UFC Fight Night London Recap: Anderson Silva vs. Michael Bisping, More

0

Anderson Silva vs. Michael Bisping was a fight talked about for years when both were in their prime years. Silva was a dominant champion, but Bisping couldn’t piece together enough consecutive wins to warrant a title fight. Still, it was an interesting stylistic matchup. Finally, that fight took place on Saturday at UFC Fight Night London.

The action started off slow, with Silva dodging and evading most of Bisping’s attacks. Vintage Anderson Silva started to come out, as he taunted Bisping before being rocked at the end of the first round.

This didn’t stop Silva, as he returned to his typical showboating style, albeit with a little slower reaction time than his prime years. Silva still found success with some flashy strikes until being dropped by big punches at the end of round 2. Silva recovered with some upkicks, but was down two rounds to none.

In the third round, Silva took things much more seriously, knocking Bisping’s mouthpiece out. Bisping tried to stop fighting to get the mouthpiece and got slammed with a flying knee as the buzzer rang. Mass confusion broke out, with corners thinking the fight was over, but it wasn’t.

Round four saw Silva return to earlier form, playing defense as Bisping would swing away. Silva landed big punches at the end of the round, leaving Bisping doubled over, but likely still Bisping’s round. Round five was all Silva with his signature front kick landing. The fight went the distance, with Bisping taking home a 48-47 decision, even though he never looked in control after the second round. Silva’s passive game in the early rounds cost him.

In the night’s co-main event Gegard Mousasi dominated a bout against former UFC Middleweight Title challenger Thales Leites. Highly touted prospect Makwan Amirkhani also continued his reign of terror in the UFC, earning his third straight win.

We see the end of last week’s main event.  Joey Styles is going over some things with the production team after last week’s show when they start freaking out and go back to the ring where the savages from Florida are throwing their chairs into the ring.

Opening video.

Joey sends it to an interview with World Champion “The Franchise” Shane Douglas.  Douglas at the hotel pool talks about how Tully Blanchard used to do drugs and drink and then tell everyone not to do it.  Tonight Douglas says that he Dean Malenko and “Crippler” Chris Benoit the Triple Threat did what the Four Horsemen used to do to so many in the past.  People will now raise three fingers instead of four to show their respect.

Tag Team Champions Public Enemy vs. Sabu & Tazmaniac (w/ Paul E Dangerously & 911) ref John “Pee Wee” Moore

Sabu apparently has a fractured ankle.  Things start off heavy as they brawl before the bell.  Sabu hits a moonsault on Johnny Grunge but “Flyboy” Rocco Rock breaks it up.  Taxplex gets a 2.  Some brawling on the floor.  Grunge busted open already.  Make that lots of brawling on the floor.  Back in the ring Sabu with a springboard moonsault to both PE for a 2 count.  Japanese arm drag by Taz to both and they bail.  Taz whips Sabu into the ropes and he dives through onto PE.  They catch him though and drive him back first into the ring post.  Taz gets double teamed.  Sabu back in the ring to break it up.  He hits a moonsault from the top onto Rock but Grunge breaks up the pin.  Double back body drop onto Grunge.  T bone suplex.  Sabu brings in a table.  Grunge put on the table but in comes Rock.  He gets germen suplexed.  Sabu and Grunge to the floor.  Grunge put on a table.  Taz has Rock up top and wants to superplex him through the table in the ring.  Rock pushes Taz off through the table as Sabu dives out of the ring putting Grunge through a table.  Rock covers and gets the pin in 8.52.  911 comes in and grabs the ref by the throat.  Rock nails him with a chair twice and he no sells it and chokeslams him.  Ref now goes up and gets one too.

Joey is with Paul E now.  Paul E says he has a special hell planned for PE.  He says they are going to say that they have been through the streets and Paul E can’t do anything they are afraid of.  Paul E says the hell is that they are going to go through tables and straight back to the hood.  From their he says they will go to jail where no one is going to call them champ cause they’re only going to call them bitch!

Next Arena show card is Douglas/Blanchard for the title, PE versus Sabu and Taz in a Double Tables match.  Cactus Jack takes on Sandman in a Texas Death Match.  Mikey Whipwreck against Paul Lauria.  Benioit against “Snowman” Al Snow, Bad Breed square off and Tommy Dreamer battles Steve Richards.  Just a few days away!!

The Raven is in a class room and he says childhood should be a time of bliss unless you are different.  Then it becomes a scar instead of a good memory.  The Raven says Dreamer is going to return to the classroom only this time he won’t graduate.  They zoom on the blackboard and I hate Dreamer is written over and over on it.

Falls Count Anywhere Match: Cactus Jack vs. Sandman (w/ Woman) ref Jim Molineaux

Cactus attacks Sandman in the aisle with a garbage can.  Into the ring Jack with a neck breaker for 2.  Jack hits the ropes and Woman nails him with the cane.  Jack goes out and stalks her.  Sandman comes out after and they fight on the floor.  Sandman takes over.  Garbage can to the head.  Back in the ring Sandman stays on the attack and hits a fameasser from the top.  Cactus comes back and puts Sandman up top and nails him with the garbage can twice.  Back to the floor they go for a bit.  In the ring Jack goes to punch Sandman but Sandman lifts the garbage can up and Jack punches that hurting his hand.  Sandman covers and gets 2.  Sandman smashes the can into the hand of Cactus then piledrivers him on it.  Sandman charges with the can but Jack ducks.  Sandman goes flying over the top to the floor.  Cactus elbow off the apron for the 1, 2 and 3 in 9.17.  Woman canes Cactus after the match but he ne sells it and again goes after her.  Sandman from behind with the cane over and over to the head of Cactus busting him open.  Sandman tries to jab his cigarette into the eye of Cactus but Mikey Whipwreck hits the ring and makes the save.

Sandman is with Woman in the back they want more of Cactus.  Cactus also isn’t done with the Sandman.  It’s a pretty kick ass promo I just don’t feel like typing much right now.

My thoughts on the show…

Good show.  Two fun matches and a sweet promo at the end by Cactus.

Sandman (w/ Woman) vs. Tommy Dreamer ref Jim Molineaux

Seriously this guy is a fucking moron.  Just stay in the ring and get the god damn pin!  He finally gets in the ring but by this point Dreamer is up and able to duck and cane shot and nail Sandman.  To the floor they go and Sandman gets hit with a chair.  Back in the ring Sandman able to take control with a slam and knee drop.  Back to the floor Dreamer with a DDT but then Sandman whips him into the guard rail.  Sandman misses a top rope leg drop but is able to remain in control and hit one on a second attempt.  Sandman with a DDT on a chair.  Sandman misses an elbow drop and lands on the chair.  Dreamer unfolds the chair then stands on it and pedigrees Sandman off it for the pin in 6.47.  Woman comes in with the cane after but Dreamer gets it from her and hits Sandman with it.

Tag Team Champions Public Enemy vs. “Shah” Hack Meyers & JT Smith ref John Finnegan

BOOOOOO! God Smith and Meyers teaming is like the worst thing to ever happen to me in my life.  Smith and “Flyboy” Rocco Rock start off.  Johnny Grunge gets on the mic and points out that a fan must have been born from cousins mating.  Smith wants to know how Grunge would know unless he is one.  After five minutes we finally get our first lock up and Rock with an arm bar brings Smith over.  Smith works over the arm.  Grunge tags in and he wants Hack.  They go punch for punch unit Grunge kicks Hack low and sends him to the floor.  Grunge hits Hack with a chair a few times and then takes him into the crowd.  Hack with a chair now.  All four men brawl in the crowd.  Back into the ring Smith is double teamed by PE.  Grunge and Rock with a double impaler DDT.  Hack back in the ring and he gets hit with the reverse DDT drive by combo and pinned in 16.23.

Taz hits the ring and Benoit attacks him.  Belly to back suplex and slam by Benoit.  Hard back elbow by Benoit.  Benoit with a corner whip and short arm clothesline.  Sweet power bomb gets a 2 count.  Benoit throws Taz onto the top rope.  Camera man films the crowd for a really long time.  Benoit with a back breaker.  Superplex gets 2.  Taz fights back a bit.  They switch go behinds five or six times and Taz finally wins out hitting a german.  Benoit sent into the corner and Taz with a super northern lights but Benoit kicks out at 2.  Jason comes down to the ring and trips Taz as he hits the ropes.  Paul E comes out to chase of Jason.  Oh yea why wasn’t he there the whole time.  “Snowman” Al Snow comes out and hits Taz with a chair followed by Sabu to make the save and then PE to attack Taz and Sabu.  DQ in 7.12.  911 comes out and cleans house.  “Snowman” Al Snow gets a mic and says he wants Sabu in a match tonight!

World Champion “The Franchise” Shane Douglas vs. Mikey Whipwreck ref John Finnegan

Douglas says he is there to kick someone’s ass.  Side headlock by Mikey.  Shane takes him over into a pin attempt for 2.  Mikey pushed back against the ropes and Shane nails him and start pounding away.  Mikey ducks a few lines and trips up Shane.  Hammerlock on the mat by Mikey.  Shane out of the hold but he gets drop kicked three times and goes to the floor.  Mikey follows with a slingshot plancha onto Shane.  Some action outside the ring that we can’t see and back in Mikey to the arm.  After a few minutes Shane able to break away and hit a power bomb.  Shane all over Mikey for the next few minutes.  Mikey goes low twice and hits an inverted then regular atomic drop followed by some clotheslines.  Mikey with a slam and he goes up top.  Missile drop kick for 2.7.  Cross body from the top has the fans on their feet and cursing the ref as they thought Mikey had won the title.  Shane reverses an irish whip, Mikey ducks a line but Shane grabs him and suplexes him.  Shane comes off the top but Mikey gets his foot up.  They reverse an irish whip attempt three times and Shane lands the belly to belly to retain in 15.16.  Shane gets the mic after but Mikey clotheslines him over the top rope before he can really say anything.  Some asshole throws a chair into the ring.

“Snowman” Al Snow vs. Sabu (w/ Paul E Dangerously & 911) ref Jim Molineaux

Sabu comes out with a neck brace on.  Not sure why as he didn’t have it earlier unless I missed something.  Snow goes to work on it right away.  Snow with an irish whip and he goes for a side slam but Sabu reverses into a spinning head scissor.  Snow goes to the floor and Sabu flips over the top rope onto him.  Sabu with a slam back in the ring but he misses a slingshot somersault leg drop.  Snow to the apron now and he goes for a slingshot leg drop and also misses.  Snow with a DDT for 2 followed by a piledriver.  Snow rips off the brace and puts it on himself mocking Sabu.  Sabu fights back and hits a leg drop but Snow rakes the eyes and takes back over.  Snow with a slam and he goes up top for a moonsault but Sabu moves.  Snow lands on his feet and hits a wheel barrel suplex and release german.  Snow with a sit out power bomb.  Snow chokes Sabu on the ropes 911 grabs a chair and very calmly goes over and smacks Snow in the head with it and hands it to Sabu.  Arabian face buster but Sabu is to hurt to do anything else.  Snow gets the chair and hits Sabu a few times.  Sabu though fights back and nails Snow with it.  Sabu goes for air sabu but Snow comes out of the corner with a clothesline.  Snow hunts up Sabu on the top rope.  Paul E starts yelling at Snow so he goes to the apron and argues with him.  Sabu sets up a chair and jumps into Snow.  Sabu goes for a sunset flip power bomb from the inside out but Snow holds the ropes and Sabu crashes to the floor. Snow hits a kick ass looking cross body after spring boarding off the top rope.  Back in the ring Snow goes for a DDT onto a chair but Sabu hooks the rope and Snow hits the chair.  Sabu puts Snows opens up the chair and puts Snows head in the opening between the back and seat.  Sabu goes to the apron and slingshot leg drops the back of Snow’s head for the win in 13.52.  That finishing move looked brutal.  Sabu puts himself through a table afterwards.

My thoughts on the show…
The last three matches were pretty decent with last two getting a good amount of time.  This one might be worth seeing.

Volcano Kid vs. Wild Renegade, ref David Hogg
Volcano Kid plays with some flaming sticks before the match. It’s actually pretty neat. Renegade charges but Kid moves out of the way and Renegade hits the buckle. He bails to the floor. After some stalling we get back to action and Kid with a hip toss and into a chin lock. Kid ducks a line and hits one of his own and Renegade bails again. Kid now with a headlock takeover. Renegade ducks a back elbow but gets nailed with a super kick and thrown through the ropes. Renegade back in the ring and he cheats to get ahead. Kid ducks a line but then catches a knee in the stomach coming off the irish whip. Renegade slams Kid’s head into the buckle but he’s an islander so it doesn’t work. Kid comes off the second rope with a fist drop. Renegade reverses a corner whip but Kid jumps to the middle buckle hits a cross body and gets the win in 7.57.

Billy Anderson vs. Tim Patterson, ref Jesse Hernandez
Patterson refuses to take off his robe and wrestle. Ref rings the bell and begins to count him out. 3.20 in and we have our first lock up. Anderson with a headlock take over. Patterson goes to the floor again. TONS of stalling holy shit 6 minutes in. Headlock by Anderson. Patterson tries to push him off but Anderson hands onto the hair. Patterson to the apron to talk shit to the crowd. Anderson grabs his hair and drags him back into the ring and back to the headlock takedown. Patterson close lined over the top and Anderson dives out onto him. Anderson wastes time cheering with the crowd and gets stomped as he gets back in the ring. Patterson throws him back outside and follows. Anderson rammed into the ring post. Back in the ring Patterson with a flying back elbow but Anderson gets his foot on the rope at 2. Back to the floor they go. Patterson nails Anderson with a chair and rams his back into the ring apron. Still on the floor, ref giving them a lot of slack on the count out. Anderson fights back and breaks the count. Back drop on the floor. Atomic drop and clothesline by Anderson. Seriously they have been outside the ring for about 4 minutes straight now. Anderson dives over the barricade into the crowd on Patterson. The ref comes out to break them apart and gets pushed to the floor. This match might actually be over. Double count out in like 14.45.

Thug (w/ ???)vs. Wayne Young, ref David Hogg
Young looks to be about 4 and half feet tall. Thug talks some shit on the mic before the match. His manager is some crazy looking woman. Thug beats on Young and takes it to the floor slamming his face into the ring apron. In the ring Thug chokes Young on the ropes then slams his face into the turnbuckle. Young goes for a sunset flip then slips out of the way when Thug tries to punch him. Young with a bulldog but then he’s back dropped over the top rope to the floor. Thug follows but just to throw him back in. Flying shoulder tackle by Thug. Young sent into a corner and back dropped on his way out. Thug pulls him up at 2. Side slam finishes things at 4.18. Thug picks up the victory but isn’t done as he drops a few elbows after the match and throws the ref through the ropes to the floor. Bill Anderson comes down and makes the save. Thug leaves but Anderson calls him back to the ring and they brawl on the mat. Tim Patterson and Volcano kid both hit the ring to try and break things up.

Brutus ‘The Barber’ Beefcake vs. Nailz, ref Jesse Hernandez
I saw Beefcake at an indy show in like 2000 and he came out to DMX it was great. Nailz attacks Beefcake from behind and chokes him in the corner. Beefcake moves on a corner charge and goes for 10 punches but he’s cut short with an inverted atomic drop and thrown to the floor. Nailz goes out after him but quickly sends him back in the ring. Big slam by Nailz and more choking. Nailz has like the same move set as Zeus. Nailz twists the head of Beefcake who tries to fight back but is again cut off. Beefcake again fights back and trips up Nailz and stomps him in the gut. Beefcake rakes the eyes along the top rope. Nailz forced into the corner and hits with some knees. Beefcake now bites Nailz and hits five punches in the corner. Nailz with a knee to the stomach, sends Beefcake into the opposite corner and falls with an avalanche. He goes for a second one but Beefcake moves rolls him up in a school boy and gets the three count in 8.12.

Johnny ‘The Pitbull’ Paine & Samurai Warrior vs. The Power Twins, ref David Hogg
Warrior starts for his team. Power Twins double team right away. Paine into the ring. Paine shoved to the ground and then he gets run through with a shoulder tackle a few times. Powers hits the rope and gets a knee to the back from Warrior. Warrior and Paine now control the match using illegal tactics to keep the Twins from tagging. Warrior misses a corner charge and the Twins tag but the ref is distracted and is some how able to tell the difference between the two guys that look exactly alike so he kicks the guy out of the ring. Another blind tag by the Twins. Paine and Warrior keep the Twin in their corner but don’t do much beside stomps and choke. Double clothesline and both Powers and Warrior are down. Paine distracts the ref again so he can’t see the tag. Paine goes for a hip toss but it’s reversed into a back slide, Warriro breaks up the pin. We get a nice shot of the ceiling from our camera man. Tag made and the ref finally sees it. Flying shoulder block gets the three as Paine was late to break it up in 11.47. Nope they just keep going like a 3 count was never made. Paine and Warrior hit a double clothesline. Small package now gets the win in 12.32. What the fuck. Garbage.

Bobby Bradley vs. Sabu, ref Jesse Hernandez

Bradley pushes the ref back and comes off the top with a double axe handle. Bradley goes for a back drop but Sabu flips out and lands on his feet. Drop kick sends Bradley to the floor. Sabu with an arabian press to the floor and throws Bradley into the crowd. Sabu flies over the rail into the crowd now. Back in the ring Sabu nails Bradley with a chair and hits air sabu. Bradley able to get his feet on the rope at 2. Bradley hits a side slam and plays to the crowd. Bradley hits the ropes and comes off with a leg drop. Side slam by Bradley but he misses a leaping senton. Arabian press by Sabu. Bradley with a tombstone. Sabu reverses an irish whip then ducks as Bradley comes with a flying forearm, hits the mat and rolls out of the ring. Sabu with a baseball slide and he sets up a table as the fans explode. Sabu with a springboard moonsault but he over shoots it and the table doesn’t break. Bradley brings a chair into the ring but Sabu tackles him before he can use it. Arabian face buster gets the fall for Sabu in 12.20. Sabu then tries to moonsault through the table but just bounces off. The fans boo him. Fucking assholes. THE GUY JUST BOUNCED OFF A TABLE FOR YOU!! He tries again and appears to hurt his knee this time. So the third time he just leg drops it and it breaks.

Terry Funk vs. Tito Santana, ref Jesse Hernandez
Funk backs Tito into the ropes and we surprisingly get a clean break. Second one not so clean as Funk lays in a chop. Tito returns the favor so hard that it sends Funk over the top rope to the floor. In the ring Funk sent back and forth to the buckles. Santana fires away. Funk grabs Santana and they both stumble through the ropes. Funk with a piledriver on the floor. They go into the crowd and brawl. Back in the ring Funk with a neck breaker and DDT each getting him a 2 count. Tito up and he fights back and they go back into the crowd. Tito now with a piledriver for 2. Santana hits the flying forearm for 2.8. Funk up swinging wildly. Santana hits the forearm again and goes up top for a top rope one but again Funk able to kick out. Santana getting hot now argues with the ref. Funk gets something from his tights and nails Santana with it then throws it out of the ring. Funk goes to pick up Santana and gets small packed he reverses it and Santana reverses it back and gets the 3 in 11.05. Funk attacks after the match and chokes Santana. Sabu comes down and attacks Funk.

My thoughts on the show…
So many matches just had a painful amount of stalling and the tag match was just terrible. A bad start.

BONUS MATCH FROM THE SILVER NUGGET 10/24/94

Jack gets on the mic and says he’s not responsible for what happens tonight. Jack reverses a corner whip then hits a bulldog for 2. Jack stomps Sabu to the outside of the ring and follows. Too short to really get to the good stuff. The guy filming didn’t have his friends with him so he mostly shut up, which was nice.

My thoughts on the show…
The Scorpio/Benoit match was much better on TV than it was on the handheld. Main event was good and getting to see Tully at the end awesome. I know the matches he had with Shane sucked but he’s so damn awesome.

Pitbulls/Bad Breed feud video to open up the show this week. White Zombie’s Thunderkiss ’65 video plays. These two teams had six matches against each other in 1994 none of which we saw but we get lots of clips are here. Seeing I don’t know ummm ANY of the matches would have been good to add a little bit to this feud other then the Rottens giggling at the Pitbulls and starting a fight.

Joey lets us know what’s going on tonight. He tells us Ron Simmons has a separated shoulder at the hands of Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko.

Mikey Whipwreck vs. Don E Allen, ref Jim Molineaux

We go to a music video of Mikey’s 1994 to “Loser”. Joey interviews Mikey and ringside and says he was the third runner up in the PWI Rookie of the Year. That’s not really celebration material. 911 was the winner that’s awesome. Bob Holly and Abbudah Singh who would become Ball Mahoney also placed ahead of Mikey. At ringside is Paul Lauria, Mikey’s first tag team partner. Mikey and Paul talk about how they like each other and then Mikey gets attacked. Lauria nails Mikey with a chair and then announcers Jason as his manager. Jeez Lauria is shorter than Mikey. Mikey is busted open and Joey basically carries him to the back.

Rocco tries to put Sabu through a table but Taz dives on top of Sabu. The beat down continues after the match until 911 hits the ring. Clipped down to 6.22.

Paul E promo to hype the upcoming Arena show. He’s so good at this.

Joey lets us know ECW TV is heading to New York. Douglas will be facing someone not currently on the ECW roster.

We go to Steve Richards recent obsession with Johnny Polo. Richards was recently defeated by Tommy Dreamer and has promised to bring the real Polo to the arena to straight this situation out.

Tully Blanchard says “Shane Douglas one of the horsemen may be afraid of you but this one’s not” OH SNAP!

Opening video.

Joey Styles is at ringside and he calls out Steve Richards. Styles wants to know where Johnny Polo is since Richards has been promising him. Richards says he can’t produce Johnny Polo, Scotty Flamingo or Scotty the Body. He says that Polo had to give up a double date with Eddie Vedder and he is upset with Tommy Dreamer. Richards says it’s the birth of Raven. Raven comes out and talks about how Richards suffered a minor set back last week. He talks about kids suffering and then sends Richards into the ring.

Steve Richards (w/ Raven) vs. “Shah” Hack Meyers, ref Jim Molineaux
Hack comes out with a neck brace courtesy of Chris Benoit. They do some really cool short video packages about each guy and what they have involved in lately. I wonder if they hit those new markets and they are introducing the characters to a new audience. Whatever it is I think they are great and will be sad when they stop them. Richards attacks right at the bell and rips of the neck brace. Richards beats on Hack then hits a swinging neck breaker and suplex. Richards remains in control until Hack kicks Richards low then punches away. Joey makes cocaine jokes about Raven. Hack with his elbow to the back of the head leg drop from the apron. Hack busts out his finisher and it looks cool. Richards goes to the floor and distracts the ref. Raven comes in the ring stomps his boot to “load it up” and boots Hack in the head. Richards comes back in the ring covers and gets the 3 in 4.42.

Joey runs down the last match then talks about the recent injuries to Hack, Sabu and Ron Simmons. We go to Club Expo this past week where ECW made its NY debut on TV and Tag Team Champions Public Enemy crashed the party. Douglas showed up with a bunch of broads. Joey recaps what happened with Paul Lauria and Mikey Whipwreck last week and we go to the footage.

The Extreme Encyclopedia makes it’s debut (I think). I fucking hate these.

Douglas parties at the club. Joey catches up with Douglas and he talks about hot girls that are with him. We see highlights of last weeks main event. Ron Simmons says that Douglas is tough and if he was black he would have been accepted in the hood. Simmons hypes the Florida shows.

2 Cold Scorpio is in the ring and he calls out Benoit and Dean Malenko. Scorpio says next week in Florida Benoit’s ass is his. Scorpio ends up attacking but Benoit hits a full nelson suplex. Double team slingshot. Malenko then hits a double underhook power bomb and Benoit comes off the middle rope with a leg drop. They continue the beat down and then Sandman’s music hits to his match with Scorp. Sandman takes like five hours getting into the ring so Scorpio should be fine by the time the match starts.

Sandman (w/ Woman) vs. 2 Cold Scorpio, ref Jim Molineaux
Sandman finally decides he should attack and the match is underway. Hanging vertical by Sandamn. Top rope leg drop by Sandman. He tosses Scorpio to the floor but then Scorpio fights back and leaps off the apron with a chair shot. In the ring Sandman nails Scorpio with the chair. Scorpio fights back and hits a splash off the top followed by a piledriver. Second splash attempt misses. After some brief back and forth Scorpio hits a moonsault from the top to a standing Sandman and gets the pin in 6.13. Benoit and Malenko attack after the match.

My thoughts on the show…
Well… I mean Raven debuted so thats worth something.

Malenko backs Richards to the ropes and breaks clean. Headlock and Malenko sent off the ropes and he knocks Richards down with a shoulder tackle. Malenko again backs Richards to the ropes but doesn’t break clean this time and then goes to work on the arm. This is a handheld so we see a lot of the back of a chair. Malenko continues with some submission work. Richards tries to mount a comeback but Malenko cuts it short and goes right back to the arm. Most of this match has taken place on the mat so we can’t really see much. Malenko takes it to the floor. Back in the ring for more submission stuff. Malenko with a samoan drop around the 11 minute mark for a 2 count. Powerslam by Malenko for a 2 count. We get a bell and a draw at 15.48.

Bulldog by Windham ends things in 8.23.

Jason vs. Mikey Whipwreck, ref Jim Molineaux
I hate the guy filming this. Mikey ducks a line and hits one of his own then sends Jason into the corner. Mikey follows with a clothesline. Jason comes back with a belly to belly. Mikey with another clothesline. Jason cuts Mikey off and sends him through the ropes. Jason drops Mikey on the top rope. Back elbow by Jason. Gutwrench power bomb for 2. The ref finally decides that he should DQ Jason at 10 minutes. Dean with a superplex and texas cloverleaf. Tazmaniac comes in and goes after Malenko. Taz hits a tbone.

TV Champion Dean Malenko vs. Tazmaniac, ref Jim Molineaux
This seems to have turned into an official match. Dean hits a snap suplex. Malenko with a rib breaker. Abdominal stretch by Malenko and he uses the ropes for some added leverage. Taz comes back with a release german that puts Malenko on his stomach. Taz goes up top but gets shoved off by Chris Benoit and the ref calls for the DQ. 911 and Jason come out. Jason gets chokeslammed and hit with a half nelson suplex.

Falls Count Anywhere Match: Cactus Jack vs. Sandman (w/ Woman), ref Jim Molineaux

Sandman beats on Cactus then hits a fameasser from the top rope. Cactus fights back and hits a swinging neck breaker. Woman on the apron with the cane. Sandman comes from behind but Cactus moves. Woman stops before hitting Sandman. Sandman moves out of the way and she nails Jack. DDT by Sandman and he gets a 2 count. Cactus fights back and brings it to the floor. Cactus gets a chair and nails Sandman over and over again but Sandman won’t go down. Cactus finally gets him down by duplexing a table onto him. Sandman bleeding and he fights back and gets the cane and nails Cactus. Cactus now busted open and Sandman hits a piledriver. Cactus now gushing blood. Sandman charges Jack in the corner but catches a foot to the face. Jack beats away on Sandman and gets the cane. Sandman takes a few cane shots and stumbles to the floor. Jack follows and we lose sight of th exaction for a bit. Sandman with a chair to the back of Cactus. Sandman falls off the big rodeo gate. Camera fan films a bunch of dudes asses. A fan tries to get involved in the action and gets kicked out. Cactus with a front suplex off the gate. Back to ringside they go. Cactus with a sunset flip off the apron and he gets the 3 count in 13.42.

2 Cold Scorpio vs. Chris Benoit
Not sure how many times these guys wrestled but their match at WCW Superbrawl 3 was amazing. Scorpio uses his speed to avoid Benoit and Benoit goes to the floor. Benoit on the apron and he rams Scorpio’s head into the turnbuckle then comes off the top with a cross body. Benoit follows it up with a clothesline and sleeper hold drop. Benoit with some chops and a slam and he goes into a boston crab. Scorpio gets to the ropes to force a break. Belly to back gets 2 from Benoit. Leg drop between the legs and then he crotches Benoit on the top rope. Scorpio misses a splash in the corner but then ducks a line from Benoit. Scorpio goes for a tombstone but Benoit reverses it and hits one of his own. Benoit goes up top and hits the head butt but only gets a 2. Slam and leg drop from the second rope but Scorpio kicks out again. Benoit goes for a super belly to back but Scorpio reverses mid air and lands on top getting a 2 count. Slam by Scorpio followed by a nice looking moonsault but he can’t put Benoit away. Scorpio with a kick to the back of the head. He goes for a suplex but Benoit flips behind and locks in a full nelson. Scorpio slips out and drops to the mat and goe for a roll up but Benoit drops down hooking the legs and getting the 1, 2 and 3 in 13.30. They trash talk each other mic after the match.

Tag Team Champions Public Enemy vs. Death Row 3260 & Mr. President, ref Jim Molineaux
Johnny Grunge hops into the crowd and tries to start a fight. “Flyboy” Rocco Rock on the mic talks shit about the fans. Rock starts with President. PE leave because the fans chant “jailbird” so the ref threatens to count them out and give their titles away. Five minutes in and it’s been all mic work and playing with the crowd. Some type of edit on the tape. Sound system keeps going off. President hits cross body and they both go over the top rope. Grunge and Deahtrow come in and fight a bit. Rock and President brawl in the crowd. God this has been going on forever. Rock getting killed with a chair. Not seeing much of the action here. What we do see is just a giant brawl. President fucks up the bump on a reverses DDT and Rock hits a drive by for the win in 19.20.

World Champion “The Franchise” Shane Douglas vs. Ron Simmons, ref Jom Molineaux
Douglas on the mic before hand. Loud “We want Flair” chant. Douglas attacks Simmons before the bell but quickly gets powerslammed. Simmons with a press slam for 2. Power bomb and we clip to Smmions hitting a football tackle and clothesline over the top. Few more clips of the brawl outside the ring. Douglas works over the hurt shoulder. TONS of clipping and now 2 Cold Scorpio is in the ring with Simmons and the match gets stopped as Simmons can’t continue. Douglas on the mic again he calls everyone in Florida a loser. Lots of clipping in his interview then apparently Tully Blanchard hit the ring. More clipping and that’s it. Just over 4 minutes of the match was shown.

My thoughts on the show…
The show was filmed fairly well for once. Didn’t see much of the two brawls but with the action everywhere those would be tough to film. Nothing is need to see here but if you do check out this show make sure you mute it as the guy filming was ridiculously annoying.
