Daniel Bryan’s Status With WWE Officials On The Decline

0

Source: PWInsider Elite

When Daniel Bryan’s return to WWE TV was announced last Monday for the Money In the Bank pre-show, the feeling at RAW among some of the wrestlers was that Bryan is no longer seen as someone that officials want to put back in the main event right away. It was said that someone like John Cena, Batista or Triple H wouldn’t be brought back on a pre-show in a minimal role.

There’s also a feeling within WWE that Bryan’s bubble has popped, so to speak. It’s also said that there are definitely higher-ups who feel that Bryan got injured when they needed him the most so they’re more hesitant to let him run with the ball. Furthermore, there are also people who still bring up how Bryan was scheduled to face Sheamus at WrestleMania XXX at one point until CM Punk quit the company and WWE gave Bryan the push.

News On The Undertaker’s Health And His Possible WWE Return

0

We noted earlier this month via The Wrestling Observer that The Undertaker was still in rough shape after his WrestleMania XXX match against Brock Lesnar and that while Taker had been in the gym working out, he told some people that it wasn’t looking good for WrestleMania 31.

PWInsider confirms the report that Taker is still in bad shape and really banged up from suffering the concussion. Taker’s status for next year is still up in the air and there will be no confirmation on it and when he will return until later this year.

WWE News: Battleground Matches Announced, HHH vs. Reigns Push Back?, More

It appears local advertising for WWE’s Battleground pay-per-view on July 20th in Tampa has leaked out a few days early.
The two main events announced are Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton and Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins.

Also advertised to appear are John Cena, Bray Wyatt, Kane, Rob Van Dam, Sheamus, Cesaro, Big Show, Alberto Del Rio, Bad News Barrett and Kofi Kingston.

There was at least some talk within WWE of saving Roman Reigns vs. Triple H until the September Night of Champions pay-per-view as a big match that will help push WWE Network renewals for the earlier subscribers. It was reported that Reigns vs. Kane would take place at Battleground with Reigns vs. Orton at SummerSlam, if they went that route but as we noted this morning, Reigns vs. Orton is already booked for Battleground.

There was also talk of doing a possible swerve at Money In the Bank with Orton winning the WWE World Heavyweight Title, leading to Reigns vs. John Cena vs. Orton at Battleground. That would have been when Cena wins the title to set up Cena vs. Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam.

Spoiler Details On Dixie Carter Suffering An Injury At This Week’s TNA Tapings

Source: PWInsider

As noted in our Thursday night TNA spoilers from New York City, Bully Ray finally put Dixie Carter through a table with a powerbomb off the top rope, similar to how he did with Mae Young years ago.

Dixie was not at Friday night’s tapings and word is that she’s legitimately hurt from the table spot.

One source claimed Dixie was pretty banged up, even though Bully did everything possible to protect her. Dixie is not a trained wrestler and this would have been her first big bump, which is going to hurt to most people that aren’t trained.

Stories going around backstage were that Dixie suffered a concussion and/or aggravated an already existing back issue. While many people are saying it’s a legitimate injury, there are a few people who think it’s just a work.

There were also a lot of people that were impressed with Dixie putting her health on the line for the sake of a storyline. Word is that the table angle will close out Dixie’s current storyline. She was stretchered out after the table spot.

Stephanie McMahon recently spoke with The Boston Herald to promote WWE Money In the Bank. Below are some highlights:

Crediting Boston University for her success, where she studied communications at:

“From film production to television production to creative writing to public speaking to marketing to advertising, BU is basically a school to help prepare you for all of the many facets of WWE.”

Her father Vince McMahon’s contributions to the business:

“My father coined the phrase, ‘sports entertainment.’ Vince let the world in on that, yes, this is actually predetermined and, yes, we are having fun. He was the one who created this live action-adventure soap opera.”

The new Connor’s Cure charity:

“This is all about developing and donating for pediatric brain and spinal cancer research. We’re trying to help fund the research to help stop the cancer.”

Being excited to unveil the future of the business:

“WWE continues to grow and expand at a rate faster than anyone can possibly imagine. We have over 360 million social media followers, and we have over 12 million downloads of our app. But I have to say, even given all that, we’re just getting warmed up.”

Why Daniel Bryan Was Added To MITB Pre-show, Stephanie Praised At RAW

– The pre-show for WWE Money In the Bank will be available on Facebook, WWE.com and other outlets as a way to try and hook people to either subscribe to the WWE Network or buy the pay-per-view. Daniel Bryan’s segment was put on the pre-show to try and get a big audience of non-buyers for the pre-show, and likely shoot an angle or do something with that time to try and get late buys.

– Stephanie McMahon was praised backstage for how she looked like the second coming of Vince McMahon on RAW in the segments with Vickie Guerrero.

For former Strikeforce champion Nate Marquardt, UFC Fight Night 43 from Auckland, New Zealand was just what he needed. Marquardt met James Te Huna in the main event on Fight Pass early Saturday morning, scoring a first round armbar submission victory.

Jared Rosholt was the winner in the co-main event, scoring a decision at heavyweight over Soa Palelei. Charles Oliveira and Robert Whittaker also claimed main card wins.

Bonuses were awarded to Marquardt and Oliveira for their “Performance of the Night,” while the opening bout on the prelims between Gian Villante and Sean O’Connell earned the “Fight of the Night.” All four picked up an additional $50,000. The attendance was announced at 8,089 with a live gate of $913,000.
