After commercial we go to the Dark Patriot and JT Smith match that aired a few weeks. Patriot won the match by countout after throwing Smith out of the eagle’s nest to the floor down below and jumping onto him.

Back from commercial Gordon and brings us to what will be the only new match on tonights show.

“Hotstuff” Eddie Gilbert & Dark Patriot (w/ Paul E. Dangerously) vs. Glen Osbourne & JT Smith, ref Kevin Christian
Smith has his knee bandaged up and is using a crutch. Gilbert gets on the mic and runs down the fans and then talks about Smith’s injuries. Smith rips the mic from Gilbert and says he doesn’t back down from anybody and is ready to wrestle. Gilbert and Smith start the match. Smith out wrestles Gilbert to start. Gilbert and Patriot try to double team Smith but it backfires and Gilbert hits Patriot. They argue. Paul E. is able to calm them down. Gilbert attacks the knee of Smith. Paul E. distracts the ref and Patriot slams Smith’s knee into the ring post a bunch. Gilbert hits the knee with a chair behind the refs back. Smith gives up to a figure four in 5.27.

Back from break Gordon is joined by Eddie Gilbert. They don’t say much and we go to a rather lengthy highlights video package of the W*INGs promotion.

After commercial break with get the TV Title match from Super Summer Sizzler between Champion “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka and “Ironman” Tommy Cairo. Snuka got the win after interference from Paul E. Dangerously.

Back to Gordon and Gilbert in the studio. Gordon says that Gilbert has an open contract for UltarClash and in the coming weeks we will learn who his opponent will be. They hype the tapings coming up this weekend. Gilbert thanks Gordon for firing Stevie Wonderful and asks him to get rid of Jay Sulli also.

My thoughts on the show…

Skip it. They ran out of footage from the May tapings at this point so only had the one new match to show, it wasn’t any good.

Jay Sulli is in the ECW control room and he welcomes us to the show and runs down the card for tonight’s show. The ECW Tag Team Title Tournament starts tonight. Two first round matches will take place. The Koloffs take on the Head Hunters and the Sandman tags with Sal Bellomo to take on Richard Michaels and Tony Stetson. Don Muraco defends his Heavyweight Title and Jimmy Snuka defends his TV Title. Eddie Gilbert shows up and sits next to Sulli. Gilbert makes fun of Sulli. Gilbert bets Sulli $500 that he can walk outside and grab the first person he finds and he would replace Sulli. Gilbert grabs some guy in a tracksuit with no teeth. Gilbert gives the guy a script and has him introduce the first match.

Ivan and Vladimir Koloff are backstage and Ivan says they are going to find out how tough the Head Hunters are and they are on their way to the ECW Tag Team Titles.

Tag Team Title Tournament Round 1 Match: Ivan & Vladimir Koloff vs. W*ING Tag Team Champions The Head Hunters, ref John Finnegan
We are informed that if a match should end in a draw there will be a coin toss to determine the winner. The two teams attack each other before the bell and a wild brawl breaks out. In the ring Ivan is with one of the Hunters but he makes a tag to Vlad who hits a belly to belly suplex. Paul E. makes fun of Jay Sulli for calling it a belly to back. Ivan chokes with the chain from the apron behind the refs back and all four guys begin to fight again in the ring. The ref gets pushed by Ivan and calls for the bell at 2.51. Both teams are DQed so we will have a coin toss to declare a winner. The two teams continue to fight. Victor Quinones the manager of the Head Hunters in Japan comes to the ring to help get some order. The Koloffs win the coin toss and they start brawling again right away.

Heavyweight Champion “Magnificent” Don Muraco (w/ Freddie Gilbert) vs. Metal Maniac, ref Jim Molineaux
Tod Gordon introduces Muraco to the ring and interviews him. Muraco yells about all the big talent Gordon is bringing in to try and take the belt away from him. Gordon says next week Muraco will take on Tito Santana. We go to a backstage interview with Tito. Tito is coming after Muraco again. Muraco freaks out about Santana coming to try and take another title away from him. Maniac attacks from behind and we get the bell. Muraco quickly fights back with a powerslam and piledriver. Muraco throws Maniac to the floor and goes out after him. Muraco beats on Maniac on the floor a bit as the crowd chants “Tito”. Back in the ring Muraco with a DDT. Maniac tries to come back with a clothesline but Muraco shrugs it off and hits the tombstone for the win at 3.51.

Tag Team Title Tournament Round 1 Match: Richard Michaels & Tony “The Hitman” Stetson (w/ Hunter Q. Robbins III) vs. Sandman & Sal Bellomo, ref Jim Molineaux
Rockin Rebel is suspended so Stetson has found a new partner. Stetson starts of with Sandman. Sandman and Bellomo bounce Stetson around in their corner a bit. After 1 minute they cut away from the match from the match to show slips of Abdullah the Butcher from WWC. We come back to the match and Richards and Stetson make an illegal switch. Sandman is able to tag in Bellomo and he hits a drop kick. Both men tag out and Sandman has the advantage on Michaels. They collide heads on an irish whip. Sandman with a gordsbuster. Robbins distracts the ref and Stetson switches with Michaels but Bellomo also rolls Sandman out of the ring. Bellomo with a small package for the win. 3.29 of the match is shown.

Tod Gordon comes out to hype UltraClash. He announces Terry Funk and Stan Hansen versus “Hotstuff” Eddie Gilbert and Abdullah the Butcher. Stan Hansen comes out chases off Gordon. Hansen is ready for the tag match but he says right now he wants “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka and the TV Title.

Jimmy Snuka and Paul E. Dangerously are backstage. Snuka thinks Hansen just has a big mouth because he is scared. Snuka is ready to take care of business.

TV Champion “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka (w/ “Hotstuff” Eddie Gilbert) vs. Stan Hansen, ref John Finnegan
Snuka attacks Hansen from behind and our main event is underway. Hansen fights back and knocks Snuka to the floor. Hansen goes after Gilbert on the floor and Snuka sneaks up from behind. They fight back into and once again out of the ring. Back in again Hansen with the advantage. Hansen with a DDT but Snuka is able to get his foot on the rope. Hansen lands the lariat but Gilbert breaks up the pin causing a DQ in 3.42. Freddie Gilbert comes down but Hansen pulls his pants down and spanks him. Hansen on the mic and he says that even though he’s old and fat they are going to beat Gilbert and Abdullah.

My thoughts on the show…
A big name debut on today’s show with Stan Hansen. However nothing else was worth anything. Thumbs down on this.
