Champions
World: Raven
TV: Shane Douglas
Tag Team: Gangstas

Just three weeks removed from our last major Arena show we already get another one. Not sure what to expect from this show as basically none of it was ever advertised.

Louie Spicolli vs. Devon Storm (w/ Damien Kane & Lady Alexandra), ref John Finnegan
Before the match Taz is backstage shouting into the camera. He wants Sabu and now tells Rob Van Dam that he’s going to kill him to for getting in the way. During all this we hear the bell to signal the start of the match we are not seeing. To the match and Storm comes off the top with a head scissor. Spicolli goes to the floor and Storm comes off the top with a somersault senton. Spicolli gets a chair and slams it into Storm’s knee a bunch of times. Back in the ring Spicolli stays on the knee. Storm pushes Spicolli to the outside and Storm follows and gets the upper hand. Back in the ring Storm hits a slingshot leg lariat for 2. Storm comes off the top with a flying Diamond Dust for 2. Spicolli comes back and hits the DVD to the gasps of the fans for the pin in 5.43. About 15 seconds of that was during the Taz promo. Kane gets on the mic afterwards and wants to hire Spicolli. He offers Spicolli Alexandra, I guess it’s kind of signing bonus. They shake hands but Spicolli grabs him and hits a sick DVD. The crowd chants huge and asks for him to do it once more. He obliges and the fans pop HUGE. Now I realize that the ECW Arena crowd will chant for just about anything but this seemed like the type of pop that can get a guys career going in ECW.

European Junior Heavyweight Champion Mikey Whipwreck vs. Little Guido (JT Smith, Big Guido & Sal Bellomo), ref Jim Molineaux
Well these guys had a stinker of a match last night let’s see how round 2 goes. Back and forth for the first few minutes Mikey takes over with a rocker dropper and clothesline that sends Guido to the floor. Smith and Guido talk outside and Mikey planchas onto them. Mikey tries to jump on Big Guido with a frankensteiner but he catches him and puts him on the apron. Mikey kicks Guido into the crowd and goes up top. Mikey over leaps Big Guido on a frankensteiner attempt and crashes to the floor allowing Little Guido to gain the advantage. That almost looked like Big Guido bitched out on the move. Back in the ring Guido goes to work on the arm. Mikey ducks a clothesline hits a superkick and then misses a top rope splash. After a few minutes Mikey begins to mount a come back. Mikey hits a super monkey flip, basically he was going for a super rana and slipped followed by a top ropes elbow to get the win in 8.56. Mikey is on the ground holding his knee after the match and appears to be injured.

D-Von Dudley & Axl Rotten vs. Buh Buh Ray & Big Dick Dudley (w/ Sign Guy & Chubby Dudley), ref John “Pee Wee” Moore
D-Von Dudley and Axl Rotten are in the ring. D-Von is on the mic and trash talks the crowd for a bit. Buh Buh and Dick hit the ring and the fight is on. Buh Buh is all over D-Von while Big Dick beats on Axl. Buh Buh splashes D-Von through a table. About 3 minutes into the match and Buh Buh and D-Von on fighting in the crowd and up to the Eagle’s Nest. Axl and Big Dick join them. Buh Buh climbs all the way up to the top stage and then on top of a speaker and dives to the stage below with a cross body onto everyone including his partner. They all brawl back into the crowd. Buh Buh goes for a leg drop off the apron through a table but D-Von moves. Axl clips the knee of Big Dick in the ring and he gets double teamed. Dick fights out and has D-Von finally but Axl gets Dick from behind (during proof reading I see how dirty that sounds HA). Axl holds Dick (and there it is again) but he moves and D-Von hits Axl with a chair by accident. Dick throws Buh Buh onto Axl and they get the win at 8.16. The winners celebrate their victory in the ring. However with D-Von not getting pinned I think it’s a safe bet that this feud will continue you. Buh Buh goes after D-Von on the floor and smacks him with a chair. D-Von gets into the ring and throws a fit.

Missy Hyatt, Sandman, Lori Fullington, Stevie Richards, Blue Meanie and Super Nova are all in the ring. Ring Announcer Joel Gertner says he will not announce the match between Lori and Missy because Missy has a broken arm and he see no reason why he should let this match happen. Missy canes Joel and then so does Sandman. Meanie gets on the mic and gets caned by Missy. Stevie Richards is next and he talks about the sexual harassment law suit. Stevie says he will drop it if she denounces the Sandman. Missy gets on the mic and starts trash talking Sandman she turns and says her money is more important then the Sandman. OH GOD! Sandman canes her in the back of the skull and kills her.

No Rules Bad Street Death Match: “Primetime” Brian Lee vs. Terry “Bamm Bamm” Gordy, ref John Finnegan
Gordy does his run the ropes to warm up thing and Lee steps in front and nails him with a clothesline. Lee follows it up with a powerslam. Gordy comes back with a clothesline of his own and they brawl into the crowd. They go out to the crowd where they set off some car alarms. These guys are all over each other with stiff shots. Lee slams the back of Gordy’s head into a garage door a few times. They fight back to ringside. Lee charges Gordy and gets back dropped through a table. Into the ring Gordy with some clotheslines in the corner and a DDT for 2. Big boot by Lee but Gordy doesn’t go down. Gordy blocks a chokeslam with a low blow. Gordy locks on the Asiatic spike and gets the pin in 5.13.

Doug Furnas vs. Rob Van Dam, ref Jim Molineaux
It seems Van Dam has begun his stalling tactics that will lead to me despising him. Furnas hits a SICK looking release german before the 2 minutes mark. Rob with some flips and kicks. Furnas catches him bouncing off the ropes in a stun gun but instead just drops him over the top rope. Van Dam climbs back on the apron and Furnas charges and sends him flying into the crowd. Furnas follows and takes it to the extreme! They go to the top bleacher and Furnas press slams Van Dam and throws him across a gap onto a stage behind. Van Dam takes tons of chair shots and the fans are going extra nuts for this. Furnas kills Van Dam with a clothesline that sends him over the guardrail back to the ringside area. Furnas goes back into the ring and Van Dam suplexes Furnas from inside the ring to the outside. Van Dam does the slingshot leg drop with the chair on Furnas’ face. Van Dam with a double leg drop from the top rope for 2. Van Dam misses a spin kick and Furnas throws him over head with a belly to belly suplex. Big powerslam by Furnas for 2. Van Dam comes back with a springboard kick for 2. Van Dam goes for the super fisherman buster but Furnas blocks and front suplexs Van Dam to the mat. Furnas comes off the top with a flying clothesline. Van Dam rolls to the floor and gets a chair and smacks Furnas with it. Van Dam comes off the top Furnas catches and tries to powerslam him but lands oddly and Van Dam gets 2. Van Dam goes for a cross body and Furnas catches him again flips him around and tombstones him on a chair for 2. Van Dam goes for a monkey flip on a chair but Furnas blocks it and spin busters Van Dam on the chair. Oh god Furnas puts a huge dent in a chair with Van Dam’s skull. He hits Van Dam again then pushes the ref away. Van Dam hops up and kicks the chair into Furnas’ face and covers him for the win in 13.06. After the match Van Dam gets on the mic and tells Furnas he respects him and wants to shake hands. They do but then Furnas levels Van Dam with a clothesline and a release german suplex that flips Van Dam all the way over and he lands stomach first! Van Dam is stretchered out.

Taz (w/ Bill Alfonso & Team Taz) vs. Tommy Dreamer (w/ Beulah), ref John “Pee Wee” Moore
Taz gets on the mic before the match and says the fans won’t see any hardcore shit or brawling out of the ring just wrestling and Taz choking out Dreamer. Dreamer comes out and they go nose to nose. They quickly come to blows and we get the bell. Taz throws Dreamer to floor right away and throws him into the rail and starts slamming his head into it. Chair to the back and into the rail again goes Dreamer. Taz throws him back in and charges Tommy getting toe hold and hip tossed. Taz hangs back and we slow things down a bit. They go back and forth early on but Tommy is clearly still beat up from the start of the match. Taz pulls up Dreamers shirt and we see that Tommy came into the match with taped ribs. Taz with a T-Bone. Alfonso screams into the camera that they knew about the injury. Taz works over the ribs with a few submissions and stomps. They go to the floor where Team Taz hold Dreamer on the rail so Taz can hit him with a chair. Dreamer comes back and nails Taz with a chair. Back in the ring Dreamer with a bulldog onto a chair. Tommy goes for a DDT onto the chair but Taz sweeps his legs out from under him and Dreamer hits the chair. Taz goes for a super belly to belly but Dreamer holds onto the buckle and Taz crashes to the mat. Dreamer with a top rope dive onto all of Team Taz on the floor. There’s like five or six. Tommy then leans a table on the bottom rope and baseball slides it all into Team Taz he baseball slides Alfonso. Taz comes from behind and hits a german suplex. Taz grabs a chair but the ref wanted to stop the damage to Dreamer takes it away. Urinagi on the ref and Taz props a table up in the corner. Taz belly to bellies Dreamer through the table. Taz sets up full nelson suplex but Dreamer goes low and then goes for a DDT. Taz reverses into a northern lights and then locks on the Tazmission. Beulah gets in the ring and begs for Taz to stop. Alfonso comes in and threatens Beulah with a chair. Terry Gordy comes to save her but the Eliminators follow him and give him Total Elimination. Brian Lee now hits the ring and puts Gordy in the Asiatic spike. Referee Paul Richards, “El Puerto Ricano” Pablo Marquez, Don E. Allen, Bad Crew all get total elimination. Bad Crew at the same time. Lee chokeslams Marquez over the top rope to the floor. Buh Buh Ray Dudley comes out and gets very little offense before Lee grabs and chokeslams him. Sign Guy Dudley tries to help out but the Eliminators both just jump up and kick him hard in the face and back of the head. Hack Meyers shows up and gets in a few shots before getting t-boned and hit with total elimination. Lee then puts him in the spike. The heels all pose in the ring over the carnage they left.

Sandman is in the ring with a dog collar on. He is pretty sad because he has no wife, no kid, no manager and worst of all no partner because TV Champion “The Franchise” Shane Douglas put the Pitbull in the hospital last night. Sandman says he does have his life though and that he is the King of Extreme and if World Champion Raven and Douglas want his life they can come get it. Out comes Raven, Lori and Tyler Fullington, Blue Meanie, Nova, Richards, Douglas and Francine. Meanie, Nova and Douglas get caned, Reven gets in the ring and with get a bell. I’ll let you know who’s in the match when I figure it out. Lori canes Sandman from behind and Raven hits a DDT for 2. Douglas wraps the chain from the dog collar around his fist and nails Sandman. I think we are watching…..

Double Dog Collar Match: World Champion Raven & TV Champion “The Franchise” Shane Douglas (w/Lori & Tyler Fullington, Blue Meanie, Nova, Richards, Douglas & Francine) vs. Sandman, ref Jim Molineaux
Raven puts on his side of the collar. Sandman is busted open. Douglas wraps the chain around Sandman’s face. Pitbull 1 comes to ringside as Douglas and Raven just beat down Sandman. They clothesline Sandman with the chain and then hang him over the top rope. Sandman pulls Raven by the chain out of the ring. Douglas follows and they beat on Sandman some more. Lori canes Sandman a bunch. Piledriver by Douglas but it’s not enough to put Sandman away. They post Sandman crotch first. Pitbull 2 hits the ring in a neck brace and he’s all over Douglas and Raven. Raven gets the loaded boot but misses. Pitbull 2 gets the boot and nails Raven. Douglas bails and Raven gets pinned in 15.16. After the match Meanie gets canned and Raven hides behind Tyler. A loud “cane your kid” chant from the fans. Tyler walks to the center of the ring and Sandman drops to his knees. Tyler reaches his hand out for the cane. Sandman hands it to him and he hits Sandman a few times and Raven attacks Sandman. Raven lays him out with a few cane shots.

Steel Cage Weapons Match: Tag Team Champions The Gangstas vs. Eliminators, ref John Finnegan
Gangstas for once don’t charge the ring to start the brawl. There are 4 guys in black hoods with weapons in each corner on the outside of the ring. A wrestler must call for a weapon and will have it thrown to them. The Eliminators try to sneak up behind on the outside of the ring but the Gangstas see them and attack first. Into the crowd they go. Saturn climbs to the top of the cage and dives to the floor onto all three guys!!!!! Into the ring Saturn again on the top of the cage and he comes off with a clothesline onto New Jack. Mustafa takes down Kronus then goes after Saturn. All four men bleeding. Saturn with a falcon arrow on Mustafa. He again goes to the top of the cage and comes off with a splash. New Jack gets a garbage can from one of the guys in the corner and jumps off the top rope and smashes it into Kronus’ head. Saturn off the top of the cage with an elbow onto Jack for 2. Pump handle fall away slam for 2 by Kronus. Saturn again jumps off the top but this time Jack throws a garbage can at him. New Jack comes off the top with a key board but gets drop kicked. Butterfly suplex by Mustafa onto Saturn. Kronus is completely covered in blood. New Jack calls for another weapon and the masked man climbs the cage to hand him a guitar. He hits Jack with the guitar and unmasks to reveal that he is Shane Douglas. Saturn AGAIN off the cage with a splash. Kronus holds Mustafa and Saturn comes off the cage ANOTHER time but Jack throws the garbage can at him again. Saturn goes to the tope of the cage and Jack again throws the garbage can him this time knocking him off the cage through a table to the floor. Running powerslam 187 chair combo and New Jack pins Kronus in 15.03. Saturn and Kronus again argue on the floor and get into each others faces. Douglas gets between them and throws up the triple threat signal to them and they calm down and leave.

My thoughts on the show…
I thought this show was really good. Usually the ECW shows that I really like have a good brawl or two and get balanced out with one or two solid wrestling matches. This show was all about the brawling. Spicolli had a nice “star building” reaction from the crowd and I’m looking forward to where they take him. Furnas KILLED Van Dam and I loved every second of it. For all the shit I talk about Van Dam and for how much I hate him I have to say he has been really solid so far since coming into ECW. It’s only a matter of time however before he spends every match doing nothing but pointing to himself and rolling around on the ground. The last two matches were some nice bloody battles although Saturn should have stopped jumping off the top of the cage after the 500th time as it lost all of its cool factor by then. A must see show here.
