NFL’s Rob Gronkowski Comments On Working In WWE With NXT’s Mojo Rawley

0

FOX Sports recently spoke with NFL star Rob Gronkowski of The New England Patriots and brought up the teaser he posted this week with good friend Mojo Rawley of WWE NXT. Gronk was asked if he would ever do anything with WWE. He replied:

“My boy Mojo Rawley is in the WWE’s NXT and he just got back from an injury, so he’s about to start amping it up again and he’s doing a great job. He’s my boy and he’s killing it. I love watching him. We were just chilling and we cut a promo together and we had a blast. I can definitely see something in the future. Hopefully Mojo Rawley starts wrestling a lot and starts doing what he has to do and makes it to “Monday Night Raw”, if my boy is there, I’m there for an appearance.”

Gronk said he would be open to managing, wrestling or “all of it” when it comes to what WWE has to offer.

Original Plans For John Cena On Last Monday’s WWE RAW, More On Daniel Bryan Injury Concern

0

Regarding Daniel Bryan being sent home from the current WWE tour of Europe due to being banged up, the original plan for last Monday’s RAW in London was to do Bryan vs. WWE United States Champion John Cena but Bad News Barrett got the shot against Cena instead.

Bryan has worked very little on the current tour and even when he teamed with Cena at the SmackDown tapings for the main event he didn’t work much.

There’s been concern over how Bryan has been wrestling the same style he was before the near career-ending neck injury. There’s been a feeling for a while that given the seriousness of his injuries, Bryan’s body was not going to be able to hold up for a long period of time without adjusting his ring style.

Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

– In an update from earlier, the surgery that WWE Hall of Famer Bobby “The Brain” Heenan had this week had to do with new equipment that he needed in his jaw. Heenan was said to be doing well after surgery.

– TNA talents have been told that they are now free to work anywhere except on TV, meaning they are able to work on iPPV events for other promotions. TNA talents can’t work for Ring of Honor because the two companies are rivals but many are looking to get dates with Pro Wrestling Guerrilla or EVOLVE.

– As noted, Tamina Snuka was booked to work the first part of WWE’s current European tour and ended up not going but is on the second part of the tour that’s going on right now. She just returned to the ring at this evening’s WWE live event in Poland, teaming with Layla and Cameron to face Natalya, Emma and Rosa Mendes.

– We noted before that WWE officials were talking about making changes to the 2016 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony so the event doesn’t run over 4 hours like it did this year. The feeling within WWE is that they will cut down on the number of inductees next year.

How Rock Helped Make Ronda Rousey’s WrestleMania Appearance Happen, More On Rousey

0

Source: PWInsider Elite

WWE officials reportedly feel like UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey is “part of the family now” after her appearance at WrestleMania 31. They fully expect her back to do business at some point and may end up promoting some of her non-UFC projects such as acting.

On a related note, The Rock reportedly played a big part in quelling the fears of UFC President Dana White when it came to signing off on Rousey doing the angle with Rock, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon at WrestleMania 31.

Many feel that White will not let Rousey actually wrestle a match at WrestleMania 32 so it will be interesting to see if The Rock is able to help there also. Others still believe Rousey will likely make an appearance the next time WWE has a TV event at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, which would be the Hell In a Cell pay-per-view on October 25th.
