According to the Wrestling Observer, WWE Developmental coach Billy Gunn, real name Kip Sopp, has been fired by the WWE after failing a test for performance enhancing drugs at a powerlifting competition in Florida on July 25th.

His drug test at the competition came up with a 37-1 testosterone/epitestosterone ratio, above the 4-1 limit, and he was suspended from powerlifting for 4 years. We’ll have more on this situation throughout the day.

The 52-year old Sopp had been working as a trainer at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando. He’s been seen on WWE Network’s Breaking Ground program, in addition to this year’s season of Tough Enough. Last week, Gunn served as a special guest referee during an NXT live event.

According to the Observer, the WWE wasn’t even aware of him competing as a powerlifter, or the fact that he had a suspension levied against him.
