The show opens with a package looking at last week’s NXT Takeover II event, highlighting Neville costing Sami Zayn the NXT title at the last moment, among other things.
Titus O’Neil comes to the ring in a suit to cut a promo. He tells the crowd how lucky they are to be in the presence of a real WWE superstar, in which the audience responds with “We want Darren” chants. Titus said the name of the show will now be “N-X-T-I-T-U-S.” Sami Zayn interrupts him to a great reaction and “Ole” chants.
Zayn mocks Titus’ bark taunt and calls O’Neil a giant buffoon who cant win a match and gets beat up by bunnies. O’Neil threatens to give Zayn the beating of a liftime before NXT Champion Adrian Neville makes his way to the ring. Neville says that if anyone wants to come to NXT and disrespect the brand, he’ll be the one to defend it. Zayn takes exception to that and Tyson Kidd makes his way to the ring as well.
Kidd insults Zayn for being upset at Neville. Zayn says he had a moral issue with Neville winning the way he did, in which Neville reponds by saying that’s the reason Zayn will never be NXT champion. Titus O’Neil interrupts the conversation and calls them all losers. General Manager William Regal comes out and makes Titus O’Neil and Tyson Kidd vs. Sami Zayn and Adrian Neville.
A package featuring the introduction of Hideo Itami is shown, with The Ascension interrupting.
Emma vs. Charlotte
Emma makes her NXT return to a good reaction and “welcome back” chants. Charlotte brings the NXT title and taunts Emma with it, until Emma knocks it out of her hand. Charlotte takes the upperhand with a knee lift, and uses her rolling figure four headlock to control Emma. Charlotte is relentless and continues an extended beat down until Emma lands some forearms and a schoolboy pin for 2. With Emma in control, she lands the Emma sandwich and a see saw kick on the ropes before a flying body press from the top for another 2 count. This doesn’t last long, however, as Charlotte gets Natural Selection for the 3 count.
Hideo Itami vs. Justin Gabriel
Itami comes out to a stereotypical Japanese theme intro followed by an obvious ode to PRIDE FC. The crowd is really amped for this match. Justin Gabriel starts with a headlock that Itami can’t get out of, followed by a shoulder block. Itami finally reverses the momentum with a big kick that sends Gabriel reeling to the outside of the ring, but it’s short lived as Gabriel sweeps Itami’s feet from underneath him. Gabriel with a double underhook suplex, but goes for it again and is reversed by several strikes from Itami. Kicks galore from Itami, culminating in a springboard dropkick in which saw him lose his balance but still save it. Itami finishes Gabriel off with a double foot stomp from the top rope for the three count.
Right after the match, The Ascension interrupts Itami’s celebration and attack him. The two land the Fall of Man, which the announce team barely sells.
CJ Parker vs. Baron Corbin
The announce team notes that Parker asked for this re-match after Corbin destroyed him at NXT Takeover II. Parker lands a couple of punches, which was more offense than he got last week, but it does no good. Corbin lands his impressive finish, which he calls the End of Days. 3 count, and Corbin’s second victory over Parker.
Big Kass and Enzo Amore are at the Performance Center when Carmella shows up and tells them she was fired for what happened to the dog last week. She says she wants a job and blasts Enzo with a medicine ball and says Kass and Enzo have to help her.
Next week The Ascension will be utilizing their rematch clause and taking on Kalisto and Sin Cara for the NXT Tag Team Titles.
Tyson Kidd and Titus O’Neil vs. Adrian Neville and Sami Zayn
Kidd and Zayn get things started until Neville tags himself in and controls Kidd. Zayn tags in, body slams Kidd and uses Neville’s standing moonsault which garners “better than Neville” chants from the crowd. Neville tags in and answers with a standing corkscrew moonsault. Neville sends Kidd to the turnbuckle followed by a side headlock takedown. Kidd tries to fight his way out of it but can’t. Zayn tags in and Neville tries to do a dive to the outside until Zayn cuts him off and lands an Arabian Press before the commercial. Titus tags in as we come back from a commercial, and O’Neil muscles Zayn all around the ring with forearms, tosses and backbreakers. He boots Sami Zayn in the head before tagging back out to Tyson Kidd. Kidd’s offense consists of kicks, a choke and a reverse chinlock as he continues to work Zayn over. Neville is trying to get Zayn to make the tag, but Titus is tagged in first, and cuts Zayn off before taunting him. Titus goes go an abdominal stretch that Zayn works out of, but the persistent O’Neil blasts Zayn yet again to keep the advantage. Titus works Zayn over a little more before Kidd tags in, puts Zayn in the tree of woe and hits knees to Zayn’s chest. Kidd misses a big slingshot legdrop but drags Zayn back into the corner where again Titus O’Neil tags in and stops Zayn’s momentum dead in its tracks. They’re really working Zayn over. After another tag to Kidd, who hits an arm drag and a jumping heel kick, beore Titus tags back in and gets a leg drop. Finally Zayn gets an elbow on Titus and makes the hot tag to Neville, while O’Neil tags in Kidd. Neville gets several forearms and kicks followed by a big european uppercut. He hits a drop kick and standing star press, but Titus O’Neil interrupts the count. Zayn blasts O’Neil and knocks him to the apron. Neville goes for Red Arrow, but O’Neil pushes him off the top rope, and he lands on Kidd’s knees, who gets the pinfall victory.
Afterwards, Neville and Zayn tease dissention as they talk about the end of the match in the ring
