Wrestling legend Billy Robinson has reportedly died at the age of 74.<\/p>\n
Robinson’s death was reported by the co-author of his autobiography, Jake Shannon, according to a report by Slam Wrestling.<\/p>\n
Shannon wrote on Facebook: “I hadn’t heard from him in days so I contacted his apartment complex to check in on him. When I called back for a progress report the apartment manager put the police on the phone, it seems he passed peacefully in his sleep.”<\/p>\n
Robinson made his name in his home country of England before coming to the U.S. and Canada in the 1970s.<\/p>\n
Robinson wrestled for the AWA in the U.S., which led to him starring in the 1974 wrestling movie, “The Wrestler,” along with Verne Gagne.<\/p>\n
“Saddened to hear of the passing of U.K.’s legendary Billy Robinson,” said Jim Ross on Twitter. “Met him w\/ Danny Hodge. Billy’s hotel room skirmish w\/ Jack Brisco classic.”<\/p>\n
