World Championship Wrestling presents Saturday Night
Date: 4/1/1995
From: Atlanta, GA

1.)WCW World Tag Team Champions Harlem Heat defeated Tim Horner & Brad Armstrong
2.)Sgt. Craig Pittman defeated Eddie Jackie
3.)The Nasty Boys defeated Stan Lee & Bill Quinn
4.)Paul Orndorff defeated Mark Starr
5.)Bunkhouse Buck & Dick Slater defeated Billy Houston & Bobby Knight
6.)Kevin Sullivan & The Butcher defeated Steve Hall & Steve Storm
7.)Big Bubba defeated Mike Davis
8.)Johnny B. Badd & Alex Wright defeated WCW Television Champion Arn Anderson & Steve Austin
Angle Developments/Notes:
1.Bobby Heenan doesn’t think that Hogan really wants Flair back in the ring. Tony says that Flair has purchased a segment on this weeks program so he will be here tonight.
2.You may be surprised but Horner and Armstrong weren’t just a regular jobber team. They actually gave the tag team champions a run for their money, but let’s face it, they never had a shot in this one. Horner had a sleeper hold on Ray but Booker got involved and hit Horner with a scissors kick to pick up the win. It was a fun little way to open the show, actually. After the match, Tony Schiavone interviewed Harlem Heat after the match. They told the Nasty Boys that they weren’t going to get their titles but they would be wrestling tomorrow night on the Main Event. Booker T has the weirdest catchphrases in the history of professional wrestling. There was something about a chicken wing on a string or something.
3.Nick Bockwinkel recently had a meeting with the other members of the board regarding Ric Flair in WCW. Gary Juster votes no (that bastard), and some chick from Spain does the same. These people no nothing! The guy from Germany wants him back in WCW. Sonny Ono from Japan votes to have him come back to WCW. A woman from France decides against deciding right now. They are going to drag this out because they have several more weeks before the next pay per view in May.
4.Sgt. Craig Pittman had a squash match this week. He won by submission with the arm breaker. After the match, Pittman wants anyone to come at him because he is the best. He wants Mean Gene to give him ten pushups!
5.The Nasty Boys won yet another squash match after Saggs hit a top rope elbow drop. After the match, they talked to Tony Schiavone. They say Harlem Heat is going down tomorrow night.
6.Orndorff attacked Starr before the bell because the jobber was holding a shirt that said Paula. He would get the last laugh by hitting the pile driver for the win.
7.Studd Stable members Dick Slater and Bunkhouse Buck competed in a tag team squash match. Buck got the win over Knight following a right hand punch.
8.A public service announcement is aired with it saying Ric Flair wants WCW to be fair to him. We hear from Flair who think that women understand what he is all about. Hogan wants him, Savage, Sting and even Bockwinkel want him! We see a bunch of wrestling clips featuring him as well, obviously. He made a list of ten reasons why WCW should be fair to him. This is kind of funny… 10.) the figure four is a house hold name… 9.) Without him people will think that Alex Wright can dance… 8.) I’m living up to my end of the bargain, I haven’t wrestled since October!… 7.) Because I just might by the company and fire everyone!.. 6.) I’m still on everyone’s mind!… 5.) Women are going crazy, just look at Savage and what happened to him!.. 4.) If I’m not at WCW, what are they going to do? Close Space Mountain?.. 3.) The whole world is going through Flair Withdrawal!… 2.) I’m a kiss stealing, wheeling dealing, limousine riding, jet flying son of a gun!.. 1.) The number one reason is just WOOOO! How can you argue with any of that?
9.The Butcher forced Steve Hall to pass out with the sleeper hold to give himself and Sullivan an easy victory this week. After the match, Tony Schiavone has a conversation with them. Tony brings up the problems with them. Avalanche comes over and says that Butcher has been messing up quite a bit lately. Sullivan wants to know what Avalanche wants to do. Sullivan has compassion and says that Butcher has made only a few mistakes. He thinks there might be a little Hulkamania left in his mind. They are going to teach Butcher compassion.
10.Footage of Lord Steven Regal trying to chance Bobby Eaton some more is shown. They are shopping for new clothing. Eaton picks out some ridiculous suits at first. Eaton finds a suit and has his hair slicked back big time. Eaton is getting his nails done and getting a massage. Regal is teaching Eaton how to pronounce words!
11.Big Bubba competed in singles action. He took care of Davis following a side slam. After the match, Tony Schiavone talks to Bubba. Bubba wants Tony to announce who beat Sting at Uncensored. Tony does just that. Bubba brags about winning at Uncensored. Bubba calls out the major babyfaces losers.
12.The main event this week is another tag team match! At least it features four of the better workers in WCW. Badd and Austin opened up the match with Badd getting the early advantaging working on Austin’s leg for a moment. Wright tags in and keeps control by taking Austin down to continue to work on his left leg. Austin is knocked to the floor after several upper cuts. Wright works on Anderson’s arm with a wrist lock before tagging out to Badd. Anderson tosses Badd to the floor but misses a left hand and hits the ring post instead. Badd hits a double ax handle off the top rope back in the ring. Badd and Wright hit Anderson with a few punches before Badd gets a near fall after a scoop slam. Wright tags in but is backed into the heel corner only to fight out with punches. Austin knocks Wright off the top rope with a right hand, though. Anderson tags in Austin to keep control of the bout. Austin hits a snap suplex. Wright continues to be worked on by the heels. Badd eventually gets the hot tag and cleans house with a back drop and knee lift. He also hit a middle rope double ax handle. All four men are going at it until Austin and Badd are in the ring. Anderson sends Wright into the ring post. Wright knocks Anderson to the floor off the top and hits a cross body off the top onto Austin. Col. Robert Parker enters to cause the disqualification. After the match, Wright is beaten down until Sting runs out to make the save. That was a good television main event.
Final Thoughts:
I thought it was a fine episode. Yeah, there were a lot of tag team matches, but that’s fine. The Flair segment was pretty comical and the main event was a really good match. Hopefully WCW can continue to put on good television since their next major pay per view is in late May. That means these angles are going to drag on for a long time. But, as of right now they are putting on some fun television.

WCW Saturday Night 4/8/1995
World Championship Wrestling presents Saturday Night
Date: 4/8/1995
From: Atlanta, GA
Matches:
1.)Big Bubba defeated Tim Horner by disqualification
2.)Meng defeated Joey Maggs
3.)Marcus Alexander Bagwell & The Patriot defeated George South & Jimmie Rogers
4.)Brian Pillman defeated Lt. James Earl Wright
5.)The Nasty Boys defeated Steve Storm & Chris Nelson
6.)Jim Duggan defeated Sonny Trout
7.)Vader defeated Ian Weston
8.)Lord Steven Regal & Earl Robert Eaton defeated Red Tyler & Melvin Hagler
9.)Sting defeated Steve Austin
Angle Developments/Notes:
1.The program started off with Big Bubba squaring off against Tim Horner. Bubba is choking Horner when Brad Armstrong comes out and dropkicks Bubba to the floor. Bubba wins the match by disqualification. That lasted maybe a minute. After the match, Tony Schiavone decides to interview Brad Armstrong. Armstrong considers Horner to be a brother and mentions he was born in Georgia as well. He challenges Bubba to a match tomorrow night on the Main Event.
2.We go to Nick Bockwinkel for an update on Ric Flair in WCW. Next week, the answer to that question will be answered once and for all.
3.It’s time for a twenty second squash match with Meng. He hit a standing savant kick to earn the win over Joey Maggs. After the match, Col. Robert Parker cuts a promo talking about Elvis giving him a diamond ring. That comes to secondary to Meng, though. He believes that guys like Savage, Sting and Hogan are afraid of Meng. He believes that Meng will be the next WCW World Heavyweight Champion.
4.Stars and Stripes competed in tag action. They won the bout following a vertical suplex/cross body off the top rope combo.
5.Brian Pillman continued his winning ways after hitting a top rope big splash. He will be competing in the WCW United States Championship tournament.
6.Footage from the Main Event last week is shown. The Nasty Boys competed in a match against WCW World Tag Team Champions Harlem Heat. Sister Sherri got involved to cause the disqualification. Well, Knobbs tosses Booker over the top to the floor to cause a double disqualification.
7.Speaking of the Nasty Boys, they competed in tag action this week. Actually, they compete on every episode it seems like. Saggs gets the pin fall after a top rope elbow drop. After the match, Mean Gene tells us that the Nasty Boys will be getting one more shot at the title. They believe that Harlem Heat and Sherri are desperate to hang onto the titles.
8.Ric Flair has another Fair to Flair segment. He is talking to a cardboard cutout of Hulk Hogan. He wants Hogan to use his influence to put in a good word for him to get back into WCW. Flair believes that he can be a Hulkamaniac if he is given a second chance in WCW. He promises to never chop Hogan, to never kick him in the leg, pull his hair, poke him in the eyes to deliver a knee drop or lock in the figure four ever again. He promises to never interfere in his matches ever again. I’m really liking the crazy Flair.
9.Jim Duggan competed in singles action. He wins the bout after a running clothesline.
10.A video promoting the Renegade is shown. He is basically a ripoff of the Ultimate Warrior.
11.Vader returned to action against jobber Ian Weston. Vader simply destroyed the poor guy and won the match after a power bomb. After the match, Mean Gene conducts an interview with Vader. Gene reminds Vader that he will not be part of the WCW US Championship tournament. He is convinced that he is the real champion and doesn’t understand why or how they could strip him of the championship. Vader believes that Ric Flair will not be back and that Hogan is just teasing him.
12.A video highlighting the transformation of Bobby Eaton is aired. Eaton has completely changed his character. He is now Earl Robert Eaton. Also, they are going by the Blue Bloods.
13.The Blue Bloods made their successful tag team debut this week on Saturday Night. Regal forced Hagler to submit to the Regal Stretch. I think this team could be my new favorite tag team at this point in WCW. After the match, the Blue Bloods cut a promo. Regal issues a threat to every tag team. They are going to suffer because they are forced to suffer for being in the United States. Ya know, they could just leave.
14.The main event this week is the ever popular Sting taking on the recently returned Steve Austin. Yeah, this match has lost a lot of it’s interest at this point. Sting hits a gorilla press slam on Austin to hit the first high impact move. Austin backs Sting into a corner with a few chops but Sting manages to catapult Austin into the corner for a near fall. Sting hits a suplex from the apron into the ring but Austin gets his knees up to block a big splash. Austin locks in a Boston Crab but Sting refuses to give in. Sting gets up and drops Austin with several clotheslines and running face buster. Sting avoids an atomic drop and hits a clothesline. They are on the floor when Sting sends Austin into the ring post. Back in the ring, Sting misses a top rope big splash. Austin goes to the top rope but he misses a splash as well. They counter a few tombstone attempts with Sting managing to hit the move. Austin gets his foot on the bottom rope on the cover attempt. Sting backdrops Austin in the ring and rolls Austin up to win the match.
15.WCW World Heavyweight Champion Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage and Jimmy Hart make their way out to be interviewed by Tony Schiavone to end the show. They are happy about next weeks chance to bring Flair back to WCW. Savage says both he and Hogan want to get their hands on Flair first. Hogan believes the only way to get rid of a guy who is retired is to bring him back to the company and beat him in the ring. Well, he already did that and Flair didn’t go away. So, that doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me.
Final Thoughts:
The format for Saturday Night is pretty much the same each and every week. That is getting a little annoying seeing the same guys in basically the same spot each week. I liked the featured bout, Flair’s segment and the tag team of the Blue Bloods. I’ll say it was an average week for Saturday Night. There wasn’t anything on here that was awful.

WCW Saturday Night 4/15/1995
World Championship Wrestling presents Saturday Night
Date: 4/15/1995
From: Atlanta, GA
Matches:
1.)Alex Wright defeated Bobby Starr
2.)Sgt. Craig Pittman defeated John Taylor
3.)Meng defeated Barry Hardy
4.)The Blue Bloods defeated Eddie Jackie & Scott Armstrong
5.)Paul Orndorff defeated Barry Houston
6.)Brian Pillman defeated Rick Thames
7.)Big Bubba defeated Larry Santo
8.)WCW Television Champion Arn Anderson & Vader defeated Stars & Stripes
Angle Developments/Notes:
1.Stars & Stripes will be squaring off against Vader and Arn Anderson tonight in the main event. They share their thoughts on the upcoming bout.
2.Alex Wright competed in singles action to kick off the show. Wright is still undefeated in WCW and didn’t have any problem with his opponent Bobby Starr. Wright won the bout after a top rope cross body. After the match, Mean Gene interviews Alex. He is really looking forward to his chance at competing against Arn Anderson and for his chance at winning the WCW United States Championship.
3.Pittman competed in a squash match this week. He won his squash by submission with a cross arm breaker. After the match, Mean Gene interviews Pittman who says he will be in the US Championship tournament if he wants to be in it. Naturally, Pittman is setting his sights on the top guys like Hogan and Savage.
4.Well, Meng’s match this week actually lasted longer than ten seconds. Barry Hardy lasted about fifteen seconds until he was drilled with a standing savant kick. After the match, Mean Gene interviews Meng, who will be in the US Championship tournament. Col. Robert Parker puts over Meng as been a man who has dominated since he came to WCW.
5.A video of Dave Sullivan recovering from an attack by his brother Kevin and the Faces of Fear. Dave has all his Hulkamania stuff by his bed. Hulk Hogan just so happens to call during the segment and Dave hopes to be back within a week or two. There is someone at the door and its Diamond Doll. She says she is going to get in a lot of trouble. She drops off a gift for Dave and quickly leaves. We don’t see what is in the bag, but it’s fuzzy according to Dave.
6.The newest tag team in WCW, the Blue Bloods were able to continue their winning ways since forming their team. Regal forced Jackie to submit to the Regal Stretch. After the match, they both get a few cheap shots.
7.It’s time for the verdict on whether or not Ric Flair will be reinstated into WCW. Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage are in the room to plead their case for Flair to come back into the wrestling business. They want Flair in the ring to take care of him one last time. There reasoning for him coming back doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. They decide to reinstate Flair back into WCW! Flair is back!
8.Who needs a tag team partner when you are Paul Orndorff? Orndorff hasn’t lost a beat since Paul Roma left WCW. Orndorff actually hit a vertical suplex driving Houston back first into the top turnbuckle, which looked sick. Orndorff hits the pile driver and wins the match. After the match, Mean Gene interviews Orndorff. He says he won several titles throughout his career. He doesn’t believe there is anyone close to him. Orndorff believes he will be the next WCW United States Champion.
9.A video promoting the Renegade is shown with Jimmy Hart putting over Renegade.
10.Brian Pillman competed in singles yet again. He was able to remain undefeated since returning from injury several weeks ago. Pillman won the bout with a submission hold, which was an arm bar.
11.The following men are announced as being participants in the US Championship tournament. Sting, Arn Anderson, Johnny B. Badd, Paul Orndorff, Meng, Marcus Bagwell, Brian Pillman, Bunkhouse Buck, Randy Savage, Butcher, Steve Austin, Jim Duggan, Ric Flair, The Patriot, Alex Wright and Big Bubba. The new champion will be crowned at the Great American Bash on June 18th.
12.Big Bubba has proved that it pays to be a bad guy as he has been on quite the winning streak as of late. Bubba wins his squash after a side walk slam. After the match, Mean Gene interviews Bubba. Gene says that he was sick at what Bubba did to Sting. Bubba wants Sting to look over his shoulder everywhere he goes. Bubba wants the US Championship and wants the World Heavyweight Championship. Bubba believes it is the world vs. himself. He is going to go through every man who steps in his way.
13.The main event starts off with Bagwell and Anderson squaring off. Bagwell scoop slams Anderson put only manages to get a near fall on the cover. Patriot tags in and knocks Anderson to the floor after hitting a dropkick. Patriot punches Vader on the floor and tags in Bagwell who locks in a sleeper back in the ring. Anderson gets one of his own locked in but Bagwell drops Anderson with a back suplex. Vader choke slams Bagwell while the referee has his back turned. That gives Anderson and Vader control of the match for a few moments now. Patriot actually gets a tag sooner than I thought he would and manages to clothesline Vader. Patriot goes to the top rope and nails Vader with a big shoulder block! Vader stops the momentum with a clothesline. Anderson bails from the ring when Patriot went for a left hook. On the floor, Vader uses his body to knock Patriot down on the floor. Here comes Ric Flair! Flair is out at ringside! Flair chokes Patriot on the floor while the referee is distracted. Vader hits a middle rope splash on Patriot for a two count. They ring the bell figuring that was the end, but they were wrong. Bagwell gets the hot tag and almost pins Anderson after a snap power slam. Patriot drives Vader down to the mat with a back suplex! A double dropkick sends Vader to the floor! Bagwell hits a fisherman suplex on Anderson but Vader splashes onto Bagwell and Anderson pins Bagwell to win the match! That was a surprisingly good main event this week.
14.To close the show, we hear from Vader, Anderson and Flair. Vader says that they do not fear anyone in WCW. Anderson says that he would shrug his shoulders when people asked when Flair would come back to WCW. Anderson would rather be with Vader than be against him. Flair says it feels great to be back in WCW and he will take Hogan out of WCW.
Final Thoughts:
This was just your standard episode of Saturday Night. The main event really surprised me as it was really enjoyable considering it was Bagwell and Patriot. They booked them rather good and kept them looking strong against Vader and Anderson. I’d have to think they will benefit from that. I don’t think I will understand why Hogan and company wanted Flair back on television, but whatever. Hopefully the feud has something new to offer and isn’t just the same old stuff over and over again. I’ll give this weeks episode a thumbs up.

WCW Saturday Night 4/22/1995
World Championship Wrestling presents Saturday Night
Date: 4/22/1995
From: Atlanta, GA
NOTE: The first hour of this program is missing from the tape I have. Luckily, the matches were all squash matches and there doesn’t appear to be anything significant missing from the show.
Matches:
1.)Brian Pillman defeated Dino Casanova
2.)Alex Wright defeated Chris Nelson
3.)Marcus Alexander Bagwell defeated Frankie Lancaster
4.)Meng defeated Mike Corey
5.)Paul Orndorff defeated Al Phillips
6.)Brian Pillman defeated Bunkhouse Buck to advance in the WCW United States Championship Tournament
7.)Brad Armstrong & Tim Horner defeated Len Denton & Jim Rogers
8.)Kevin Sullivan defeated Kip Abee
9.)Sgt. Craig Pittman defeated Ian Weston
10.)Sting defeated WCW Television Champion Arn Anderson to advance in the WCW United States Championship Tournament
Angle Developments/Notes:
1.Paul Orndroff won his squash match after a pile driver. After the match, Tony Schiavone interviewed Orndorff, who will be wrestling at Slamboree against the Great Muta. Orndorff says they could talk about Muta for hours, but they can talk about him for weeks. He puts over everything he has done in Tampa and isn’t going to let those people down.
2.Brian Pillman grabs a microphone and says he has a search for the truth. Pillman was wrong for attacking Parker. He is apologizing for what happened a long time ago. He puts over Parker as the best manager in the business. Pillman wants to shake Parker’s hand. Well, Parker does shake his hand but he sends Parker into Buck! Pillman quickly rolls Buck up and wins the match in three seconds!
3.Eric Bischoff is with Diamond Dallas Page and Diamond Doll at a restaurant. DDP has apparently won thirteen million dollars in Las Vegas. DDP doesn’t want to talk about the video of him selling his jewelry. He is happy to be back on the top floor. He won the money after one hundred and twenty seven roles at the craps table.
4.Hey, Brad Armstrong compete in a squash match! Good for that guy. Armstrong and Horner won their squash match when Armstrong pinned Rogers following a side Russian leg sweep. That was a very long squash match.
5.We see footage from WCW Worldwide where Kevin Sullivan flipped out on Butcher. Sullivan wants him to get his head together. Sullivan attacks Butcher and hits a pile driver on the floor!
6.Kevin Sullivan competed in a squash match this week. Sullivan picked up the win following a double stomp. After the match, Tony Schiavone talked to Sullivan. He says that Butcher had a dream about Hulkamania, which drove him away from the Faces of Fear. Sullivan has a dream of total destruction of the Butcher. His dream is going to our nightmare.
7.Sgt. Craig Pittman continued to make people submit to the Code Red on this weeks edition of Saturday Night.
8.The main event is a rather big one with Arn Anderson meeting Sting in singles action. It’s a rather slow start to the contest with neither man getting a consistent amount of offense. Sting hits a running face buster, which sends Anderson rolling to the floor to recover. Anderson is punched as he jumps off the middle rope and is knocked to the floor by Sting. Sting is backed into the corner and Anderson hammers away on Sting in the corner. Sting hammers away on Anderson’s leg and locks in a single leg Boston Crab. Sting drops Anderson to the mat with a knee breaker. Anderson stops Sting with the picture perfect spine buster! Sting gets out of a chin lock with a jaw breaker, but Anderson maintained control anyway. Anderson has a half Boston Crab locked in now. Anderson avoids a clothesline and plants Sting with a DDT! Anderson struggles to go for the cover and that allows Sting to put his foot on the bottom rope. They are on the floor when Sting counters a pile driver with a back drop! Sting hits a top rope big splash back in the ring but only gets a two count. Sting hits the Stinger Splash but on the second attempt Anderson back elbows Sting in midair! Sting slams Anderson off the top rope and locks in the Scorpion Death Lock to win the match! Honestly, that was a rather underwhelming match for the majority of the time they competed. Perhaps my expectations were to high for it, though.
9.To close the show, Tony Schiavone talks to Sting about his match at Slamboree against Big Bubba. Sting knows that anything goes when he meets Big Bubba at Slamboree. He is going to knock Bubba out at the pay per view. Sting puts over Anderson as a good wrestler and he is looking for victory number two in the tournament.
Final Thoughts:
Obviously since the first hour I missing for this I don’t know how that went. I didn’t find what I saw to be all that great, really. It’s hard to judge these shows when they are mainly just squashes. The main event was really just average, but again, I might have had my expectations a little to high. I’ll consider this an average week for Saturday Night.

WCW Saturday Night 4/29/1995
World Championship Wrestling presents Saturday Night
Date: 4/29/1995
From: Atlanta, GA
Matches:
1.)The Nasty Boys defeated Ricky Santana & Romeo Valentino
2.)Vader defeated Al Phillips
3.)Johnny B. Badd defeated George South
4.)The Butcher defeated Mark Starr
5.)Meng defeated Marcus Alexander Bagwell to advance in the WCW US Title Tournament
6.)Brian Pillman defeated Dino Casanova
7.)Kevin Sullivan defeated John Taylor
8.)Alex Wright defeated Chris Nelson
9.)Ric Flair & WCW Television Champion Arn Anderson defeated Brad Armstrong & Tim Horner
Angle Developments/Notes:
1.Tonight, Ric Flair returns to action when he teams with WCW Television Champion Arn Anderson to take on Tim Horner and Brad Armstrong. I’m kind of surprised that they are having Flair wrestle so soon on television.
2.The Nasty Boys are getting yet another tag team title shot at Slamboree in a few weeks. Knobbs slams Valentino and Saggs hits a top rope elbow drop to win the bout. After the match, Tony Schiavone conducted an interview with the Nasty Boys. Saggs says that there is no last chance because they live in Nastyville. They are going to win the tag team titles at Slamboree. It’s really just the same old promo by these two.
3.Vader destroyed Phillips and won the squash after delivering a power bomb. After the match, Vader tosses Phillips to the floor. Vader power bombs Phillips on the floor!
4.A video hyping up the Great Muta is aired. He will be competing at Slamboree. It will be the Great Muta squaring off against Paul Orndorff.
5.Johnny B. Badd knocked George South out with a left hook to win his squash match this week.
6.I’m not entirely sure if Butcher is a babyface now. I’m assuming that he isn’t. The finish of the match is cut off for some reason, but Butcher obviously won this.
7.Bagwell avoids a few kicks and dropkicks Meng into the corner. Meng stops Bagwell with a throat thrust and just chokes Bagwell. The referee actually pulls Meng’s hair and he stalks the referee on the floor. Bagwell takes Meng out with a cross body over the top onto the floor. Meng avoids a scoop slam and ends up nailing Bagwell with a savant kick to win the match. That was easily Meng’s longest match to date.
8.A video promoting the feud between Sting and Big Bubba Rogers is aired. Rogers cuts a promo with Tony Schiavone. Rogers says that the fans have been telling him that Sting has a lot of heart and will not back down. He doesn’t think there is a man who can beat him. Rogers is going to get rid of Sting at Slamboree.
9.A video of Diamond Dallas Page going on a shopping spree is shown. Remember, DDP has recently won over thirteen million dollars at a casino in Las Vegas, apparently.
10. Brian Pillman competed in singles action this week. Pillman wins the squash after a top rope big splash. After the match, Tony Schiavone interviews Brian Pillman. He talks about surviving thirty three surgeries. He isn’t going to promise a win against Meng. Instead, he is going to give Meng everything he has got to advance in the US Title Tournament.
11.A video highlighting Dave Sullivan’s rehab from injury is shown. It’s similar to what you would see in Rocky. It even has the rip off music.
12.Kevin Sullivan returned to television to destroy a poor jobber this week. Sullivan won the match after a double stomp. After the match, Tony Schiavone interviewed Kevin Sullivan. Kevin is talking about the black cloud that Butcher had around him. He is giving Butcher a warning. Sullivan suggests that Butcher not show up to Slamboree.
13.Alex Wright continued his undefeated streak in WCW after hitting a twisting top rope cross body. After the match, Tony Schiavone interviews Alex Wright. Wright is apparently looking to get another shot at Arn Anderson and WCW TV Championship. He says he is young and he is ready for Anderson. Wright is going to watch his back at Slamboree and believes that no one will interfere.
14.Anderson and Armstrong kick off the match with Anderson punching Horner off the apron. Horner punches Anderson after he rolls to the floor and Armstrong nearly got a roll up win. Armstrong hits a cross body off the middle rope for a two count. Flair tags into the bout. Flair slaps Armstrong and they lock up. Armstrong shoulder blocks Flair to get the early upper hand. Armstrong follows up with a nice dropkick. Anderson returns to the match to square off with Horner. Horner works on Anderson in the corner with right hands. The Horsemen have failed to get much of any offense in. Flair tags in to chop and punch Horner a few times. Horner drops Flair with a backdrop but he misses a dropkick attempt. Flair tosses Horner over the top to the floor, but the referee was distracted by Armstrong. They are just controlling Horner know like it is nothing to them. Horner atomic drops Anderson but they collide heads. Armstrong gets the hot tag and hammers away on Flair. Armstrong backdrops and dropkicks Flair. Anderson plants Armstrong with a spine buster and gets the win. Even wasn’t the legal man. After the match, Vader power bombs Horner on the floor! Randy Savage runs out to the ring and attacks Flair until Vader clubs him in the head. Hulk Hogan runs down to the ring and hammers away on Anderson and Flair! Flair chop blocks Hogan’s leg! Anderson has grabbed a chair. Anderson goes to the middle rope but here comes the Renegade! Renegade knocks Anderson off the middle rope to the floor. Renegade saves the day!
15.To close the show, Tony Schiavone interviews Hogan, Savage and Renegade. Hogan wants to thank the Horsemen for the wake up call. Savage says that Slamboree things are going to get crazy. Hogan believes that their biggest problem at Slamboree is being able to contain Renegade! Hogan wants Savage to save a piece of Vader for him. It’s only the beginning.
Final Thoughts:
The big deal here was the return of Ric Flair competing to the ring. I didn’t find the show to be all that entertaining. I actually thought it was rather bland and not all that interesting to me. Yeah, it’s cool that Flair is back in the ring, but I feel like they rushed his return to the ring. I would’ve just held off his return until Slamboree. So, this show gets a thumbs down for me. It just didn’t entertain me.
Thank for reading.
