Regarding CM Punk’s comments about Ryback on the first podcast with Colt Cabana, there was a feeling within WWE that the comments were unprofessional and cheap. It was said that nobody believed Ryback really kicked Punk as hard as he could or intentionally broke Punk’s ribs.

On a related note, it was said that almost nobody within WWE had any sympathy for Punk’s situation with his various injuries. The feeling was that every top guy on the WWE roster that works a full schedule has a litany of injuries.

Just one day after CM Punk rocked the wrestling and MMA worlds with his announcement he’d be signing with the UFC, his former employer commented on his new career move.

WWE ran a short article that only said “WWE wishes Phil Brooks (aka CM Punk) the best of luck in his newest endeavor.” The article also linked to information regarding the WWE Network. We noted earlier that last week CM Punk’s Facebook page was deleted by WWE.

This comes after Vince McMahon appeared on Stone Cold Steve Austin’s podcast last Monday night and said that he’d like to have a working relationship with Punk in the future. While Punk didn’t completely shut the door on his return at time during his interview with Colt Cabana, he said last night on the UFC 181 broadcast that his “professional wrestling days are over.”

CM Punk will join the likes of Brock Lesnar, Ken Shamrock, Ludvig Borga, Dan Severn, and Ron Waterman as talents who have performed in both the WWE and UFC. Former ECW Champion Bobby Lashley is also currently contracted to Viacom’s Bellator MMA brand.
