Goldberg appearing at the huge Legends of Wrestling Event at Citi Field on June 7th and what is it about Goldberg that keeps fans clamoring for one more match:

Hes the real deal, bottom line. What he says he does. Back in the day he is the only one to have a streak like he did. What he says, he does. There is never BS when it comes to Bill Goldberg. If he says you are getting the Jack-Hammer you are getting it. If you are going to get a spear, have an ambulance ready. With him on the bill, you know something is bound to go crazy and its going to be a very fun night for everybody.

Who was a favorite tag team of the Nasty Boys to work against:

We had some of our best matches with The Rockers. We liked each other and trusted each other, they are the ones that innovated the different maneuvers that you didn’t see before like the double leap frogs, double drop downs, double hip toss, double elbow/pop up a lot of double stuff put together and that was all done by Shawn (Michaels) and Marty (Jannety). We were more of the brawlers. But we worked so fantastic together. I remember a match against them that still holds up in my head and it’s on one of the Coliseum Videos from the WWF. Nasty Boys against The Rockers at the Royal Albert Hall in England. We were the tag champs at the time and what a great match we had, we just clicked and you could see that. When you are in with a group where you are learning from them or and maybe a little older then you in the ring and you get along then you can see the work that happens in the ring and how smooth it works and how good everything looks.

Working with Jimmy Hart as the Nasty Boys manager:

I consider him to be our true manager. He is the one that took us to the top and he is definitely one of the best managers out there. From Capt. Lou Albano to Bobby the Brain Heenan you’ve got a lot of different managers out there, but Jimmy Hart is the hardest working man in show business and he still looks fantastic. He is still out there doing his thing and he loves this business and was a true manager for us when we first broke into the business. When we got to WWE, he said that he would ride with us and get a room together and help us out. After 10 days we landed in Tampa and he said “Nasty Boys, I love you but you guys can handle it from here”, he lasted 10 days with the Nasty Boys and we weren’t rooming or riding together anymore. But those were the crazy days, what can I say?

The origin of the Nasty Boys look:

When we were in Memphis, we came out in black ladies rain coats that looked like leather and had these spandex gold tights and long boots and Jerry Lawler said “if you are supposed to be Nasty Boys you don’t look like you are from the streets”. So me and Sags went out and really became the first ones who decided to cover up their bodies. Our arms looked great but everything else didn’t look that great so we could cover everything else and if our arms got any smaller we would have just worn long sleeve sweatshirts. We started to cover up and added the splash with the Nasty Boys logo and actually the only thing I didn’t like was that he (Lawler) painted our face and that was the Road Warriors trademark so we got rid of that right before we left Memphis.

Todays wrestling scene:

I still love the wrestling business but the only thing I dislike is there are not too many places for the younger guys to go work. When we were growing up if you were good enough there were other places you could go work to become the very best at what you do and work on your craft. Today I think that is missing in the wrestling business but everything changes and you have to go with the flow.

Possibly being inducted into the 2016 WWE Hall of Fame:

That would be the final liner in the Nasty Boys legacy to get actually inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. That would put the ultimate stamp on our careers and we are getting older, me and Sags are both 52 and that would be the honor of all honors to get inducted. So I hope people are out their rooting for us because it would be our highest honor.

Brian Knobbs starts at the beginning of his career with his training in the AWA, working in the WCW against the Steiner Brother, winning the WWF Tag Titles from the Hart Foundation, promoting the Legends of Wrestling and his love for wrestling.

– Dario Cueto meets Chavo in the back, where it is revealed Cueto had hired Guerrero to take out Black Lotus. Chavo says his loyalty is where the money is, so Cueto hands him a bunch of it. Cueto is then talking to Jack Evans and Argenis, and says the winner of their match will get a medallion.

Argenis vs. Jack Evans

Evans lands a cheap shot early on, but gets powerbombed and hit in the gonads by Argenis, which the crowd loves. Evans hits a standing corkscrew moonsault that gets two and applies an armbar as the announcers put over his MMA training.

Argenis hits a big German suplex and a dive to the floor, an Evans answers with one of his own. Argenis hits a Michinoku Driver, but Evans backslides him for the pinfall. No medallion is handed out.

Winner: Jack Evans via pinfall

– Daivari lets Ryck know they have a trios title match. Ryck wants The Mack, but Cage beats him up so he can get a shot.

– Black Lotus knows some screwy stuff is going on and narrowly avoids a beat down by the Crew. Instead, Chavo jumps and gets cuffs.

Lucha Underground Trios Titles
Son Of Havoc, Angelico & Ivelisse vs. Big Ryck, Daivari & Cage

Angelico and Cage start out, as Cage heaves him around the ring and attacks him in the corner. Daivari pops in and hits a headscissors followed by a nice handspring elbow and a moonsault for a two count.

Angelico lands forearms to both big men, as Ivelisse gets frustrated and sits in the crowd. The heels control the match and Angelico is getting beaten down bad before he reverses a powerbomb for a two count. Daivari gets tagged back in and hits a nice backdrop. Texano pops up and interferes on behalf of the champions and Havoc gets a shooting star press for the win!

Winners: Son of Havoc, Ivelisse & Angelico via pinfall (Shooting Star Press) to retain the Lucha Underground Trios Championships

– We’re back to Dario Cueto’s office. The Crew and Chavo have Lotus tied up as he threatens to feed her to his brother or something.

Submission Match
Sexy Star vs. Pentagon Jr

Pentagon attacks Star with hard chops. I mean really, really hard. He’s beating the hell out of her. After an extended beating, Star knees Pentagon in the face, lands a huracanrana and scores a big flip dive to the floor.

Pentagon applies a La Mistica, but can’t get Star to submit, and the two end up trading big kicks. Pentagon throws on a leg lock that Star is able to get out of, but then nearly kills her with a superkick. Somehow Star comes back and hits a spinebuster and a half crab, but Pentagon won’t give up. Super Fly shows up and drills her with in the face, allowing Pentagon to score a package piledriver. Shortly after she submits to a surfboard chinlock. Pentagon is your winner.

Winner: Pentagon Jr.

Pentagon goes to break Sexy Star’s arm, but Vampiro stops it. We see Vampiro backstage before as he headbutts a mirror to end the show.

Ring Of Honor On Destination America TV Results 6/3/15

Credit: Sean Ross Sapp

Tonight’s show will be the company’s debut on Destination America and will feature matches from the joint shows with New Japan Pro Wrestling last month.

– We start out with a promo from the Briscoes trash talking the House of Truth. Tonight’s main event will be the Briscoe Brothers vs. The House of Truth.

KUSHIDA vs. Will Ferrara

KUSHIDA gets streamers during his entrance. The two avoid each other’s moves before KUSHIDA hits a dropkick and takes control, landing a few more. KUSHIDA gets knees on a standing moonsault attempt, and Ferrara grabs a chinlock. This doesn’t last long, as KUSHIDA battles back with big strikes before getting a big clothesline. Ferrara then hits a crash an burn tornado DDT to the outside.

KUSHIDA starts working the arm before the two trade punches. KUSHIDA winds up with a baseball-type delivery and clocks Ferrara before getting a two off of a moonsault. Ferrara gets a couple of two counts off of quick pin attempts, but KUSHIDA applies the Hoverboard Lock (double wristlock) and gets the submission.

Winner: KUSHIDA via submission (Hoverboard Lock)

– Christopher Daniels and Kazarian come out to the announce booth. Addiction say that next week and only next week, ReDRagon will get a tag team title shot.

Silas Young vs. Watanabe

Silas Young and Watanabe trade strikes early until Watanabe hits a belly-to-back suplex. Watanabe puts Young on the top rope, but gets knocked to the mat and Young clotheslines him. Young taunts before pinning him, but it’s only good for two. Watanabe comes back with a neckbreaker, and the crowd is really in to him.

The two battle outside the ring as Young fights off a German suplex briefly before getting turned inside out with one on the floor. Back in the ring the two trade backslides until Young punts him in the head and hits a TKO for the victory.

Winner: Silas Young via pinfall (TKO)

– We get a look back at the issues between BJ Whitmer and Moose.

BJ Whitmer (w/ Adam Page & Colby Corino) vs. Moose (w/ Stokely Hathaway & Veda Scott)

Well, Moose is over to a polarizing level as half the crowd is changing “Moose,” while the other half chants “sucks.” Either way, he gets the streamer treatment. It’s a shock the WWE didn’t offer him a full-on deal (that we know of. Whitmer gets on the mic and says he could easily beat Moose and end his winning streak, but he isn’t going to do that. He sees this as an opportunity to step out of his shadows for a member of Decade….then points at Colby Corino. He says Colby can prove he’s more of a man than his father. Steve is begging from ringside for this not to happen.

Moose (w/ Stokely Hathaway & Veda Scott) vs. Colby Corino (w/ BJ Whitmer & Adam Page)

Colby slaps Moose, then throws strikes, but Moose laughs it off and tosses Colby out of the ring. Colby is sent head first into the guard rail before Moose picks him up and swings him. Steve Corino doesn’t seem too worried on commentary that his 18 year old son could die here.

Moose hits a couple of apron powerbombs on Colby, before landing another on the floor. Colby looks like he’s crying on the floor, and Steve still doesn’t take his announcer voice off to show concern. Colby is rolled into the ring and pinned.

Winner: Moose via pinfall

– We see clips of ACH and Adam Page’s feud.

– Jay Lethal pulls the ol’ dip and has J. Diesel replace him in the match tonight.

Briscoes vs. House of Truth (w/ Truth Martini)

Diesel starts peppering both Briscoe brother with punches, as the brothers really put over his boxing ability. That ends up not lasting long, as the Briscoes isolate and attack Diesel. A Russian leg sweep from Mark gets two before Diesel tags out to Dijak.

Dijak comes in and hits a suplex that sends Briscoe all the way across the ring. The Briscoes are putting these guys over huge just by selling and facial reactions. The House Of Truth works over Jay in their corner while tagging in and out. Mark Briscoe gets the hot tag and runs wild, taking out both members of the House. He goes up top, but Martini distracts the ref, allowing the House of Truth to capitalize as we go to our last break.

We come back to see Diesel hitting a powerslam and fallaway slam on Mark before tagging in Dijak. Mark reverses several moves and gets to the corner to tag Jay, who dominated the heels. Jay Lethal tries to distract Briscoe, but it doesn’t work, as the Briscoes hit the Doomsday Device for the win.

Winners: Briscoes via pinfall (Doomsday Device)

As they’re celebrating, Dijak hits Feast Your Eyes on Mark, which Jay Briscoe follows by diving on to him. Lethal enters the fray and eats a Jay Driller to close the show.

Steve Austin On Roman Reigns Needing To Turn Heel, Vince’s Goal, More

0

Diplomacy be damned: Outspoken Hall of Famer Steve Austin has never been shy to express his opinions about the state of the WWE product – and the retired wrestler shared his views on current performer Roman Reigns and the star’s current career struggles on his most recent podcast. Talking to guest Sam Roberts about Reigns’ well-documented inability to fully connect with wrestling audiences right now, Austin criticized some of the cosmetic decisions WWE had made with the former Shield star.

“He’s a good-looking guy, successful guy and a football guy… so no one’s going to question how tough this guy is,” Austin said. “So he’s a good-looking guy, but all of a sudden, you gotta throw these contacts on him and he’s got blue eyes now? What’s the deal with that? You don’t need blue eyes. He’s got brown eyes!”

Austin also gave his opinion about how to turn Reigns’ fortunes around.

“I stand by the fact that no matter what they do with him, he’s going to have to be heel first….and they’re trying to keep him babyface,” Austin stated. “I think Vince McMahon’s goal is ‘He’s going to work as a babyface…or he ain’t going to work at all.’ And he’s going to flop bigger as a babyface, especially when they put him in there with other babyfaces. Like last week with Randy Orton—Orton blew him out of the water.”

Austin insisted to Roberts the former Shield star could be huge, if booked correctly.

“I see money in Roman—if he stays the course and continues to develop and continues to get better. But he’s going to be hated before he’s universally loved and embraced by the audience.”

Josh Matthews is announcing with The Pope. We get a video about Ethan Carter’s wining streak. The show then opens with Carter and some presidential-themed festivities. Amusingly, Carter has his own group of Barbershop quartet-style singers who sing his theme song off-key. ECIII gets on the mic and says he’s “Number One.” He says “Mission Accomplished” and emphasizes he’s the new top contender. Carter teases Tyrus about dancing, a nod to his WWE gimmick, and this is met with a rather nasty look. Carter says his main goal now is to win the TNA World Title. Kurt Angle comes out.

Kurt mocks Carter and says he’s a joke. He reminds Carter that Destination X is next week and Spud can cash in his title shot and get Kurt first. Carter says he’ll make Spud an offer he can’t refuse. Carter asks his choir to sing goodbye to Kurt…and he proceeds to attack one of them and hits the Angle slam. Oh, Kurt. I think he’s just jealous he doesn’t have his own personal barbershop quartet. The announcers tease Bobby Lashley vs. Eric Young next and we go to commercial.

Bobby Lashley vs. Eric Young

We’re back. Lashley dominates Young right away and sends him out of the ring. Eric tries weakly to fight back but Lashley hits him with a delayed vertical suplex. Back in the ring, Young hits him with some kicks to the gut to get the advantage back. Young hits a snapmare and continues to work on Lashley’s neck. Young goes up top but Lashley’s too fast for him and gets a belly-to-belly suplex. Lashley gets a two count with the spinebuster. Young escapes the dominator before fighting back with some forearm shots. Chris Melendez then comes down to the ring and distracts Young, allowing Lashley to hit the Spear for the one-two-three. It is made clear Melendez is looking for revenge for Young’s actions two weeks ago.

Winner: Bobby Lashley

We get a backstage segment with Spud and his X Division belt. Spud says he’s been working for this belt for 14 years and now he can trade it all in for a shot at Angle’s World title. Spud is unsure what to do.

The Dollhouse are backstage. The song Doll Parts is playing in the background. They laugh about what they did to Gail Kim last week on Impact. Taryn Terrell teases something major for Destination X next week.

Chris Melendez cuts a promo on Eric Young. He says Young has something in him he hasn’t felt since the war. He says Young has taken him to the danger zone. He challenges Young to a match.

Austin Aries sits down to talk with Spud about his decision. He says Spud needs to seriously think about it. He doesn’t seem to think Spud is ready. We get a KO highlight video. Jade vs. Brooke is next.

Jade vs. Brooke

Brooke tries to roll up Jade early for a two count. She hits a jack knife for another two. Jade fights back with a drop kick. Marti tries to interfere on the floor. She sends Brooke back into the ring. Jade covers her for a two. Brooke tries to fight back as Jade dominates and chokes her in the corner. Then Jade accidentally kicks Marti and misses a springboard moonsault. Brooke comes back and goes for the X Factor and gets the one-two-free.

Winner: Brooke

Jeremy Borash notes to the audience that “from time to time he’s assigned duties he’s uncomfortable with.” He turns to ECIII. Carter thanks him and says that while Spud has talent, he is not yet ready to be the man who carries the company on his shoulders.

We see Marti and Jade attack Rebel as retaliation for Rebel’s friend Brooke’s victory over Jade earlier. This is a pretty nasty attack. Brooke was busy in the shower, we’re told. The BDC and The Rising come down to the ring.

The BDC vs. The Rising.

Eli and MVP start out. Eli hits a great-looking flying elbow. A Kenny King distracts helps MVP gain the advantage and hits Eli with a kick to the face. Kenny tags in and hits a suplex for the two count. The BDC all work over Eli for a few moments. Ki and Eli face off for a while then Eli is finally able to make the tag to Drew. Drew hits Ki with a vicious kick and goes for the three count but King runs in and breaks it up. Mica then takes out King with a dive on the floor while Ki and Drew continue to fight in the ring. MVP goes after Galloway then Eli goes after him. Mica and Drew then hit a doomsday device for the win. This was the second doomsday device of the night if you were watching ROH.

Winner: The Rising

We see Carter and Tyrus backstage saying they are going to talk to Spud about his decision. A recap video of the Mickie James/Magnus/James Storm storyline airs. We see Mickie in Nashville.

Spud comes to the ring while they show a video of him winning the X Division belt back last week. Borash asks if he’ll give it up for a world title shot. Kurt Angle then comes out. Angle says he respects Spud but tells Spud to realize what he is up against. Spud looks very conflicted. The ECIII crashes the segment just as Spud is trying to decide. ECIII says he just got off the phne with “Aunt D” and says Spud will have a lifetime contract as Chief of Staff if he doesn’t cash in his title. Spud then says he remembers how he was beaten and humiliated last time. He says Carter has never had to work hard for anything his whole life, while he’s had to work for 14 years to make it in the business. He then tells Carter to take his job offer and “stick it up his a**!” because “I’m cashing in!” Carter attacks Spud. Kurt gets involved and demands a tag match tonight: Kurt and Spud vs. Tyrus and Carter.

The Dirty Heels talk backstage about how they desperately need a win tonight. Aries hands Roode his t-shirt.

We see Storm and Mickie talking. Storm asks her and her son to join The Revolution. She says no but tries to be as nice as possible about it. The two share a hug.

The Wolves vs. The Dirty Heels

Davey and Aries start out, Davey is hit with the Last Chancery but manages to get to the ropes. Roode tags in and goes after with with some kicks. Wolves hit Roode with the double stomp, with Davey going after Roode’s arm with a vengeance. The Wolves go for a drop toehold and kneedrop but only get the two. Aries tags in but gets backdropped almost immediately. Thanks to some team work by the heels and Roode saving Aries from a double dive, they gain the advantage as we head to commercial.

We come back and the heels are in control. Roode is hitting a Gordbuster on Davey. Davey tries to fight back with the double stomp but Roode brutalizes him in the corner and hits him with punches and chops. Davey manages to tag into Edwards, who runs in, dropkicks Austin and attacks Roode with a shining wizard and hits an inverted flying arrow to Aries. Roode and Aries fight back and go for a double suplex on Eddie but Davey breaks it up. The wolves got a Stereo Double Suicida on the floor. The crowd goes crazy and we get a very loud TNA chant.

Back in the ring, Roode gets hit with kicks and a German suplex for a two. Roode fights back and manages to dominate Eddie with Aries’ help, but he still can’t get the three count. Roode hits Spinebuster for a near fall. Aries hits Davey with a dive. Aries then gets a chair and slides it in but Roode is apparently reluctant to use it. The ref tries to get Austin out of the way. Suddenly, Roode drops the nice guy act and hits a low blow and chair shot on Edwards while Aries is distracting the referee. The dirty heels are back in the game!

Winner: The Dirty Heels.

We see security camera footage of Storm and Mickie at the train station in Nashville. Suddenly, he throws her off the platform and onto the train tracks! Storm says to Magnus that Mickie won’t be home for dinner and casually whistles as he walks away. Wait, did this guy just attempt to murder this woman? Someone call the police! We have camera footage! A crime has occurred!

Madison Reigns is in the ring. She complains about her career and says that if you’re not Gail Kim or a member of The Dollhouse, you aren’t getting anywhere. That’s hard to argue with. She then calls out Velvet Sky because she resents the attention she has been getting. Velvet comes out and Madison slaps her. Sky responds by spearing her and hitting a stunner before Angelina appears. Angelina says Madison is “a very good friend of mine.” Angelina sends her security guys to the ring, but Velvet attacks them. They eventually manage to handcuff her. Love then enters the ring and trashes and hits her before the security people drag her off. Oh, then another team of security guys come down and arrest Angelina for attacking a fan. What a crazy segment this was.

We come back from commercial and Taryn hypes up her title match with Kong. She wants to reveal a whole new side of the Knockouts division.

Kurt Angle and Spud vs. ECIII and Tyrus

Spud and Carter start out, with Spud going crazy and hitting Carter with loads of chops. Carter tries to back into the corner to avoid the barrage of shots. Spud hits a few elbow shots ad a dropkick before Tyrus attacks him. Tyrus tags in and hits the chokeslam on Spud. Tyrus and ECIII double team Spud for a while, with Tyrus even standing on his back and Carter stomping him in the corner. Angle tries to get the crowd to rally behind Spud. Spud eventually manages to fight through the pain and make the tag to Angle. Carter tags in Angle at the same moment. Angle runs wild on Carter and Tyrus. Angle is caught by Tyrus after he goes up top but Spud saves him with a missle dropkick. Angle hits the Angle slam on Tyrus and Spud goes in for the three count.

Winners: Spud and Kurt Angle.

Spud and Kurt Angle exchanges heavy stares. The Aries comes down to the ring. Aries tells Spud he admires his heart and courage but questions his decision making. Aries notes that while Spud intends to cash in, Aries still has his Feast for Fired briefcase. Aries says at Destination X he will cash in and face whoever wins the Angle/Spud bout. Everyone looks stunned as the show goes off the air.

The general reaction to the news of ROH TV debuting on Destination America:

Honestly, I was very surprised. This was all a shock to the entire roster, but a good shock. I feel like one of the things especially since I’ve come back to Ring of Honor that I hoped would happen is more of a concerted effort to broaden the horizons of Ring of Honor. Being a part of a syndicated show is one thing but as far as syndication goes not every place is going to have it available or have access to that show and now being on Destination America it certainly opens a lot of doors to a new and wider fan base. So it is a great step forward for Ring of Honor and a win-win situation for us as a company and as a brand.

Being the lead in programming to Impact Wrestling:

To me, it seems like Destination America is building a night of action, like almost a set block of time for professional wrestling. Truthfully speaking the best two options in the United States that aren’t WWE are Ring of Honor and TNA so you are certainly covering a broad spectrum of talent and I think it is great for both companies. It depends on what happens in the next couple of months to see how this benefits Ring of Honor and benefits TNA.

The difference in the locker room of ROH from when he left to his return:

The only difference with the locker room is the people that are in it. There has always been a sense of togetherness and family in that locker room because we have always been striving to make Ring of Honor a better product and that is very similar now to when I left. That feeling of everyone being on the same page and building towards something. It was weird because when I left in 2011 they had just been purchased by Sinclair and were just starting to get their television show off the ground and then I come back in 2014 and the first show that I get a chance to do is the first live broadcasted pay per view that Ring of Honor ever did. So to me I didn’t have anything to do with the build of the company from that period they started on Sinclair to now, that was the work of all the guys in that locker room. Guys like Adam Cole and Michael Elgin and Jay Briscoe and Roderick Strong that was something that that locker room sort of did on their own and built themselves up. I feel very fortunate that they gave me an opportunity to return to the company and to bring Frankie (Kazarian) with me. Frankie didn’t really have that history with the company that I did and at the same time me having history with that company didn’t necessarily warrant me having a spot in the locker room and I understood that and I knew that coming into the locker room I was going to have to do something to prove that I still belong and I could still hang with these guys and be a productive part of the roster. I feel like me and Frankie have done that in the last year and have shown that we are capable of going out there with younger teams like reDRagon, The Young Bucks, The Briscoe Brothers and Matt Sydal and ACH and have quality and productive matches and we’ve taken that opportunity and have run with it since the first day we got there.

Teaming with Frankie Kazarian & being the ROH tag team champions:

When we were in TNA as Bad Influence, we wanted to be the kind of tag team that Beer Money was or the Motor City Machine Guns were. That team that sort of made themselves a team and made that the priority. I feel like TNA didn’t really put as much effort into us as we did into ourselves and even though that was disappointing that was just the way it went. Now in Ring of Honor there are so many great tag teams and so many teams that are focused on being a great tag team and there is so much talent there that being the champions, to me it means a lot and I am looking forward to getting an opportunity to wrestle against all of these guys as champions and make the story of the tag team titles as important as the heavyweight title and the television title in the fan bases eyes.

The Clair Lynch Saga:

Things that were pitched to the company and what the company ended up doing with it had some little differences that could have made the story tighter and make a little bit more sense. In the end the two major things that we wanted to get out of that storyline was me and Frankie as an established tag team and as the petty jealous guys that would do anything to get to the top and re-establish AJ Styles as the top baby face. I feel like all the stuff we put him through when he came out of that and came back stronger as a baby face, when he came back he was in the world title picture and I think a lot of that had to do with us putting him through the ringer.

Daniels also discusses his entire run in the first years of Ring of Honor, the early days of TNAs X Division and the vision he saw for it, signing with WCW in 2000, his feeling on working with Vince Russo,CM Punk and his future in the wrestling business.
