Rumors On Tonight’s Raw, The Balor Club, Randy Orton, Baron Corbin’s Status

Former WWE Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton has been out with an injury since 2015, and there’s been some speculation as to what caused the injury. Orton spoke to AfterBuzz TV this weekend to clear the air.

Orton said that he had a match last fall in Chicago in which stretched a capsule in his shoulder. It had been rumored that his shoulder dislocated simply taking out the trash at home.

“I had a match October (12) in Chicago. My shoulder got stretched back, and I had a repair 12 years ago that was destroyed. I had a little pain, got an MRI and was told (they) had to fix my shoulder again,” Orton explains. “I had a new guy do it and had a stabilization done that they do to rugby players get, and they’re some tough customers.

Orton, who was seen at the WWE Hall of Fame without a sling, updated us on his recovery, but was very vague, throwing out several time frames. He also spoke about how much time he has left in wrestling.

“A couple months, maybe 3-4, 2 weeks. Maybe there’s an RKO out of nowhere (in Dallas). I’m not quite ready to be back on the road,” Orton says. “I still have 5-10 years left, but who knows? I feel like I’m nowhere near done.”

Orton also commented on Daniel Bryan’s retirement, and the possibility of Bryan going into the WWE Hall of Fame.

“He wasn’t with the WWE as long as a lot of these Hall of Famers were, but I feel like what he’s put his body through in the business, I would love to see him cutting a speech and getting inducted. He’s a hell of a guy,” Orton said.

– Baron Corbin is now officially on WWE’s main roster, according to PWInsider. Last night’s Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal win was apparently his call-up.

– There’s been a lot of rumor and speculation on WWE NXT Champion Finn Balor, Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson debuting on tonight’s post-WrestleMania 32 RAW from Dallas. We know all three are in town but none of the speculation has been confirmed by any source.

For what it’s worth, Rob Feinstein noted on social media that “The Balor Club” would be starting a feud with WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day on RAW tonight. As noted, The New Day will be defending their titles against Sheamus and King Barrett. Keep in mind Feinstein’s story has not been confirmed, so continue to treat this as speculation.

I reached out to a source at RAW and they said unless WWE has gone out of their way to keep it a secret, which they probably would, it doesn’t look like they will be debuting tonight but that’s not saying they will not. With that said, the source noted that there is absolutely something planned for tonight that relates to NXT, likely a call-up.

A new graphic e-mailed out by WWE Network today confirms that rapper Snoop Dogg will be inducted into the Celebrity Wing of the WWE Hall of Fame next Saturday night in Dallas.

WWE also issued the following today:

Joan Lunden to receive 2016 Warrior Award at 2016 WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony
Joan Lunden, an award-winning journalist, best-selling author and breast cancer survivor, has been named the recipient of the second annual Warrior Award, which will be presented at the 2016 WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Saturday, April 2 from American Airlines Center in Dallas, live on WWE Network at 8 ET/5 PT. The announcement was made by WWE Superstar John Cena on NBC’s “TODAY.”

The Warrior Award is given to someone who has exhibited unwavering strength and perseverance, and who lives life with the courage and compassion that embodies the indomitable spirit of WWE Hall of Famer The Ultimate Warrior. The award will be presented to Lunden by The Ultimate Warrior’s widow, Dana Warrior. In June 2014, Lunden was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer, which required chemotherapy, surgery and radiation. Lunden made the decision to take her battle public and has since shared her journey through cancer treatment, becoming a prominent voice in the breast cancer community.

“It is truly humbling to be honored by WWE and receive this year’s Warrior Award at the 2016 WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony,” Lunden said. “After being diagnosed with cancer, my first thought was to survive, but soon after, I changed my focus from my cancer to the fight against cancer and my life took on a whole new purpose. WWE has welcomed me into their family, offering me warmth and support, as have so many of the WWE fans from around the world. It is a privilege to receive this honor.”

“On behalf of my family, we are proud to present this year’s Warrior Award to Joan Lunden,” said Dana Warrior. “Joan embodies all that this award was meant to capture. She is a testament to the strength of the human spirit and the quintessential Warrior woman. It will be an honor to recognize her at this year’s WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.”

“Joan Lunden has been an incredible role model to so many people and it is an honor to recognize her as the second annual Warrior Award recipient,” said Stephanie McMahon, WWE Chief Brand Officer. “The will and perseverance she gracefully displayed in her fight against breast cancer is an inspiration to millions of women around the world.”

An eternal optimist, Lunden decided to turn her diagnosis into an opportunity to inspire others in the breast cancer community. Through her website, JoanLunden.com, and her social media channels, Lunden has created an online community dedicated to people living with and surviving from breast cancer. From her consistent journaling throughout her breast cancer treatment, Lunden wrote her most recent book, “Had I Known: A Memoir of Survival,” which documents her battle with cancer and provides a reflective look back at her life and career. Lunden continues to be an advocate for those diagnosed with the disease, making trips to Capitol Hill, and as a special correspondent for “TODAY’s” Pink Power series.

Last year, the Warrior Award was presented for the first time ever to Connor Michalek, a Pittsburgh native and passionate WWE fan who passed away from cancer. In his honor, Connor’s Cure was created as a fund within Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation to support pediatric brain and spinal cord cancer research. To date, Connor’s Cure has raised $1 million and assisted more than 100 families around the world.

The 2016 WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony airs live on the eve of WrestleMania, Saturday, April 2, at 8 ET/5 PT, only on WWE Network.

Chris Jericho And Charles Robinson Talk Recent WWE RAW Injury Incident With Neville

A recent episode of Chris Jericho’s “Talk Is Jericho” podcast featured Chris Jericho talking to WWE referee Charles Robinson. The full interview can be heard at this link.

Regarding the recent incident on RAW with Jericho, Robinson and Neville, Jericho admitted he shoved Robinson to cause the disqualification. Jericho said he and Neville were working towards Neville’s comeback when Neville landed awkwardly on the ankle. Neville immediately said to Jericho, “I think I broke my ankle.” Robinson said he saw Neville “selling over to the ropes” and didn’t understand why, suspecting he was injured. Robinson was asking Neville over and over if he’s hurt, trying to figure out if he was just selling. Jericho assumed Neville told Robinson about the injury so he went for the roll-up to get heat. Robinson counted to two and says he never saw Neville’s shoulder come off the mat. Jericho assumed Robinson was just protecting the finish of the match.

Robinson said he remembered Jericho’s reaction, noting that he saw the anger in Jericho’s eyes after the two count. Jericho then pushed Robinson, which Robinson said was “harder than Roman Reigns” and Jericho responded, “Well that’s because I’m from Canada and he’s from Samoa or whatever.” Robinson said he didn’t know why Jericho shoved him and it caught him off guard. Robinson almost shoved Jericho back but instead told him, “Don’t you ever f–king touch me again.” Robinson added that he knew Jericho was mad because he’s “seen his acting, and he’s not that good.”

Has WWE Had Any Contact With Eric Young And Bobby Roode Since Leaving TNA?

Source: F4WOnline

As noted, former TNA World Heavyweight Champions Eric Young and Bobby Roode are no longer with the company after recently requesting their releases.

There has been a lot of speculation and rumors about the two good friends possibly signing with WWE. Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio today that WWE has had contact with both men through an intermediary. Apparently they were more interested in Young than Roode, but that does not mean they wouldn’t bring Roode on if everything worked out.

No word yet on if WWE is in talks with the two wrestlers but we will keep you updated.

Update: The Miz Responds To Injury Rumors, Will He Compete At WrestleMania 32?

0

Rumors were flying last night that former WWE Champion The Miz had sustained an injury as he was limping to the back after selling a Patriot Lock at a live event.

The Miz took to twitter this afternoon to say that he actually isn’t injured, and that he’s just good at his job. He also said that he’s still competing at WrestleMania and will win the Intercontinental Title.

You can view the initial post below…

The Miz may have suffered a leg injury at tonight’s WWE live event in Richmond, Virginia.

After his win over Jack Swagger by pinfall, Miz was put in the Patriot Lock but our correspondent in attendance noted that it looked like Miz legitimately hurt himself. He went straight to the back and was limping badly. Another user on Twitter wrote, “Miz broke something.”

Miz is currently scheduled to face WWE Intercontinental Champion Kevin Owens, Sin Cara, Sami Zayn, Dolph Ziggler, Stardust and Zack Ryder in a Ladder Match at WrestleMania 32 next Sunday. We’ll keep you updated on what happened tonight, if anything.

Slick To Induct The Big Boss Man Into The WWE Hall Of Fame

0

WWE announced today that Slick will be inducting the Big Boss Man into the WWE Hall of Fame next Sunday. Slick managed the Big Boss Man when the Boss Man debuted with the WWF in 1988.

Below is the announcement from WWE:

On the eve of WrestleMania 32, Big Boss Man will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by the manager who brought him into WWE, Slick.
It was The Doctor of Style who first introduced Big Boss Man to the WWE Universe in 1988, helping the former corrections officer from Cobb County, Ga. bring his painful brand of justice to the squared circle. Slick often distracted officials while Big Boss Man cuffed his opponents to the rope and bashed them with his ever-present nightstick.

Slick also paired Boss Man with one of his other charges, Akeem, forming one of the most monstrous teams in WWE history, The Twin Towers. Their partnership fractured in 1990, when Slick tried to sell the Big Boss Man’s services to another Hall of Famer, The Million Dollar Man. Now, Slick will honor his former charge as he takes his place in history.

Don’t miss Big Boss Man’s induction into the WWE Hall of Fame’s Class of 2016, Saturday, April 2, live and only on WWE Network!
