WCW Saturday Night 6/3/1995

Written by: Bob Colling of Wrestling Recaps

World Championship Wrestling presents Saturday Night
Date:
6/3/1995
From: Atlanta, GA

Matches:
1.)Alex Wright defeated Manny Fernandez
2.)Sting defeated Dick Slater
3.)The Renegade defeated Bob Starr
4.)Harlem Heat defeated Mike Khory & Scott Amore
5.)Ric Flair vs. Randy Savage never happened

Angle Developments/Notes:
1.Tonight, Randy Savage will be in action against Ric Flair in the main event. WCW Television Champion Arn Anderson comes over and cuts a promo saying that Savage is afraid of Flair in the backstage area. We see Savage getting ready backstage and he says he is ready to get a piece of Anderson and Flair right now. Sting and the Renegade are holding Savage back from doing anything.

2.Alex Wright kicked off the action with a squash match. He won the match following a top rope twisting cross body.

3.Next week Sting is wrestling Meng in a semifinal match. However, this week he is wrestling Dick Slater with Meng at ringside. During the match, Sting had a roll up on Slater but Parker got on the apron to prevent the pin. Meng accidentally kicks Slater from the apron and Sting gets the pin fall victory. Bobby Heenan’s reaction is hilarious. After the match, Meng gets in Sting’s face but they don’t trade blows.

4.This is the debut of the Renegade on Saturday Night. Renegade wins the squash match after a top rope big splash. After the match, Tony Schiavone interviews Arn Anderson again. He will be defending the WCW Television Championship against the Renegade at the Great American Bash. Tony says that Flair hasn’t even arrived to the building yet. Anderson says that Flair is taking his time and is perfectly fine. Backstage, Savage continues to try to get out but Sting is holding him back. Savage appears to have broken free but we go to commercial.

5.Footage from Slamboree where a mystery man appeared on the big screen and talked to Kevin Sullivan. This looks like the start of the Dungeon of Doom.

6.We go to a video of woods where Sullivan is running through as he looks to meet his master. His master wants to end Hulkamania. Sullivan vanishes out of nowhere to meet his master, I guess. That was rather odd.

7.The former WCW World Tag Team Champions competed in tag action this week. They won the match after Booker hit the Harlem Hangover off the top rope. After the match, Mean Gene conducted an interview with them. Sherri Martel doesn’t understand how Harlem Heat didn’t get a return match. They want their chance to regain the tag team titles. They aren’t going to stop plowing through tag teams until they get their titles back.

8.There is only six minutes left in the show as Savage makes his way out. Something fishy is going to happen. Savage doesn’t wait and goes to look for Flair backstage. He finds Flair and hammers away on Flair. Anderson gets into the picture and is tossed onto a table. Officials are trying to break up the fight. Flair kicks Savage a few times. Sting and Renegade run into the picture and they are all starting to pull everyone apart. Flair runs outside of the building but Savage chases after Flair. Savage tries to get in the limo but Flair and Anderson escape.

9.We hear from Nick Bockwinkel who says that now Meng vs. Sting will be for the vacant WCW United States Championship and that will happen at the Great American Bash! Col. Robert Parker who says that he is happy about this and believes that in either situation Meng was going to win the championship. That’s a wrap!

Final Thoughts:
There is nothing to see here, at all. Yeah, the Savage/Flair brawl was fine and different but there isn’t anything that happened here that was entertaining or interesting. So, I’m giving this a thumbs down.

WCW Saturday Night 6/10/1995

World Championship Wrestling presents Saturday Night
Date:
6/10/1995
From: Atlanta, GA

Matches:
1.)The Renegade defeated Dave Dalton
2.)Diamond Dallas Page defeated Frankie Lancaster
3.)WCW World Tag Team Champions The Nasty Boys defeated Sonny Trout & Rick Thames
4.)Ric Flair defeated Alex Wright

Angle Developments/Notes:
1.The program starts off with the Renegade competing in action. You know it’s going to be a good show when that happens! Renegade took care of business following a top rope big splash. After the match Jimmy Hart talks about how excited he is about the Renegade taking on Arn Anderson at the Great American Bash. Renegade actually speaks and says he is going to show Anderson what intensity is all about!

2.A fan gives the Diamond Doll a present that Dave Sullivan gave him. It ends up being a stuffed bunny but DDP rips the bunny in half. DDP won his squash match after the Diamond Cutter. After the match, DDP says he wants Dave Sullivan right now. Dave appears and DDP tells him to stop giving his girl stuff or talking to her. DDP wants Dave to put a real bunny on the line to get a chance for a date with Diamond Doll. I guess they agree to a match.

3.Kevin Sullivan has arrived to the dungeon. Kevin says that no one can beat Hogan and doesn’t understand why he is being singled out. The master says Kevin will be successful in destroying Hulk Hogan.

4.The Nasty Boys competed in tag action this week on Saturday Night. They won their squash match after Sags hit a top rope elbow drop. After the match, Mean Gene talks to the champs about wrestling the Blue Bloods at the Great American Bash. Sags says they are going to stroll down Nastyville and says that it’s not a place they should want to be. Knobbs thinks they are going to be the nastiest they have ever been against the Blue Bloods!

5.Flair is actually in action this week against Alex Wright. He comes off the ropes early on and is met with a quick dropkick! Wright begins to work on Flair’s left arm with several knee drops while keeping a hammerlock on. Flair gains control of the bout with a few loud chops in the corner. Wright battles back with a backdrop and a dropkick. Flair is knocked to the floor where Randy Savage is being held back by several people trying to get his hands on Flair! Wright nearly rolls Flair up for a three count. Wright sunset flips Flair but isn’t able to keep flair down long enough. Wright misses a cross body and hits the ropes throat first. Flair stomps away on Wright as they are on the floor. Back in the ring, Flair has the figure four leg lock on Wright! Wright is trying to reach the ropes but is struggling. He manages to reach the bottom rope. Wright almost rolls Flair up for a win. They begin to trade strikes in the corner with Wright getting the better of the exchange. Wright gets a two count after a backdrop. Flair comes off the ropes and is met with a spinning heel kick, which gets Wright a two count. Flair goes to the top rope but is slammed off by Wright! Wright misses a twisting cross body block off the top rope! Flair rolls through a roll up and pins Wright with a handful of tights! After the match, Flair kicks Wright in the face and poses for the crowd. Randy Savage runs out again and punches Flair several times as other people try to pull him off. Flair escapes to the backstage area.

Final Thoughts:
Well, it was a better week compared to the last weeks episode that was for sure. The main event was a decent match and at least provided some kind of entertainment on the show. Aside from the main event, there was yet again nothing to see here.

WCW Saturday Night 6/17/1995

World Championship Wrestling presents Saturday Night
Date:
6/17/1995
From: Atlanta, GA

Matches:
1.)Brian Pillman defeated Romeo Valentino
2.)Harlem Heat defeated Tommy Tanner & Todd Zane
3.)Vader defeated Eddie Jackie
4.)Dave Sullivan defeated Butch Long
5.)WCW Television Champion Arn Anderson defeated Rob Thompson
6.)Sgt. Craig Pittman defeated Chris Sawyer
7.)Paul Orndorff defeated Barry Houston
8.)Road Warrior Hawk defeated Manny Fernandez
9.)WCW World Tag Team Champions The Nasty Boys fought the Blue Bloods to a no contest to retain the titles.

Angle Developments/Notes:
1.Brian Pillman opens the program competing in singles action. He will be wrestling Alex Wright at the Great American Bash, by the way. Pillman won the match with a submission after hitting a side Russian leg sweep. After the match, Mean Gene conducted an interview with Pillman. He puts over Alex Wright as a great athlete. He believes the loser will be out of the title picture for a long time.

2.Former WCW World Tag Team Champions Harlem Heat won their squash match when Booker hit the Harlem Hangover on Tanner. After the match, Mean Gene conducts an interview with Harlem Heat. Sister Sherri is mad that Harlem Heat didn’t get their rematch at the Great American Bash. They don’t really promote their match against the Stud Stable, and instead just continue to say they are coming for their titles.

3.A video of Kevin Sullivan in a dungeon talking to his master is shown. Sullivan tells his master that no one can beat Hulk Hogan. The master tells Sullivan to take the final steps, and he does. He returns from wherever he ran off to and he is now the Taskmaster. Sullivan now has the power to end Hulk Hogan.

4.Vader competed in singles action. He isn’t on the pay per view tomorrow night, so he will surely take his frustration about that on Eddie. Vader wins the squash after hitting a middle rope body splash. After the match, Vader cuts a promo about the Great American Bash where Hulk Hogan isn’t going to be. Vader believes that Hogan has been dodging him since Superbrawl. Yeah, they had a match at Uncensored. Vader must have forgotten about that one. Vader suggests Hogan should go back to Hollywood if he can’t face him like a man.

5.Dave Sullivan won his squash match with an upside down bearhug.

6.WCW Television Champion Arn Anderson won his squash match after hitting a DDT. After the match, Mean Gene conducts an interview with Anderson. Anderson tells the Renegade that paint and talking to the heavens isn’t going to be enough to take the championship away from him tomorrow night. Anderson says that Renegade is going to have to show him how tough he is from bell to bell.

7.Paul Orndorff won an extended squash match after hitting a pile driver. After the match, Paul Orndorff is interviewed and says that he will be once again the WCW Television Champion no matter who wins the championship tomorrow night. Orndorff rips on the fans for being stupid so he repeats himself several times.

8.Road Warrior Hawk won his squash match following a top rope clothesline. After the match, Mean Gene conducts an interview with Hawk. Hawk says he is cool, calm and collected. Hawk is like a virus who never goes away and just gets worse.

9.Sgt. Craig Pittman won his squash match with a cross arm breaker. After the match, Pittman talks to Mean Gene about his match tomorrow night against Marcus Alexander Bagwell. Huh, I guess Pittman is issuing an open challenge to anyone. He believes that no one can break his hold.

10.It’s time for the main event. All four men are in the ring with the champs getting the better of the Blue Bloods. Knobbs attacks Eaton on the floor while Sags hits Regal with a backdrop. Knobbs sends Eaton down some stairs and Regal is left alone in the ring! Regal is shoulder blocked by the champs and bails to the floor. Once order is restored, Regal takes Knobbs down with a drop toe hold. Sags enters and splashes Regal in the corner. Sags rubs Regal’s face into Knobbs’ armpit on the apron! Regal goes to the floor and he is disgusted! Eaton hits Sags with a right hand from the apron and Sags is worked on by Regal on the floor with several strikes. Eaton legally tags in but Sags hammers away on Eaton before tagging in Knobbs. The champs shoulder block Eaton to the floor. Eaton drops Sags with a swinging neck breaker on the floor! Moments later, Eaton is able to hit a top rope knee drop but Sags kicks out before three. For the record, Sags has been worked on for roughly four minutes. Eaton misses a splash in the corner. Knobbs gets the tag but the referee didn’t see the tag made. Sags is sent to the mat following an elbow/chop block and Regal hits a standing senton for a two count. Well, this match is thrown out when Harlem Heat enters the ring and attacks both teams. The Nasty Boys are the last team standing in the ring as they yank Sherri into the ring and Sags hits an atomic drop on her! It was a decent match as the opening to the match was a good brawl. I wasn’t overly bored by it, but it wasn’t exactly a thrilling match by any means.

Final Thoughts:
Since the pay per view is one day away, this was basically just a last minute hype job for the matches. It was fine in that regard, but there isn’t anything of note here or anything that you need to really see or know about it. So, go ahead and skip this one.

WCW Saturday Night 6/24/1995

World Championship Wrestling presents Saturday Night
Date:
6/24/1995
From: Atlanta, GA

Matches:
1.)WCW Television Champion The Renegade defeated John Forte
2.)Johnny B. Badd defeated Julio Sanchez
3.)Alex Wright defeated Butch Long
4.)Diamond Dallas Page defeated Chris Kanyon
5.)WCW United States Champion Sting & Road Warrior Hawk defeated Harlem Heat

Angle Developments/Notes:
1.The new WCW Television Champion The Renegade opened the action and won his squash quickly with a top rope body splash.

2.Tony Schiavone and Bobby Heenan hype up the situation between Vader and Hulk Hogan. We see a video from the Main Event pre-show from last Sunday. Vader cut off Nick Bockwinkel as he was talking about a rematch. Vader shoved Bockwinkel until Hogan came out and hit Vader with a chair over the back! Hogan and Vader had a pull apart brawl causing Sting and Jim Duggan to pull Hogan off of Vader. Bockwinkel announced later on that at Bash At The Beach, Hogan would defend the championship against Vader inside a steel cage.

3.Johnny B. Badd won his squash match this week after a top rope hurrican rana!

4.We get another video of the Taskmaster Kevin Sullivan in a dungeon saying he can’t wait for his next gift. The gift for Kevin Sullivan is none other than Kamala! Kamala appears and is slapping his belly as he hugs the master.

5.Alex Wright competed in singles action this week. Wright was able to win his squash match after hitting top rope cross body!

6.Randy Savage comes out to be interviewed by Mean Gene. Savage will be competing against Ric Flair at Bash At The Beach in a lumberjack match. Savage is aware of what Flair did to his father at the Great American Bash. Savage says that Flair will be a victim at Bash At The Beach!

7.DDP competed in singles action this week against Chris Kanyon (who is still just a jobber at this point). DDP earned the easy victory after delivering the Diamond Cutter. After the match, Mean Gene conducts an interview with DDP. DDP doesn’t want the attention on Diamond Doll but rather himself. He is sick and tired of Dave Sullivan sending Doll stuff but acknowledges that the date will happen.

8.The main event this week sees Harlem Heat take on Sting and Road Warrior Hawk. All four men go at it with Hawk sending Booker T to the floor following a shoulder block. The match legally starts off with Sting and Booker. Booker delivers a knee lift and chokes Sting. Sting counters a hip toss with one of his own and hits a dropkick. Ray enters and clubs away on Sting but misses a splash in the corner. Hawk enters the ring and hammers away on Ray until he is poked in the eyes. Ray drops Hawk with a clothesline. Booker enters and plants with a pile driver, but Hawk isn’t hurt by that at all. Hawk comes back with a clothesline and a dropkick for a two count on Booker. Sting tags in and hits a snap suplex on Booker for a two count. Hawk tags back in but misses Ray in the corner and hits his shoulder on the ring post. On the floor, Sister Sherri slaps Hawk. Booker nails Hawk with a leaping side kick. Booker avoids a backdrop by super kicking Hawk. Ray enters but is dropped by Hawk with a leaping shoulder block. Sting tags in and cleans house with a backdrop on Booker followed by a clothesline. Sting hits a splash in the corner and goes for the Scorpion Death Lock. Hawk cuts Ray off in the corner with right hands. Sherri gets on the top rope and barely hits Sting with a double axe handle, so Sting doesn’t sell it. Ray kicks Sting and Booker tosses Sting over the top to the floor. Hawk is now being double teamed until he is sent to the floor. Sting is on the top rope and hits a cross body on Booker to win the match!

9.Tony Schiavone interviews Sting and Hawk. Hawk says that he and Sting are good at smattering? Hawk knows that the people care because they keep on watching. I have no idea what Hawk is talking about. Sting cuts a promo about Meng wanting a rematch against him. Sting says he is going to lock in the Scorpion Death Lock on Meng.

Final Thoughts:
It wasn’t a bad show this week. I find it funny how Harlem Heat seemingly job to the two top babyfaces in a tag match at around the same point in time every year, or at least that’s what it seems like to me. The main event was a solid tag team match and I was surprised to actually see a fairly clean win. The pay per view looks to have a solid card lineup as well. I’ll give the show a mild thumbs up.

Thanks for reading.

The “OH MY GOD!” Review: ECW In Revere, Mass. 10/11/96

0

1996-10-11 at Wonderland Greyhound Park in Revere, MA

Champions
World: Sandman
TV: Shane Douglas
Tag Team: Gangstas

ECW makes their debut in town tonight so I’m sure the fans will be hyped. The ring announcer lets the fans know that Sandman is the new ECW World Champion and that Raven has taken a leave and will not be appearing tonight in case anyone wants a refund. Bill Alfonso hits the ring and calls out Tod Gordon. The commissioner hits the ring and after some words between the two they brawl. A bunch of ref and wrestlers come from the back to break things up.

Tag Team Champions The Gangstas vs. The Samoan Gangsta Party, ref John “Pee Wee” Moore

Good way to get the crowd hyped to start the show. The Samoans get more offense in than usual. New Jack pins Matty Smalls with the 187 chair shot in 3 minutes.

Johnny Smith vs. Doug Furnas, ref Jim Molineaux

Some mat wrestling back and forth for the first two minutes until Smith takes over on the arm of Furnas. Smith hits the ropes but Furnas catches him with an overhead belly to belly to take over. Furnas with some attacks in the corner and then a drop kick for 2. Powerslam but again Smith is able to kick out at 2. A high Boston crab but Smith gets to the ropes. Smith reverses a corner whip and powerslams Furnas coming out for 2. A 2nd rope drop kicks gets another 2. Nice looking German from Smith, Furnas just able to get out. Swinging neckbreaker but Furnas again sneaks out. Smith hits the ropes but Furnas hits a rana out of no where to pick up the victory in 6.57. Decent power match between the two international stars.

“Dangerous” Devon Storm vs. Louie Spicolli, ref Paul Richards

Things quickly go to the floor and Spicolli sends Storm into the guardrail. Back in the ring Spicolli hits a hip toss but Storm kicks up and flips off the crowd. He then turns into a northern lights for 2. Storm able to come back with a springboard leg lariat for 2. Suplex for another 2. Storm spends the next few minutes working over the leg of Spicolli and then dumps him to the floor and follows with a somersault plancha. Back in the ring Storm goes up top but Spicolli cuts him off and hits a superplex. Both men up at the same time and Spicolli fires away. Storm hits the ropes and gets spinebustered but kicks out at 2. Storm fires back but gets nailed with the DVD and it’s all over in 9.38. Spicolli again gets a huge reaction from the crowd as the fans just love this guy.

The F.B.I. (JT Smith & Little Guido) vs. Dudley Boys (w/ Sign Guy Dudley), ref John “Pee Wee” Moore

Spike Dudley is held back by Buh Buh Ray Dudley as Little Guido gets held back by JT Smith. They each jump and kick to try to get at each other as the fans chant “let them go”. It’s pretty humorous. Smith and Buh Buh eventually start. Buh Buh slaps Smith and again Spike and Guido charge the ring and have to be held apart. They do it a few more times and at this point it is much less humorous. Buh Buh hits a side slam. Smith tags out to Guido and then the F.B.I. try to get Spike to tag in. The crowd wants it to so in comes Spike. Guido slaps Spike hard across the face. Guido takes over with some stomps and a clothesline. Suplex gets a 2 count and Smith tags back in. Double team irish whip as Spike hits sternum first and hard. Smith hits the handspring moonsault for 2. Spike tries to mount a comeback but gets clotheslined down. The F.B.I. tag back and forth a few times until Spike is able to duck a double clothesline attempt. Buh Buh press Spike from the apron and throws him into both Guido and Smith. Spike able to make the tag to Buh Buh. Buh Buh comes in and hits a bossman slam on Smith. He then sits on the top rope as Spike climbs to his shoulders and jumps off with a splash. Guido breaks up the pin and then D-Von Dudley shows up in the ring with a chair. Big chair shot to the head of Buh Buh allows Smith to make the cover and pick up the victory for his team in 11.59. F.B.I. and D-Von continue the beat down after the match until Big Dick Dudley shows up. Dick chokelsmas both Guido and Smith. D-Von of course bails. Buh Buh dives over the top rope onto all three men. Took things a long time to get going but had a pretty hot ending. I was surprised that the F.B.I. picked up the win.

Mikey Whipwreck vs. Taz (w/ Bill Alfonso), ref Jim Molineaux

If I counted them all correctly this is the 9th meeting between these two men this year. Taz with an Alabama slam early on and then a head and arm Tazplex. Taz just beating the crap out of Mikey as we are 5 minutes into the match. Northern lights with a bridge for 2. Alfonso’s whistle is extra annoying today. Mikey able to get in a belly to back and a super kick both getting him a 2 count. Mikey with a slam and he goes up top but gets caught in a belly to belly suplex and then taken over with a wheel barrel slam. Taz locks in the Tazmission and Mikey passes out in 6.50. Taz trash talks the crowd and threatens to kill people in the crowd because he is an angry troll. Things get so heated between Taz and one fan that Tommy Dreamer actually comes into the crowd to talk to the fan and keep him from jumping the rail. This actually seemed pretty legit.

– Tag Team Champions the Gangstas are in the ring and New Jack hypes up the crowd and trash talks the WWF and WCW.

TV Champion “The Franchise” Shane Douglas (w/ Francine) vs. Pitbull 2, ref Paul Richards

Douglas gets the mic but the crowd is all over him making it difficult to hear him. Pitbull hits the ring and gets right on Shane a clothesline sends him over the top rope and through a table. We cut to them brawling at the merch table briefly and then cut to them getting back into the ring. Pitbull with a suplex and terrible looking spin kick. Shane goes low to take control of the match. Swinging neck breaker and a piledriver are followed by a brain buster. Pitbull no sells it and is right back up to beat on Shane. Pitbull with a piledriver of his own has Shane down. Pitbull beats on Shane in a corner and ends up pushing the ref out of the way a few times. He eventually punches him to stop him from getting in his way. Francine comes in to distract Pitbull allowing Shane to take out the knee. Pitbull also no sells this and goes right back at Shane. A few wrestlers come out from the back and we get a bell after 7.13 of the match is shown. Pitbull hits a fallaway slam on John Moore who also came out. Match is officially ruled a DQ. I guess even in ECW you can’t hit a ref. Paul Richards is a bitch.

Weapons Match: Tommy Dreamer (w/ Beulah) vs. “Primetime” Brian Lee (w/ Blue Meanie & Super Nova), ref Jim Molineaux

Four garbage cans full of weapons are placed in each corner in the ring. Lee jumps Dreamer as he slides into the ring and the fight is on. They brawl all over the arena, to the outside, back into and through the arena again and then into the ring. Once back in the ring Dreamer immediately hits a DDT and gets the pin in 6.33. Nova and Meanie eye Beulah after the match and also get DDTed. Lee chokeslams Dreamer after the match and then again through one of the merch tables.

The Eliminators vs. Erotic Experience, ref Paul Richards

This is what we call a cool down match. “Precious” Pat Day dances to the ring while G.Q. Gorgeous Quartermaine (Chris Chetti) simply walks showing zero emotion or charisma. Many gay slurs being thrown their way by the fans and the Eliminators. If these guys could actually work they might have been able to do something in ECW. Saturn starts with Day. Day side steps Saturn a few times on a lock up attempt. I have a feeling that’s just going to piss off Saturn. Day with a hammer lock and he slaps Saturn across the face. GQ tags in and the Eliminators hit a double clothesline on him. Kronus with a fall away slam and hand spring elbow in the corner. Tag to Saturn Kronus with a rolling Samoan drop and Saturn comes off the top with a splash. Day breaks up the pin at 2. GQ able to make the tag and Day hits a drop kick then dances. The Experience with the advantage for a bit. Saturn tries to make a come back with a falcons arrow but is cut off. I’m getting confused as to what’s taking this match so long. Day with a crossbody off the top and then he tags out. GQ hits a pretty nice leg drop from the top but Kronus breaks it up. They tag back a forth a few more times until Saturn is able to make a come back and tag Kronus. Kronus is fired up and nails both opponents with a spin kick and then tags Saturn. Kronus puts Day across his knee and Saturn comes off the top with a knee to the throat. GQ breaks up the pin. GQ thrown to the floor and Saturn planchas onto him. Total elimination to Day and it’s all over in 13.29.

Sabu vs. Too Cold Scorpio, ref Jim Molineaux

Scorpio returns to ECW after nearly 2 months out. The last time we saw him was on August 18th against Saturn. Scorpio with the early advantage as he beats down Sabu. Sabu hits a back kick that sends Scorpio to the floor and he follows him out with a plancha. Scorpio sent into the crowd and Sabu comes flying out of the ring with a triple jump chair shot to Scorpio’s face. Scorpio is on the apron now and Sabu tries to hit a rana but Scorpio powerbombs him into the ring. Scorp with a flying clothesline for 2. Sabu floats over a clothesline and then springboards off the ropes with a leg lariat. Scorpio comes back with a crossbody and superkick. Scorpio places Sabu on the turnbuckle but Sabu is able to leap off the second one and hit a tornado DDT and moonsault for 2. Powerbomb from Scorpio and he comes off the top with a leg drop for 2. Back drop sends Sabu over the top rope and to the floor. They go into the crowd and through out the building. Back in the ring Scorpio gets his knees up on a moonsault press and then hits a top rope splash for 2. Scorpio goes to the apron and tries to flip into the ring the Sabu moves. Sabu now goes to the apron and hits the somersault leg drop back in for 2. They go back to the floor and Scorpio uses a chair a few times. Sabu fights him off and puts him on a table. Sabu charges but Scorpio slides back into the ring. Sabu is on the apron and Scorpio now charges and tries to crossbody block Sabu through the table. Sabu ducks and Scorpio basically splashes the table. This spot looked really cool. Sabu goes for a triple jump leg drop back in the ring but Scorpio moves. Scorp goes up top and misses a moonsault. Sabu now hits a triple jump DDT! He gets the pin in 18.28 and a loud “Sabu” chant breaks out. Scorpio attacks after the match and they fight to the back. I enjoyed this one quite a bit.

World Champion Sandman vs. Stevie Richards (w/ Blue Meanie & Super Nova), ref Paul Richards

We have 12 minutes left in the show and still have to sit through Richards and gang on the mic and Sandman’s entrance so not sure how we are going to fit in a match here. Sandman charges with the cane but misses Stevie. Stevie hits a stevie kick followed by a bunch of cane shots. Sandman throws Stevie out of the ring and follows. After some brawling on the floor the tape ends before the end of the match. We get 1.42 of actual match time. As you can probably figure out, Sandman would go on to win.

My thoughts on the show…

Pretty decent show. Not at all upset over the missing main event. Sabu/Scorpio was good, as was Smith and Furnas. Mildly recommended.

THE GREAT MUTA RETURNS YAY! And there are other matches too. Unlike the last few W1 events I reviewed, this one is not as heavy with the TNA participation. Here is the full card:

– Kazushi Miyamoto vs. Kikutaro

Match Thoughts:  A quick and entertaining match.  When you have a six man tag that only goes six minutes, it has to be faced paced and this match certainly was.  Kondo was the star here but everyone was able to get their spots in to shine.  A good way to open up the event, it lacked substance but was still fun to watch.  Score:  6.5

Match Thoughts:   Even by the normal standards of Kikutaro’s match, this one was short and pointless.  I have no idea what they are doing with Miyamoto, he isn’t a useless wrestler by any means but is stuck with silly comedy matches.  Kikutaro matches can be fun and entertaining, this one just wasn’t long enough to reach that level.  Score:  3.0

Match Thoughts:   I really like HUB and it was fun to see him have such a competitive match with Tanaka.  In fact he dominated the match and hit all his big moves, sadly Tanaka still picked up the win.  It was a good display by HUB though and an entertaining match from start to finish.  I wish it was a bit longer, but they used the time they had the best they could to put on a really solid match.  Score:  7.0

Match Thoughts:   I’m not a big fan of these Hama matches, he has so few spots he can do so he just repeats the same ones ad nauseam.  Hard to believe he is a former Triple Crown Champion.  Sekimoto was game but obviously was limited by this opponent.  W1 events would be a lot better overall if they just stopped having these identical matches on every event, I can’t be the only one that gets tired of them.  Score:  3.0

Match Thoughts:  A really fun match.  Nakanoue showed some fire here, which he doesn’t always do, and Hino is a beast.  Yoshioka was mostly used to fly around and get beaten up, and he did fine at both of these things.  Too short to be an epic and HIROKI didn’t do a lot, but as it was presented I found it very entertaining.  Score:  7.5

Match Thoughts:   This wasn’t really given enough time to be anything of note.  Some of these wrestlers individually are very entertaining, but squeezed in a short six man tag they didn’t really get a chance to do anything special.  The hot tag to Fujinami was good but the ending was just so sudden, it just felt like there should have been more to do.  The action wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t memorable, not much to this match.  Score:  5.0

Match Thoughts:   I hadn’t seen Gasteren before, he seems like a perfectly fine wrestler.  Aside from one noticeable miscue I thought this was a really solid match.  Having Rounds is a nice touch, I don’t know if I would like it in every match ever but it was a nice change of pace here.  The action kept up the entire match which played into the theory that they have a chance to catch their breath between rounds.  Some iffy transitions but overall a fun match, better than I was expecting.  Score:  7.0

Match Thoughts:   This was a bit too much for my taste, which says a lot since I love Muta.  But three mists within a minute period is just overkill, it’s a cute spot but it doesn’t need to be spammed.  Also, Muta is broken and can’t walk… I know this is common knowledge but I figured I’d point it out again as it is distracting.  Anyway there were some fun individual moments in the match, just as TAJIRI’s failed Tarantula or Abyss slamming Kazarian into the tacks (even though it was a bit cheesy, what else would you expect from a match with Abyss and Muta in it?), overall it was just awkward.  Abyss is horrible now as he can’t even hit decent lariats, and with an average age of 43 there just wasn’t a wrestler to control things and make the match not go at a snail’s pace (which isn’t Kazarian’s fault but the others were dragging here).  As a ‘special attraction’, I get it, but as a match it just wasn’t very good.  Score:  4.0

Match Thoughts:  They really tried to make this feel epic, so I tip my hat to them, but it just wasn’t going to happen.  That is not to say it was a bad match, it wasn’t, but it wasn’t as good as they were trying to make it.  They were trying to do the ‘we are exhausted but still beating each other’ thing but the match was too short with no big moves to justify it.  It either has to be a long match, or there has to be blood for something for that to work, but doing it nine minutes into a pretty normal match it just feels forced.  They work together really well which is a plus and it held my attention, it just didn’t feel like a main event.  No lack of effort, it just didn’t feel like it was on the right spot on the card, something was missing.  Score:  6.5

Final Thoughts:

Best Match:  Yuji Hino and HIROKI vs. Nakanoue and Seiki Yoshioka. Hino matches are the secret gem of WRESTLE-1, I am sure he is always entertaining but this is the first time I’ve really gotten a chance to watch his matches and I’m impressed.  Nakanoue was on fire as well and Yoshioka flew around enough to be entertaining but not enough to be spotty.  HIROKI wasn’t special but didn’t do anything to hurt the match, and overall it was just a lot of fun to watch.

MVP:   Manabu Soya.  I know I didn’t say all nice things about their match, but I have to give them respect for giving it all they had.  Soya fought this like a hate-filled brawl… sometimes it felt forced but he went at it full vigor from start to finish.  He also has nice lariats and in general has been one of the more entertaining wrestlers in W-1.  He wasn’t perfect as some things are still coming together, but things are looking up overall.

Overall:   This certainly was not the worst WRESTLE-1 event I have seen this year.  It had a couple really fun matches and a solid main event that wasn’t great but had tons of effort.  I didn’t like everything, the Muta tag was too ‘special attraction’ even for my taste and the six man tag shoved too much into one match, but there was certainly more good than bad here.  If you have to watch something in W-1 for 2014, so far this is the event I’d recommend for overall value.

Multiple sources within TNA are reporting to PWInsider that the company really is finished with Spike TV and is expected to announce a new network soon.

TNA’s new deal is said to be extremely close to completed, if it’s not signed already. The new deal will reportedly be a multi-year deal, which means TNA has at least two more years left on TV.

Details of TNA’s new TV deal are unknown right now but they will reportedly be able to have more programming than just Impact Wrestling on the new network.

As noted earlier, Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio last week that officials at Destination America believe that a deal with TNA was completed. Destination is a channel in the Discovery Network that is available in 52% of the country. Meltzer noted that the number is actually high, because it counts all of the subscribers for a service like DirecTV, even though it is only available on the higher tier packages. The highest rated show in the history of Destination America has only done around 440,000 viewers.

CM Punk Makes Televised Appearance Sunday Night

0

CM Punk was in the limelight of sorts Sunday evening as he appeared on AMC’s Talking Dead program. The show serves as a post-show for AMC’s record breaking Walking Dead series.

This was Punk’s third appearance on the show, with his most recent being shortly after his exit from WWE. He’s admittedly a huge fan of The Walking Dead and the accompanying comic books. Punk also recently gained employment from comic book company Marvel as a writer.

In addition to his comic related work for Marvel and AMC, he’s covered recent comic con events Nerdist, which is run by Talking Dead host Chris Hardwick.

Punk was joined on the program by Yvette Nicole Brown and Tyler James Williams. Punk appeared on the program under his ring name as opposed to his real name, which he went by during his first appearance on the program. There was no mention of his WWE career on the broadcast.

The WWE Raw Report 11/17/14 – The “Go-Home” Show To Survivor Series

0

WWE Raw 11/17/14 from the Berglund Center Coliseum in Roanoke, Virginia

– This week’s Raw kicks off with a video from last week’s episode, featuring the heel turn, and face turn, of Ryback.

– The arena portion of the show kicks off with the Authority, and their Survivor Series team members (INCLUDING LUKE HARPER) making their way to the ring… HHH speaks, he reminds us of the stipulation Vince put into effect, where if the Authority loses at Series then they no longer have power. HHH mocks the fans for cheering Vince now after booing him some years back. HHH asks the fans if they want the inmates to run the asylum, guys like Cena, then references WCW having that issue and look where WCW is now… HHH says the Authority has to win.

And now raspy Steph gets on the mic. Ugh… Stephanie says she has no choice of how to handle business tonight, so they will decimate team Cena tonight on Raw… HHH says there will be a Team Cena vs. Team Authority Contract Signing to end the show, and we will see who is left to even sign for Cena’s team. Stephanie puts over Team Authority one by one, Rollins, Kane, Rusev, Henry, and Harper.

Moving on to Ryback… Steph starts to talk trash on him, when his music hits… FEED ME MORE…. Ryback stops on the stage to talk as the fans loudly chant “Feed me more”. Ryback says the Authority wants what’s best for business, Cena wants what’s best for WWE Universe, but Ryback wants what’s best for Ryback.

Stephanie knows Ryback isn’t with the Authority, so she does her best to get Ryback not to join Team Cena. Stephanie plays a video from like 18 months ago, the last time Ryback was relevant, with Cena making fun of Ryback in the ring. Stephanie asks Ryback if he will join Team Cena now.

Ryback says he only plays for Team Ryback and walks off…

HHH says that was a wise decision to stay out of the fight. Our first match starts now… It’s Luke Harper vs. Dolph Ziggler….

–Commercial Break–

We find out that during the break, HHH made this an

INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

Before the match can even begin, Mercury, Harper, and Noble all beat down Dolph, then Seth Rollins busts Ziggles with the briefcase… Ziggler finally pulls himself up by using the ropes… Ziggler demands the match start…. The bell sounds… aaannnnd…..

1. IC Champion Dolph Ziggler vs. Luke Harper.

BIG BOOT BY HARPER AT THE SOUNDS OF THE BELL!!! 1………2………..ZIGGLER KICKS OUT… BATISTA BOMB by Harper…1……2……….Dolph kicks out…. Harper misses a big boot in the corner and tumbles to the floor… And we go to commercial a minute into the match… WTF… That was some pretty crummy booking of time. Yes, I said crummy, first time for everything.

Back from break, Harper back in control, picks Ziggler up into a suplex but sits him back down and slaps the crap out of him instead… BTW, we’ve got Rollins on commentary, with Noble and Mercury standing behind him. Ziggler counters a chinlock with a jawbreaker… Harper misses a charge into the corner, and Dolph follows up with a FAMOUSER…1………..2……….Harper kicks out. Luke catches Dolph’s foot and counters with a sit out Boss Man Slam for 2… Harper charges with a clothesline from hell, but Ziggler catches him with a SUPERKICK!!!! 1……….2……….. Harper kicks out again!!!

Harper comes back for a Powerbomb, but Dolph somewhat escapes and lands on his knees. Ziggler gets up and gets splattered with a discus CLOTHESLINE from Harper… 1……..2………….3….. Luke Harper ios the new IC Champion in 9:00.

Seth Rollins with a CURB STOMP on Dolph Ziggler post match.

Where’s Cena in all of this? Not much of a Team Leader to let this happen… F CENA…

I’m good with Harper winning some gold to get his singles push going… Not particularly right at this moment, and not from Ziggler, but can’t say as though it’s a shocker. WWE loved their big’unz.

Word to Ziggler, dump Cena now… I sure hope nobody comes saving his ass later…

Oh yeah, GRUMPY CAT is here… I like to think I keep up with most things, but I have no idea what this Grump Cat thing is about… Well, I take that back… I have an IDEA of what it’s about, given that it’s common sense… I’d just never heard of it before last Monday. I’m still trying to figure out the amusement in it all…

–Commercial Break–

– IT’S A NEW DAYYYYYYYYY Promo. It’s the Kofi Kingston promo from last week.

– Backstage promo with The Miz & Damien Sandow. Sandow is trying to mimick Miz’s words, failing miserably, which makes it all the more funny. Miz pitches a movie featuring the dup. We end up seeing they are talking to Grumpy Cat, who is not amused. Sandow presents a Grump Cat stunt double. Okie dokie…

– WWE 2k15 Promo. I hear they got rid of like 100 features to accommodate “better graphics”, which apparently aren’t all that much better. Way to go?

– It’s Adam Rose, complete with Rosebuds and the Bunny. Doesn’t this Bunny learn. The Bunny just steals Adam Rose’s falling off the ropes into the Rosebuds gimmick. If you ask me, the Bunny is the heel. Rose follows doing the same. He has a match next.

–Commercial Break–

2. Adam Rose vs. Tyson Kidd (w/Natalya).

This is a rematch from last week when the Bunny cost Rose the match. I had totally forgotten, thank God for video flashbacks, or actually I could have done without it… Rose makes the Bunny stand in the corner. Tyson has complete control until Rose counters with a spinebuster. The Bunny starts hopping towards Nattie, it distracts Rose, and Tyson with a SHARPSHOOTER WIN in 2:00…

After the match, Rose swings on the Bunny, the Bunny ducks and grabs Rose in a waist lock and proceeds to HUMP Adam Rose repeatedly… PG BABY… Rose is pissed. The Bunny then hops away up the ramp, does more HUMPING gyrations, which my 6 year old imitates and my wife tells him not to… AGAIN, PG…. The Bunny hops off… I get that the comedy is the baby face in this, but seriously the Bunny is the ass.

– Bray Wyatt IS HERE!!!! And next.

–Commercial Break–

– Bray Wyatt makes his way out to the ring. Bray comes in peace, he wants to save Dean Ambrose. He says their souls are intertwined. Bray wants Dean to embrace him… Dean shows up on the Titan Tron to respond… Ambrose says he’s learned some Bray Wyatt magic of his own… For instance, this message is recorded… And Dean is in the ring!!!

The video shuts off and Ambrose attacks Wyatt… Bray gets outplayed and runs off angry… Ambrose says he doesn’t need saving, but Bray needs to save himself at Survivor Series…

This feud is falling really flat, and with two great talkers like this I don’t know what it is. The creative behind this feud is crap, so there’s that. Hopefully these guys do their talking in the ring Sunday and save this potentially top notch feud.

– We go back to earlier when Ziggler lost the WWE IC Title. We learn that Ziggler was helped out of the Arena after taking the Curb Stomp. When did this Curb Stomp become a stretcher job???

– Ryback on his way to the ring, next…

–Commercial Break–

– Larry the Cable Guy is special guest next week. Puke…

3. Ryback vs. Cesaro.

Ryback dominates, Warrior Splash gets 2… Cesaro gets a small stretch of offense, but Ryback comes back with a delayed suplex… Cesaro comes back with his own Suplex throw. Ryback comes back with a Thesz Press of all things and mauls Cesaro some more. Cesaro counters a corner mount by driving Ryback down with a walk out Powerbomb… Double stomp by Cesaro… Crowd is mostly dead… Ryback dead weights Cesaro, and Cesaro dead lifts 300 pounds into a slam… Nice. It’s back and forth and Cesaro knocks Ryback to the floor for the commercial.

Back from break, Cesaro continues control, but Ryback powers back. Cesaro fights back and lands FOUR GERMAN SUPLEXES on Ryback for 2… Match is dragging on way too long, killing the crowd… Macho Man Top rope flying elbow by Cesaro on Ryback for 2… Ryback comes back PRESS SLAM INTO A POWERSLAM FOR 2… But the crowd is fairly dead. Ryback wakes them up with the “Feed Me More” Chant and the Meathook Clothesline, but CESARO COUNTERS WITH THE EUROPEAN UPPERCUT!!!! Cesaro then throws Ryback up into the air for another EUROPEAN UPPERCUT!!!! 1…………2………….RYBACK KICKS OUT!!!

Ryback comes back with a MEATHOOK CLOTHESLINE and goes for Shellshock, but Cesaro counters out!!! Cesaro school boys Ryback! 1………..2……….Ryback kicks out!!! Cesaro goes for the Neutralizer, but Ryback counters with SHELLSHOCK!!! 1…….2………….3.

Ryback wins in 14:10…

I’m first in line for a good back and forth match involving Cesaro, and while this wasn’t bad, Ryback’s not a guy to go 15:00 with. It wasn’t a “bad” match, but when Ryback goes 15:00 against a mid-card Cesaro, it sort of hurts his character. Crowd died off immensely once this match got past the first 4 or 5 minutes, and they barely came back for the finish.

– Backstage it’s Renee Young with John Cena. Who will still be with Team Cena at the end of the night? Will Ryback join? Cena thinks not. Rusev in action next…

–Commercial Break–

– Lana talks before the next match. “Shut Up”, RUssian Rules, all that crap. She offers to show a topless photo, but it’s of Putin. Lana tells the fans in their dreams…

Rusev’s opponent is Heath Slater, who comes out to a new theme and dressed as UNCLE SAM… Heath cuts a promo on the Russians. Slater tells them their reign ends tonight… “DING DING, YOU SON OF A BITCH”…. Greatest line of the night…

4. US Champion Rusev (w/Lana) vs. Heath Slater.

Rusev lands his jumping kick to the face of Slater straight away. Accolade and it’s over in 30 seconds.

– Miz and Sandow are still talking to Grump Cat for more “comedy”. Erick Rowan steps into the camera, removes his sheep mask, and says he wants the cat… Rowan then takes the stuffed cat instead…

– Big Show in action next.

–Commercial Break–

– After Show’s entrance, Stephanie McMahon comes to the ring. Where’s Grump Cat now? Stephanie brings up Big Show’s WCW debut as “Andre’s Son”. She says Show is always in other people’s shadow. He needs to stop listening to the fans, and join the Authority. To demonstrate how the Authority will honor Show if he leaves Team Cena, they will induct him into the 2015 WWE Hall of Fame… LOL…

Show actually has to think about it, and eventually declines Steph’s offer… Sheamus comes out to interrupt next. Sheamus is also remaining on Team Cena, or so he says. Stephanie says there’s an issue with Sheamus’ passport, he’s not an American citizen. Steph then says there may be an issue with his visa come Survivor Series and maybe Sheamus will be deported….

Steph announces that Show and Sheamus will now face each other, and the winner will get a WWE title shot… Gee, I wonder if this is going to end with both guys getting attacked…

5. Big Show vs. Sheamus.

Dead crowd… Nobody has interest in this match, including me. Both guys struggle for position, they start getting frustrated with each other and get a little more physical. They take the fight outside, Show tosses Sheamus over the barricade as we go to commercial.

Back from break, Show goes for the chokeslam, Sheamus counters with 10 beats of the forearm in the ring and a kneedrop gets 2. Show fights back, elbowdrop for 2. Crowd is DDDDEEEEAAAAADDDD. You can hear individual fans yelling because the other 10,000 are dead. This is crap booking. Show locks in that seated Scorpion Leg Lock, but Sheamus gets the ropes. Back and forth from here, Show lands a big boot, Sheamus goes up but Show catches him and drives him down. Sheamus comes back and hits WHITE NOISE on Show!!! 1…2…No! Show with a CHOKESLAM on Sheamus!!! 1………2……NO!!!!! Show goes for the Vader Bomb, but Sheamus climbs under him and takes him backwards in an Ocean Cyclone Suplex!!! Both men are down!!!

AND HERE COMES THE SCREW JOB…. RUSEV AND HENRY HEAD TO THE RING!!!!

They attack both men for a no contest in just about 11:00….

Rusev with the jumping kick to Sheamus knocking him to the floor. Big Show is taken out, and Rusev applies the Accolade!!! Mark Henry with the WORLD’S STRONGEST SLAM THROUGH THE ANNOUNCE TABLE on Sheamus… The announcers play up Big Show bwing unconscious as if he’s dead….

WHERE THE F IS CENA????? Seriously? What kind of crap garbage is this? Piss poor booking to have your super hero sitting in the back allowing this crap to happen. I don’t know why anyone would want to team with Super Cena after seeing this. I hope everyone face and heel beat him down.

–Commercial Break–

– Survivor Series Kickoff Show… “The New & Improved” Fandango will be in action… Bad News Barrett is back with some bad news… And Paul Heyman is on the Kickoff Panel…

– Brie Bella on her way to the ring DRESSED as AJ, skipping like AJ, and to AJ’s music… Clearly Nikki set this up. Nikki Bella is out next. Brie is Nikki’s assistant for another 8 days, and I’m still not sure what the point of this was.

We’re told the following match is an “Exhibition Match”. The Real AJ Lee skips her way out next to watch the match…

6. Nikki Bella vs. Brie Bella.

AJ on commentary. Nikki just beats the crap out of Brie while she taunts AJ from in the ring. Brie isn’t supposed to fight back, but lands an elbow. Nikki gets mad, slaps her around, goes for the Rack Attack, but AJ climbs onto the apron… AJ distracts Nikki, and Brie rolls Nikki up for the win in 2:00….

After the match, Nikki attacks Brie, but AJ nails a SHINING WIZARD on Nikki. Brie starts to celebrate with YES! chants, but AJ lays her out as well with a DDT…

– A new picture of Team Cena vs. Team Authority is shown… Cena is now standing alone, with his entire team removed from the image.

–Commercial Break–

– NEW DAYYY Promo with Big E… Preaching away. A new day is coming y’all…

– John Cena drops by Ryback in the locker room. Cena says the WWE needs him. Ryback says he doesn’t need Cena, and he doesn’t like the comments Cena made about him. Cena points out what the Authority could end up doing to Ryback if they remain in power. Ryback gets it, but he still wants no part of Cena… John tries to guilt Ryback into joining, pointing out he wants to be fed more, but he doesn’t want to eat at the “grownup table”. Cena says Ryback isn’t stupid, he’s selfish. Cena tells Ryback to do something BOLD, and take on the Authority. Cena walks off with Ryback pondering…

– Usos make their way out for an 8-man tag…

–Commercial Break–

– Dean Ambrose Survival Kit on Smackdown… That sounds like a promising segment… Love the comedy involved in a Ambrose vs. Wyatt angle… Garbage Dump Creative.

7. The Usos & Los Matadores vs. Stardust, Goldust, The Miz & Damien Sandow.

These 4 teams will meet in a Fatal 4 Way for the Tag Titles at Survivor Series. Sandow with yet more hilarious hijinks mocking the Miz as Miz takes bumps. Miz teases tagging Sandow, crowd pops, so Miz tags Goldust. Booo. “We Want Mizdow” chants. It’s been all Matadores for the faces up until this point. More hilarious spots from Sandow, Miz takes a double hiptoss so Sandow runs in and does a somersault bump for no reason. LOL. Matadores five out onto the Dust Brothers. Torito hits a top rope dive out onto Miz on the floor, and Sandow takes a phantom bump as well. Easy night for the Usos so far, and it’s commercial time.

Back from break, Stardust is beating down a Matador. Crowd continues to beg for Mizdow. I don’t think the Usos have even been tagged in yet. The heels continue with the heat but won’t tag in Sandow, which pisses the fans off. The crowd turns on the match and continues to chant for Sandow. The heels continue to tease tagging Sandow but don’t… Poor Sandow… FINALLY SANDOW TAGS IN… Crowd pops. Sandow IMMEDIATELY tags out to Miz… LMAO… Crowd Heat. Miz tries for a Figure Four but gets kicked out of the ring. Stardust takes over, but gets flapjacked, and we get a hot tag to an USO….

Jimmy Uso dives out onto Sandow, Jey Uso in the ring nails Stardust with a Samoan Drop and the butt bam in the corner. Goldust in but eats a Back Stabber by a Matador. Everyone trades moves, Jey Uso accidentally superkicks a Matador, and Stardust hits his Downward Spiral like finisher for the win in 11:30.

Crowd doesn’t make a noise, and neither does Grumpy Cat…

– Up next, it’s Team Cena vs. Team Authority contract signing… Who will be on Team Cena??? We’re reminded Ziggler was helped out of the building from a Curb Stomp, we learn Show passed out from the attack early from Rusev, and Sheamus DEFINITELY won’t be on Team Cena. LOL, way to write off Sheamus, not that I’m complaining fella… Just odd they make it CLEAR Sheamus won’t be out here, but didn’t say that for the other two. Apparently Sheamus was taken to the hospital…. Well then where was Ziggler taken when he was helped out? So yeah, Sheamus is OUT for sure… That’s a plus anyway…

–Commercial Break–

– The Authority is out first for the contract signing… We’ve got HHH, Stephanie, Rollins, Kane, Harper, Rusev, Mark Henry, Mercury, Noble, Lana. HHH says the fans THINK they love WWE, but every fiber of who he is, is the WWE. He breathes WWE, and he can’t lose. Stephanie reassures they won’t lose. HHH agrees. HHH says this is the last chance for Team Cena to back out… HHH says if they don’t back out, they will wish they had at Survivor Series. Stephanie introduces “What’s Left” of Team Cena…

Out comes John Cena… Alone??? Cena teases backing down, but heads to the ring… HHH mocks Cena saying he “Can’t See” the rest of Cena’s team. John sounds confident he will win. Stephanie asks what army Cena has with him. Steph says there’s only one choice here, nobody is going to join Cena. John disagrees…

Cena says they put people to sleep. Cena starts asking fans if they will be his partner at Survivor Series. Cena says the fans have passion, Steph’s team are suck ups and sell outs…

Cena starts to announce the order he will eliminate Team Authority at the Series. Sexual Chocolate reference thrown in. Stephanie finally slaps Cena. Cena tosses the table aside and calls out the entire Authority.

DOLPH ZIGGLER’S MUSIC HITS…. Ziggler is back!!!!

BIG SHOW IS NEXT… It’s the Big Bad Show back…

HHH counts 5 on his side, 3 on the other…

ERICK ROWAN HAS JOINED TEAM CENA…. LUKE HARPER IS SHOCKED… AS AM I…. Was expecting Ryback and Randy Orton. Rowan is an odd ass choice.

“Feed Me More” Chants. Stephanie tells them they have one last chance to reconsider…

CESARO JOINS TEAM CENA… And now the crowd is even more confused….

Cesaro laughs it off and backs into Team Authority… Cesaro comes out just to screw with Cena… LOL

AND NOW RYBACK IS OUT!!!!!!!! Ryback joins team Cena and we’ve got a wild brawl in the ring…

Everyone spills outside… Cena and Rollins go at it inside… Cena goes for an AA, but HHH breaks it up. HHH goes after Cena, but Ryback comes in. Ryback and HHH have a long stare down… Cena hooks HHH for an AA through a table!!!!

Team Cena celebrates as the announcers hard sell the fate of the WWE at Survivor Series… End show.

I flipped it over to the Network for the Macho Man special, but we get some Raw post show first. Mercury & Noble help HHH to the back, Stephanie is pissed. The announcers put over Macho Man as an intro to the Randy Savage documentary.

Spike TV Doesn’t Want TNA, What Station Is TNA Heading To?

0

Bleacher Report MMA lead writer Jeremy Botter spoke with Spike TV officials at last night’s Bellator 131 event, who confirmed that the network is no longer interested in carrying Impact Wrestling. Botter wrote:

“I’ve gotten this question, so I’ll answer it: No, Spike will not be in the TNA Wrestling business any longer.”

“Lashley says he hopes TNA can work things out with Spike. That ship has sailed, though.”

Dave Meltzer, who has been stating for months that Spike TV was not interested in renewing with TNA, reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that officials at Destination America believe that a deal with TNA was completed. As noted earlier, Destination is a channel in the Discovery Network that is available in 52% of the country. Meltzer noted that the number is actually high, because it counts all of the subscribers for a service like DirecTV, even though it is only available on the higher tier packages. The highest rated show in the history of Destination America has only done around 440,000 viewers.

Meltzer also added that with the new deal, ROH is almost definitely likely to have more weekly viewers on Sinclair than TNA on Destination America.

Augusto Montana vs. Chris Heatherly
Round 1: This is happening. These two are on a UFC pay-per-view right now. Heatherly throws a wild overhand right that was only used to set up a nice takedown, which he gets. Heatherly tries to work past Montano’s guard, and makes it past shortly but both get back to their feet. Montana pushes Heatherly into the cage and controls him while landing knees. Out of nowhere Montana slips around Heatherly’s back and hits some sick knees and punches, but gets too wild and Heatherly recovers. The two have a nice exchange on the feet but Heatherly inexplicably pulls guard and almost gets choked. Back up on the feet, Montana goes right back to the cage and connects with huge knees to Heatherly. 13 knees in all beore Mario Yamasaki finally calls for the bell.

Lamas hits a huge jab that drops Bermudez, and locks on a guillotine for the victory!!!
