If you ignore his AWA heyday, today (January 23rd) marks the 30th Anniversary of “Hulkamania”, as Hulk Hogan burst back onto the scene in the WWF as a baby face and defeated the Iron Sheik in Madison Square Garden to become the WWF World Heavyweight Champion for the first of five times. Both men comment on their legacy, now 30 years later.
Hulk Hogan tweeted “30 years ago a dream came true,I became WWE Champion and HULKAMANIA has been runnin wild ever since,30 years ,seems like yesterday brother HH”
The Iron Sheik commented “30 year ago today me and the @HulkHogan sold out the most famous arena in the world to make Hulkamania. Now I am the legend & he the legend”
