There was speculation among some of the NXT regulars last weekend that Scott Dawson and Bull Dempsey may have been punished for comments made on Twitter. Bull, who has won most of his matches, lost three straight “upsets” to Angelo Dawkins. Dawson, who usually teams with partner Dash Wilder, was off the events altogether.
That speculation came after Dawson tweeted a link to the WWE.com article on Fergal Devitt, Kenta, Adrian Neville, Sami Zayn and Kevin Steen. Dawson wrote the following with the link: “‘Leaders of the new school’…HA!”
Dempsey replied to Dawson’s tweet with the following:
“that’s funny. I don’t see our faces…”
Dawson replied to Dempsey with this:
“to be fair, our faces ain’t pretty enough. #RealMen #CaptainRoughNeck”
It turns out that the two did not have heat and Dawson was off those events, and Thursday’s TV tapings, due to an injury. Dawson wrote to a fan that he had a bum knee and should be 100% by Monday. Dawson’s injury has let Wilder work more singles matches, including a match against Tyson Kidd for the November 6th episode.
