– We start off with a passionate speech from Triple H about Dusty Rhodes. The whole NXT roster is out to honor the “American Dream” with a ten bell salute.
– Hideo Itami appears for the first time since his injury last month. Greg whatshisface says that Itami will be back in a few months, and asks him about NXT’s popularity in Japan. He says the fans are excited to see the show on July 4, and he’s going to be there. He says he’s going to challenge the winner down the line.
Kevin Owens appears to a great reaction. He calls Itami delusional, but stutters, and says he sounds like Itami trying to speak English, which gets a big “OH NO YOU DIDN’T” reaction from the crowd. Kevin Owens says he didn’t attack Hideo Itami, because if he did, Itami wouldn’t be here. He says he’s going to tear off Itami’s other arm but Balor makes the save. Rhyno comes out and knocks Balor off the stage.
Enzo Amore & Big Cass (w/ Carmella) vs. Sylvester LeFort & Jason Jordan
Typical awesome promo from Enzo & Cass. A quick body press from Enzo gets a one count on Sylvester. However, Jordan is tagged in and scores a big spinebuster on Enzo. Lefort then locks on a headlock, but Enzo tosses him out of the ring and rolls up Jordan for a three.
Winners: Enzo & Cass via pinfall
– We see Samoa Joe’s post-match comments from last week. He says he’s not done with Owens.
Dana Brooke (w/ Emma) vs. Cassie
Dana Brooke takes Cassie down and pats her on the head, and Cassie returns the favor. Dana drops her head over the top rope and pummels the rookie. She them lands a body slam and locks on a hybrid armbar/leglock. Cassie scores with a kick, but Dana Brooke lands the Whiplash for the win.
Winner: Dana Brooke via pinfall
– Charlotte is backstage, and says she’s coming after Dana Brooke.
– We see part two of the Finn Balor mini-documentary. It’s awesome. Really, really great stuff.
– Bull Dempsey is shown struggling with his weight.
Hyped Bros vs. Angelo Dawkins & Sawyer Fulton
Rawley lands a series of shoulderblocks and tags out to Ryder, who hits a dropkick, only to tag back out. Hyped Bros are working well together, as Rawley lands Hammer Time before being dropped across the top turnbuckle. Ryder gets the hot tag and cleans house, beating Dawkins up badly with a dropkick and a Broski Boot.
Fulton breaks up the count, but Ryder gets double knees. Rawley and Ryder hit a combination spinebuster/second rope Rough Ryder for the win.
Winners: Hyped Bros via pinfall
– William Regal tells Eva Marie she’ll have to prove herself in the ring, and he’s going to give her that opportunity.
– Kevin Owens comes out for commentary.
Finn Balor vs. Rhyno
Rhyno dominates early and drives his shoulder into Balor in the corner before locking on a bear hug. Balor looks like he’s working out of it but gets dropped to the mat as we go to our final commercial break.
We come back and see Balor fighting back, scoring with a big front dropkick for two. Rhyno has none of it, and hits a belly-to-belly suplex for two. Rhyno attacks the ribs of Balor, but is only able to get a two count off of the attack. Balor scores a Pele kick, but Rhyno isn’t going down.
Balor goes to the top rope and Owens comes to the ring. Rhyno takes advantage with a belly-to-belly, but Balor kicks out. Balor takes out Owens, hits a SlingBlade on Rhyno, and finishes him off with the double foot stomp for the win.
Winner: Finn Balor via pinfall
– Owens attacks Balor immediately after the match. Rhyno joins in on the attack, but Samoa Joe makes the save to close the show.
