Mark Hunt did something Junior dos Santos, Frank Mir, Fabricio Werdum and many others could not Saturday at UFC Fight Night 52: finish Roy Nelson inside the Octagon. Hunt delivered a thunderous shot that floored “Big Country” in the second round of their main event fight.
The win got Hunt back on track after a 2013 that featured a loss to dos Santos and a draw with Antonio Silva. For Nelson, the defeat was his third in his last four fights overall.
Myles Jury earned a co-main event win when he stopped Takanori Gomi in the first, while Yoshihiro Akiyama and Miesha Tate each picked up decision wins. The entire card streamed on UFC Fight Pass from Saitama, Japan.
Hunt, Johnny Case, Kyung Ho Kang and Michinori Tanaka were all given bonuses and an additional $50,000. Complete results can be found below:
