– Jon Jones took a bit of a swipe at former PRIDE FC champion Dan Henderson in the above clip. When speaking about challenger Daniel Cormier’s last opponent, Jones said he fought a “50 year old” (Henderson). He said that next week Cormier will be facing a 227 pound, 27 year old that is healthy, instead of an old man.
– In addition to the original class-action lawsuit against the UFC, two more class-action suits have been filed against the UFC.
One features Dennis Hallman and Javier Vasquez. Hallman was released from the company after failing to make weight twice in a row. Despite this, the UFC sympathized with his position and paid him for his cancelled fight. The company also provided him an undisclosed sum to aid in a custody battle he was going through.
The other suit is being filed by Brandon Vera and Pablo Garza. Vera was cut from the UFC this summer after winning only one of his last six fights, spanning over five years. He has since signed with ONE FC.
All three lawsuits are similar in nature, with the exception of minor wording.
– While Bellator MMA admitted to reaching out to Brock Lesnar, it appears the UFC hasn’t done the same. MMA Junkie’s John Morgan revealed a text from UFC President Dana White, who denied any contact with the WWE World Heavyweight Champion Lesnar.
Quick text from @danawhite regarding latest “Brock to @ufc” reports: “I haven’t talked to Brock.”
