It was announced by press release that The Sandman will face former two-time heavyweight boxing champion Tim Witherspoon in a five-round match for the inaugural World Xtreme Entertainment title. The bout will include former Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Hollis Thomas acting as a celebrity referee for the bout.
The event is being promoted by Damon Feldman, best known for his involvement in celebrity boxing events. A press conference for the show is being held on Thursday in Philadelphia; the press release noted that “Hollywood actors and athletes” are involved with the company and that the WXE show will include a “tag-team boxing match” and an “Xtreme Battling Babes title match.”
