Killer Kowalski defeated Johnny Valentine. The referee had accidentally been knocked down before Valentine tried to pin Kowalski, so there was no count. In the publicity for this match, Kowalski was listed as a claimant of the world title, which he had been since Buddy Rogers suffered a broken ankle in a match with Kowalski in Montreal 11/21. The NWA, however, was still recognizing Rogers.
