Wrestling legend Billy Robinson has reportedly died at the age of 74.

Robinson’s death was reported by the co-author of his autobiography, Jake Shannon, according to a report by Slam Wrestling.

Shannon wrote on Facebook: “I hadn’t heard from him in days so I contacted his apartment complex to check in on him. When I called back for a progress report the apartment manager put the police on the phone, it seems he passed peacefully in his sleep.”

Robinson made his name in his home country of England before coming to the U.S. and Canada in the 1970s.

Robinson wrestled for the AWA in the U.S., which led to him starring in the 1974 wrestling movie, “The Wrestler,” along with Verne Gagne.

“Saddened to hear of the passing of U.K.’s legendary Billy Robinson,” said Jim Ross on Twitter. “Met him w/ Danny Hodge. Billy’s hotel room skirmish w/ Jack Brisco classic.”

Robinson’s story was published in the 2012 book, “Physical Chess: My Life in Catch-As-Catch-Can Wrestling.”
