Vince McMahon Reportedly Not Happy With Steve Austin And Paul Heyman’s Podcast

We noted before that on Steve Austin’s latest podcast he downplayed the speculation on a possible WrestleMania 32 match with Brock Lesnar and said he was not trying to set up a match with the Paul Heyman exchange on their recent WWE Network podcast.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter notes this week that the match will not be happening. Apparently reasons the match is not happening have to do with issues between Austin and Vince McMahon but The Observer wouldn’t speculate on what those issues are. Vince was reportedly not happy with how the podcast ended because Austin vs. Lesnar is not in their current WrestleMania 32 plans.

Vince did not know Heyman and Austin were going to do the bit they did and immediately felt they were creating major interest in a match that was not happening. There was reportedly some sort of discussion between Austin and Vince after the podcast where Vince wanted the story to go away quickly and quietly with Austin addressing it once and then moving on.

WWE Considering Big Change For The Slammy Awards, Plans For More WWE Network Specials

WWE officials have talked about making the annual Slammy Awards a standalone event instead of having it as an episode of RAW. The idea is that the awards would air on the WWE Network in December, similar to how the Hall of Fame was. They would book a smaller theater-type venue instead of a major arena.

On a related note, right now WWE is planning on holding quarterly live specials on the WWE Network in 2016, specials like Elimination Chamber and the July 4th show from Tokyo.

What led to spending the last few years living in Japan:

Initially I went to Japan with Antonio Inoki and ended up wrestling Masahiro Chono. It’s really the opposite end of the world there and I don’t think a lot of people really understood what was happening over there. I am Chyna in the Sports Entertainment world but then to go over into Japan and you just have a female wrestle Masahiro Chono, that was absolutely incredible. All the training I did with Inoki and mixed marital artists and some incredible guys. I just really loved Japan and it was so life changing that when I felt it was time to remove myself from all the chaos that was going on here and go away to the opposite side of the world. Its a different culture, different language, just go and regroup and find myself a little more. Now the time is right to get back in the game and get some answers.

What the fans mean to Chynas career:

The fan base of professional wrestling gave me some of my happiest and the greatest days of my life. That is the base of the story. But there is definitely an arc 15 years later to where I am now and you can see the journey and it is all about being happy and finding happiness in making your mark.

The Kickstarter campaign for The Reconstruction of Chyna:

We wanted to do it on Kickstarter because it’s all about the fans. I am basically doing the movie with the fans and I want them to be a part of it and be a part of the movie. They are a part of my life story up to this point. That is the best way to do this and that is together. The fans can tell me more about my matches and the history that I didn’t know when it was actually happening and that is very cool.

The biggest misconceptions of Chyna:

I know about the truth and want to tell the story. There have been a lot of obstacles and a lot of great things that have been accomplished. I want that to be remembered because those are the important things and also just being happy and coming out the other side a happy accomplished person. I think that it is a story for athletes and for women and I think it is a good story. A story that needs to be told.

WWE announced yesterday the names of the 40 entrants who have made the early cast of the newest edition of Tough Enough. Now WrestlingInc has learned some exclusive news about the scheduling that the group is experiencing.

As of right now, many of the talents are arriving in Orlando, with several still en route. They’ll start training tomorrow after some brief instruction, and the roster will be slowly trimmed from a fairly early point. WWE cameras will be following several, but not all of the contestants for the special that will air on the WWE Network.

There are a couple of familiar faces among the cast if you’ve followed wrestling religiously. Zack Ryder’s friend “Big O” Adam Ohriner made the cast. He was seen on Ryder’s web show Z! True Long Island Story. Ohriner participated in a WWE tryout in 2013, but wasn’t offered a deal and continued wrestling independently.

Former WWE and TNA developmental territory Ohio Valley Wrestling played home to contestant Mike Hayes for several years. Hayes has had a successful independent wrestling career, winning the OVW Television Champion. Hayes is also a war hero, losing his leg while battling overseas in the military.

Khalil Bell is a 28 year old former NFL running back, who was a standout at UCLA. Bell played in the NFL from 2009-2013, earning stints on the New York Jets, Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers.

Other competitors with independent wrestling experience include Patrick Clark, Kevin Penczek, Chelsea Green and Don Arner, better known as Cassidy Stone. A couple of the cast members, Tanner Saraceno (3-1) and Daria Berenato (2-1) also have amateur MMA experience.

– As noted earlier, CM Punk appeared in this video and blasted Hulk Hogan for his recent comments regarding the Tampa Bay Lightning taking on Punk’s Chicago Blackhawks in the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs.

“Normally the less said about Hulk Hogan the better, but he spoke my name first,” Punk exclaimed. “The Tampa Bay organization should be embarrassed for hitching their trailer to such a piece of garbage that pronounced the captain’s name wrong, and then called coach John Cooper, John Connor! Ladies and gentlemen, we’re in Chicago and we’re real hockey fans and we want the cup! Tampa Bay’s going down!”

Punk then took to Twitter and wrote, “You mispronounced the team captains name and didn’t even know the coaches name. You’re a hack.Shut the f-ck up or I’ll wreck you @HulkHogan”
