Recently, several news sites have announced that Davey Richard & Eddie Edwards aren’t expected back at the next set of NXT tapings. Early reports claimed that Triple H opted not to sign them to deals due to their size, or lack thereof. Supposedly Mr. H decided that the WWE has enough smaller talent that “can go”, and now wants to focus on signing larger individuals. Now, further information has come to light in regards to their not being invited back.
Talented or not, it’s been reported that the pair of former ROH superstars upset Triple H during their recent match in NXT. It was Richards & Edwards teaming up to take on NXT’s “The Ascension” of Konnor & Viktor (Conor O’Brian & Rick Victor). After a spot that ended with Richards landing awkwardly on his head, Triple H reportedly told the referee to give word to end the match. However, Richards & Edwards didn’t “take it home” immediately and the match continued a while longer. Many now feel this played a part in HHH’s decision.
Several inside WWE not only pushed for the duo to be signed, but felt the two should be brought up to the main roster immediately as part of the youth movement. Suffice to say, Triple H ultimately decided against it.
