Fans Upset At The WWE Royal Rumble, Curtis Axel Wants His WrestleMania Title Shot

0

– A fan in attendance at last night’s WWE Royal Rumble in Philadelphia noted that the heat we heard on TV during the main event was extremely loud in person. He said chatter among fans as they left the Wells Fargo Center was negative and a lot of fans were really upset about Daniel Bryan’s Rumble elimination. WWE’s Facebook page posted a poll asking fans if they enjoyed the Rumble and as of this writing, over 15,000 have voted “thumbs down” while just over 5,000 have voted “thumbs up.”

– As seen at the WWE Royal Rumble last night, Curtis Axel never got to enter the 30-man main event as he was attacked and replaced by Erick Rowan. Axel tweeted the following and says he wants his WrestleMania 31 shot at WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar:

Got jumped by lamb-guy & lose my spot in the #RoyalRumble? Never eliminated! I’m your winner dammit! I want @BrockLesnar at #WrestleMania!

— Curtis Axel (@RealCurtisAxel) January 26, 2015

The people know! You all saw it! Trending world wide during whole #RoyalRumble. I want my #WRESTLEMANIA match!

Eric Bischoff – Bruce Prichard Debate Highlights: Hulk Hogan In DX?, Who Came Up With Doink, Savage

0

Thanks to WrestlingINC.com reader Kerry Morris @chitownot for sending in these highlights from this afternoon’s Eric Bischoff – Bruce Prichard debate, moderated by Chris Jericho:

The show started late because Jericho wanted to finish his lunch. The crowd was not happy. Most of the show was old info, but here are some interesting items:

* Prichard said that “Macho Man” Randy Savage was extremely drunk the morning he called Vince McMahon to quit.

* Road Warrior Hawk came up with the Doink character.

* When Scott Hall and Kevin Nash’s contracts came up in 1996, Vince McMahon really only wanted Scott Hall to stay. McMahon didn’t care that Nash was leaving.

* There was an idea by WWF creative in late 1997 to have Hulk Hogan come back and be the leader of DX. Hogan would then pass the torch to Steve Austin and drop the belt to him at WrestleMania 14.

WWE Teases Rock’s Return, Lana Sends Message

0

The main story on WWE.com right now is about The Rock tweeting last night that he was in Philadelphia, the site of tonight’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view. They wrote:

“Could The Great One have business in Philadelphia beyond the Rumble, perhaps involving one of his upcoming blockbuster film releases? As the WWE Universe knows, the Royal Rumble Match is known for its surprise entrants and there would be no such appearance greater than the former WWE Champion, himself. Will we see The Rock appear as one of those possible surprises?

“Or perhaps he has something else planned for the event if he does indeed show up? Does The People’s Champion perhaps have unfinished business with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar that Rock will look to resolve live tonight in Philly?”

Lana also commented on the Rock being in Philly, tweeting:

.@TheRock doesn’t scare me or @RusevBUL! He is just another pathetic American too busy stuffing his face with cheesesteaks in Philadelphia!

Spoiler Updates On Possible WWE Royal Rumble Surprises For Tonight, Rock, Sting

0

Source: PWInsider

Regarding Sting possibly appearing at the WWE Royal Rumble tonight, PWInsider reports that as of yesterday there was no talk that he was going to be in Philadelphia.

Diamond Dallas Page flew into the East Coast from Utah overnight and he’s still expected to be a surprise entrant in tonight’s 30-man main event. Page was in Utah for the new Jake Roberts documentary premiere.

There’s a rumor going around WWE that The Boogeyman may be a surprise entrant tonight.

Last night, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson appeared to tease an appearance at the Royal Rumble by posting a photo online of himself in Philadelphia. Of course, the event will be held tonight at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. It was later reported by F4WOnline.com that Johnson is expected to appear at the event in some capacity.

According to MetsFan4Ever of Reddit.com, a former WWE employee who maintains contact with people in the organization, he was told in recent weeks that company officials have had serious discussions of Johnson making a surprise appearance in the Royal Rumble Match and ultimately winning it. This would lead to Johnson facing Brock Lesnar in the main event at WrestleMania 31 in Santa Clara, California.

MetsFan4Ever was also told that if the deal falls through, Johnson was willing to at least make an appearance on the show. This could include putting Roman Reigns over in a backstage segment.

He also says that WWE officials have considered having Bray Wyatt win the Royal Rumble Match. Many people in WWE have high hopes for Wyatt and “feel the sky is the limit for him.”

MetsFan4Ever added there has been talks of Sheamus returning to WWE tonight in the Royal Rumble Match, but as of last night, he was at home in Florida.
