European Junior Heavyweight Champion Mikey Whipwreck vs. Dirt Bike Kid, ref John “Pee Wee” Moore
The rarely defended European Title. Kid attacks before the bell and goes to work on the arm. Mikey ducks a clothesline and hits a drop kick that sends Kid to the floor. Mikey with a plancha to follow. Kid throws Mikey into the guardrail and then back into the ring. Kid comes in with a cross body off the top rope and goes back to the arm. Kid throws Mikey out of the ring and then goes for a springboard body block but totally misses and slams his face on the floor. Mikey still sells it though and goes down. Middle rope leg drop by the Kid gets 2. Mikey with an atomic drop but Kid comes back with a rana. Kid goes up top and hits a moonsault for 2. Kid climbs back up top but Mikey kicks his feet out. Mikey climbs up top hits a super rana and gets the win in 7.21. As Mikey walks down the aisle we see that he has a giant bump on his forehead not sure where that came from.
Spike Dudley vs. Chris Candido, ref Jim Molineaux
Candido grabs the mic before the match. Candido talks about leaving the WWF to come to ECW. He says he didn’t come back to have the assholes in the crowd cheer for him. “Skip is dead but he left me all his money” haha. Candido out wrestles Spike to start but slaps him and pisses him off. Spike with a rana and drop kick. Candido goes to the floor and Spike jumps off the apron onto him. Back in ring Spike goes for another rana but this time Candido counters with a power bomb. Slingshot belly to back suplex followed but a gut wrench power bomb gets 2. Spike gets sent into the corner a few times. The last time he puts on the breaks and comes back at Candido with a drop kick followed by a head scissors. Spike grabs Candido and runs up the buckle and lands a tornado bulldog. He goes up top but Candido knocks him down and follows to hit a super bomb for the win in 5.27.
Rob Van Dam vs. David Morton Tyler Jericho, ref John Finnegan
Van Dam hits a kick combo that for once doesn’t look like shit. Lots of back and forth mat work in the early minutes. Van Dam goes for a leap from but Morton doesn’t get under him enough and Van Dam leads the you fucked up chant. Irish whip and Van Dam throws Morton up into the air and he comes crashing down. He tries it again but Morton hits a rana on his way down. Van Dam bails to the floor and Morton follows with a baseball slide. Van Dam is sent into the crowd from it. Morton follows with a body block off the top into the crowd. Morton with a springboard leg drop back into the ring for 2. Morton his a drop kick in the corner but when he goes for another charge Van Dam hits him with an elbow. Morton comes back with a low blow and then hits the bossman guillotine thing. He attempts it again but Van Dam moves and Morton goes throw the ropes crashing to the floor. Van Dam comes off the top rope with a somersault dive to the floor! Back in the ring Van Dam comes off the top rope with a kick. Rolling thunder leg drop and then Van Dam gets a chair. Van Dam puts Morton hanging off the apron and puts a chair on his face. Van Dam leaps over the top rope to the outside of the ring with a leg drop to the chair. Morton is crumbled in the corner and Van Dam charges with the chair and drop kicks it into Morton. Another leg drop on the chair gets 2. Van Dam goes to throw Morton onto the chair but Morton DDTs him onto it instead. Tilt a whirl head scissor as Morton tries to make a comeback. Another rana gets 2. Morton gets the chair and nails Van Dam with it twice. He goes for it a third time but has the chair kicked into his face. Split legged moonsault onto the chair gets Van Dam the victory in 12.59.
Axl Rotten & Bad Crew vs. Hack Meyers, Rick Rage & Devon Storm, ref John “Pee Wee” Moore
Oh no this is going to be bad. Axl starts with Hack but then tags out before making any contact. Bad Crew guy takes over on Hack right away but not for long. The other member of Bad Crew tags in and hits a suplex. Another tag but Hack hits a double clothesline on Bad Crew. Axl comes in with a chair and nails Hack. Storm and Rage come in and get hit also. Axl then turns on his partners and nails them with the chair. Axl goes to nail Hack again but he ducks and Hack gets the chair and hits Axl. D-Von Dudley comes out to distract Hack. Axl nails Hack with a chair and pins him getting the win for his team in 3.03. Axl gets on the mic after the match and runs down Hack. Hack gets up though and attacks but D-Von gets in and they double team Hack.
D-Von Dudley (w/ Axl Rotten) vs. Buh Buh Ray Dudley (w/ Sign Guy Dudley), ref Jim Molineaux
D-Von gets the mic before the match and talks shit. Buh Buh comes out charging. They go right after each other. D-Von with a belly to back and diving headbutt. Buh Buh fights back and hits a cutter for 2. Buh Buh with a flying shoulder block and D-Von goes to the floor. Buh Buh follows and they fight on the floor. Of course a chair comes into play. Back in the ring Buh Buh with a bossman slam for 2. Buh Buh goes for a bomb but D-Von slips behind and hits a reverse DDT on the chair and gets the win in 5.32. Axl and D-Von attack after the match. Joel Gertner comes down and makes the announcement of the winner. Spike Dudley tries to make the save. Tag Team Champion New Jack shows up to make the save. Buh Buh power bombs Gertner. New Jack says some stuff on the mic afterwards about the 3 way title match tomorrow night.
F.B.I vs. The Eliminators, ref John “Pee Wee” Moore
Little Guido and Saturn start off. Guido with the early advantage hits a side slam and uses his speed advantage to maintain control. Saturn though quickly comes back with a power slam and both teams tag. Kronus hits a stiff kick on JT Smith and follows with a handspring back elbow in the corner. He goes for another one but Smith comes out of the corner with a clothesline to the back of the head. A few tags by the F.B.I. but their advantage ends when Kronus catches a spin kick and hits a belly to back on Smith. Saturn tags in and they give a couple of kicks to both members of the F.B.I. The Eliminators hit body slams followed by spring board moonsaults. They then stand Guido and Smith right next to each other and hit total elimination on then at the same time to get the win in 4.07. Smith falls out of the ring knocking over the camera man as the fans all laugh at him. HAHA.
ECW TV Champion “The Franchise” Shane Douglas (w/ Francine & Brian Lee) vs. Louie Spicolli, ref Jim Molineaux
These two have had two matches with each other recently one of which was pretty good. A chant of “She’s got herpes” starts up before the opening bell. Spicolli gets on the mic and tells Shane once the bell rings and Francine and Lee are gone it’s just them one on one. Taz and Bill Alfonso interrupt the introductions. Taz gets on a mic and discusses the Paul Heyman promo from TV last week. Taz says tomorrow night Sabu won’t have a choice but to confront Taz. Taz is going to expose Sabu for the pussy that he is. Taz and Spicolli get face to face. Shane jumps Spicolli. Shane with the advantage hitting a suplex. Spicolli comes back with a few slams. Shane however takes back over with a swinging neck breaker. Shane throws Spicolli to the floor where Lee works him over. Gut wrench suplex by Shane, Spicolli mounts a comeback but is cut off by Shane. Missile drop-kick gets 2. Louie fights back and hits a spine buster and both men are down. Northern lights by Louie nearly gets a 3 count. Louie hits a high back body drop then knocked Lee off the apron. Belly to belly but then Francine jumps in the ring and hits Louie with her shoe. Louie grabs her kisses her then lifts her up for a DVD. Shane saves her but he goes up for a DVD. Lee makes the save by going for a choke slam but Louie blocks it and finally hits the DVD as the fans go wild. Louie turns into a single arm DDT and gets pinned in 8.29. Crowd got HOT for the finish. Good match with a nice finish. Also “Perfect Strangers” is like the best song ever.
Raven & Stevie Richards (w/ Tyler & Lori Fullington, Super Nova & Blue Meanie) vs. World Champion Sandman & Tommy Dreamer, ref John Finnegan
Richards gets on the mic but Sandman spits beer in his as he begins to talk. Dreamer then spits soda on Meanie and Nova. Between this and the entrances its been like three hours. Crowd will not let Stevie get out a word with out yelling at him. Richards says this will basically be a handicap match because he won’t even have to tag Raven. Richards and Dreamer start off. Oh come on! Dreamer grabs the mic before any wrestling happens. Finally the begin. Dreamer with a russian leg sweep they then go to the floor for a quick little brawl. Back in Dreamer with a suplex and he nails Richards with a telephone. Sandman tags in and beats on Richards a bit until he gets a chair super kicked into his face. Raven tags in and goes to work on Sandman. Richards tags in hits a rocker dropper then goes for a drive by. Sandman moves and tags Dreamer. Raven comes in and they all fight ref gets super kick. Dreamer hits a drop kick on Richards but turns into a DDT Raven covers but no ref. Dreamer now hits a DDT but still no ref. Everyone jumps on Dreamer. Raven leg drops him on a table but it doesn’t break. Stevie jumps off the apron to try to put him through but again it doesn’t work. Finally Raven with a slingshot elbow drop and it finally breaks. Pile driver on Dreamer gets 2. Raven and Richards work over Dreamer for a bit. Sandman finally tags in and all hell breaks loose. Raven uses Tyler to distract Sandman. Lori canes Sandman from behind Raven hits a DDT for 2. Dreamer DDTs Raven. Stevie with a super kick on Dreamer. Sandman covers Raven for the 3 count in 14.04.
Sabu vs. 2 Cold Scorpio, ref Jim Molineaux
This is billed as their final battle. They fight for control and then Scorpio hits a neck breaker. Sabu with a tilt a whirl head scissor and Scorpio goes to the floor to get away. Scorpio takes over and throws Sabu out of the ring. He crotches him on the guardrail. Suplex back into the ring. Top rope moonsault from Scorpio to a standing Sabu. Superplex by Scorpio gets a 2 count as we cross the 7 minute mark. Sabu ducks a clothesline and hits a leg lariat. Sabu puts Scorpio on a table and goes for a slingshot leg drop to the floor. Scorpio moves and Sabu crashes through the table. Scorpio hits Sabu with a chair and then they head back into the ring. Scorpio with a bulldog onto the chair. DDT on the chair by Sabu and an arabian face buster for 2. Scorpio comes back with a super kick. He puts Sabu on the apron and plans to send him through a table but Sabu slingshots himself back into the ring drop kicking Scorpio in the process. They both go up top and Sabu hits a sunset flip power bomb. Sabu sits Scorpio on the top and tries to run up a chair but Scorp comes off with a clothesline. Scorpio gets sent into the buckle but stops himself and comes off the second rope with a sunset flip. Sabu goes to the floor Scorpio follows with a clothesline off the apron. Back in the ring Sabu throws a chair into Scorpio’s head. Sabu with a super rana for a 2 count. Triple jump moonsault but Scorpio moves. Scorpio comes off the top with a splash for 2. Scorpio now with a super victory roll that almost gets him the win. He goes back up top but Sabu cuts him off. Scorpio however with a super front suplex but then he misses a splash from the top. Sabu leaps off the second turnbuckle with a DDT for another close 3 count. Scorpio comes back with a super kick for 2. Moonsault misses. Sabu with a triple jump tornado DDT. That looked awesome. Some confusion here as the ref stops counting but Scorpio clearly doesn’t kick out. The ref starts counting again and again stops counting even though Scorpio doesn’t kick out. Scorpio hits a German for 3 even though Sabu rolls his shoulder up. Sabu then gets announced as the winner. Sabu and Scorpio are mad so they beat the shit out of the ref. HAHA. They plan on putting him through a table but it falls apart when they put him on it. Well bell to bell it was 17.36. Sabu and Scorpio shake hands and hug after the match. Scorpio gets on the mic and runs down fans and says he’s going to the WWF to make his money.
My thoughts on the show…
I enjoyed the Candido match I love his super bomb it always looks so awesome. Douglas and Spicolli had a nice match and like I mentioned an exciting finish. Sabu/Scorpio was a little slower paced then normal but a nice final match between two guys that have had some good battles in the past.
