Will Kevin Nash Still Be Appearing On WWE RAW Next Month?

0

As noted earlier, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Shawn Michaels and Hulk Hogan were scheduled for the RAW Royal Rumble go-home show on January 19, 2015 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.

WWE announced this week that they suspended Nash’s legends contract until Nash’s domestic dispute with his son “is resolved.” Despite the suspension, Nash still appears on WWE’s event page for the show, as well as on the official American Airlines Center website.

A WWE official confirmed to me this morning that despite Nash still appearing on advertising for the event, he has been pulled and will not be appearing on the show.

After a stop and start pro wrestling career, it seems as if Ryback’s WWE run is back on track. However, it was almost over before it even started.
In 2006, Ryback, then known as Ryan Reeves was released from the company. He’s gained entry to the WWE after competing on the fourth season of Tough Enough alongside the likes of Miz, Daniel Puder, and others. Ryback talked about this release on the Talk Is Jericho podcast.

“I got released from OVW and was ashamed to go back home to Vegas. Nobody saw it coming, but at that point in my life, I saw it coming,” he said. “I was in a very negative mindset. I came up through Deep South under Bill DeMott, who was very hard on me. He was great to me outside of it. He pushed me and I am who I am because of how he trained me. At the time I couldn’t take that reinforcement. I carried that over with me to OVW and I got released.”

Ryback said he did nothing but train and drink alcohol for a year and fell into a depression because of being released.

“Luke Gallows came into Smoky Bones (where Ryback worked) and left me a 30 dollar tip,” Ryback said. Gallows told Ryback that he shouldn’t be in that situation and told him to purchase a book called “The Secret.” Ryback said that the book changed his life and career.

Shortly after, Ryback joined OVW and with the aid of Danny Davis developed his Terminator-esque character. Eventually Ryback was re-signed by WWE after making the significant changes.

– A wrestling fan noted that security was checking the front and back of signs at tonight’s WWE live event in Chicago for any CM Punk related material. A security lady at the event confirmed that they were specifically asked to check for CM Punk signs.

– NXT Champion Sami Zayn defeated former NXT Champion Adrian Neville at tonight’s WWE live event in Madison Square Garden. The match was said to have been great.

Dean Ambrose Talks Nixed Angle With Mick Foley, What Triple H Thought Of It, Why It Was Dropped

Dean Ambrose’s career has exploded over the past two years since joining the WWE’s main roster. In addition to headlining and main eventing numerous WWE pay-per-views, he’ll also be starring in an upcoming film. This success could have happened sooner, if not for a major nixed angle.

In 2012, Ambrose and WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley had a series of interactions that looked to lead into a feud between the two. At the time, Ambrose was in WWE’s developmental territory. Ambrose talked about the angle on Talk is Jericho earlier this month.

“It was going to be a real thing. That was the start of it. It was my idea, something that I pitched. I’m of the generation who watched Mick Foley fall off stuff, and on the indies people are falling off ladders and getting hurt,” Ambrose said. “I did a lot of hardcore stuff before I got here [the WWE].”

Ambrose said the basis of the angle would be that Mick Foley influenced an entire generation of young wrestlers to hurt themselves in order to get cheers.

“I was going to make him pay for it. Hunter bit on it. It was almost too real,” Ambrose said.

Ambrose said that the company wanted the feud to start on Twitter, but he didn’t have one. The WWE set up accounts for all of the FCW talent in order to veil the fact that he was having an account created and starting the angle.

“The dirt sheets starting biting on it,” Ambrose said. “I went up to him while he was signing autographs, people were filming on their phones and had no idea who I was,” said Ambrose of their infamous WrestleMania 2012 confrontation. Ambrose also said that even Mark Henry fell for it after hearing a second hand account of the ordeal, even offering to Mick Foley to beat up his harasser.

Unfortunately for all involved, Foley couldn’t get cleared to compete and the angle was nixed.

“I was pretty bummed, I thought that was the one perfect moment. But it gave me buzz and got more eyes on me. There was a positive in it,” Ambrose said.

Backstage Heat On AJ Lee For Her Slammy Speech And Taking Time For UFC, Another Incident?

Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

We noted before that AJ Lee is currently out of action for a few more weeks with an injury.

There has been a lot of negative talk about AJ within WWE lately. Her Slammy Awards acceptance speech, which wasn’t scripted the way she delivered it, was seen as a big shot at every Diva on the roster except Paige. There was also some negative talk on her for taking time off to be with CM Punk in Las Vegas for UFC 181.

It appears there was another incident with AJ also. She was removed from the WWE Main Event intro a month ago and that reportedly coincided with something that happened backstage, described as a “hiccup” with her. This happened before anyone in the company knew about Punk signing with UFC.

The Mirror has an interview with TNA President Dixie Carter, who was discussing TNA’s debut on Destination America. Here are a few highlights:
Changes to Impact Wrestling:

“Our first show, which is live, will be similar to what we’ve done in the past. There’ll be a few new bells and whistles but it’ll be similar because there’s only so much you can do live because you don’t have the post-production time to dive into unique, different production aspects.

“But if you give us a few weeks, I think everyone will start to see a transition of very new and very exciting ways to watch Impact. I don’t want to say too much, I’d rather it just unveil itself. I’m definitely excited about some of the changes coming up.”

If she saw Sting’s WWE debut at the Survivor Series:

“I did not see it.”

Vince McMahon’s “lack of ambition” comment and if she feels the same way about the TNA locker room:

“I can’t even comprehend that statement. It doesn’t sit with our group. My own roster’s completely different than that. I don’t have a complaint about anybody on my roster. The young guys are just as hungry … the young guys from 10 years ago are now the Bobby Roodes, Samoa Joes, James Storms. Visit Wrestling Inc. My main eventers, who were brand new young talent from 10 to 12 years ago, I’m proud of how far they’ve come.

“This young group of talent we have right now, they’re the hardest working, most positive team players around.”
