As noted earlier this week, there was a lot of back and forth on the Cody Rhodes & Goldust vs. New Age Outlaws tag team title match scheduled for the Royal Rumble Kickoff show on Sunday.<\/p>\n
Originally, WWE wanted to do the tag title match on Smackdown last week, but instead decided to run the non-title match to give the Outlaws a win so they could book the title match on the pay-per-view. It appears there are plans to\u00a0put the titles on the Outlaws as part of the Authority angle heading into WrestleMania.<\/p>\n
Goldust is now tweeting that he’ll be “unveiling something special” during the Royal Rumble kickoff show on Sunday. Goldust had already mentioned in an interview he wanted to eliminate Cody Rhodes from the Royal Rumble match this year as a piece of revenge for when Cody eliminated him in the 2013 match.<\/p>\n
It now sounds\u00a0like Goldust may turn on Cody in the Kickoff show\u00a0to begin\u00a0the set up of\u00a0a Goldust vs. Cody Rhodes feud leading into the Elimination Chamber or WrestleMania 30 pay-per-view. The Rhodes Brothers have been lobbying for a feud and WrestleMania match for the past several years.
