Recently on The Ross Report, ‘Good Ol’ JR’ Jim Ross interviewed WWE Hall Of Famer, ‘Hacksaw’ Jim Duggan. During the show, Duggan talked about his long history with The Rock’s family and he admitted that he doubted whether Daniel Bryan would make it in WWE.
According to Duggan, he worked with The Rock’s grandfather, Peter Maivia, The Rock’s father, Rocky Johnson, and he would love the opportunity to work with The Rock.
“I went up [to New York] and I worked with Vince [McMahon], Sr. a little bit and they sent me to Hawaii where I worked for Maivia. So I said I worked with The Rock’s grandfather, I worked with The Rock’s father, and I may get The Rock at WrestleMania! Yeah right! Not a chance in hell!”
Although Duggan was joking about going one-on-one with ‘The Great One’ at WrestleMania, Duggan said that he likes to tell kids that anything is possible and that if Bryan can make it, anyone can.
“That’s what I tell kids. There’s a guy who had the desire and heart. When I first met him, I said, ‘I don’t think he’s going to make it.’ But he worked hard, had the heart, the desire, and the drive. And he became a great wrestler, so I say, ‘chase your dreams because you never know.'” Duggan continued, “every once in a while, that brass ring, you grab it.”
In addition to these topics, Duggan talked about his patriotic gimmick, Roman Reigns being pushed too hard, and more.
