WWE stars Dolph Ziggler and The Miz were interviewed by CBS Cleveland entertainment reporter Chris Van Vliet prior to “WWE Night” at the Cleveland Cavaliers’s NBA game Wednesday night.
Ziggler notably said he is scheduled to be at the Royal Rumble PPV on Sunday to have his concussion recovery evaluated.
“I wish I had some answer for you,” Ziggler said on whether he will be in the Rumble match. “I’ve gone through a couple different tests. They’ve all been coming back very positively, which is I’m healing very well. Sunday, I will be there to get checked out.” Miz chimed in: “So, it could happen.”
Overall, Ziggler said he’s progressing toward returning to the ring. “I’m actually feeling pretty good. I’ve had a couple weeks to rest and not fall down,” Ziggler said. “I’m back in the gym, feeling good, really looking forward to getting back in the ring real soon.”
Also of note from the interview is Miz and Ziggler said they want to see Ultimate Warrior wrestle one more match, but essentially just do the routine of music, run to the ring, three clotheslines, splash, pin, and leave. Miz, who grew up a Warrior fan, half-seriously volunteered to be the guy to take the fall just for it to happen.
Ziggler added, “All he has to do is run down. I go, ‘I’ll get clotheslined. He’ll get clotheslined.'” Miz chimed in: “I’ll do it! Sign me up!” Ziggler added: “Ten seconds. The place would blow the roof off.”
