Another super short DDT event, but it has a title match so there is really no way to avoid reviewing it. If more of the show pops up later I will update the review, but for now this is what we have. The following two matches will be reviewed:

3/1/14 – DDT Extreme Championship: HARASHIMA vs. Danshoku Dino
3/2/14 – Michael Nakazawa and Tomomitsu Matsunaga vs. Zeus and The Bodyguard

Like the last DDT review I did, this won’t take long.

(c) HARASHIMA vs. Danshoku Dino

This match took place on March 1st, 2014 and is for the DDT Extreme Championship. It is a New York Style match. Joined in Progress, with HARASHIMA throwing Dino into the corner. Running boot by HARASHIMA and he puts Dino up on the top turnbuckle. HARASHIMA joins him and hits the superplex, he then goes out to the apron and hits a swandive body press. Cover, but the referee won’t count until HARASHIMA kisses Dino, but it gets a two count. Kicks to the arm by HARASHIMA, he gets Dino on his shoulders but Dino gets off with hits the Lip Lock. Dino goes for the Danshoku Driver but HARASHIMA blocks it and hits knees Dino in the face. HARASHIMA goes for the Somato but Dino ducks it and nails the Danshoku Driver. Cover (with a kiss of course), but it gets a two count. Dino drags HARASHIMA in front of the corner and takes his trunks off, he goes up to the top turnbuckle but HARASHIMA rolls out of the way of the moonsault attempt. HARASHIMA and Dino trade punches with Dino slapping HARASHIMA in the balls instead of doing elbows, high kick by HARASHIMA and he dropkicks Dino into the corner. Running double knee to the back by HARASHIMA and he hits a reverse hurricanrana. Somato by HARASHIMA, cover, but he forgets about the apparent kiss rule. HARASHIMA does it, but Dino rolls him over and gets the three count! Your winner and new champion: Danshoku Dino

Match Thoughts: I’m not sure what a New York Style match, or why HARASHIMA would pick a stipulation that requires a kiss to be done with the pin for it to count. I am guessing that somehow Dino got the right to choose the match stipulation. Anyway, I mean, obviously it is goofy as hell. It was clipped in half so we missed the beginning of the match. Uh I dunno, it is not really my thing although the surprising result seemed to excite the crowd anyway. I guess for Dino fans this may have been entertaining? Score: 3.5

Michael Nakazawa and Tomomitsu Matsunaga vs. Zeus and The Bodyguard

This match is Joined in Progress with Nakazawa going up to the top turnbuckle and hitting a tope onto The Bodyguard. Nakazawa goes for a backdrop suplex but The Bodyguard blocks it, clubs to the back by The Bodyguard, he goes off the ropes but Nakazawa elbows him. Powerslam by The Bodyguard, cover, but it gets a two count. Zeus comes in the ring, he picks up Nakazawa and goes for a suplex but Nakazawa blocks it. Matsunaga comes in the ring to help out, double Irish whip to Zeus, boot by Nakazawa and Matsunaga hits a lariat. Nakazawa and Matsunaga pick up Zeus but Zeus hits a double suplex. Zeus picks up both of his opponents but Nakazawa spits water into Zeus’s face and hits a victory roll for a two count. Kick to the head by Nakazawa, Nakazawa takes off his underwear but Zeus lariats him. Cover by Zeus, but it gets a two count. Zeus picks up Nakazawa as The Bodyguard comes in the ring, double Irish whip to Nakazawa and they hit a spear/lariat combination. Cover by Zeus but Matsunaga breaks it up. Zeus and The Bodyguard wait for Nakazawa to get up and they drop him with a double chokeslam. Cover by Zeus and he picks up the three count. Your winners: Zeus and The Bodyguard

Match Thoughts: Zeus and The Bodyguard are an impressive looking tag team, I will give them that. You don’t see a ton of muscle-head Japanese wrestlers, so seeing two on one team is pretty unique. Unfortunately this match was all clipped to hell so I can’t saw how their performance was as a whole. Zeus is a bit stiff (as in taking offense, not as in legitimately hurting his opponents), but it was too small of a sample size to really get a good opinion of them. Score: N/A

Final Thoughts:

Best Match: Michael Nakazawa and Tomomitsu Matsunaga vs. Zeus and The Bodyguard. Even clipped this was the better match. Maybe I am just jealous because Dino gets more action in the ring than I get outside of it. But the muscle guys are entertaining, I like big lumbering wrestlers that do things like double chokeslams.

MVP:  Zeus. They were hard to differentiate in this match, but Zeus had the most ring-time so he gets the nod as the MVP. Plus he got the pin, that has to be worth something, right?

Overall:  I’m not going to grade this one either, there was a third match shown but it is from an event that I already have, so no need to double dip. What was shown was pretty rough but it was less than ten minutes of wrestling so I can’t really judge it too harshly. This event was combined with a Big Japan event, which seems like an odd combination since the promotions aren’t similar at all. Obviously this would only be for DDT completists.

Grade: N/A
