WWE Raw Preshow Notes 7/27/15

– Bear with me this week guys, I’m working on fumes and we’ve got about 3 hours and 45 minutes to make it through… Preshow kicks off with Stanford, Graves and Otunga in WWE HQ. We learn Paige vs. Sasha Banks and Big Show vs. Dean Ambrose are already announced for Raw…. Reports also indicate that the entire WWE roster will be on the stage for the start of Raw.

– Undertaker/Brock Lesnar feud recap from last week’s wild and crazy brawl. Otunga claims we haven’t see the Undertaker since he lost to Brock at Mania until last week. Graves reminds Otunga that Taker returned at this year’s WrestleMania, Otunga completely ignores his giant mistake. Way to keep up with the product.

– It’s Kliq week on WWE Network… God help us all…

– Clips from Seth Rollins/John Cena segment from last week are shown, as I still sit here a week later and wonder WTF they’re thinking by running this program.

– Orton vs. Kevin Owens announced for Raw. The panel talks about Owens slump and his match vs. Finn Balor on the NXT special event the night before Summer Slam.

– Over at Raw, Jojo interviews The New Day about causing the Prime Time Players a loss against Los Matadores last week. New Day denies their intentions. Your typical New Day promo. New Day Rocks and all that…

– Divas discussion follows with all the NXT ladies recently debuting they talk about the mini factions currently in WWE. And that will wrap up the preshow…

The WWE Raw Report 7/27/15 from the Chesapeake Energy Center in Oklahoma City

The Authority, Seth Rollins / John Cena In-Ring Segment

– Raw starts with clips from last week’s angle with the Undertaker and Brock Lesnar. As we pan to the arena it’s HHH and Stephanie making their way to the ring… Oh, Seth Rollins is with them too… HHH immediately confirms Summer Slam will go four hours. Their next piece of business is to get over tonight’s card and the Divas division, announcing matches for tonight.

Rollins decides to get himself over so he starts mentioning how he beat Lesnar at Mania, and how he retained at Battleground. Rollins is the best champion of all time, blah blah…

And here comes John Cena to tell him different. John isn’t out here for the Authority, just Rollins. Cena puts Asshole Rollins in check. He calls Seth a JOKE for a champion. Cena suggests we find out who’s right. He knows Rollins won’t accept a fight, so he turns to the Authority for their help. Cena asks for a World Title shot tonight. Rollins doesn’t think he deserves it, but Stephanie leaves it to the people… The people strongly cheer for the match to be made… Stephanie fakes everyone out and says NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. lol… Heel heat.

Stephanie tells Cena to EARN the shot. HHH still makes the match, Cena vs. Rollins, but it’s for the U.S. Title instead. And that helps anyone HOW?

— Commercial Break —

1. Dean Ambrose vs. The Big Show

Miz on commentary. Apparently even after killing Miz in 90 seconds, the feud continues for the IC Title with Miz involved. Ambrose goes right at Show with rights and lefts, but gets ran over. Show charges at Dean but Ambrose ducks and Show takes a SLOWWWWW fall over the top rope to the floor. Ambrose with a baseball slide and a suicide dive takes Big Show down. Dean climbs to the top rope for a diving elbow to the floor but flies right into a BIG CHOP from the Big Show, and we’re off to commercial.

Back from break, Dean has his shirt ripped off while Show dominates. Show has Ambrose in a leg lock, so Dean unties Show’s boot. lol? So Big Show stops ti tie his shoe. WTF? lol. Dean applies a sleeper, but Show slobbers everywhere and rips Dean off his back. Ambrose drops Show’s throat across the top rope but Show catches Dean off the top rope and throws Ambrose behind him for a dangerous bump and a 2 count…

Show calls for the Chokeslam, but Dean counters with a DDT. Dean fires up with punches, bounces off the ropes for his big clothesline but runs into a CHOKESLAM!!!! 1………..2………Dean kicks out…..

Show with a SECOND CHOKESLAM!!! Dean rolls to the floor dead, but beats the count back in just before the 10… Dean stands up right into a Superkick from Big Show… Ambrose rolls back outside again and eats a SPEAR from Big Show outside… Show is dominating Dea, but AMBROSE BEATS THE COUNT BACK INSIDE AGAIN!!!

Show is in disbelief. The fight goes BACK to the floor. Big Show PRESSES Dean into the ring, but Ambrose lands on his feet… Dean comes out with a SUICIDE DIVE RIGHT INTO THE KNOCKOUT PUNCH ON THE FLOOR!!! Dean almost beats the count, but can’t beat it… Big Show wins on a count out in 11:20.

Post match, Big Show sizes up Dean who is propped against the time keeper barricade… Show charges at Ambrose, but Dean sidesteps and Show goes right through the barricade and knocks himself out. Ambrose loses but somehow leaves to his music… So why not just have Dean win the first place? I swears there’s some unwritten rule that Ambrose can’t win more than once a month.

I’ll give the writers/Vince credit though… There was no Miz interference, no Wyatt inteference, just a straight up fight.

— Commercial Break —

2. Neville vs. Fandango

Fandango has passed that point where he’s no longer just a jobber, he’s one of those guys you genuinely feel bad for. You want him to lose, but not THIS bad. Fanny counters a hurancan rana and runs Neville over with a clothesline. Fandango with the GORY SPECIAL!!!! Neville eventually escapes and hits a jawbreaker and a series of kicks. Dango to the floor and Neville does an inside out 180 dive over the top rope to the floor… Fandango rolled back inside the the Red Arrow ends it in 1:50.

Stardust appears on the Titan Tron to confront Neville. Stardust takes jabs at the fans about wanting him to become a baby face and use Dusty Rhodes’ death as the catalyst. Of course Cody doesn’t actually say that, but you can easily read between the lines… Stardust then rips on the Stephen Amell guy and rips up a picture of his Green Arrow character. Stardust goes on in usual Stardust fashion (AKA IS SUCKS). The crowd doesn’t care. Nothing will stop the super villain from beating the super heroes of the WWE like Neville. BLAH.

— Commercial Break —

– Backstage, Paige is with Becky Lynch and Charlotte talking about the fan support they’ve received. Team BAD shows up to take credit for the recent Divas success. Sasha Banks talks about being NXT champion. Paige talks about being the first Divas champion and 2 time WWE Divas champion. The two sides go at it verbally for a bit, Charlotte WOOs for no reason in the middle of all this, before we go to break…

Up next, it’s Paige vs. Sasha Banks…

— Commercial Break —

3. NXT Champion Sasha Banks (w/Naomi & Tamina) vs. Paige (w/Becky Lynch & Charlotte)

The two take the fight to the floor to begin and the team teams have a stare off. Cooler heads prevail and back to the ring for action. Paige nearly kicks Sasha’s face off early for a 2 count… It’s back and forth as the two girls feel each other out and finish with a stand off, but the WWE crowd isn’t trained to applaud so there’s just a small smattering of noise… Paige gets Banks down with a FALL AWAY SLAM gets 2… Backstage watching are the Bellas & Foxy. Sasha takes control. but misses a clothesline and eats a Superkick from paige. The kick knocks Sasha outside, and Paige climbs to the top rope and dives out onto all of Team BAD as we go to break.

Back from break, we see footage from during the commercial when the two teams went at it and all the outside ladies were ejected from ringside leaving it just one on one. Sasha props Paige on the middle rope and hits a double stomp to the gut for a near fall… Banks mocks Paige, says it’s her house now. Banks controls, grabs a couple more near falls and locks in a unique chinlock. Paige breaks free and lands a well placed kick. Paige with a series of knees to Banks in the corner, and then a trio of clotheslines, a dropkick. another Superkick… Paige with a running knee to the face! 1………..2………. Banks kicks out. Sasha back in control, goes for the double stmp on the corner again, but Paige counters and blocks it before locking in sort of a camel clutch… Banks reaches the ropes for the break. Sasha escapes Paige, slides behind and lands the BACK STABBER…. and the BANK STATEMENT as Paige taps out in just under 15:00….

Backstage, Renee Young is with Seth Rollins who could walk out tonight with both the WWE Title AND the U.S. Title. AGAIN, Rollins points out who he beat at Mania, and who he successfully defended against at Battleground. He’s outlasted Brock Lesnar twice, so he can beat Cena. Rollins says he defends his title against the best, while Cena defends against the rest. Rollins says he has passed Cena by and he will prove it tonight.

– Up next, Rusev has a surprise for Summer Rae.

– So, the Terminator is in the next WWE video game, and they’ve also just established by this mini-movie segment that Dean Ambrose is a better actor than anyone else in WWE as well… Go figure.

— Commercial Break —

Rusev & Summer Rae In-Ring Segment

Rusev and Summer in the ring. He says it’s the woman’s job to obey, but it’s a man’s job to give gifts. Rusev presents Summer Rae a dog… Yes… A DOG. Rusev says the dog’s name is Dolph Ziggler because it’s neutered and pees on itself. But that’s not the only gift… Oh yes, there’s more… It’s a giant dead FISH… He makes Summer take the fish… It has no head. Rusev names the cold fish after Lana, another cold fish… This HAS to be a Vince McMahon idea….

Lana cuts Rusev off. she’s sick of this… AND SO AM I. Lana has some things to say, then Summer has some things to say back. Lana kicks Summer’s leg out from under her and drives her face down into the fish… Lana then slaps Rusev and walks off… Rusev throws the fish down the ramp at her, lol.

This seems to be the question I ask every week with this storyline, but HOW DOES THIS HELP ANYONE?!?!?!?!???? WTF Vince, SERIOUSLY, just WTF…

Oh yeah, and the crowd really makes little noise throughout this crap.

— Commercial Break —

– This entire segment is spend hyping Taker vs. Brock Lesnar. A video package is shown covering their stuff from last week and we learn that Brock Lesnar returns to Raw next week…

– The Lucha Dragons take on Los Matadores, next.

— Commercial Break —

4. The Lucha Dragons vs. Los Matadores (w/Torito)

Prime Time Players on commentary. It’s back and forth flippy action in the ring. The PTP are talking about all of the potential challengers. Cara does a headstand in the corner and gets shoved to the floor. Matadores work over Cara on the floor and point at PTP. Ole! Titus calls them Puerto Rican Bull Fighters. Matadors keep up with the double team spots and work over Cara. Meanwhile, Titus and JBL argue about Puerto Rican bull fighters. Double underhook suplex on Cara gets 2… Crowd is about dead and Cara is moving in slow motion for much of the match. Eventually Cata lands something and hot tags to Kalisto and business picks up. Kicks and flippies by Kalisto gets a near fall off a tornado DDT…. Hand spring pele kick by Kalisto gets a near fall… Cara dives on one Matador on the floor, Kalisto and the other Matador drop each other in the ring… and here comes NEW DAY with a a sign that reads REAL MEGA DAD OF THE YEAR, pointing to Kofi, mocking Titus… New Day have fun with PTP on the floor… And they’re also the most over thing out here. Go figure… Meanwhile Kalisto with a rana roll up gets the pin on a Matador in 8:05.

New Day does the Lucha dance, but to the beat of NEW DAY.

— Commercial Break —

Wyatt Family Segment / Luke Harper “Recommits”

– This segment was announced as Luke Harper recommitting to the Wyatt Family. We’ve got Bray Wyatt & Luke Harper coming to the ring. Bray is not a betting man, but if he was he’d bet everyone in the crowd has a family that they love. He says the children’s moms and dads have been lying to them their whole lives and they do not love their children. Because if they loved them they’d tell the truth, that this world is not beautiful or safe. Wyatt says to see the truth, just look at the schools, government, places of worship. The places that protect us are the places we should fear the most. When we realize that, only then will be set free.

Bray talks about having a pet and setting it free. But his pet came back, but something was different with scar across his face. His pet never left again. That day, his pet learned a lesson, that the world has sharper teeth than his. The most valuable lesson is you have to get them before they get you. Wyatt talks about “fixing” Luke Harper from a broken man and set him free.

Luke takes over. Harper says there was a time when he didn’t know why he was here on Earth, but Bray showed him that it was the world who made him the way he is. The world shunned him, but Wyatt saved him and showed him the right path in life. Harper gives his life to Bray Wyatt.

Back to Wyatt who praises Luke for his loyalty. And we move on to discuss Reigns. Wyatt says if Reigns truly loved Ambrose like a brother he would tell him to run away from danger. Wyatt says this is Reigns’ hill to die on, not someone else. But the Wyatt Family is here for him. Follow the buzzards.

— Commercial Break —

– Steve Austin’s podcast guest on the Network next week is… PAIGE? WTF is that?

5.Charlotte & Becky Lynch (w/Paige) vs. Nikki Bella & Alicia Fox (w/Brie)

Nikki and Lynch start. If you haven’t seen Lynch, she’s good. Double team spot by the faces. Charlotte tags in with Charlotte’s Web for a 2 count and then a series of WOOO chops in the corner on Nikki. Charlotte neds up in the heel corner and Foxy tags in to take over… Backstage, Team BAD is watching. Charlotte gets distracted by Brie and Fox lands a big kick to her head. Double team spot by the heels. Nikki nails Becky on the apron and drops Charlotte as well before doing the lame push ups… Double suplex on Charlotte and Foxy gets 2… Unqiue surfboard applied by Fox, but Charlotte turns it into a pin attempt for 2. Hot tag to Becky Lynch. Like her hair, she’s on fire… T-Bone suplex on Foxy, but Nikki breaks up the cover… We’ve got all four going at it but Becky eventually locks in the arm breaker (the “disarmer”) on Fox for the win in 6:00 even.

We’ve got that Fella Sheamus on commentary. Ugh already. Orton dominates eary, Owens takes a powder but the fight goes to the floor. Back inside it’s Randy with the Orton Stomp. KO comes back with a big clothesline and some offense, but Orton cuts him off with a standing dropkick and the match is back on the floorr. KO sends Orton into the ring post and hits a Fall Away Slam into the barricade just before the break.

Back from break, Owens still has control. Owens misses a Cannonball in the corner and Orton takes over. Randy with a powerslam on the Sweat Hog, and then an Exploder Suplex on KO… Owens rolls to the apron, right in front of Sheamus. Owens drags Randy outside but its Kevin that gets sent into tbe barricade… Sheamus leaves commentary and a BROGUE KICK to Orton draws a DQ after 11:30. Why not do that minutes ago?

Sheamus and Owens looks to double team Randy in the ring, but CESARO makes the save and is all over both men now… Uppercuts everywhere… Sheamus grabs Cesaro’s leg to distract him and he turns into a Pop Up Powerbomb by Owens to end the segment with the faces laid out.

Cena recovers from the possible broken nose, he tries a come back but Seth with an enzuigiri and then a running Powerbomb into the corner….
