Underground TV 2003-09-01 (Matches taped Summer Apocalypse 2003-08-22 from St. Petersburg Coliseum in St. Petersburg, Fla)

Champions
World: Steve Corino
GTC: Simon Diamond & CW Anderson

Almost all the matches that will air over the course of Underground TV have been previously reviewed from the home videos so these will be short recaps.

Jerry “The King” Lawler with a pre taped interview from Stanford, Ct talks about how much he hate Terry Funk. Funk has similar words for Lawler. Funk talks about the empty arena match they had years ago when Lawler took out Funk’s eye. They go at it in tonight’s main event.

Opening video.

Joey Styles is our host. Joey now says the Extreme Horsemen have challenged Terry Funk to gather a group of legends for War Games. Well that’s kind of a different story then what he was saying last week.

Sonjay Dutt is in the locker room and he is very excited about his match this week with Jimmy Yang. After a commercial break Joey hypes the match and the juniors tournament. Jimmy Yang beat Dutt in the match but Dutt won the fans over with a great showing.

A video package on the battle between Sabu and the Sinister Minister’s group is shown. Both Bill Alfonso and Minister are trying to get a Loser Leaves Town Match between Sabu and “Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels.

CM Punk trash talks Raven. Raven shows up behind Punk and kicks him in the face.

The main event is next Jerry Lawler beat Terry Funk but the Extreme Horsemen refused to pay the bounty. This lead to Funk and Lawler fighting with Simon Diamond and CW Anderson and the War Games match being finalized. We get a few seconds not shown on home video during the part that was clipped. Funk hit 2 stunners and a neckbreaker on Lawler right before the finish of the match.

My thoughts on the show…
Tough one here as the main event was just awful but that opening match was really good. Well I say watch this one and just turn it off once you get to the main event.

Almost all the matches that will air over the course of Underground TV have been previously reviewed from the home videos so these will be short recaps.

We get clips the ending of the main event last week. To the Extreme Horsemen we go and they all hype the War Games. Sandman questions what they are going to do at War Games. “Dr. Death” Steve Williams says it’s going to be a war and that Terry Funk and Jerry Lawler need to learn to be a team. Lawler says he has no problem with Williams or Sandman but has lots of problems with Funk. Lawler wants to know if Funk is man enough to put there problems asides. Funk again talks about what Lawler did to his eye in the empty arena match 20 years ago. Funk says they have a team to get the job done because they are 4 mean sons of bitches.

Opening video.

Joey Styles lets us know that we have three big matches tonight. In the opening match The Samoan Island Tribe beat Monsta Mac and B-Boy in a wild Falls Count Anywhere Match with an awesome finish. Mac’s normal partner Mafia was not in the match because the Samoans according to Joey attacked him in the parking lot.

Bill Alfonso and Sabu are backstage. Alfonso says Sabu is a scared up freak and that means Daniels has no chance in the spike match. Sinister Minister is with Jerry Lynn and Mikey Whipwreck. Minister says that Homicide got lucky when he pinned Lynn. Sinister talks about a lion taking over another pack by eating the young and raping the women to become king. Mikey begins to sing “in the jungle the might jungle” but Minister stops him and says “A you can’t sing and B this is very serious please be quiet”. Lynn then growls at Homicide. These guys are great together. I’m loving their promos. Signed for War Games is a loser leaves MLW for 60 days match between Daniels and Sabu. Homicide talks about how he’s going to beat Lynn tonight.

CM Punk talks about how Raven quit doing drugs and drinking so he can go up North and work for a circus. He says Raven got comfortable and slipped back into the drugs and got himself fired. Punk says that even he can’t help Raven. Punk says at War Games is new friend Nosawa will help Raven become straight edge.

Homicide beat Jerry Lynn for the second straight time. However after the match Lynn laid out Homicide with the cradle piledriver followed by the ring bell to the throat.

Sonja Dutt talks about the Junior Heavyweight Title Tournament. Los Maximos take on Mexico’s Most Wanted at War Games. Raven talks about how he loves beating up flunkies.

In the main event Sabu beat a bloodied “Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels in a spike match by submission.

My thoughts on the show…
Another fun promo by Sinister Minister and his crew. The second and third match both disappointed me. This episode can be skipped.

Underground TV 2003-09-15 (Matches taped Summer Apocalypse 2003-08-22 from St. Petersburg Coliseum in St. Petersburg, Fla)

Champions

GTC: Simon Diamond & CW Anderson

Almost all the matches that will air over the course of Underground TV have been previously reviewed from the home videos so these will be short recaps.

The Extreme Horsemen beat down Sandman in the locker room before their tag team title match tonight.

Opening video.

Joey Styles runs down the show for tonight and hypes War Games coming up in a few days. At War Games we will find out who was behind the mask at Summer Apocalypse as they join the Extreme Horsemen.

We go down to the ring for the opening match. Mikey Whipwreck beat Tony Mamaluke with a super whippersnapper.

CM Punk talks about how Nosawa wants to prove that he belongs with Punk and will do so by taking out Raven. Joey runs down the rules to the Straight Edge Match coming up later tonight. Raven says no matter what the rules are he’s going to kick Punk’s ass.

In breaking news “Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels and Mikey Whipwreck attacked Sabu and Bill Alfonso during an MLW.com photo shoot. Sabu is now out of action and won’t be at War Games. Daniels has now entered the J-Cup USA Tournament.

The Extreme Horsemen retained the Global Tag Team Championship Crown by defeated “Dr. Death” Steve Williams and Sandman in the second match.

CM Punk got a victory over Raven in the Straight Edge Rules match with some help from a hand picked referee.

Joey hypes War Games one last time and we get a music video package highlighting its matches.

My thoughts on the show…
Two out of the three matches were decent enough the title match stunk. This one is worth checking out.

Junior Heavyweight Champion: Sonjay Dutt

Highlights of last weeks Straight Edge Rules Match.

Opening video and that’s a great way to spend the first 6 minutes of a 1 hour program.

Joey Styles welcomes us to the show and hypes Hybrid Horror coming up on October 24th.

Michael Shane and Francine defeated Norman Smiley and GI Ho in the opening bout.

Joey hypes next weeks Underground TV which will feature the War Games match.

Mana beat Rich Criado with a super samoan drop in 3.59. This match was clipped on the home video and is shown complete here. There was really no extra action to talk about.

Los Maximos talk about how they are going to beat Nosawa and B-Boy in the main event because they are the best tag team in the world. I would strongly disagree with that. Joey lets us know that at Hybrid Horror. Terry Funk takes on Champion Steve Corino. Funk gets to pick the stipulation for the match but it is his last chance ever.

Jerry Lynn, Sinister Minister and Mikey Whipwreck talk about Homicide and how he’s in over his head. Mikey holds up his rubber ducky and tells Homicide to “go duck” himself. Lynn follows that up by saying “duck off”. Mikey falls to the ground laughing.

Joey says that at Hybrid Horror launching pads will be welded to the ring post for the Junior Heavyweights to use. Sounds awesome and I can’t wait for Ekmo to jump off one.

“Dr. Death” Steve Williams hypes his tag team match with Sandman against the Extreme Horsemen coming up at Hybrid Horror. Music begins to loudly play while Williams tries to talk and PJ Friedman busts into the locker room and tells Doc it’s time to party and then leaves.

In the main even Los Maximos beat Nosawa and B-Boy. I guess they will continue to say they are the best team in the world now. The home video cuts about a minute into the match and makes it look like B-Boy and Joel start out the match. Nosawa and Jose actually start but we go to commercial break before they do anything butplay to the crowd. When we come back we are where the match begins on the home video.

My thoughts on the show…

This one is worth checking out for the main event. As much as I hate the Maximos brothers I actually enjoyed this match.

Underground TV 2003-09-29 (Matches taped War Games 2003-09-19 from War Memorial Auditorium in Fort Lauderdale, Fla)

Champions
World: Steve Corino
GTC: Simon Diamond & CW Anderson
Junior Heavyweight Champion: Sonjay Dutt

Almost all the matches that will air over the course of Underground TV have been previously reviewed from the home videos so these will be short recaps.

Extreme Horsemen open the show with an in ring promo where they introduce PJ Walker and Barry Windham as the newest members of the Extreme Horsemen.

Brand new opening video!

First round Junior Heavyweight Tournament action starts us off tonight as Sonjay Dutt beats Tony Mamaluke. Joey Styles still on commentary here even though Kevin Kelly did the home video version.

Joey hypes Hybrid Horror and runs down the rules of War Games. We go to the locker room where Terry Funk and Champion Steve Corino are taking part in the coin toss to determine which team gets the advantage. Corino’s team wins.

In the War Games Match Terry Funk forced Champion Steve Corino to submit to the spinning toe hold after blowing fire in his face. Sabu and Bill Alfonso made a surprise appearance and joined the Funkin’ Army. During the match Joey announced that the stipulation picked by Terry Funk for his match at Hybrid Horror is a Dog Collar Match.

My thoughts on the show…
Skip this one. The War Games match was too slow and the opening was nothing.
