Introduction:
Hello everyone and welcome back to the Event Center. Last time you saw us we were going through hell when we review WCW New Blood Rising. Well this time we are going to be doing something a little bit better I think. According to most this is one of the worst Wrestlemania’s of all time and it was rated the worst major wrestling even fo 1989 by Meltzer. However, I have always enjoyed this show and there is a lot on this show that is entertaining and enjoyable. Therefore, I can’t wait to get this thing going so let’s do it to it. We are going back to where the Mega Powers Exploded at Wrestlemania V.

Show Opening:

The show opens up with some ominous music and the storm clouds rolling in as Vince McMahon narrates “The Mega Powers……EXPLODE! HERE AT WRESTLEMANIA 5!” Lightning then strikes and pyro goes off as the Wrestlemania 5 logo rolls in. This is one of my favorite openings for a show. It was short and sweet and got the job done and Vince’s voice was perfect. Really sweet opening here. They then show the fans in the crowd as Gorilla says all of the questions will be answered here today. Fink then gets on the mic and introduces Rockin’ Robin as the person who is going to be singing America the Beautiful.

Robin gives it her best shot but she completely butchered the hell out of this song. She was horrible and couldn’t carry a tone. I have no idea who’s idea this was but they dropped the ball tremendously. After it’s over Jesse shits all over on commentary. Jesse says “let me tell you something Gorilla, she better stick to her day time job. She better stick to wrestling.” Gorilla gets pissed and sends it up to the Fink so we can get the first match underway at Wrestlemania 5.

Match 1: Hercules vs. Haku

Haku is getting carried out down the stairs on a float type deal. Amazing they made these jobbers carry a 300 pounder down stairs. That could have ended up pretty bad if one of them tripped and whatnot. All is well though because the King makes it to the ring safe and sound. Bobby gets in the ring and says everybody needs to bow to the king….King Haku! Hercules gets in the ring and cleans house by swinging his big ass chain. That could have ended bad as well if he ended up smoking somebody with that while he is spinning it around. If it ended up breaking it was going to fly in the crowd and do some damage. They are lucky that never happened.

Hercules starts laying in the clothesline until Haku gets on his feet and gets hit with a power slam off the ropes. Hercules gets a 2 count. Hercules ends up going to the top rope and ends up getting nailed with a crescent kick off the top rope. Haku goes to the middle rope and goes for a big splash but Hercules gets out of the way. Haku swings wild and Hercules ends up hitting Haku with a belly to back suplex with a bridge. Both shoulders are down but Hercules rolls the shoulder at the last second and gets the 1-2-3. Your winner by way of pinfall…..Hercules!

Recap:
This match isn’t that bad if you are watching the Coliseum Video version of this show but since it was the full match it really weighs the match down. The part that was cut out in the CHV version didn’t really add anything to the match and it made the match appear better than it was. However, the full match with the rest hold bear hug and the Haku offense just wasn’t that good and it makes this match pretty trash if you ask me. They should have cut maybe 2 minutes off this match and it could have been a pretty good opener. But they didn’t so we got a mediocre match at best to start the show.

Backstage Interview: The Rockers

Gene says we are moments away from the match between the Twin Towers and the Rockers. Shawn says this is the moment of truth for the Rockers. Shawn says everybody is talking about how the Twin Towers can’t be beat. Shawn says that the Rockers are going to show them something today at Wrestlemania 5 that they’ve never seen before. Marty says coming out in one piece will be a victory in itself but they wanna do a lot more than that and thats coming out victorious. Marty says they are going to have to rock and roll and strut and stroll in order to come out the victors. Marty says they are ready and they are coming.

Match 2: The Twin Towers vs. The Rockers

The match starts with the Rockers running after the Towers and getting them to chase them around the ring. This is genius because it wears out the big guys early on. The match officially starts with Shawn and the Boss Man. Boss Man quickly picks up Shawn and puts him on the top rope. Boss Man slaps him in the face and then Marty distracts Boss Man and Shawn nails him in the back with a drop kick. Shawn leap frogs over Boss Man and he ends up nailing Akeem and Boss Man with some right hands. Boss Man tags in Akeem and he comes in and gets his groove on. Shawn responds with a moon walk of his own. Shawn ends up getting an arm ringer and tag into Marty.

They quickly exchange tags with the arm wringer as both guys go off the middle rope. They hit Akeem with a double chop then they go over and hit Boss Man on the apron. Shawn continues to work the arm until Akeem drives him into the corner. Akeem goes for a splash in another corner but Shawn moves out of the way and he goes right back to the arm. Nothing but arm wringers so far. Akeem gets the tag to the Boss Man as Marty hits him with a leap frog but he jumps right into the arms of Boss Man and then Akeem crashes into the back of Marty as they pancake him. Boss Man tags in Akeem and he hits a big splash on Marty while he is trapped on the ropes.

Like Jesse said “They can run but they can’t hide forever.” It was only a matter of time before the Rockers got caught. Boss Man ends up hitting a splash on Marty in the corner as Akeem follows him in and he hits the splash as well on the back of Boss Man. The Towers work Marty over in the corner and get frequent tags. Akeem goes for a splash on Marty while the Boss Man holds him but Marty gets out of the way and Akeem goes crashing into the Boss Man. Marty quickly makes the tag to Shawn and he comes in with a sling shot drop kick on Akeem.

Shawn is a house of fire as he climbs to the middle rope and lays in the right hands. Marty comes in and helps out with the irish whip. They just throw him back and forth between the corners 2-3 times. They then hit Akeem with a double shoulder block off the middle rope. Shawn dunks a clothesline and when he turns around Akeem just floors him with a brutal ass clothesline. It looked stiff as hell and it looked like it completely knocked Shawn out. The commentary was perfect for the move as well. Jesse gives out a loud oh as Gorilla says “wow what a shot”. It came across as if they were just saying damn he got jacked up. The line from Jesse of “he must have irritated Akeem” was perfect.

Akeem tags in the Boss Man and he goes off the top with a splash but Shawn gets out of the way. Shawn goes for the cover but Boss Man forcibly kicks out. Shawn runs off the ropes and gets in a position on the shoulders of Boss Man and Marty comes in and he trips up the Boss Man. Shawn and Marty knock Akeem off the apron as they climb up to the top rope and go for a double drop kick on the Big Boss Man. Marty nails Boss Man but Shawn totally misses and ends up landing on Boss Man’s chest. That could have ended up terrible but it looks like everyone came out unscathed.

Shawn goes for the cover but Akeem breaks it up. Akeem throws Marty out of the ring as Shawn goes up to the top rope and goes for something but Boss Man ends up catching him and drops him with an awesome looking power bomb. Boss Man tags in Akeem and he comes in and hits the big splash for the pin and the 1-2-3. Your winners by pinfall…..The Twin Towers!

Recap:
This is a really good match from start to finish. The Rockers ran them ragged and really got some pretty good offense in. The best part about this match is the fact that the Towers allowed themselves to look beatable throughout the match. This really enhanced the match because they did it in a way that looked like the Rockers were going to win this things. A really good match here that is definitely worth checking out.

Backstage Interview: Ted DiBiase & Virgil

DiBiase says he has been waiting for this show for a long time because there are going to be people that are members of his club the highly elite. He’s talking about people like Donald Trump and Henry Kravitz. People with clout and people with money that are going to be in attendance to see him destroy Beefcake. DiBiase says he spends thousands of dollars to be the finely groomed individual that he is and if Beefcake thinks he is going to put his grubby paws on his head then he has another thing coming. DiBiase says Beefcake is going to meet his destiny and that is being defeated by the greatest athlete in the WWF the Million Dollar Man and it’s evident by the million dollars of diamonds and gold around his waste. DiBiase says it shines like he does, brighter than any star in the WWF.

Match 3: Ted DiBiase vs. Brutus Beefcake

DiBiase comes down to the ring and goes right over to Donald Trump and shows him the Million Dollar title. Trump stands up and gives DiBiase a hand shake. Jesse says that the Million Dollar Belt really opened up Donald’s eyes there. Before the match starts DiBiase gets in the face of Beefcake with the Million Dollar belt and is poking him in the chest. Beefcake gets tired of it and nails him with a right hand then a back drop and a hip toss. Beefcake ends up hitting DiBiase with another back body drop as DiBiase rolls to the outside to catch a breather.

We get back in the ring and they get in a tie up as DiBiase hits a knee to the stomach then some right hands. Beefcake reverses an irish whip and ends up hitting DiBiase with 3 straight body slams. Beefcake then hits the clothesline and sends DiBiase up and over to the outside. Jesse says that he has never seen DiBiase start off this slow before. Gorilla uses this dead time to talk about how Jesse likes to hang out with the rich people so Jesse tells us he was on a plane with Farrah Fawcett and she couldn’t keep her hands off him and he had to get a stewardess to help.

DiBiase gets back in the ring and they trade rights and lefts in the middle of the ring. They get up to the rope and Virgil ends up grabbing the leg of Beefcake and DiBiase drops him with a right hand. DiBiase then lays in a choke hold to Brutus as he is laid out on the mat. DiBiase continues to work over Beefcake in the corner before he whips him into the ropes and hits him with a nice back elbow. DiBiase does his patented fist drop and gets a 2 count out of it. DiBiase then drops Beefcake with a clothesline. DiBiase then climbs up to the middle rope and waits for Beefcake to get up and he ends up nailing him with a double ax handle.

DiBiase puts the head down early and Beefcake gets a small package for a 2 count. DiBiase quickly gets up and lays in the boots to Beefcake. DiBiase goes for a suplex but Beefcake reverses it and hits a suplex of his own. Beefcake and DiBiase hit each other with a double clothesline as both guys are laid out on the mat. DiBiase gets up first and he hits Beefcake with the suplex. DiBiase gets Beefcake in the Million Dollar Dream right in the middle of the ring. Beefcake walks around and he ends up in the ropes. DiBiase goes to ram Beefcake into the turnbuckle as Beefcake reverses it and rams DiBiase’s head into the turnbuckle. This happens two times and then they go for some right hands but Beefcake blocks them and he lays in 5-6 right hands. Beefcake ends up slamming DiBiase into the turnbuckle 10 times.

Beefcake calls for the sleeper hold and he ends up getting it on DiBiase in the center of the ring. Virgil quickly gets on the apron and distracts Beefcake as DiBiase nails him from behind. Virgil starts laying in some clubs to the back to Beefcake and he rams him head first into the apron. Beefcake gets pissed and starts to chase Virgil around the ring before DiBiase drops him with an ax handle off the apron. Both guys brawl on the outside as we get a double count out. This match is a draw due to a double count out.

After the match they continue to brawl until Beefcake ends up pushing DiBiase into the steel post. Beefcake chases Virgil around the ring and then they end up the ring as Beefcake hits him with an atomic drop and then a clothesline on Virgil. Beefcake then puts the sleeper hold on Virgil and puts him to sleep. DiBiase gets back in the ring and ends up getting hit with a right hand and a body slam for his troubles. Beefcake heads to the outside and gets his scissors as DiBiase and Virgil roll out of the ring to safety as this one is over.

Recap:
There wasn’t anything special with this one but it wasn’t bad either. DiBiase controlled the match for the most part and thats a good thing. He’s head and shoulders better than Brutus so letting him dominate was a good idea. The finish was weak but expected when you have two guys you are trying to keep strong so the double count-out finish makes sense because of that. This isn’t the worst match on the card but it’s nothing special either.

Interview at Wrestlemania 5 Brunch: The Bushwhackers

The slobs known as the Bushwhackers are chowing down on endless food at the brunch from the morning. They say they are ready for their match against the Rougeau Brothers. Hayes asks them questions but their mouths are full and you can’t understand a damn word they are saying. This is a complete waste of time.

Match 4: The Bushwhackers vs. Fabulous Rougeau Brothers

Before the match really gets going the Bushwhackers chase Jimmy around the ring and eventually steal his jacket. They are about to tear it in half when the Rougeau’s come in and attack both guys from behind. Each guys get a corner and the Bushwhackers end up whipping the Rougeau’s into Jimmy Hart, who was trying to retrieve his jacket. Jesse is wondering why everyone likes to beat up on Jimmy Hart. We start off with Raymond and Luke in the ring. Raymond hits Luke with a boot then some right hands. Raymond drops down then goes up and over and then falls down for a monkey flip as Luke drops down for a fist but Raymond moves out of the way.

Butch comes in and hits Luke with the battery ram early on. The Rougeau’s regroup on the outside as the Bushwhackers stomping around the ring. Jacques is in the ring as the ref checks his boot because the laces are out and Raymond comes in and drops Luke from behind. Jacques tags in Raymond and he ends up whipping Luke into the corner viciously. Luke nails the buckle and falls down. Raymond picks up Luke and ends up hitting him with a body slam and for some odd reason Luke decides its a good time to rub the nuts of Raymond. I have no idea what the reason was for it but it looks questionable at best.

Raymond heads to the middle rope and ends up hitting Luke with an ax handle to the back. Jacques comes in and lays in the boots and then hits Luke with a back elbow. Jacques has Luke in an abominable stretch when he tags in Raymond. Raymond does a front flip into the ring then a stupid strut and then a kick to the gut. The Rougeau’s are celebrating and all of a sudden the Bushwhackers nail Raymond with the battery ram and then a double gut buster for the 1-2-3. Your winners by pinfall….The Bushwhackers!

After the match they head to Sean Mooney down on the entrance way by the fans. The Bushwhackers end up coming over to him and start licking the shit out of his face. Mooney looks disgusted and then he says “mere words can not explain what it is like to get licked by a Bushwhacker. Gorilla do you know what its like to have a dog that really likes you?” Awesome line and interaction there between Mooney and the Bushwhackers.

Recap:
This match was the shits as well. Nothing really going on and it just dragged through the 5-6 minutes of time that they had. The Rougeau’s could have been really damn good but the majority of their matches on PPV were against the Bushwhackers and thats a shame. I would have loved to see them feud against a team like the Hart’s because I feel like they could have done some great work. Also, what the hell was up with the crotch rub there on the body slam? Anyways, nothing really worth checking out here so you can skip this one unless you are a fan of either team.

Match 5: Mr. Perfect vs. Blue Blazer

Jesse says he got a chance to see Mr. Perfect’s father Larry the Ax Hennig and Jesse says he still has a 24 inch neck. Perfect ends up starting the match with a head lock and he ends up reversing a hip toss and hitting the Blazer with his own hip toss. Perfect pushes him into the corner and then slaps him across the face. Perfect tries it again but this time Blazer slaps Perfect in the face in return and then hits him with a leg take down and then he slaps Perfect in the face again.

The Blazer whips Perfect into the corner and ends up hitting him with a belly to belly suplex. The Blazer hits a crucifix pin on Perfect and ends up getting a 2 2/3 count. Perfect gets up pissed and nails the Blazer with his big forearm, the Ax, and then follows that up with the Perfect Plex for the 1-2-3. Your winner by way of pinfall……Mr. Perfect!

Recap:
This was a pretty awesome match here. It was slow at some parts but nothing that makes it not worth checking out. The Blue Blazer/Owen Hart’s offense on this card was so much different than what anyone else was doing outside of the Rockers. The standing drop kicks, the flips, the high risk moves, just everything he was doing was awesome and it really makes this match stand out. Perfect sold the story pretty damn well were he basically took the Blazer for granted and nearly lost because of it. Just a really good match all around here and one worth checking out.

Jesse Ventura Poses for the Crowd

Jesse stands up on the balcony by the announce table and poses for the crowd. The crowd is going nuts for Jesse as Gorilla tells him to be careful, we don’t need him falling over the railing. This was just filler and a waste of time. What the hell is the point of this? I guess they needed some time so they can get the ring set up for what is about to happen next.

They show Mr. Fuji joining the runners for the Wrestlemania 5k run.

Run DMC joins us in the ring to provide the Wrestlemania Rap. The audio on this performance was shit because you couldn’t hear anything they were saying except the word Wrestlemania. More time wasted here if you ask me.

They show a highlight video on the feud between Demolition and the Powers of Pain.

Backstage Interview: Demolition

Okerlund says we are moments away from their title defense. Smash calls him Fuj the stooge. Smash says they are in their war gear and they are ready for action. Smash says there is only one thing to do when they get in the ring and thats to knock their stinking teeth in. Ax says they are going to make history here today when they get in the ring with the 3 stooges. Ax says he hopes they are ready because Fuj the Stooge you can’t hide forever and we are going to take care of business. Ax says they are going to do what they do best and thats demolishing people. Ax says they are the champions and are on top of the mountain and their is nothing anyone can do. Ax says they are going to grab Fuji by the throat and squeeze his eye balls out and then throw him out of Trump Plaza. This promo was all over the place but it was freakin awesome.

Match 6: WWF Tag Team Title Match: Demolition (c) vs. Powers of Pain/Mr. Fuji

Fuji gets us started with the ceremonial salt shit in the corner. I wonder if that stuff ever landed on a fan or got in a fans eye? If so I’d be pissed off if that was me. This one starts off with Ax and the Warlord. Warlord gets the upper hand early on until Ax goes low and then starts pummeling the back of the Warlord. Smash gets the tag in and both he and Ax start pounding the back of the Warlord. Smash then gets the Warlord in a neck hold until he gets back on his feet and he tags in Ax. Ax comes in and snaps Warlord over and starts to work over the neck himself. Ax says he is going to break it (referring to Warlords neck). Love it when audio gets picked up in ring. Ax and Smash pound the back of Warlord some more.

All four guys are in the ring going at it when the ref gets distracted by Smash and the Barbarian fighting on the outside. Meanwhile, in the ring Fuji gets some salt and tries to hit Smash with it but he dunks out of the way and the Warlord gets nailed with the salt in the eye. Smash then drops Fuji with a clothesline as he tags in Ax. Ax then climbs to the middle rope and he nails Fuji with the elbow drop while Smash held him on his knee. They go for the pin and get the 1-2-3. Your winners and still WWF Tag Team champions……Demolition!

Recap:
This match was decent but nothing special. The Powers of Pain were pretty rough and boring and this feud seemed to have dragged on way to long. I never understood why Mr. Fuji would leave a pair of tag team champions to join a team that couldn’t beat them without him let alone with him. The booking was poor and the reason they chose just didn’t make sense. Anyways, the finish was good because the fans got what they wanted and that was Demolition getting their hands on Mr. Fuji. All in all nothing terrible here but nothing good either.

Backstage Interview: Macho Man Randy Savage

Tony says they have been trying to get an interview with the WWF Champion all day but to no avail. Tony says we are going to try one more time. He opens up the door and Savage is pacing around the room like a mad man. Savage sees the camera and he pushes it down and says he told them no interviews. Savage then says that he is going to knock him out and that Hulk Hogan he is ready as he storms out of the room.

Match 7: Dino Bravo vs. Ronnie Garvin

Before this match even starts Howard Finkel announces the return of Super Fly Jimmy Snuka. He walks all the way down that long ass entrance just to get in the ring and pose and then he leaves. Again what the hell is the point of this? Also, why the hell do you get these two guys in the ring ready to go and then stop them with this Jimmy Snuka shit? Makes no sense but whatever.

Ronnie doesn’t know where he wants to throw his towel so Bravo ends up nailing him from behind. Bravo picks up Garvin and drops him with a body slam and then hits him with a big ass elbow. Bravo then hits a forearm to the lower back two times. He’s working over that back to get him ready for his shitty back breaker finish. Bravo then hits a chop and then a punch that drops Garvin again. Bravo then whips Garvin into the ropes and gets him in a big time bear hug until he throws him in the corner back first.

Bravo picks up Garvin and throws him into the ropes again and this time he drops him with a shoulder block. Bravo again drops Garvin with a shoulder as well. Bravo goes for a 1 boot pin for a 1 count. Bravo whips Garvin into the ropes again and this time Garvin gets up on the shoulders of Bravo and he ends up dropping him with 5-6 right hands. Garvin then bounces off the ropes and nails Bravo with a big time right hand for a 2 count.

Garvin starts laying in those vicious chops until he starts ramming the head of Bravo into the top turnbuckle 5-6 times. Garvin goes with the rolling cradle for a 2 count. Garvin then gets Bravo in a sleeper hold in the middle of the ring but Bravo quickly gets to the ropes to break the hold. Garvin is going for a piledriver but Bravo ends up blocking it into a back body drop. However, Garvin holds on for the sunset flip and gets a 2 count. Garvin gets up to his feet and starts laying in the chops. Man his chops are brutal. They sound like bombs going off and that shit had to hurt. Garvin goes up top for some right hands when Bravo drops him with the atomic drop and this his side suplex for the 1-2-3. Your winner by pinfall…..Dino Bravo!

After the match Ronnie Garvin attacks Bravo from behind and sends him flying to the outside. He then drops Frenchie with a huge right hand that drops Martin. Garvin then does the Garvin Stomp all the way around the body of Frenchie Martin.


Recap:
This match wasn’t that bad at all. It was short enough that it never had time to go south quickly. Bravo worked fast early and then Garvin took over and worked at a pretty fast pace as well. The ending was a little abrupt but it worked. I also like the after the match stuff that helped Garvin going forward. I always did like his Garvin stomp and the shot to the face on Frenchie Martin is one of the more cooler shots that you can see. All things considered, this was a decent little match that is surprisingly better than you might think.

Match 8: The Brain Busters vs. Strike Force

The match starts out with Martel and Tully Blanchard. Arn quickly hits Martel with a knee to the back so the Busters can get control of the match early. Martel is trapped in the Busters corner and he just goes nuts with some lefts and rights until he breaks free. Tito gets in the ring and they end up hitting double drop kicks on both members of the Brain Busters. Pretty fast start here and pretty good offense. These two teams can definitely go.

Arn gets back in the ring and he ends up hitting Martel in the gut and then he whips him into the ropes but he dunks early so Martel throws Arn face first into the mat. We get a little test of strength with Arn laying on the mat and Martel on top as they are locked together by the hands. Martel, for some reason, kicks up and Arn catches him with his legs around the waste as he lays in the pressure to the back of Martel. Martel breaks free from the hold and ends up getting Arn in the Boston Crab but Tully reaches in and thumbs Martel right in the eye. Arn tags in Tully and he comes in and gets Martel in a head lock. Martel ends up tagging in Tito and Tully has no idea he did until Tito gets in the ring and drops Tully with a bulldog out of the head lock. That was a pretty sweet spot there.

Tito comes in and he gets Tully in the figure four right in the middle of the ring. Arn comes in and so does Martel and he quickly gets Arn in a figure four as well. Another awesome looking spot here. These two teams really are going at it and you can tell they wanted to make an impression on this card and it’s working. Arn and Tully go for a double back drop but Tito kicks Arn and gets Tully in a small package. Tully picks up Tito for an atomic drop type move but Tito ends up making the tag. Tito then hits the ropes and goes for his flying forearm but Tully moves out of the way and he ends up dropping Rick Martel with the forearm. Martel rolls to the outside knocked out. If Tito made the tag to Martel and he is on outside “knocked out” shouldn’t the ref be counting the ten? Mistakes were made.

Tully ends up nailing Tito with a drop kick as he goes over and tags in Arn. Arn whips Tito into the ropes and Arn drops him with a shoulder to the gut. Tully gets tagged back in and he tries to throw Tito into the knee of Arn but Tito reverses it and Tully goes crashing into the knee of Arn. Arn gets back in anyways as Tito does a sunset flip and gets a 2 before Tully comes in and breaks up the pin. Martel is finally back on the apron as Tito hits a flying cross body on Tully from the middle rope. Tito slipped a little bit so he didn’t get all of it but he still got a 2 count.

Arn comes in and he works over the neck area of Tito. Arn ends up hitting Tito with a knee when he comes charging in at him in the corner. Arn goes up to the top rope but Tito gets up and slams him off the top rope. Arn goes over and gets the tag to Tully while Tito is crawling over to the corner and to Martel. Tito sticks his hand out but Martel just walks down the apron and then he drops down and just leaves Tito all by himself. Tully picks up Tito and clotheslines him on the top rope. Arn comes in and he starts working over the back of Tito. Arn then whips Tito into the ropes and hits him with the best spine buster in the history of the wrestling business. Not necessarily this specific spine buster but Arn Anderson has the best spine buster ever.

Tully gets the tag in as he prances around the ring until he picks up Tito and throws him back into the corner. Tito nails Tully with a right hand and then he hits Arn with one on the apron. Tito ends up going for a monkey flip but Arn holds on to the trunks of Tully and Tito just falls back first on the mat. Arn then picks up Tito and Tully comes off the middle rope as they nail him with a spike pile driver for the 1-2-3. Your winners by pinfall…..The Brain Busters!

Backstage Interview: Rick Martel

Gene wants to know what kind of explanation he has for leaving his partner high and dry out there. Martel says as far as he is concerned he got what he deserved. Martel says he is sick and tired of carrying him around. Martel says he was doing great as a singles competitor but no Tito wanted to ride his coat tails once again. Martel says he is sick and tired of it because he has been carrying him for to long already. Gene says that Martel is out of line and that Strike Force was supposed to be a team. Martel says he doesn’t want to be associated with that guy because he is a loser. Martel said that Tito’s timing was way off and that he is lucky that he is the gentleman that he is that he just walked off because it could have been a lot worse for Tito Santana.

Recap:
This was a pretty damn good match and angle here. The Brain Busters were awesome and are arguably one of the greatest tag teams of all time. The story with Tito and Martel coming to a head and Martel just leaving his partner out there on his own was pretty damn awesome as well. Tito was always a great worker and could sell a beat down better than anyone and this show is no different. Martel turning heel was pretty good and the interview he cut after the match was pretty good as well. All in all this was a great 10-12 minute segment that is worth checking out.

They head to Gorilla and Jesse at the announce table where they are talking about what just happened.

Piper’s Pit with Roddy Piper: Brother Love and Morten Downey Jr. are Guests

Not going to go into to much detail here with this segment. It went way to long and was a complete waste of time. I guess it was a half way decent way for Piper to come back but it was pretty damn boring and got hold rather quickly.

Brother Love starts off this segment imitating Piper as if he is not going to show up. He rambles on and on in fast speaking fashion and doesn’t really sound to much like Piper at all. Brother Loves says that Piper love his show and that he wouldn’t know what to do if it wasn’t on TV and whatnot. After about 2-3 minutes of this Morten Downey Jr comes out and he gives it to Brother Love here.

Brother Love tells Downey that he loves him but that doesn’t mean he likes him. Downey says that any guy thats wearing a skirt he doesn’t want him to love him. Love asks what is it like being on the Brother Love show and that he is running things around here. Downey says he isn’t running anything around here fat boy. He says he ain’t running anything with a gut like that.

Piper finally shows up and puts an end to all this madness. He goes on and on about Brother Love and makes fun of his legs and weight and what not. Piper gives Brother Love a taste of his own medicine by asking a question and then letting him answer only to pull the microphone away. While Piper is talking to Brother Love, Downey is throwing cigarettes at both of them. Brother Love says that Piper can’t scare him so Piper does a scream and Love goes scrambling back to the corner “scared.” Piper says he watched Love one time but he had absolutely nothing to do. Piper asks Love if he ever fought anyone and Love says he is a lover not a fighter.

Piper then asks him about his jewelry and Love says that they are gifts from the Million Dollar Man. Piper asks Love if Million Dollar Man’s waist is green like Love’s fingers. Piper then asks Love about the wardrobe and his kilt. Eventually Piper grabs on to the kilt of Brother Love and Brother Love starts begging for mercy until Piper rips off the kilt of Brother Love exposing his bright red underwear. Brother Love high tails it out of there and he heads out and falls running up the entrance ramp.

Piper now turns his attention to Morten Downey Jr. They go back and forth and eventually Piper gets very annoyed with Downey smoking and blowing the smoke in Piper’s face. Piper warns him multiple times not to blow smoke in his face. However, Downey does it one time to many so Piper asks Downey for a smoke for himself. While Downey goes for the cigarette, Piper lifts up the stool and grabs the fire extinguisher and when Downey turns around Piper nails him with the fire extinguisher right in the face. He then takes the hose and sprays Downey right in this crotch area as Downey is “swimming” on the mat. A classic ending to a long and boring segment.

Ringside Interview: Donald Trump

Sean Mooney is nervous as hell as he tries to get an interview with Donald Trump. You can clearly tell he was nervous at the start of this interview. Mooney tells Trump this is the second Mania he has hosted in a row. Mooney wants to know what an event of this magnitude means to the area and to the Trump organization. Trump tells us people have shown up from thousands of miles away. Trump says they are honored to be hosting and they are extremely happy with the turn out and the amount of traffic they have gotten. Mooney then stumbles over his words some more and asks Trump how hot the casinos have been. Trump says they are packed and the whole town is packed. Trump says everyone is happy and excited for the event. Mooney says that he will be leaving a few dollars here in Atlantic City and Trump says thats a good thing. Mooney then stumbles over Trumps name and he looks around the area looking for something else to say but stumbles over his words some more. Somebody save this dude and go to something else.

They go back to the announce table and Jesse Ventura is heated that Hulk Hogan is stepping into Hollywood. Jesse says that Hollywood is his domain but he is doing it because he is going to lose to Savage tonight. Jesse says Hollywood isn’t big enough for the both of them but he will give Hogan a job in Hollywood driving his limo. Jesse then storms off camera pissed off. Jesse comes back calmed down and he tells Gorilla not to give him a hard time going forward.

They then show a highlight video of the feud between Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage.

Backstage Interview: Hulk Hogan

Gene says what a difference a year makes. Gene tells us that Hogan was there a year ago by Savage’s side when he won the title. Hogan says Gene was right and that a year ago they were the best of friends and they would do anything to win together. Hogan says if you would have told him a year ago that they would be locking horns for the WWF title he would have called them a liar. Hogan says he should have seen this thing coming man because as the Mega Powers team was formed and the Summerslam’s and the Survivor Series the Mega Powers were growing together but the Mania was a little bit ahead of the Madness.

Hogan tells Trump not worry about his Hulkamaniac’s because they are survivors and they will be fine. However, Hogan doesn’t care about where Savage stands or what he believes in. Hogan says he wants Savage at his best. Hogan wants him to be ready and he wants Macho Madness to be at its peak. Hogan says because when Hulkamania rules and Hulkamania runs forever and when he has Savage down on his knees he wants the whole world to realize that Hogan beat him at his best. Hogan says at the end of Wrestlemania 5 he will be the WWF Champion. Hogan wants to know what Savage is going to do when the whole world of Hulkamaniacs destroys him.

Match 9: Jake Roberts vs. Andre the Giant (Big John Studd Guest Referee)

Before Jake heads out Studd and Andre getting into a pissing match in the middle of the ring. These two legit didn’t like each other so I can only imagine how this conversation went. Jake finally heads to the ring and puts Damien in the corner. He gets into the ring only to be attacked by Andre as soon as he steps in. Andre takes Jake and rams him into an exposed turnbuckle. Andre already cheating and we are 5 seconds into the match. Andre lays in some chops as Jake falls to the mat.

Meanwhile, on the outside of the ring DiBiase and Virgil come out of no where and attack Jake and steal his snake. We get an awesome split screen here where Jake is attacking DiBiase and getting his snake back while Andre is choking out John Studd with his singlet strap. Jake comes back with Damien and he throws him in the ring as Andre high tails it out of there. Studd calls for the bell and we get a disqualification. Your winner by disqualification….Jake the Snake Roberts!

Recap:
It’s really hard to say this match is terrible because Andre could do nothing by this point. The fact he did as much as he did in the match was pretty amazing if you ask me. I mean he damn near fell on his ass just lifting up his leg to kick Jake. Jake did his best and sold like a million bucks for Andre. Also, with the real life animosity between Studd and Andre it made for a pretty good dynamic. This match was heavily edited on the coliseum video version as well and for good reason. With the whole match in tact it went a good 2-3 minutes to long. The edited version makes it watchable but this just seemed to drag and its really not the fault of either guy to be honest.

Sean Mooney interviews some fan up in the bleeders who is already drunk and all he can say is “Jake is the best, Jake’s the best.”

Backstage Interview: Sensational Sherri

I’m not sure what the deal was with this random ass interview for someone who was doing absolutely nothing at the time. I wonder if this could lead somewhere? Hmmm. Sherri says she is sensational unlike some other woman we heard singing America the Beautiful. Sherri says she can’t sing any better than she can wrestle. Sherri says whenever she is ready she will take the title back from Rockin’ Robin. Sherri says she wants to talk about Elizabeth as well. Sherri says that they say Elizabeth is beautiful and Sherri says take a look at this and she calls herself hot and vicious. Sherri then says isn’t it unfortunate that Elizabeth’s Mega Powers are going to explode right in front of her tonight.

Match 10: The Hart Foundation vs. Honky Tonk Man/Greg Valentine

This one starts off with Bret and Honky Tonk in the ring. Honky starts off with a knee to the midsection but Bret quickly puts a stop to that with some right hands. Bret then goes up and over for a roll up on Honky for a 2 count. Bret then hits Honky with two straight atomic drops before Honky quickly tags in Valentine. Bret then picks him up and drops him with an inverted atomic drop and then a drop kick.

Honky goes for a fist drop but Neidhart moves and he quickly nails Honky and brings him over to the corner where Bret is waiting with the tag. Bret nails Honky with a body slam and then an elbow off the middle rope. Bret then hits Honky with a snap suplex for a 2 count before Valentine breaks up the pin. Valentine knocks Neidhart off the apron and he ends up going after Jimmy Hart. Honky goes for the mega phone but Neidhart grabs it and throws it to Bret and he ends up nailing Honky Tonk Man with. Bret goes for the cover and they get the 1-2-3. Your winners by pinfall….The Hart Foundation!

Recap:
This was a pretty good match here. The Harts worked at a really good pace and they were just an awesome tag team. One of the greatest tag teams of all time. Honky and Valentine came to work as well and they put on a pretty solid match in the short time they were going. Some of the stuff Neidhart could do in the ring was just crazy and he is totally under appreciated. All in all this is one of the better matches on this card and definitely worth checking out at least once.

They show a highlight video on the feud between Ultimate Warrior and Rick Rude.

Match 11: WWF Intercontinental Title Match: Ultimate Warrior (c) vs. Rick Rude

Before the match starts Rick Rude did his typical promo before taking off his robe. He says for the high rolling Atlantic City sweat hogs, they need to keep the noise down while he takes off his robe and gives the ladies a good look at the sexiest man alive. Meanwhile, the Warrior comes charging down and gets in the ring and goes after Rude without even taking the title off his waist. Warrior goes for a clothesline but Rude dunks and Rude ends up hitting Warrior with a knee right in the title so it hurt the knee instead of Warrior. A Pretty awesome and creative spot there. Warrior then picks up Rude and just launches him into the corner 2-3 times. The springs in Rude’s feet there were just awesome.

Warrior then whips Rude into the corner and it really does some damage to the lower back of Rick Rude. Warrior then whips Rude into the other corner and again does some damage to the lower back of Rude. He whips him a third time doing more damage to the back. The game plan early is work the lower back. Warrior picks up Rude and gets him in a bear hug and he is positioned right on the lower back of Rude. Rude breaks free with a poke to the eye. Classic heel move there. Rude then goes off the top rope with a big time missile drop kick. That was out of no where and I totally forgot about that spot. That was pretty damn awesome.

Rude goes for the cover and gets a 1 count before Warrior kicks out with authority. Warrior gets back up and hits Rude with two straight body slams. Warrior then picks up Rude and goes right back to the bear hug again. Rude breaks free but the Warrior grabs Rude and ends up biting him in the face. Warrior then follows that up with a big time back drop. Warrior then gets confused as to where he wants to run and ends up going for a splash but Rude gets the knees up to block the splash. Rude then grabs Warrior and drops him with a jumping pile driver. That looked rough there. Rude goes for the cover and gets a 2 count.

Rude then drops Warrior with a jaw breaker and he goes to swivel the hips but he couldn’t do it because the pain in his back. Awesome spot there. Rude then hits Warrior with a clothesline that sounded stiff as hell. Rude then drops Warrior with a neck breaker for another 2 count. Rude gets some weird ass submission hold on Warrior. He is just stretching the arms of Warrior while applying pressure to the back. Nothing real special here. Anyways, Warrior crawls to the ropes and he starts shaking them as he gets to his feet. Warrior then shakes Rude off of him and he hits the ropes and drops Rude with a flying shoulder block. Warrior then grabs Rude and drops him face first to the mat twice.

Warrior then picks up Rude and hits him with a back breaker and he tries to get up and hit him with another one but he stumbles and damn near goes falling out of the ring. Warrior then nails Rude with a vicious clothesline that again looked stiff as hell. Warrior then throws Rude face first into the turnbuckle and then he whips him into the corner and then runs into him and it sends him flying into the buckle again. Warrior whips Rude into the other corner and he goes in for a splash but Rude gets out of the way.

Rude goes for the Rude Awakening but Warrior powers out of it and he ends up dropping Rude with a clothesline. Rude rolls to the outside and the Warrior goes out after him. Warrior quickly throws him back into the ring as he starts shaking the ropes. He winds up for a clothesline and ends up sending Rude up and over to the apron. Warrior then grabs Rude and goes to suplex him from the outside but Heenan ends up grabbing the leg of the Warrior as Rude lands on top of Warrior and he gets the 1-2-3. Your winner and new WWF Intercontinental Champion….Ravishing Rick Rude!

After the match the Warrior chases Bobby around the ring. Warrior then picks up Heenan and gets him in the gorilla press and and he drops him like a bag of luggage. That didn’t look good at all. According to Heenan he really hurt his ribs with that spot and it damn near stopped him from doing his match later on.

Recap:
This was a pretty entertaining match here as well. Rude was selling like 10 million dollars here for Warrior. He was flying all over the ring for Warrior and selling his back “injury” throughout the entire match. Just a really awesome job by Rude here. Warrior did his part but it was a lot of the same stuff that you are accustomed to with a Warrior match. A lot of people find their SummerSlam 89 match better, and rightfully so, but this one is pretty damn good as well. Good stuff from both guys here.

Match 12: Bad News Brown vs. Jim Duggan

Theres really only one way this match is going to end and it’s not good for anyone that has to watch this shit that is about to go down. Duggan gets in the ring and Bad News immediately starts going in with some right hands. Bad News is just dropping him with big time right hands until he whips him into the corner and he misses a shoulder block. Now Duggan is laying in the rights and lefts to Bad News and he ends up dropping Bad News with a clothesline. Bad News heads to the outside to get a little bit of a rest before he gets back in the ring.

Bad News is just standing on the apron so Duggan takes it upon himself and sling shots him in. Duggan whips Bad News into the ropes and Duggan dunks down early so Bad News nails him with a right hand. Duggan gets rammed into the turnbuckle and then a head butt to Duggan but he doesn’t go down. Bad News continues to ram Duggan into the turnbuckle but Duggan no sells it. They then hit each other with a right hand at the same but Bad News gets the upper hand after he pokes Duggan in the eye.

Duggan turns the table on Bad News and lays in the shoulder blocks in the corner until Duggan stops and turns to the ref and says “get off my ass.” Bad News ends up hitting Duggan with a head butt and he goes to the outside. Bad News then throws Duggan into the post and then back into the ring. Bad News goes for the Ghetto Blaster but Duggan drops down and Bad News misses. Duggan hits Bad News with the flying clothesline that sends Bad News to the outside. Bad News grabs a steel chair ringside so Duggan ends up grabbing his 2×4 and they try to hit each other with their weapons. The ref calls for the bell and this thing is over with a double disqualification. This match is a draw.

After the match Duggan hits Bad News with an atomic drop and he follows that up with a shot with the 2×4 that sends Bad News out of the ring and out of dodge. Duggan then sits down on the chair as he has snot stuck in his beard. A pretty disgusting sight if you ask me.

Recap:
This match was shit from the start to the finish. It was nothing but a brawl and you knew neither guy was going to do the job on a show like this. The finish was good because both guys didn’t lose anything by the outcome. The more I watch Duggan in the WWF the more I really can’t stand the guy. Based off his Mid-South stuff it just looks like he got to the WWF and mailed it in immediately. This was pretty bad and a waste of time.

Backstage Interview: Red Rooster

Rooster comes in making his cock-a-doodle doo noises like a jackass. Gene says it is the classic case of student vs. teacher. Rooster says thats right it is student vs. teacher and tonight he is going to teach the teacher something he never taught him and thats how to lose. Rooster says that Heenan called him limited but he is going to show him how good he is. Rooster says he can’t wait to get his rooster claws into the weasel hide. Rooster says he wants to take out of all of his frustrations and he is going to take care of business. Rooster says when he is done it will be a great day in the barn yard as he does his stupid chant again.

Match 13: Red Rooster vs. Bobby Heenan

Heenan comes down to the ring holding his ribs and he is bringing the Brooklyn Brawler out with him. The fact he is holding his ribs is not a work and is a legit injury from the Warrior just dumping him 2 matches prior to this one. The bell rings as Heenan circles and then hides in the corner. Rooster comes over and rams him head first into the turnbuckle two times. Rooster then whips Heenan into the corner and lays in a couple of right hands. Rooster then whips Heenan into the corner again but he moves out of the way and Heenan goes crashing into the turnbuckle. Rooster then covers Heenan and he gets the 1-2-3. Your winner by pinfall…..The Red Rooster!

After the match the Brawler attacks the Red Rooster and he drops him with a clothesline and he follows that up with a body slam before he lays in the boots to the Rooster until he rolls to the outside. Rooster gets back to his feet and he gets in the ring as the Brawler and Heenan get out of doge.

Recap:
Well there isn’t much to this match but kudos to Bobby Heenan for actually going out there and putting on the match when he had the opportunity to give the match to the Brawler. There is nothing to this match but it served a purpose and it allowed the crowd to drop down a little bit before the main event that is coming up. All in all it did it’s job and thats really all you can ask for.

Backstage Interview: Miss Elizabeth

Gene says this has to be the most difficult time of Elizabeth’s life. Liz says this is definitely the most difficult time and that she will be in a neutral corner and will still support both men. Elizabeth says that it is unfortunate that these two men have to resolve their differences this way. Elizabeth says she can only hope and pray for one thing and thats that neither men are seriously injured.

They go to Tony Schiavone in the back where he talks about the match coming up. Tony says that the wrestlers are vacating the locker room and are heading to the arena to watch the Mega Powers explode.

They then head to Sean Mooney ringside where he asks the fans who they think are going to win. Mooney says its a split crowd as he sends us back to Jesse and Gorilla.

Match 14: WWF Heavyweight Title Match: Randy Savage (c) vs. Hulk Hogan

Savage comes out first, which was pretty rare for the WWF at this time. I like that they sold as the champions prerogative instead of just ignoring it. Both guys are circling as Jesse is defending Savage while Gorilla is starting shit with him. Hogan goes after Savage but he quickly jumps out of the ring and gets in the face of the fans. They tie up and Hogan forcibly throws Savage down and into the corner. Savage steps out on the apron to slow down the momentum.

We tie up again as Savage gets a head lock on Hogan. Hogan gets out of it and ends up dropping Savage with a big time shoulder block. Savage goes outside again to slow down the momentum of Hogan. Savage gets back in and he gets a head lock on Hogan and he nails him with a right hand to the face a few times. Hogan pushes Savage off and he is about to floor him with a right hand but Savage holds on to the rope and ends up going outside again. Hogan then chases Savage around the ring and then Savage grabs Elizabeth and puts them between each other so he won’t nail Savage.

Savage gets on the apron and offers to let Hogan in. Such a heel move and it was awesome. Hogan gets an arm bar then a drop toe hold followed by a head lock. Hogan trying to wrestle didn’t really work here but still pretty impressive to see a guy that size do a move like that. Savage gets out of the head lock by dropping Hogan with a belly to back suplex. Savage misses an elbow as Hogan gets up and drops Savage with 4-5 right hands. Hogan gets an arm wringer on Savage but Savage ends up raking the eyes of Hogan.

Savage goes up top and nails Hogan with a double ax handle for a 2 count early on. Savage starts working the arm and when Hogan gets to his feet, Savage pulls him down by his hair. He does this 2-3 times and on the third try Hogan holds on to the rope so Savage can’t pull him down. Hogan then grabs Savage by the trunks and throws him to the outside. Hogan then rams Savage head first into the turnbuckles and then whips him in the ropes and nails him with a big time clothesline. Hogan then hits his repeated elbows twice and then he rakes Savage’s eyes with his boot.

Hogan goes for a back drop but Savage kicks him in the head and then drops him with the lay down clothesline that Savage is known for. Savage gets Hogan in a head lock and they get an up close shot to show a cut above the eye of Hogan. Savage holds on to the head lock for a few minutes here. Hogan gets up and hits a few elbows to the mid-section and then a shoulder block off the rope. Savage goes for a kick but Hogan catches him and drops him with an atomic drop. Hogan goes for an elbow and misses.

Hogan gets up to his feet and Savage ends up driving a knee to the back of Hogan and drives him head first into the corner. Savage goes for a cover and gets a 2 count. Savage whips Hogan into the corner and he falls down and holds on to the leg of Macho Man here. Savage lays in a right hand to the cut eye of Hogan. Savage then throws Hogan into the corner again as Hogan lays on the mat. Savage steps on the hand of Hogan and then slaps him in the face. Hogan gets up pissed off and he grabs Savage and rams him head first into the corner. Hogan lays in some rights and then throws Savage into the corner and he follows him in and nails him with a clothesline.

Hogan picks up Savage and body slams him over the top rope. Elizabeth comes over and checks on Savage while Hogan is getting admonished by the ref. Savage realizes Elizabeth is helping him and he points at her and basically says I don’t need your help. Savage then pulls Hogan outside and he rakes the eye of Hogan. Savage tries to ram him into the guard rail but Hogan blocks it. Savage rakes the eyes again and this time he tries to slam him face first into the mat but Hogan blocks it again and rams Savage into the apron. Hogan picks up Savage and is about to ram him head first into the post but Elizabeth stands in front of the post to prevent it. Savage drops down and ends up pushing Hogan chest first into the corner.

Savage then goes back outside and grabs Elizabeth and tells her to keep her nose out of the business. Savage is walking Elizabeth up the entrance way. The ref finally has enough as he goes out and tells Macho to get back in the ring and then he tells Elizabeth to get the hell out of here. Savage ends up going to the top rope and he drops an ax handle on Hogan on the outside. Hogan goes throat first into the guard rail. Savage throws Hogan back into the ring and he hits him with the sling shot clothesline. Savage nails Hogan with a butt splash to the back of Hogan while he was draped over the ropes. Savage then drops an elbow to the throat of Hogan while it was draped over the apron.

Savage picks up Hogan with a body slam and then he drops a knee on Hogan’s throat. Savage takes the tape off his wrist and wraps it around the throat of Hogan and chokes him out with it. Savage then lays in a choke hold to Hogan as he is talking shit to Hogan and it is great. Savage chokes Hogan out to the mat. Savage then goes up top and nails his flying elbow on Hogan. Savage goes for the cover and gets a 2 count. Hogan pops up and starts to Hulk up.

Savage is laying in the right hands but Hogan is no selling it like he does. He is going insane and then starts the finger point of doom to Savage. Hogan blocks a punch and he lays in 3 punches of his own followed by the big boot. Hogan then drops the leg drop for the 1-2-3. Your winner and NEW WWF Champion……HULK HOGAN!

After the match Hogan poses in the ring as Savage cusses out the ref as if he can’t believe it. Hogan does his poses and sends the crowd home happy as they start filing out of the building.

Recap:
First things first, props to Macho Man for going out there and putting on one hell of a show with a pretty serious staph infection in his arm. He had the option to not do the match but he said no way in hell to that because it was the culmination of a huge storyline and he couldn’t do that to Hogan or the fans. Pretty awesome of him there. Now to the match, this was the culmination of my favorite storyline of all time. It was done so perfect from beginning to end and to see this match finish it off pretty much is just awesome. Savage worked his ass off and Hogan even did some things he never really did.

The fact that Hogan got busted open and brought in some color to the match was a pleasant surprise as well. The big elbow at the end of this match is one of the best elbows that Savage ever did. It was perfect from all aspects and the fact he used his bad arm to deliver the move was just icing on the cake to be honest. The ending was expected but it doesn’t take away from how good this match was a psychology standpoint and just in ring work. All in all this is an A finish to a C show. Good stuff from both guys

Bonus Footage: Sensational Sherri joins Macho Madness

They thought we was done didn’t they? Not so fast my friends. There is a segment that happened after this show went off the air. They ended up airing the segment on Prime Time wrestling 2 weeks after Wrestlemania (the show after Mania was just selling Coliseum Videos). This footage is something that was never really brought up outside of this one showing and it never really gets talked about that much these days either when it comes to Savage’s heel turn. They filmed an interview after Mania where Savage and Sherri basically get together and this is that segment.

Savage then slaps himself in the face and says he is going to do that right now. Savage is winding up and about to nail Elizabeth before Hogan comes out of no where and nails Savage with the belt and pushes him away. Hogan checks on Elizabeth when Sherri comes out of no where and grabs Hogan by the hair and holds him up for Savage. Savage then comes out of no where and nails Hogan with a chair right to the chest. Hogan does a perfect back bump as Savage picks up the title and slams it down on the ground and then throws it at the feet of Hogan. Hogan gets up and grabs the title and tells Savage that he better run. Hogan goes back over to check on Elizabeth as he yells at the camera and says “Macho Man I am going to get you!!!!”

Where to start with this one. If you read a lot of stuff online a lot of people shit on this show as if it is horrible. I mean some matches are bad, some matches are good, and a couple are pretty damn good if you ask me. The bad is pretty bad but there are a lot of guys on this card out there busting their ass instead of just mailing it in like a lot of times back then. The Brain Busters vs. Strike Force match was pretty damn good at the start and its kind of a shame they did the angle with Tito and Martel because I would have enjoyed 5-6 more minutes of that match. The Hart’s busted their ass to put on a good entertaining match and even Valentine showed up for that one. The Blue Blazer vs. Mr. Perfect could have been a tad better but the stuff the Blazer was doing at the time was awesome and a joy to watch.

Hercules and Haku was pretty bad but they gave them too much time. Rude/Warrior was entertaining because of how much Rude was selling for Warrior throughout the whole match. Plus, that drop kick off the top rope was pretty damn awesome. The main event delivered and the story they told throughout the match was great and was a nice ending to a very good and arguably one of the best storylines of all time.

I’m not saying every match on this card is worth checking out, because they definitely aren’t. However, to lump this whole show up as terrible is a disservice to the show. I’m sure you can find 4-5 matches out of the 14 on the card that will entertain you. Some other ones may entertain you that might surprise you, such as Bravo/Garvin. It went 3-4 minutes so it never had a chance to stink the joint up and it actually wasn’t all that bad. I would recommend giving this show a chance and not just go based off all the other reviews out there.

Well that about wraps it up for Wrestlemania 5. It was the culmination of the Mega Powers storyline and it definitely delivered on that front. That is the only reason I did this show and I was glad that I did. Coming up next is a few more Television Rewinds followed by a couple more Event Centers. Introduction:
Well I hope you have enjoyed the last few Television Rewinds, but today we are back in the Event Center. We are going back to everybody’s favorite year to trash WCW. Thats right we are going back to the year 2000 again and this time we are heading north of the border in Canada. We are going back to New Blood Rising. I have seen this show a few times but I don’t remember much about it other than the Judy Bagwell on a pole match. The card doesn’t look horrible so I am looking forward to seeing how this one turns out. Last time we went down this path it ended up being a pretty good show so I am hoping for at least more of the same this time around. Therefore, lets get to it!

Show Opening:

Show opens up with a highlight video featuring the feud between Booker T and Jeff Jarrett. It’s pretty awesome looking and it shows Jarrett destroying people with guitars. They then transition to the match between Goldberg, Scott Steiner, and Kevin Nash. They then show some fans outside the building waiting to get in. This guy at the end sounds like a little bitch who hasn’t hit puberty and he is going nuts over Scott Steiner. We get the pyro and the welcome from Tony Schiavone. Tony talks about the location and people traveling to see the show as we quickly head up the entrance ramp and our first competitors coming for the ladder match.

Match 1: Ladder Match: 3 Count vs. Jung Dragons

When 3 Count gets into the ring, Tank gets on the mic and cuts a promo. Tank asks the fans if they want the best. It’s also amazing he cut out the nipples of his shirt. We get the 3 count dancing and Tank singing this shitty terrible 3 Count song. Thank God the Jung Dragons music hits and we end this shit known as the boy band song. We get the 6 man ladder match to start this one off. Can’t wait to see some of these spots. We got the gold record and the recording contract hanging high above.

The match starts with Shane and Jamie Son. They get some mat wrestling going where they switch with leg holds and head locks on the mat then back to the feet. Shane and Shannon quickly run out to gather the ladders. And now the brawl is on. Yang gets a ladder set up in the middle of the ring when Shannon stops him from being able to climb the ladder. Shannon sets up a ladder in the corner and he goes to whip Yang into the the ladder but Yang blocks it and damn near power bombs Shannon into the ladder. Shannon attempts the power bomb himself but Yang back drops him right into the ladder.

They have the ladder laid up on the middle rope and Yang is about to go for a superplex on Shannon but Shane comes in and trips up Yang and he ends up getting racked on the a rung of the ladder. That can’t feel to good. Shane nails Jamie with a lay down power bomb then Shannon nails him with a splash off the top rope. Shannon and Shane swing Jamie on to the ladder then they pile up Kaz and Yang on top of Jamie as Shannon runs and splashes on all three guys laying on the ladder.

Shane damn near gets the gold record but Kaz and Jamie stop them. We get dueling doomsday clotheslines on Kaz as well as Shane Helms. Yang gets to the top of the ladder but Shannon ends up knocking the ladder over. Jamie sets up the ladder near the rope and he climbs up to the top of the ladder and ends up nailing all three members of 3 Count with a big time cross body. That looked freakin awesome and was pretty crazy how far he dove to reach them. Just an awesome spot.

Yang gets his hands on the record but Evan stops him. Shannon sets up a second ladder while Kaz throws Evan off the ladder. Shannon grabs Yang by the back of his head and just drops him off the ladder. Shane nails Jamie with a spinning neck breaker off the ladder. This shit is insane. Such great spots. Evan suplexes Kaz off the ladder. Damn. Crowd is giving these guys a standing ovation which is well deserved.

They lay a ladder on the chest of Yang and they nail him with a double leg drop on each side of the ladder. They got Jamie in the corner and a ladder in front of him. They also have a ladder on the side of the ring. Yang does a walk up the ladder then nails Shane with a spinning leg kick. Evan is struggling here, but he said he was coming in at 65% because of his ankle. Evan ends up nailing Kaz with a power slam on the ladder. Shannon sets up a ladder on the middle of the ropes and he runs and jumps off the top rope and does a catapult and launches the ladder into the face of Shane and Jamie.

They have ladders in each corner of the ring. Shannon climbs up to the top rope and Jamie drops him with a hurricanrana off the top. Yang and Kaz go off the top of the ladders and hit a dueling splash on Shannon. Jamie ends up getting the gold record down and they drop kick him off the ladder and he drops the record and it ends up in the hands of Tank Abbott. Jamie hits a leg drop off the top onto Evan. Shane ends up throwing Kaz off the ladder and he ends up climbing up the ladder and working over Yang. Kaz gets knocked off the ladder and Shannon drops Yang off the other side. Jamie ends up hitting a sit down power bomb on Shannon.

They set up ladders in the middle of the ring and Shannon and Kaz race up the ladders to try and get the contract. Tank comes in and knocks both guys off the ladders. Evan then sets up the ladder and he climbs up and gets the recording contract to end the match. Your winners of the match……3 Count!

After the match 3 Count are in the ring celebrating while Tank Abbott leaves the ring with both the gold record and the recording contract.

Recap:
This was a pretty damn good ladder match. I know Starrcade 2000 gets a lot of love for the opening ladder match but this one was just as good. Some of the spots were just insane and they really put it on the line in this one. The shit with Tank Abbott was dumb and a waste of time but the match itself was pretty damn entertaining and a great way to open this show up.

Backstage Segment: Filthy Animals in Ernest Miller’s Office

Konnan is on the phone talking to someone while Rey is missing with this hand thing that was on Miller’s desk. Miller comes in and says what the hell is going on and that they need to leave his office. Rey says they are here to talk business and Miller says “i don’t need any hubcaps.” Konnan says hold on little Richard we got a plan. Rey says all they want to do is ref the tag team title match. Rey also says they want a title match on Nitro. Miller asks what in it for him. Rey says we will get the belts back and they will guarantee Miller will get the win against Muta. Disco then says “word to your mother” and Miller just shits all over him and says “Disco get the hell out of my office.”

Match 2: Ernest Miller vs. Great Muta

The Cat gets in the ring and gets on the mic right away. Miller says that Muta doesn’t understand English so he is going to break it down so he understands. Miller says you are the Great Muta and he is going to kick his great ass as he nails him with the microphone to get this one going. Miller lays in the right hands and then climbs the middle rope and lays in some more right hands. Miller hits his robot elbow drop as he taunts the crowd and calls himself the greatest.

Muta goes for two chop type moves but Miller blocks both and ends up nailing Muta with 3 beautiful looking kicks. The Cat is looking awesome here tonight. Miller nails Muta with a kick to the chest then a kick to the back of the head. Miller then whips Muta chest first into the turnbuckle and ends up nailing Muta with his Feliner kick for the 1-2-3. Your winner by pinfall…..The Cat Ernest Miller!

Recap:
This match was actually pretty damn good. The Cat was awesome and his kicks were pretty sweet as well. His Feliner kick was awesome and a great finisher by the way. Muta looked awesome per his usual. I loved the way he snapped moves off and just the way he moved in the ring. He is a little past his prime here but he was still fun to watch. Just a pretty solid match here. Again we are 2 for 2 on good matches but I can almost guarantee we don’t stay on this path for much longer.

They show Buff Bagwell looking for his mom in the backstage area.

Match 3: Judy Bagwell on a Forklift Match: Buff Bagwell vs. Chris Kanyon

Kanyon drives out a fork list with Judy Bagwell tied to it. He hoists the forklift high above. If Kanyon wins this match then Judy Bagwell has to be his valet or his Kimberly. Kanyon gets on the mic and says after all of this he’s gotta ask….who’s better than Kanyon? Kanyon says that everyone knows this was supposed to be a Judy Bagwell on a pole match but he has searched everywhere in this second rate country and couldn’t find a pole that could hold the big fat ball of wax known as Judy Bagwell. Kanyon then says this is now a Judy Bagwell on a forklift match. They show Buff in the back and he looks a monitor and sees his mom so he comes charging out.

Buff goes outside and lowers the forklift and he embraces with his mom. Buff leaves the ringside with his mom. Meanwhile, in the ring Kanyon helps David Arquette up to his feet and they embrace in the middle of the ring. Kanyon gives Arquette a hug but Kanyon ends up trading on him and he gets dropped with a Kanyon Cutter for his troubles.

Recap:
This match was surprisingly entertaining. Going in I thought they had to win by doing something with Judy Bagwell but I was mistaken there. They had to win by pin then you could help her off the forklift so that was a pleasant surprise. The stuff with Arquette was eh but since Kanyon was mocking DDP it made sense. Buff looked pretty good and some of the offense that Kanyon was doing was pretty damn impressive. He could come up with some pretty sweet moves in the ring if you ask me. He could have been better than what his career was and it’s a shame he is no longer with us. However, this was a solid match and worth checking out. Surprisingly we are 3 for 3.

We head outside where Lance Storm was shown arriving at the building. He got a huge pop. We then head to the announce desk where Tony tells us that Goldberg was injured at Sturgis. Tony says that Goldberg may not be here at all for his match at New Blood Rising. Scott says that Goldberg wasn’t there when they got there.

Match 4: Four Corners WCW Tag Team Title Match: Kronik (c) vs. The Perfect Event vs. Jindrak & O’Haire vs. Misfits in Action

Not only do we have 6 guys on the apron at once but we also have all 5 members of the Filthy Animals out here because they are the special referees. This immediately screams cluster if I ever saw it. Before the match starts Disco gets on the mic and starts rambling about dumb shit. Disco says that he knows the tag teams wanna kick his ass but they are the referee’s and Disco is the in ring ref. Rey, Juvi, and Tygress are the outside officials. Disco says if any of them put their hands on them they will be disqualified, heavily fined, and he will have them wrestling polar bears in northern Canada for the next 6 months. Disco says he can do this because he’s got it like that.

Palumbo ends up catching Cajun and drops him with a belly to belly suplex. Adams gets back in the ring and so does Clarke and they end up hitting Palumbo with High Time. Vampiro and Muta come out of no where and distract Kronik. Palumbo rolls up Adams but Disco only gets a 2 count. Palumbo is going for a move but Clarke nails him in the back. Clarke then nails Palumbo with the Melt Down. Clarke goes for the pin and Disco flips off Clarke and doesn’t count the three. Stasiak gets up and goes to the top rope and he goes for a move but Adams catches him and press slams him over the top rope onto Jindrak and O’Haire. Clarke and Adams then hit Palumbo with High Times as Chavo comes out of no where and decks Disco and counts the 1-2-3. Your winner and still WCW Tag Team Champions……Kronik!

Recap:
This match was okay but nothing special. It was all over the place and Konnan on commentary really distracts you from the match. O’Haire stole the show with the moves he was doing for his size. Just a lot of fun to watch. The rest of the match was eh and the crowd didn’t really care for it because they were taking the match over with their chants. All in all not a very good match but there are some things here that you could find entertaining.

Backstage Interview: Jeff Jarrett

Paulshock says that tonight Jarrett has the chance to win the WCW Heavyweight Title against Booker T. Paulshock says that Jarrett has done everything to wear him out but tonight lets see if he can finish the job. Jarrett calls her blondie and asks where Jurassic slapass Okerlund at. Jarrett questions if he sent her out because she wore him out last night. Jeff says as far as Booker goes he knows he’s not there yet because he has been looking for him all day long. Jarrett says as soon as he arrives he better have eyes in the back of his head because Jarrett will be looking for him because he wants his WCW Title back and thats a guarantee by the Chosen One. Jarrett says he is the man with all the stroke around this place and that she can choke on that Barbie.

Match 5: Strap Match: Shane Douglas vs. Billy Kidman

Douglas comes out and cuts a promo before the match. Douglas says that Kidman must think he’s cute entertaining all of these stupid Canadians with sex tapes. Douglas says what Billy has done is piss off the Franchise. Douglas says Torrie doesn’t deserve a punk like him. Douglas also questions how many times Billy has to get his ass Franchised before he realizes he isn’t man enough to handle Torrie all night. Douglas says he isn’t happy about being in this stupid country so he Douglas says that Kidman wanted a strap match and he has no problem taking some skin off his ass.

So this is just a strap match where you can use it as a weapon but you win via pinfall. Douglas starts the match by trying to get the momentum with the strap but Kidman ends up getting control of it and trips up Douglas. Douglas pulls Kidman in and nails him with a boot to the chest then some right hands. Douglas Whips Kidman into the ropes but Kidman does a baseball slide and trips up Douglas again. Kidman goes outside after Torrie and Douglas goes out after him but Kidman drops him with a clothesline.

Kidman then whips Douglas into the safety rail. Kidman gets into the ring and slides out on the other side of the post and pulls Douglas into the post. Kidman then chokes out Douglas up against the post. Kidman then tags the strap and nails Douglas in the back with it. Torrie gets on the rope distracting the ref and Kidman goes after her as Douglas takes the strap and trips up Kidman. Douglas puts the strap around the neck of Kidman and chokes him out with it. Douglas then gets in the corner and hits a brutal looking rolling neck snap on Kidman. That looked like it hurt a little bit but it was a pretty awesome looking move.

Douglas lays in some strap shots then pulls the nose of Kidman and wrenches back. Douglas then drapes Kidman over the middle rope as he distracts the ref Torrie chokes him over the rope. Douglas gets Kidman in a knuckle lock as he picks him up in the air and just drops him to the mat. Douglas picks up Kidman and drops him across the top rope and racking him. Douglas takes the strap and whips Kidman across the back with it. Kidman then starts laying in some right hands as he climbs up to the middle rope and lays in 10 punches. Kidman hits Douglas with a boot then a hurricanrana off the middle rope.

Kidman hits a clothesline then a drop kick on Douglas. He picks him up in a power bomb type move for a 2 count. Kidman finally rips the shirt off Douglas and starts laying in the shots with the leather strap. Kidman charges into the corner but Douglas moves out of the way and rams Kidman head first into the turnbuckle. Douglas goes up to the top rope but Kidman grabs him and drops him with a power slam off the top. Kidman then hits Douglas right in the nuts with the strap. Kidman does a bulldog off the middle rope for a 2 count. Douglas ends up getting a go behind on Kidman and charges towards the ropes where Torrie is waiting with her heel but Kidman dunks out of the way and Torrie nails Douglas with her heel. Kidman goes for the cover and gets a near fall.

Douglas picks up Kidman and goes to drop him across the top rope but Kidman damn near misses the rope and just falls to the match. Douglas goes for the Pittsburgh Plunge but Kidman reverses it in a roll up but Torrie gets in and turns it over and this time Douglas drops Kidman with the Plunge for a 2 count. Kidman then gets up and he rams Douglas into Torrie on the apron and Kidman drops Douglas with the Kid Crusher for the 1-2-3. Your winner by pinfall……Billy Kidman!

After the match Torrie gets in the ring with a steel chair but Kidman stops her before she can hit him. Kidman then takes the strap off Douglas and puts it on Torrie. Kidman then pulls Torrie near her as Kidman spanks her with the strap. Douglas ends up nailing Kidman from behind as he takes the strap and ends up choking Kidman out with it. Douglas takes Kidman and hangs over his back in the corner. Torrie took the chair away and Kidman damn near got choked out in real life because the chair moved to early. Vito comes out of no where and makes the save just in time to be honest. Douglas hightails it out of the ring as Vito challenges him in the ring.

Vito is looking on to Douglas and Reno comes out from behind and starts attacking Vito. Vito gets the upper hand and both guys are just brawling in the ring before Vito hits Reno with an atomic drop then a mafia kick.

Recap:
This match was okay. Nothing special but nothing terrible either. The after the match stuff was a little bit of a cluster but what can you expect from Russo. The guy just can’t help himself. Anyways, Douglas recently addressed the hanging spot on twitter and he said that the chair got moved out too early and it caused Kidman to be hanging for real because he couldn’t get his hands in to block it. Kidman was damn near choked out for real until Vito came in and made the save. That was a pretty scary looking spot and Kidman did look lifeless there just hanging. Anyways, thats worth checking out but the majority of the match was just eh.

They show Booker T arriving at the building and Jeff Jarrett attacks him from behind. Jarrett ends up taking the door and slams it into the knee of Booker T three or four times. He also holds the door into the knee and leaves him laying.

Match 6: Mud Rip Off The Clothes Match: Major Gunns vs. Ms. Hancock

Hancock and Gunns shake hands then Gunns slaps Hancock in the face. They get in a rolling cat fight. Hancock then throws Gunns into the corner then whips her to the other side as Hancock hits a handspring back elbow. Gunns then whips Stacy into the corner and kicks her right in the stomach. Gunns then does a Mr. Perfect neck snap on Hancock. Gunns goes for a perverted looking pin as Mark Madden marks out as does the crowd.

Hancock drops Gunns with a clothesline then rips off her top. Hancock then kicks Gunns in the gut then drops her shin over the throat of Gunns and chokes her out. Hancock does a leap frog then goes for a back drop but Gunns stops and hits her with a face buster. Gunns rolls Hancock over and he takes off her skirt. Gunns picks up Hancock and hits her with a body slam then goes for the pin for a 2 count. Hancock rakes the eyes of Gunns as she goes to the top rope and dances before hitting a cross body on Gunns.

Hancock then does a kip up and she whips Gunns into the corner but Gunns gets the foot up and drops Hancock. Gunns goes to the middle rope and hits Hancock with a sunset flip for a 2 count. Hancock goes for a cross body but Gunns moves out of the way and Hancock lands on the mat. Gunns hits a double ax handle off the apron to Hancock. Gunns grabs the hair of Hancock and is about to run her into the post but Hancock ends up pushing Gunns into the ring post instead.

Hancock then takes the shorts of Gunns and rips them off. Gunns chases Hancock down and ends up ripping the top off Hancock. Gunns charges at Hancock but Gunns ends up getting back dropped into the mud. Hancock walks away from Gunns but Gunns grabs her by the shorts and pulls her into the mud. Hancock takes Gunns and throws her into the sand bags. Hancock ends up dancing again but she starts grabbing her stomach for some reason but Gunns ends up rolling her up and gets the 1-2-3. Your winner of the match by pinfall…..Major Gunns!

After the match Gunns checks on Hancock who is doubling over in pain in her stomach. David Flair comes out of no where and checks on Hancock as Gunns and the ref are looking over her. EMTs come out and are taking her out of the arena.

Recap:
This was stupid and a waste of time. This was done to satisfy the perverted nature of Vince Russo and thats about it. I guess it also helped advance the storyline between Ms. Hancock and David Flair. Other than that this was a waste of time and not needed.

Backstage Interview: Vampiro, The Demon, and Great Muta

Paulshock tells Vampiro he has buried Sting, put him in a casket, and caught him on fire but he couldn’t stop him. Paulshock asks if tonight the Demon will do what Vampiro couldn’t. Vampiro says that Sting’s 9 lives have ticked down to 0 and the fate that the Juggalo Army has in store for Sting will make him dance with fire and look like child’s play. Vampiro says tonight is the Demon’s test and he wants to see if he has a black heart that is dark enough to hang with the Dark Carnival. Vampiro tells the Demon he better prove him wrong.

They go to the commentary where they say it is severe abominable pain for Ms. Hancock. They then show her getting taken out on the stretcher.

Match 7: Sting vs. The Demon

Sting comes down from the ceiling and the Demon comes charging at him. Sting nails him and then throws him into the security rail 2-3 times. They brawl back towards the ring then Sting throws the Demon into he guard rail again. Sting then throws the Demon into the ring and nails the Demon with a Stinger Splash and then nails the Demon with a Scorpion Death Drop for the 1-2-3. Your winner of the match by pinfall…..Sting!

Adams says that he is glad Vampiro and Muta showed up and that Vancouver is down with Kronik. Adams then challenges Muta and Vampiro for a match where they will put the Tag Team Titles on the line. Adams says they will show those punks that it is all about Kronik.

Recap:
Well there was absolutely nothing to this at all. I believe they just wanted to end the Demon character after he completely bombed. This is a good way to do it. The after the match stuff was pretty good and it allows us to get an extra match on the card. Just what we need to be honest. More of this show.

They show Booker T getting help from the trainer in the back.

Match 8: Canadian Rules Match for WCW United States Title: Lance Storm (c) vs. Mike Awesome

They go to the back where they show Lance Storm walking out to the ring. He is getting the secret service entrance ala Goldberg. Lance comes to the ring and gets on the mic and says after wrestling in front of rude and obnoxious fans in the US, he finally gets to wrestle in front of some real wrestling fans for the greatest country in the world. The crowd starts chanting US sucks. Storm says if they are wondering why the security in the back its because he has become a marked man in the US. Storm says the fans spit on him for defending his own country.

He says with irrational thinking like that has Storm worried about a terrorist attack in the back. Storm says it is not his fault that Americans think they rule the world. Storm says it’s not his fault that he threatens that illusion. Storm says that its not his fault that he defeats another American hero in Mike Awesome. Storm says in tradition of a Canadian rules match that he invokes Rule 32.B and he names a special guest referee to oversee the enforcement of the Canadian Rule Book. The crowd starts chanting for Bret Hart. Storm says he gives us a honorable Canadian and it’s Jacques Rougeau. Storm then says all rise for the Canadian National Anthem.

Awesome starts off quick with some punches and then a big time shoulder block. Awesome then gets Storm with a butterfly double under hook into a chest buster according to Scott Hudson. Awesome then nails Storm with a clothesline in the corner. Awesome then hits Storm with a jumping leg drop for a 2 count. Awesome goes for a clothesline then Storm nails Awesome with a beautiful kick to the face then throws him shoulder first into the turnbuckle post.

Storm hits a clothesline on Awesome in the corner. Storm then lays in the chops numerous times. Storm then goes for a suplex on Awesome but Awesome reverses it until Storm floats over and lands on his feet but Awesome hits him with a back elbow then a clothesline over the top rope to the outside. Awesome then whips Storm into the guard rail. Awesome then goes under the ring and pulls out a table. Awesome is about to power bomb Storm through the table but Storm ends up driving Awesome back first into the guard rail. Storm does a sling shot drop kick back into the ring.

Awesome whips Storm into the corner but Storm jumps to the top rope and goes for a cross body but Awesome catches him and dumps him with an over head belly to belly. Awesome heads up to the top rope but he ended up slipping because the rope looked slick. Awesome then drops Storm with a clothesline and he goes for the Awesome bomb to the outside on the table but Storm slides down and hits a backslide. Storm goes for the maple leaf but Awesome kicks him off. Storm charges at Awesome and he nails him with a sit down power bomb and goes for the cover and the ref ends up counting the three before Storm gets the shoulder up.

The bell rings but Jacques on the outside says it was only a 2 count but the ref in the ring says the match is over. However, Jacques looks into the rule book and says that according to the Canadian rules that you must beat your opponent with a 5 count so the match continues. Storm is on the apron and he goes for a hip toss to the outside but Awesome blocks it and Storm goes for a sunset flip but Awesome catches him and drops him with the Alabama slam. Awesome ends up getting Lance in the Dragon Sleeper and eventually Storm taps out so Awesome wins.

Jacques goes into the rule book again and says that in order to win under Canadian rules that you cannot win via submission but only by pinfall. Storm hits Awesome with a northern lights suplex for a 2 count. Storm rolls up Awesome for a 3 count. Awesome drops Storm with a release German suplex. Awesome gets to the outside and nails Storm with a sling shot shoulder block for a 4 count. Awesome goes up to the outside and nails Storm with a big time frog splash for a 5 count and the win.

Jacques again looks into the rule book and says that under Canadian rules that after a 5 count the man has 10 seconds to answer the bell for the win. This could have been a really good match but the over booking by Russo has completely ruined this match and has halted any momentum Lance Storm built over the 2-3 weeks winning all of the titles. What a joke. Awesome throws Storm to the outside and he goes out after him and throws the table inside. Storm ends up hitting Awesome with a low blow and then nails Awesome in the head with a chair shot.

Storm throws Awesome back into the ring and goes for the pin and Awesome gets out at a 4 1/2 count. Storm puts Awesome onto to the table as Storm goes to the outside and goes to the top rope. Awesome ends up off the table and stops the momentum of Storm. Awesome then hits Storm with a belly to belly suplex off the top rope through the table. Jacques then says the first guy who gets up to his feet after the 10 count will be come the winner of the Canadian Heavyweight title. Awesome gets up to his feet first but Jacques drops him with a right hand as Lance Storm gets to his feet before the 10 count. Your winner by whatever the hell you wanna say he won by….Lance Storm!

After the match is over Bret Hart comes out and the crowd goes ape shit for him. He gets in the ring and hugs both Lance Storm and Jacques Rougeau to give Storm the selloff approval. The crowd pops huge for that. Pretty awesome moment if you ask me.

Recap:
This match could have been really really good if they just let these two go at it. The stupid ass gimmicks to help Lance Storm was a joke and totally ruined this whole match. Storm was built rather well by winning 3 titles in a 2-3 week span and then he gets to this show in his home country and they book this shit? Russo was an idiot and this just left a bad taste in my mouth and totally ruined what could have been the best match on the card. What a stinkin joke.

Backstage Interview: Kevin Nash

Paulshock says the time has come fro the triple threat match but it may only be a one on one match because of the accident that has kept Goldberg from showing up. Nash says the keyword there is accident. Nash says what happened on the motorcycle is one thing but the real accident is pissing Nash off. Nash said he had an idea that this would happen and that Goldberg wouldn’t show up. Nash says it looks like it is just him and Steiner. Nash says the thing is he is in this sport for two things money and the belt and that he is getting the title show and going over Steiner tonight.

Match 9: WCW Tag Team Title Match: Kronik (c) vs. Dark Carnival

The match starts with Adams throwing Vampiro to the outside as Clarke stays in the ring to start the match. We start out with Clarke and Vampiro in the ring. Vampiro hits a spinning back kick then a chop to Clarke. Vampiro goes for a whip into the corner but Clarke reverses it and he ends up dropping Vampiro with a big shoulder block. Clarke ends up dropping Vampiro out of a whip into the ropes with a power bomb. Clarke tags in Adams and they end up hitting Vampiro with a double elbow.

Kronik goes for High Times on Muta but Vampiro comes in and breaks it up. Adams and Clarke then drop Vampiro with a double shoulder block. They are going for High Times again on Vampiro but the Harris Brothers come out of no where and hit Clarke with the H Bomb. Muta then goes up to the top rope and he hits the moonsault on Clarke as the ref comes to and they count the 1-2-3. Your winners and new WCW Tag Team Champions……The Dark Carnival!

Recap:
This match was eh. Kronik was real sloppy and the longer the match went the more exposed they became. Again we have another over booked ending to a match. I am not 100% sure who was booking this show but it has Vince Russo written all over it and it’s really starting to rear its ugly head ten fold. Theres really nothing bad about this match but it wasn’t very good either. Sounds like the majority of this card.

Backstage Interview: Booker T

Paulshock mentions what happened to Booker earlier and she says that we know Booker’s heart will hold up in the ring but what about his knee. Paulshock asks Booker if he will be defending his WCW Title tonight. Booker says that before Jeff Jarrett can take the belt away from him then he will have to kill him in the middle of the ring. Booker says Jarrett made one big mistake and its the fact that Booker is still standing. He says that Jarrett made this match personal when Jarrett took out his wife a few weeks ago. Booker says tonight when he leaves Jarrett laid out in the middle of the ring he wants Jarrett to not hate the playa but hate the game.

They show a highlight video of the feud between Goldberg, Scott Steiner, and Kevin Nash.

Match 10: #1 Contenders Match: Kevin Nash vs. Scott Steiner vs. Goldberg

Nash and Steiner come to the ring and they play the music of Goldberg but he never shows up. So we get a 1 on 1 match to start this one out. We get a collar and elbow tie up as Steiner drives Nash into the corner and he lays in the knees and the boots to Nash. He then lays in a brutal chop to Nash. Steiner goes for a whip but Nash reverses it and ends up hitting two knees to the stomach and then a big ass boot off an irish whip to Steiner. Steiner rolls outside to catch a breather as Nash goes out after him. Nash ends up throwing Steiner into the safety rail and then picks him up and drapes him over the guard rail.

Steiner goes to pick up Nash but Nash drops him with a low blow. Midajah gets back in the ring and drops an elbow on the nuts of Nash. Steiner then rolls over for the cover but Nash ends up kicking out at 2 1/2. Steiner was going for another suplex but Nash goes up and over and ends up dropping Steiner with a DDT. Nash goes for a pin but Midajah ends up breaking it up. Nash looks at Midajah as Steiner jumps on the back of Nash and gets him in a sleeper hold. Steiner then gets nailed with another big boot from Nash. Nash drops the straps again and Nash ends up hitting Steiner with a big time power bomb in the middle of the ring. Nash goes for the cover and he gets the 1-2-3. Your winner by pinfall and the new #1 Contender…..Kevin Nash!

Recap:
Not sure why this match went as long as it did because both guys were pretty blown up towards the end there. I have no idea what the hell was going on with Russo and Goldberg but this was typical of Vince Russo. The match itself was decent and entertaining and I enjoyed but it went about 2-3 minutes to long because of the guys that were involved. All in all not a bad match but not a great one either.

They show a highlight video of the feud between Booker T and Jeff Jarrett.

Match 11: WCW World Heavyweight Title Match: Booker T (c) vs. Jeff Jarrett

The traditional Michael Buffer intros are no exception here. Booker T gets attacked by Jarrett as he is getting into the ring and Jarrett goes right after the bad leg. Jarrett is just laying in the boots to the leg of Booker. Booker gets up to his feet and he nails Jarrett with some right hands and then a back elbow off the irish whip. Booker gets a roll up on Jarrett for a 2 count. Booker then hits a spinning wheel kick on Jarrett and drops him. Jarrett goes for a leap frog but Booker catches him and he drops him with a power bomb. Booker hits a standing side kick and then a clothesline over the top rope to the outside.

Booker goes out after him and throws him into the guard rail. This has been a favorite spot of everyone tonight. How about we try something different? Booker rams Jeff into the guard rail 2 more times. Booker gets Jeff back in the ring and lays in some vicious chops in the corner. Booker whips Jeff into the corner and Jarrett gets his feet up but Booker baseball slides down and trips Jarrett up as he pulls him nut first into the steel post. Booker heads up and goes for a 1 legged missile drop kick off the top rope. Jarrett moves out of the way and he didn’t get a lot on it.

Jarrett starts to work over the bad leg again. Jarrett continues to drop Booker by going after the bad leg again. He then drags Booker leg first into the steel post and he wraps the leg around the post. Jarrett then takes a chair and nails him in his knee while it is resting up against the steel post. Jarrett then takes the chair and rams it into the bad leg. Jarrett then picks up Booker and he drops him leg first on the guard rail. Jarrett finally throws Booker back into the ring and he continues to work over the bad leg of Booker. Jarrett then gets Booker in a Boston crab in the middle of the ring. Booker drags himself over to the ropes and Jarrett is forced to release the hold.

Jarrett and Booker end up on the outside as Jarrett grabs a chair and nails Booker in the knee with a chair shot. Jarrett whips Booker into the corner and Booker ends up getting a roll up out of it. They then hit each other with a double clothesline as both men are laid out. Both guys get up and they exchange punches. Jarrett gets whipped into the ropes and Booker ends up dropping him with a spine buster for a 2 count. Booker then hits Jarrett with a knee to the stomach and he hits Jarrett with the ax kick. Booker then does the spinarooni and he ends up hitting the ref and knocks him out.

Jarrett grabs his guitar and as Booker goes for the Harlem Side Kick and Jarrett nails him in the knee with the guitar. Jarrett then gets Booker in the figure four leg-lock right in the middle of the ring. Booker was finally able to crawl over to the ropes to break the hold but Jarrett doesn’t break the hold until the ref threatens him with a DQ. Booker falls to the outside as the ref checks on him. Jarrett then grabs the WCW title and he trails to nail Booker with it but Booker dunks and Jarrett ends up nailing the ref and knocking him out. More Vince Russo bullshit here.

Booker grabs the table that is set up ringside and Jarret goes for the stroke on to the table but Booker T reverses it and ends up nailing Jarrett with the Book End off the apron through the table. Jarrett ends up smacking his head on an end of the table before he goes crashing through it. That couldn’t have felt good. Anyways, Booker just throws him off the apron through the table and that looked pretty damn awesome.

Booker ends up picking up Jeff and throws him back into the ring but Jarrett gets his foot on the rope to break up the pin. Jarrett goes to the outside and grabs a chair. Jarrett ends up hitting Booker with a low blow and then he thinks Booker is on his back but he ends up decking the ref instead. Jarrett then sets up the chair in the middle of the ring and he ends up hitting the Stroke on Booker T in the middle of the ring. Jarrett goes for the pin but there is no referee until Charles Robinson comes running out. Booker ends up getting his shoulder up and stopping the count at 2 1/2.

Jarrett goes for a chair shot but Booker dunks and Booker ends up hitting Jeff with a spinning neck breaker. Jarrett gets the boot up on a charge in the turnbuckle and he goes off the middle rope as Booker goes for the Book End but Jarrett blocks it. Jarrett goes for an irish whip but Booker holds on and ends up nailing Jarrett with the Book End on his second try and he goes for the pin and gets the 1-2-3. Your winner and still WCW World Heavyweight Champion…..Booker T!

Recap:
This was a pretty good match but I have no idea why you need 3-4 ref spots when there were already 2-3 ref bumps in earlier matches. Typical Russo bullshit where everything is over booked and by the end of the show you are worn out by everything that goes on. Anyways, Booker put on a pretty good match and I liked the fact that Booker was doing moves but also protecting his bad leg. The little things like that can really enhance a match and it shows that the guy was dialed in and was focusing on his craft, which you can’t really say for the majority of the WCW roster at this point. This was a pretty good match to end the show and is worth checking out at least once.

Show Recap:
What to say about this show that hasn’t already been said. Russo really over booked the majority of these matches and it made the show drag. It’s amazing that during the first tag team title match we had 8 competitors fighting, 4 referees, 1 special guest commentator, and then we get interference from 2 other guys. Thats 15 people in one 10 minute segment. And thats just one match. The show started off pretty good with the ladder match where all 6 men were really doing their best to put on a good show. Some of the spots were insane for the time and really did a good job of getting these guys over.

We follow that up with the Judy Bagwell on a pole match that really wasn’t that bad. The Judy shit was just there but the match itself was entertaining. Buff was actually trying, at least it appeared that way, and you can really see it come through. The interference by Arquette wasn’t that bad but it wasn’t needed either but it makes sense due to Kanyon mimicking the DDP gimmick. After that it was all down hill from there.

The rest of the card had way to much shit going and some things didn’t make much sense at all. The Lance Storm vs. Mike Awesome match could have been a classic and a really good match but you stop and end it 3-4 times because of “Canadian Rules” and it totally ruins the whole thing. Lance Storm had all sorts of momentum and you pretty much ruined all of it in one night. I really don’t remember what the deal was with Goldberg just saying fuck you to Russo and walking out but that looked more like a shoot than a work but you never know with Russo.

The last two matches were good but not great and kind of save the show from the shit in the middle. Booker did a lot of great things in the ring and focused on the little things and if you pick up on it then you will know exactly what I am talking about. But again it was ruined a little bit by to much over booking with 3 ref bumps in a 3-4 minute time frame.

All in all this show as okay but nothing spectacular. There are some good spots but there are a lot of bad and it really all has to do with Vince Russo over booking and sticking people in just to get them on the show. I would recommend checking out the first two matches and the last two matches and skip everything else. Maybe give the Shane Douglas vs. Kidman match a shot but I wouldn’t be mad if you skipped it.

Hello everyone and welcome back to the Event Center, right here on CrazyMax. Last time you saw us we were talking about WCW Slamboree 00. Even though it was WCW 2000, it turned out to be a pretty good show. We followed that up with the the review that we did for The Rock because we checked out some WWF Raw from October of 2000. Well this time around we heading back to the summer of 1995 and we are heading to the beach. This time we are going to check out WCW Bash At The Beach 1995. This has always been one of my favorite shows from WCW because I always love the way the show looked by being on the beach. We had Baywatch involved and we had a cage match to finish up the show. So without further ado, lets get this show on the road.

Show Opening:

Show opens up with your typical beach references such as waves, sharks, and everything else you can think of. We then get Savage hyping up Slim Jim saying “Snap into the biggest thing ever to hit the beach. Snap into it!” They then show the two main events which are Flair vs. Savage and Hogan vs. Vader in a cage. We get a pretty sweet over head shot of everyone on the beach checking out the show. I’m sure no one paid because WCW sure did like to give away pay per views for free, Road Wild anyone? We head to Bobby and Tony ringside. Tony says this is the largest crowd ever to see a WCW wrestling event in the United States.

Tony says that the Roadkill Tour has come to an end here in Southern California. Bobby says not only is the Roadkill Tour coming to an end but so is Hogan’s career. Tony runs down the feud then heads to a highlight video for the monster Meng.

They show a highlight video on how dangerous Meng is.

Backstage Interview: Sting

Gene says Parker has made a lot of Meng and that Sting knows how tough Meng is. Sting says he knows how tough he is but this is Sting on his home turf. He says Meng is a bad bad dude and he can wipe anyone out. Sting says Meng knows 7 different forms of martial outs but he knows 7 different forms of crazy. Sting says with the ocean, palm trees, and waves and waves of Stingers big and small. Sting names drops some fans and lets us know that his mom and dad are sitting ringside. Sting says he is not going to be embarrassed on his home turf or with his mom and dad sitting ringside.

Match 1: WCW United States Title Match: Sting (c) vs. Meng

The ref calls for the bell and we get this one started. Sting is stalling a little bit as Meng comes in with some kicks and chops just to keep Sting on his toes. Little bit of a feeling out process going on early. We start off with a test of strength and Sting ends up driving Meng back into the corner and we get a clean break. Meng drives Sting into the corner and lays in the chops and punches before they start to exchange right hands. Sting gets the upper hand and he lays in the boots and fists. Meng feels none of it and taunts Sting like he is going to have to do better. Heenan says “you can’t pay me enough to fight that man.”

We get another tie-up and again Meng drives Sting into the corner and Meng gives him a clean break, surprisingly. Meng does it again and this time nails Sting with some shoulder blocks then chops to the trap area. Meng gets a nerve hold on Sting but Sting breaks out until Meng nails hi with a kick to the gut. Meng starts choking Sting out repeatedly and breaking when he gets to 4. Meng drops a leg drop and gets a 2 1/2 count out of it. And now we got the rest hold in the middle of the ring. Sting breaks free and gets an arm ringer on Meng.

Meng drives Sting to the corner and forces the break and nails him with a couple of chops to the face. Meng goes for a suplex a few times but Sting blocks it each time. These guys just seem off and this shit is terrible right now. Sting goes for a clothesline on Meng but Meng no sells it and taunts Sting. Sting is baffled because he doesn’t know what he can do to hurt the guy. They show a great shot of Sting’s face where he looks concerned. They tie up again and again Meng gets the advantage with chops and a body slam. Meng goes to the middle rope and goes for a diving head butt but Sting moves out of the way. Sting quickly gets to his feet and goes for the Scorpion Death Lock. Parker gets on the apron to distract Sting and he breaks the move. Meng then nails Sting with a kick to the midsection to get the advantage again.

Meng ends up throwing Sting to the outside and he gets a little rest inside. The action is finally picking up but it is probably only temporary. Meng suplexes Sting back into the ring and dumps him on his head. That looked pretty nasty. Meng then picks up Sting and drops him with three straight back breakers. That was a pretty awesome spot there as well. Picked him up 3 times without putting him down. Pretty damn impressive.

Meng follows that up with a bow an arrow type submission hold as he drives the knee into the back of Sting. Meng breaks the hold and continues to work the lower back of Sting. Now Meng gets Sting in an abdominal stretch. Meng breaks the hold and whips Sting into the ropes but Sting goes for a sunset flip for a 1 count. Meng gets up and goes for the sunset flip of his own but Sting jumps in the air and just drops his ass right on the face of Meng. Meng gets up to his feet first and he drags Sting to the middle of the ring and gets him in a shitty looking Boston Crab where he is holding legs in one arm instead of separating the legs. That looked like total shit.

Meng goes for a big elbow but Sting rolls out of the way. Sting gets up and nails Meng with a belly to back suplex. Sting gets up and he nails Meng with three straight clotheslines. He follows that up with a big time back body drop on Meng. Sting then chop blocks the leg of Meng. Sting then collides with Meng and hits him with the Thesz press. Sting ends up hitting Meng with a hurricanrana that was total shit. Meng flipped early and then Sting landed on him. Sting does a cross body off the middle rope and over shoots Meng. These spots are just sloppy and off. Not a good match at all. Sting goes in for the Stinger Splash but Meng ends up flooring him with a side kick to the face. That was freaking awesome. What a counter.

Meng picks up Sting and drops him with a body slam. He then climbs to the middle rope and goes for the big splash and nails Sting with it for a 2 count. Meng gets hot with the ref and damn near throws him out of the ring. Meng throws Sting into the ropes and goes for a big boot but Sting ducks under and ends up rolling up Meng for the 1-2-3. Your winner and still WCW United States Champion…..Sting!

After the match, Meng nails Sting from behind and ends up kicking him a few times and getting him out of the ring. Hawk comes out and checks on his friend Sting as Meng stares him down from inside of the ring.

Recap:
This match was pretty shit from start to finish. The spots were extremely sloppy and were just missed. Sting would over shoot Meng and it made the moves look pretty bad. The finish was terrible as well because Sting couldn’t get him rolled up correctly so Meng had to just fall back. All in all this was just a garbage match and not really worth checking out. The best part of the whole match was Meng’s side kick on the Stinger Splash and since I gave you the gif of that there really is no need to watch this match.

Backstage Interview: Renegade & Jimmy Hart

Okerlund tells us that Renegade will be defending his TV Title against Paul Orndorff. Jimmy Hart says if you pick up any wrestling magazine in the country, they are talking about the Renegade. He says after tonight it will be all Mr. Wonderful will be talking about as well. Renegade is just shaking his head and screaming like an idiot. Ultimate Warrior he is not. Renegade tells us that Jimmy Hart has programmed him to T.O.S…..TERMINATE ON SIGHT!!!! As he starts snorting and shaking his head uncontrollably. Words can’t describe this mess so far. Jimmy tells us that the Renegade is ready as he does his trade mark laugh.

Match 2: WCW Television Title Match: Renegade (c) vs. Paul Orndorff

The match starts fast and Orndorff ends up nailing the Renegade with a knee to the midsection and throws him down by the hair. Orndorff lays in the boots on a prone Renegade. Orndorff drops an elbow to the midsection while Renegade is still laid out on the floor. Orndorff heads outside and climbs to the top rope and comes off but the Renegade gets the boot up and stops Orndorff. Renegade gets up and nails Orndorff with 2 clotheslines and then a third that sends Orndorff up and over to the outside.

After the match Orndorff attacks the Renegade and the crowd goes nuts for it. Orndorff then picks up the Renegade and dumps him with the piledriver as the crowd marks out for it. Renegade sits right up and he goes up to the top rope and ends up nailing Orndorff with a cross body off the top rope as the crowd boos the guy off the beach.

Recap:
This match was garbage as well. Orndorff carried the match and did well but Renegade was just garbage. He threw three of the worst drop kicks I’ve ever seen. The fact that the crowd was booing the hell out of this guy says it all about the terrible gimmick and the bullshit of him being the TV champ. All in all two crap matches so far. Hopefully it gets a little bit better.

They show Kamala joining the Dungeon of Doom.

Backstage Interview: Jim Duggan

Duggan comes into the interview hooting and hollering at nothing. Duggan says he has tried again and again to play by the rules but things are getting out of hand. Duggan says he has a statement and that it is no more Mr. Nice Guy. Duggan says he will strike to take the Taskmaster down and he will strike to take down Kamala tough guy. HOOOOO! What a shit promo.

Match 3: Jim Duggan vs. Kamala

Duggan acts like he is going to nail Kamala with a 2×4 before the match even starts. Duggan starts his USA chant as the bell rings. Both guys tie up then they start exchanging lefts and rights with each other as this thing gets started. Duggan winds up and nails Kamala with a punch but it doesn’t knock Kamala down. Duggan hits the ropes and hits a shoulder block and Kamala still doesn’t go down. He hits him with a second shoulder block and nothing. Duggan finally drops him with a clothesline.
Kamala pokes Duggan in the eye and he starts laying in the rights and head butts. Duggan goes for a body slam on Kamala but Kamala blocks it and then chokes Duggan over the middle rope. Duggan gets back up and Kamala ends up getting him in a bear hug. We are in this hold for close to a minute. Duggan breaks free by stepping on the feet of Kamal. Duggan then lays in some right hands until he goes for a splash on Kamala in the corner but Kamala moves out of the way. Kamala gets Duggan in a nerve hold in the arm pit. Duggan tries to break free by hitting Kamala with some right hands.

Duggan then starts biting the face of Kamala and this causes Kamala to break the hold. Duggan lays in some right hands and then whips Kamala not the ropes for a stiff clothesline. Duggan then picks up Kamala and hits him with a body slam. Duggan gets int he 3 point stance and goes for his clothesline but Kamala falls down before Duggan even makes contact. Duggan gets distracted by Kevin Sullivan on the outside when the Zodiac comes out of no where and nails Duggan in the back with Kamala’s mask. Kamala turns around and goes for the cover for the 1-2-3. Your winner by pinfall…..Kamala!

Recap:
Another shit match here at Bash at the Beach. I wasn’t expecting anything less considering who was involved but man they could have given us just a little bit more. Duggan was mailing it in by this point and Kamala has never really impressed me. All in all another stinker here and so far you can skip the first 52 minutes of this show. Usually these shows start off really good but then fall a part towards the end. Hopefully its the opposite this time around and these final few matches turn the card around.

Backstage Interview: Macho Man Randy Savage

Savage says it is going to finally come to a head at Bash at the Beach. Savage says that he and Flair have the chemistry to disagree. Savage agrees to disagree with Flair because Flair is the styler and profiler and he has been making a statement but that statement is going to be coming to an end later on. Gene asks what role the life guards are going to have in this match. Savage says he doesn’t care who they are or what they are. Savage says tonight it is all about emotion, family, and survival. Savage says he is from Florida but we are in California but they the common denominator is the beach and Savage feels at home on the beach. Savage says that he is looking at him, zeroing in on him, and that he is coming to get him. OH YEAH!!!!!

Match 4: Diamond Dallas Page vs. Dave Sullivan

Kimberly gets in the ring and a little kid hands her a dozen roses. This pisses DDP and he breaks the roses over the head of Kimberly. Sullivan sees what is going on and he comes charging in the ring to protect Kimberly. Dave picks up the roses and rubs them in the face of Page and then rams him into the turnbuckle. Dave suplexes DDP back into the ring to get this thing going. Page is calling timeout in the corner then he grabs Dave by the trunks and drops him on the middle turnbuckle. DDP goes for a punch but Dave ducks and hits Page with an atomic drop.

Page whips Dave into the corner and he goes for a splash in the corner but Dave moves out of the way and DDP barely racks himself over the top rope. Dave ends up flooring DDP with a clothesline and he follows that up with stomping on the hand of DDP. Dave rams Pages head into the turnbuckle then pokes him in the eye. Dave calls for his bear hug again and Dave gets him in the inverted bear hug until Maxx Muscle distracts him. Page hits Dave with a knee to the back and turns him around and drops him with the Diamond Cutter for the 1-2-3. Your winner by pinfall……Diamond Dallas Page!

Recap:
Another shit match here. I’m starting to sound like a broken record but anything involving Dave Sullivan is going to be a dumpster fire. The Diamond Cutter was a nice finish but other than that, absolutely nothing to see here. We have 3 matches left and hopefully they come through for us. From what I remember these last 3 matches are pretty entertaining and good. Then again anything is going to be better than the first 4 matches I’ve watched.

Backstage Interview: Harlem Heat & Sister Sherri

Gene tells Sherri that it is going to be a little crowded in the ring with this triangle match. Sherri says it is going to be unusual but not for her tag team. Sherri says that Harlem Heat are two time champions and that it doesn’t matter what the other two teams will do because we are coming out on top. Booker T says he has a couple of things to say and shuts Gene up. Booker says that if they want some they can come and get some but they better big enough and bad enough to take some because tonight it is going to be on like a big ol pot of neck bones that have been cooking for 3 days.

Gene says that Stevie Ray was stepping on his foot but Stevie takes that and starts his promo by saying that Gene just got in the way just like the Nasty Boys and the Blue Bloods have. Stevie says that they are going to be beating two suckas or tag teams at one time and there aint going to be nothing to it.

Match 5: WCW Tag Team Title Triangle Match: Harlem Heat (c) vs. Blue Bloods vs. Nasty Boys

They start the match with a coin toss and the Nastys and Harlem Heat get to start the match. All 6 men end up in the ring at first and its out of control early. The Nasty’s get Regal in the pit stop and he’s outside about to vomit. They then get Bobby Eaton in the pit stop as they roll to the outside while the Nasty Boys are the only ones in the ring currently. Booker T gets in the ring and he squares off with Knobbs to get this going the right way. Booker nails Knobbs with a boot to the face then a club to the back. Knobbs nails Booker with a clothesline and Booker gets turned inside out. Regal tags himself in and comes in and ends up getting tripped up by Booker then stepped on. Booker follows that up with a very nice jumping side kick.

We got both Nastys as well as Regal and Booker in the ring. Saggs ends up backdropping Booker on top of Regal and once he does that he sits down on both Regal and Booker and goes for the cover. The ref counts the 1-2-3 but Booker was actually laying on top of William Regal so the ref rewards the bout to Harlem Heat. Your winners and still WCW World Tag Team Champions…..Harlem Heat!

Recap:
This match was all right. There is nothing special going on but nothing terrible either. It was more of a slugfest and a lot of action because you have 6 people involved. The reason this match kind of sucks is the fact that the commentators really had no clue what was going on. Half way through the match Heenan says they shouldn’t be pinning a member of the Nasty Boys, you have to pin Harlem Heat. Only for Tony to correct him and tell him that anyone can be pinned. They also announced this was an elimination match but as soon as the match starts the commentators were basically telling us it was a one fall to the finish. They just had no idea what the hell was going on and it really takes away from the match. The finish was pretty sweet with Booker getting the pin even though Saggs was on top of both. Other than that this match was just eh and not really worth checking out.

Backstage Interview: Harlem Heat & Sister Sherri

Gene says they should feel fortunate. Sherri says that we have just shown everyone what greatness really means. Sherri says that they are still the WCW tag team champions. Stevie said the whole world just saw that they did what they said they were going to do. Stevie says they beat up two slobs as well as two foreigners. Gene says that Dick Slater and Bunkhouse Buck will are the #1 contenders for the titles. Booker says that they are not closet champions and they will take on anyone. Booker says they will put the belt on the line against anyone including the Nasty Boys, Blue Bloods, and the Studd Stable. Sherri says they don’t under estimate anyone and that Bunkhouse Buck and Dick Slater will get their title shot. Gene checks out Sherri’s ass as they walk off and he sends us back ringside.

Backstage Interview: Ric Flair

Gene says that he has attacked verbally, physically, and every other way possible, Randy Savage. Flair says what we are talking about tonight is the Macho Man vs. The Nature Boy. Flair says that when Elizabeth first saw the Nature Boy she broke down and had to have it, just like the Baywatch girls. Gene asks Flair if she went to space mountain and Flair says you know she did baby. Flair says Savage has 3 things to remember tonight: 1. He slept Liz off her feet at her finest hour. 2. He backslapped Savage’s father because he got in his way. 3. Flair says there is only one who has kissed all the girls and made them cry and its him the Nature Boy. Flair says that he owns Savage tonight at Bash at the Beach.

Match 6: Lifeguard Match: Randy Savage vs. Ric Flair

Before the match gets started they bring out the Baywatch girls. The camera cuts to the commentators table where Heenan is standing on top of his chair trying to check out the girls. It’s a pretty hilarious spot.

Flair goes up top and Savage throws him off. Savage goes up to the top rope and hits Flair with another ax handle. Savage body slams Flair and Savage goes up to the top and nails his flying elbow on Flair. Savage goes for the cover and gets the 1-2-3. Your winner by way of pinfall……Macho Man Randy Savage!

Recap:
This was a pretty good match here. They brawled a lot but they also did some wrestling and put on a really good show. This feud was pretty intense because they added Savage’s father to the mix and everybody knows that would infuriate Macho so it worked well. It was a clean finish and one that should have ended the feud and it may have but I am not 100% sure on that. Finally the first good match of the card and it’s the second to last one on the show. I’d recommend checking this match out if you are fan of either guy.

Backstage Interview: Vader

Vader comes into the interview area throwing a chair and yelling what time is it? Gene tells him it’s Vader time so Vader asks him again what time is it? Vader says somebody needs to show this chump what time it is. Vader says the whole world and WCW know what time it is and in just a few minutes Hulk Hogan and Hulkamania is going to find out what time it is. Vader says he is the most powerful wrestler in the world today. He says he fears no man. Vader says he grew up in inner city LA and while Hogan was down there getting his tan and his new car, Vader was fighting for survival. Vader is all over the place and not making much sense but his intensity and delivery is awesome. Vader says Hogan is going back to Hollywood where Hogan belongs.

Gene says that he has pissed off promoters around the country because of the damage Vader did on his roadkill tour. Vader says that just proves there no where to run and no where to hide. Vader says he has chased him from the east coast to the west coast. No there is no other place for him to go. Vader says his road kill tour has stacked up the bodies but the talking is over and it’s just a matter of time before Hogan finds out about Vader time.

Backstage Interview: Hulk Hogan, Jimmy Hart & Dennis Rodman

Gene says the last time he saw Rodman was at the airport in Detroit. Rodman says that will be the last time you ever see him at the airport in Detroit. Hogan says he has been riding Harleys up and down west coast highway. Hogan says we all heard the crap that Vader was talking about growing up in the inner city. Hogan says thats a bunch of crap and that Vader has been no where around there. Rodman, for no reason just wipes the mouth of Hogan. Vader says that we have Vader right where we want them. Hogan says they are going to make Woodstock look like a backyard BBQ. Hogan says he is going to slam Vader and launch him over the cage. He says the sharks will be waiting and they will eat Vader limb from limb.

Hogan says that Rodman is the nastiest guy in the NBA. Hogan says after Rodman says his prayers and eats his vitamins he can do whatever he wants. Hogan says Rodman will be right outside the door and if anyone wants to interfere then they gotta deal with Rodman and Rodman says he is going to bash anyone who tries it. Hogan says Rodman will turn their faces into hamburger meat as he rubs them into the cage. Hogan asks what are they going to do when the power of Hulkamania destroys you!

Match 7: WCW World Heavyweight Title Cage Match: Hulk Hogan (c) vs. Vader

Hogan climbs into the ring over the cage and immediately goes after Vader and chokes him out with his shirt. He rams Vader into the cage numerous times. Hogan has Vader in the corner and lays in the 10 punches and he follows that up with 10 kicks to the head of Vader. Hogan hits Vader with a back elbow and a few chops. He tries to ram Vader into the cage but Vader blocks it and rams Hogan into the cage. They then exchange right hands as Hogan gets the advantage. He tries to ram Vader into the cage but Vader blocks it again and Hogan gets thrown into the cage.

Vader lays in the vicious right hands to the face of Hogan. Vader rams the face of Hogan into his mask. He tries to do it again but Hogan blocks it and Hogan rams Vader into the mask of Vader. Hogan then puts the mask on his head and stalks across the ring waiting for Vader to get up. Hogan then gives Vader a head butt with the mask on his head. What a stupid looking sequence of moves but it looked pretty damn funny.

Hogan takes the mask off and starts working Vader over some more. Vader reverses a whip and splashes Hogan in the corner. Vader climbs up to the middle rope and nails Hogan with a Vader Bomb. Vader goes up to the middle rope again and hits Hogan with the Vader Bomb. Vader goes for the pin and gets a 2 count. Vader picks up Hogan in a spear type position and rams Hogan head first into the cage. Vader puts Hogan in the corner and just levels him with 3-4 big right hands. Vader picks up Hogan and drops him with a suplex but he doesn’t even go down to the mat with Hogan. That was pretty damn awesome. Vader was trying to leave the cage but Hogan ends up getting up and rams Vader head first into the cage. Hogan rams him into the cage a second time. Hogan goes for a body slam but Vader blocks it.

Vader snaps Hogan over and heads up to the top rope and goes for a back splash but Hogan gets out of the way. It damn near looked like Vader was going for a shooting star by the way he landed. Hogan gets up and lays in some right hands and whips Vader into the corner as Hogan comes in with a clothesline. Hogan picks up Vader and goes for a slam but he can’t get him up and Vader comes crashing down on him. Vader gets a head lock on Hogan. Both guys get up and they exchange right hands until Hogan rakes the eyes of Vader. Hogan whips Vader into the rope and drops Vader with a clothesline.

Hogan says he is going to slam Vader but the crowd is mixed with some boos as well as some cheers. Hogan picks up Vader and drops him with a body slam but it took everything out of Hogan as he is laid out on the mat. Vader drops Hogan with a short arm clothesline. He follows that up with coming off the middle rope with a big splash. Hogan starts Hulking up and the crowd comes in with the boos. Vader nails Hogan and the crowd just groans. They are over this shit. Vader throws Hogan into the cage and Hogan no sells it as Vader throws him into the cage again. Hogan ends up throwing Vader into the cage 4 times then whips him into the ropes and hits him with the big boot. Vader doesn’t go down.

Hogan comes off the rope and its Vader with a big boot to the face. The Taskmaster and Zodiac come out of no where and they try to get into the match but Rodman stops them and rams Zodiac head first into the cage before he grabs a chair and fends off both guys. In the ring Hogan hits Vader with the leg drop twice. Hogan then attempts to climb out over the cage but Vader stops him. Both guys are standing on the top rope exchanging chops until Hogan racks Vader on the top rope and exits the cage over the top of the cage. Your winner and still WCW World Heavyweight Champion…..Hulk Hogan!

Tony wraps up the show as Heenan says he has had enough. Flair comes out of the back and gets in the ring with Vader. Flair asks Vader what the hell happened. Tony and Bobby are talking as if they are off the air. Flair is just berating Vader in the ring. Vader grabs Flair by the throat until Arn Anderson comes in and stops Vader. Arn is about to get leveled by Vader but he high tails it out of the ring. Flair goes flying over the top of the cage and falls on his ass on the outside. Vader chases them out. Vader says he will take on both Flair and Anderson at anytime. Vader says they stuck there nose in his business for the last time.

Recap:
There wasn’t much to this match at all either. Its a typical Hogan WCW match. Pretty lazy and boring if you ask me. The crowds mixed reaction to Hogan was pretty cool to hear because WCW was to lazy to dub over it. The crowds just didn’t like him or the guys he associated with, Renegade anyone. I am surprised it took them a whole other year for him to turn but thank goodness he did because he wasn’t going to last much longer with his normal gimmick. Vader getting jobbed out like a little bitch was a shame by WCW because he was such a huge monster prior to Hogan coming in. Hogan coming in and just jobbing him out made him useless and that sucks because Vader was pretty damn good. Anyways, you can check out this match if you want but you aren’t missing anything if you don’t.

Show Closing:

They go to the commentator table where Tony and Bobby wrap up the show and discuss what just happened between Vader, Ric Flair, and Arn Anderson. They also show a replay of what Rodman did to the Zodiac and Sullivan. Tony then wraps up the show and sends us to the credits as this one is finally over.

Show Recap:
Welp that about does it for this one thankfully. There is one good match out of this whole show and it was the Flair vs. Savage match. To be honest we have seen better from both of those guys as well but if you had to watch one thing on this card it is this one. Other than that it was just garbage after garbage and nothing worth watching. Th opener had promise but they just didn’t mesh well and the match was just bad. They missed a lot of spots and were just off. Everything after that up until Flair vs. Savage is unforgettable and not worth checking out.

The ending of the tag title match was different and pretty cool but the match itself really made no sense. The commentators had no idea what was going on and even mentioned it during the match. The only thing good there is the finish. Savage and Flair was good because they were in a pretty intense rivalry at the time and you could feel that heat through the screen. Just a pretty good feud and pretty good match.

One thing about this show that I do enjoy is the fact that it is on a beach. Sometimes a venue can make a show and this is one of those shows. You can look past some of the terrible in ring action, just a little bit, and enjoy the setting because it’s just different. That is one thing I enjoy about watching different shows is seeing the venue and how they are going to have it setup.

All in all there is really nothing worth watching on this show at all. If you are fans of Savage and Flair then you most likely have seen this match or one similar numerous times so it’s not worth sitting through to get to that match. The main event was weak and it just furthered squashed Vader and ruined one of the better monsters of the 90s. The rest of the card was very weak and didn’t live up to any expectations what so ever. It’s almost as if nobody cared on the card because they were to busy living it up on the beach prior to the show. Hard telling what caused the bad matches but this is one of those shows you can watch but you most likely won’t enjoy it.

Well that wraps it up here on the Event Center. This is the first show that really sucked from opening to close and I was surprised by that. I used to enjoy this show when I was younger but now theres no way I could watch it again after this. Anyways, coming up next is another PPV from the WWF. We are going back to the year 2000, again? Yes again. And We are going to be hitting up one of my all time favorite pay per views. Thats right we are going to be reviewing the Royal Rumble live from Madison Square Garden.
