Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

We noted before there was talk of holding the 2015 WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view at either the Barclays Center in Brooklyn or the Izod Center in East Rutherford, NJ.

Even though the event would be held during the summer, The Wrestling Observer reports that there was some talk of trying to host the event at MetLife Stadium, the site of WrestleMania 29.

Regarding Madison Square Garden, it’s likely too expensive to run a major show there these days, compared to other arenas in the same area.

Bully Ray’s TNA Contract Talks And Goodbye Meeting, Why WWE Won’t Bring Him Back

Regarding what Bully Ray told the TNA crew backstage at the live event on Sunday night, he didn’t say he was gone yet but was saying his goodbyes because he thought he was on his way out. Based on what he was saying to some of the wrestlers, he believes he may never be back with TNA.

TNA and Bully were in talks for a new deal but couldn’t come to terms, similar to the situation with AJ Styles and others in the past year or so.

There’s talk that we will learn of many more TNA deals expiring in the next few weeks.

Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

Regarding speculation that Bully Ray could be returning to WWE once his TNA deal expires, WWE expressed no interest in him for years and even when Devon was contractually available, WWE didn’t make a play. Bully has his detractors within WWE from his previous run there, most notably Randy Orton, and his age is a factor. Bully just turned 43 this summer.

Bully could obviously be an asset in WWE developmental working with the younger talents or as a backstage producer but WWE seems to have those positions filled right now and they’re not making a lot of staff hires due to the ongoing budget cuts.

“I’m hearing Daniel Bryan needs Tommy John surgery and will be out at least 3 more months.”

Tommy John Surgery is a procedure where the ulnar collateral ligament in the medial elbow is replaced with a tendon from somewhere else in the body. The procedure is common among athletes, especially baseball players. It was named after the first baseball player to undergo the surgery, former MLB pitcher Tommy John.

What Big Plans WWE Had For Olympic Gold Medalist Henry Cejudo, Why He Chose UFC Instead

Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

Henry Cejudo, who was the 2008 Olympic gold medalist in free style wrestling, recently confirmed to MMAJunkie.com that he almost signed with WWE but chose UFC instead.

Before he made his decision, Cejudo was scheduled to come to WWE SummerSlam to meet with company officials. He had been pitched the idea of becoming WWE’s top Latino babyface and they told him they would groom him to become the new Rey Mysterio.

He told MMAJunkie.com:

“It was something that was actually in the works. One of their talent scouts (Gerald Brisco) saw me, met me, and wanted to bring me in for an audition or whatnot.

“I’ve always watched WWE ever since I was a little kid. But MMA right now is my No. 1 priority. Maybe WWE in the future, but as of now, I’m sticking straight to the UFC and my fighting career. It might be worth trying it out some day, but as of right now, I solely train and think about MMA.”
