– The show opens with a video package highlighting the Hideo Itami/Ascension feud, as well as the debut of Finn Balor last week.
– Balor comes out to an awesome reaction from the crowd. He does his usual entrance, but it doesn’t have the same feel without the paint he typically wears. Regardless, the fans love him already. He says he’s here because he’s the future.
Tyson Kidd’s music cuts him off and Kidd enters with his wife Natalya. Kidd says nobody cares about Balor, and he clearly lacks respect.
Justin Gabriel comes out and says Kidd is right. He says that every week a new international sensation debuts, but they have to get through Kidd and Gabriel first. They look poised to attack Balor, but Itami’s theme hits and he makes the save. Kidd and Gabriel retreat.
The ring announcer says that William Regal has channeled the spirit of Teddy Long and booked a tag team match.
Finn Balor & Hideo Itami vs. Tyson Kidd & Justin Gabriel (w/ Natalya)
Itami and Kidd start, but tags are quickly made to Balor and Gabriel, and Balor sends Gabriel reeling with a dropkick. He then threatens Gabriel’s refuge by flipping over the top rope on to Kidd and Gabriel before the commercial. Coming back from the break Itami is working Gabriel over before Balor is tagged in and continues the beating. Balor avoids a splash in the corner by hopping the ropes and booting Kidd, but gets dropkicked by Gabriel. Balor is being counted out and Gabriel rolls him back in for a two count. He switches to a full nelson, but it is escaped and he settles for a pair of kicks, the second of which was a double team kick with Kidd. Kidd is fired up as he beats down Balor in the corner with punches, stomps and chokes. He’s warned by the ref so he snapmares Balor to the middle of the ring and applies a chinlock. Balor tries to break out but he ends up in Kidd’s corner, who tags Gabriel. Gabriel hits the ring and lands a suplex, then rolls into a double underhook lock before tagging out. Balor hits a Pele kick out of nowhere before finally tagging Itami. Itami hits the ring and clobbers Kidd with a series of kicks, then cuts off Gabriel who made a blind tag and tried a springboard of the top. A tag back out to Balor, and the two land a couple of dropkicks in the corner. Balor comes off the top with his double foot stomp for the win.

– Zayn is being interviewed backstage. He says Neville has been a great champion, but tonight will unfold exactly how it’s supposed to.
Alexa Bliss vs. Sasha Banks (w/ Becky Lynch)
Sasha Banks immediately goes after Bliss, and knocks Bliss to the mat and follows with her running slap. She applies the bow and arrow backbreaker. Bliss counters it for a two count and lands some punches and a running headscissors, the a running sunset bomb in the corner for two. Banks kicks out and applies the Bank Statement. That’s all for bliss.

Banks cuts a promo and says Charlotte has what she wants. She incorrectly refers to the NXT Diva’s title as the “NXT Woman’s Title.” Yes, woman’s title, not women’s.
– Adrian Neville is backstage and says that Sami Zayn can’t win the big one.
Lucha Dragons vs. Buddy Murphy and Wesley Blake
Blake and Murphy are getting difficult to tell apart. Kalisto hits a nice lucha armdrag on Blake who tags out to Murphy. Buddy hits a big overhead suplex and tags back out to Blake. Blake and Murphy make quick tags and land strikes to Kalisto. Before locking on an arm hold. Wesley Blake applies a modified surfboard and Murphy comes off the top with knees. Shortly after Kalisto makes the hot tag to Sin Cara, who takes out Murphy and Blake with a running headscissors and a back elbow. Blake accidentally throws Cara into Murphy, then Kalisto does an insane flip and lands on Murphy outside. Cara rolls up Blake, then hits a Swanton for the win.

– The Vaudevillains cut a promo about the Lucha Dragons, saying they’ll take the NXT Tag Team Titles soon.

Sami Zayn vs. Adrian Neville (c)
Neville starts off with an arm ringer, but Zayn flips out and drags Neville to the mat. They lock up again and Zayn puts on a headlock, but Zayn quickly arm drags his way out of that too. Zayn then dodges a dropkick and Neville exits the ring. Zayn opens the rope for Neville, but Adrian flips over the top instead. Neville hits his big spin kick series before the commercial break. Back from the break Neville is in control after a nearfall. A chop in the corner sends Zayn to the mat, then a running body block does the same. Neville throws on a grounded headlock and holds it for a while. The crowd is trying to get Zayn back into the match, but Neville won’t relent. Neville hits the ropes and eats a big punch from Zayn, but fires back with a forearm. Zayn comes back with another punch and clotheslines Neville out before going over the top with his somersault tope. Back in the ring Zayn eats knees on a flying cross body, but Neville only gets two on a standing star press. Neville sets up for a powerbomb but Zayn reverses and ends up with Neville on his shoulders, then spins him around into a sitdown powerbomb for two. When the two are back up Neville lands a couple more kicks, but Zayn connects with two German Suplexes, followed by a release half nelson suplex for two! Neville got turned inside out. Zayn sets up for the Helluva Kick, but gets a boot of his own. Neville rolls Zayn up but only gets two. Neville rolls out of the way of Red Arrow, and Neville holds his knee. Zayn wants to hit the Helluva Kick but Neville falls down. The ref holds up the X signal and Neville rolls Zayn up with a small package for the victory. Zayn is in total disbelief. Fantastic match.

After the match Zayn sits in the ring speechless as Neville is checked on by referees and trainers.
