Regarding TNA’s ongoing TV negotiations, networks are leery on the TNA product not just because it’s pro wrestling but because it has the negative stigma of being a product that Spike TV dropped, even when the ratings weren’t that bad.
It was said that networks are wondering what is the catch and why would Spike drop a program that was drawing between 1 million and 1.4 million viewers each week. The Wrestling Observer noted that word from the TV industry is that Spike is dropping TNA because they don’t have the confidence in TNA’s leadership to grow the company.
In addition to that, numbers had been declining and the whole Vince Russo debacle was once again brought up this week. Spike denies the Russo issue publicly but it’s no secret that Russo was a big part in Spike finalizing their decision.
