Randy Orton was scheduled to work tonight’s WWE live event at the Nassau Coliseum on Long Island but it was announced at the start of the show that he would not be appearing. Orton returned from filming WWE Studios’ The Condemned 2 at last night’s live event from Madison Square Garden and defeated Kane. He also did a run-in during the main event of the show.

A wrestling fan at tonight’s Long Island event noted that the announcement stated that Orton was injured at last night’s WWE live event at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Orton was scheduled to team with Cena to face Kane and Rollins at tonight’s show.

Orton was backstage at tonight’s live event and was wearing his gear, so it appears that whatever injury he suffered was discovered right before the show.

In a follow up to the post above, Randy Orton ended up appearing at the end of tonight’s WWE live event on Long Island to help John Cena win the main event over Seth Rollins. Orton did not wrestle a match tonight but did do the run-in at the end of the show. A fan in attendance noted that Orton received the biggest pop of the night. Below is a photo from Twitter:
