– UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones has been punished for his cocaine use, which was a violation of the UFC’s code of conduct policy.<\/p>\n
Jones has been fined $25,000 for the out-of-competition offense. In comparison, the Nevada State Athletic Commission fined Melvin Guillard $2,100 for an in-competition failure for cocaine in 2007, in addition to an eight month suspension.<\/p>\n
– Strikeforce President Scott Coker said that the company has had conversations with PRIDE FC\/UFC legend Mirko “CroCop” Filipovic.<\/p>\n
“We had several conversations, but I’m not sure to what extent he’s ready to come to America and fight,” Coker said. “But we’ve had some conversations.”<\/p>\n
The 40-year old CroCop won the K-1 World Grand Prix in controversial fashion in 2013. Last year, CroCop won the Inoki Genome Federation championship, a title in which can be defended in both pro wrestling and MMA contests.<\/p>\n
