Wrestling Legend Bobby Eaton Suffers Heart Attack, Statement Inside

0

Wrestling legend “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton was hospitalized after an event in Omaha on Saturday. Eaton was was rushed to the hospital by an ambulance after he started having “seizure-like jolts.” It’s now believed that Eaton had a heart attack. Eaton’s pacemaker and defibrillator helped prevent him from going into full cardiac arrest. Below is a statement from Brian Thompson, who was with Eaton:

Official Statement on Bobby Eaton:

Obviously the last 24 hours have been a little chaotic. I wanted to release this statement on behalf of Bobby in regard to his current condition.

Yesterday, Bobby and I were booked for Pro Wrestling Phoenix (PWP). The promotion ran its regular monthly show at the Council Bluffs, Iowa National Guard Armory. This is just minutes from Omaha, Nebraska.

We arrived to the venue around 2:15 p.m. for a scheduled 3 p.m. training seminar with some of the PWP crew and aspiring future wrestlers who are still in their training phases. A very respectable group of individuals attended and had a 2-hour time frame to learn a few things from Bobby.

On our 6-hour trip there, Bobby had felt fatigued and most signs indicated that his sugar was low. He has had some battles with diabetes over the last decade.

After getting to the venue and checking his symptoms, I went to a local convenience store and got some candies that help get sugar rates back up as they bottom out. About 30 to 45 minutes later, he seemed to be slightly better.

Around 6:30 p.m., we went to the gimmick table to sell pictures and other merchandise as the doors opened. Bobby seemed to be getting a little worse and started to shake and sweat more. He then started having seizure-like jolts. After a second one, we decided he needed to get to the hospital. One of the guys who was participating in the seminar and several of the PWP staff jumped right into action, getting a local ambulance service en route within minutes. Thankfully, the venue we were at was only two miles from area hospitals.

Bobby’s heart rate and sugar levels were both elevated. Doctors believe he did have a heart attack. His defibulator and pacemaker were key in keeping him from going into full cardiac arrest we do believe.

He is currently still in the hospital as the staff wants to make sure as is well.

As the true pro he is, Bobby feels bad for the fans who didn’t get to interact with him as planned at the PWP event and for the entire PWP crew.

We want to certainly thank PWP for the hospitality and promoter Chris Metry was a true class act. If you live in that area, give PWP a chance. They had a lot of great young talent bundled with area veterans.

I will do my best to keep everyone up to speed on Bobby’s condition throughout the week. Thoughts and prayers are indeed appreciated at this time.

News On WWE’s Night Of Champions Script, Reigns Replacement for Rollins Match

0

Source: F4WOnline

It’s interesting to note that before Roman Reigns had to have emergency surgery today, WWE had two scripts for Night of Champions and one of them had Reigns not wrestling.

Reigns’ condition is legitimate and was said to be a serious deal. WWE’s writers have been working on re-writing three days worth of TV before Sunday afternoon. We noted earlier that one of WWE’s back-up plans reportedly fell through and that may have been their main plan for Reigns’ replacement. That plan falling through could be why they didn’t interrupt WWE Network coverage today with an update on Reigns. An impression given was that they were going to announce the back-up plan on the Network.

This has not been confirmed by WWE or any WWE sources but the obvious speculation is that Dean Ambrose, who wrapped WWE Studios’ Lockdown this weekend, will likely do something with Seth Rollins tomorrow instead.

Update On How Long Roman Reigns Will Be Out Of Action

Source: WWE.com

As noted earlier today, Roman Reigns was rushed to a Nashville, Tennessee hospital where he underwent emergency surgery for an abdominal hernia, also referred to as an incarcerated hernia. Reigns will miss tomorrow’s Night of Champions show in which he was slated to go up against his former Shield partner Seth Rollins.

This afternoon, WWE.com posted an extensive update on Roman’s condition, surgery, and prognosis. WWE physician Chris Amann stated that the wrestler’s condition was not related to any recent in-ring activity. “Roman has had a pre-existing hernia for some time, which unfortunately had become acutely painful, which led to him going to the emergency room in Nashville,” Amann stated. “He was found to have a large hernia that was unable to be reduced, which means pushed back into the abdominal cavity. As a result, it was necessary to perform an emergency operation to open up the hernia sac and try and push it back into the abdominal cavity.”

Amann added that the hernia suffered by Reigns is different from a sports hernia. He said that Roman’s injury is actually an inguinal hernia which “can sometimes come from sports” but might also be present at birth.

It’s worth noting that the Mayo Clinic’s online definition of an inguinal hernia describes it as “a condition that isn’t necessarily painful by itself,” adding that the hernia “doesn’t get better or go away on its own, however, and it can lead to life-threatening complications.” Mayo Clinic staff also note that inguinal hernia repair is a common surgical procedure.

Reigns has been transferred to a recovery area and is “doing quite well.” Doctors will continue to monitor his progress with a particular focus on preventing infection and insuring that his intestinal functions return to normal. He may be discharged from the hospital as early as tomorrow.

According to Dr. Amann, a typical recovery time for a condition like this is approximately four to six weeks, noting that because this particular hernia was significant, Reigns will likely be out of commission for “closer to six weeks.”

Reigns had been in Nashville to promote tomorrow’s Night of Champions event. His recovery time will be evaluated by the local surgeon and WWE physician Dr. Chris Amann following today’s operation.

Then…

WWE sent us the following, announcing that Roman Reigns will be unable to compete at tomorrow’s WWE Night Of Champions pay-per-view:
