning and I’d say who is calling me at this hour and when I’d pick up the phone I’d hear “Hey bro, I got a spot I want to run by you, when you reverse the hip toss go underneath” and I’m saying Dallas, its three in the morning and he said “oh I couldn’t sleep, but what do you think?” I wanted to strangle him but, that’s why I loved the guy he is just so passionate about everything he does but now he is doing it for the whole world. DDP and I had some really good matches. But my best matches with DDP were at house shows because you can go a little bit longer and we would always try new things. We had matches where people were on the edge of their seats

Wrestling Brian Pillman at Fall Brawl 1995:

We knew that it was going to be a 30 minute match and I remember that Brian really worked hard to help construct a match that would raise some eyebrows because I was still very green and Brian wanted to bring the best out of me. I would actually say that is probably one of if not the top 5 matches I’ve ever had.

Who helped you become a better in ring performer?:

Stone Cold Steve Austin at King of the Ring 96. Definitely anytime against Eddie Guerrero. Eddie was the easiest guy to wrestle. Steve Regal helped me out a lot along the way. Going back all the way to the beginning it was Raven, he helped me out in becoming a much better worker. Guys that would work with me in the ring and maybe they weren’t happy about me beating them in the ring, they were business guys and they always wanted to make it better. I know there are guys I am forgetting but there are so many guys that were instrumental in helping that were fun to work with.

Jumping to the WWF in 1996:

The WWF was such a big deal because that was going to the dance. You really knew you made it, when you made it to WrestleMania and I was the first one to get a guaranteed contract. I had so much good stuff going in but I also didn’t know how much it hurt me going in, bringing my wife at the time and the character of the “Wildman” were very difficult. I came from the flamboyant crazy Johnny B. Badd to the “Wildman” Marc Mero, and I thought what is a Wildman? Am I from a jungle? I never connected with the character and unfortunately the audience didn’t either and that was difficult because I was starting to get better as a wrestler. But I have no regrets, good, bad it all led me to where I am today.

Mero also discusses, his New York State Golden Gloves championship, the origins of the Johnny B. Badd character, the Johnny B. Badd theme song, Marvelous Marc Mero, his feud with Sable, the Brawl for All competition and his future.
