– New Minnesota Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota is said to be the front-runner for WrestleMania 33 in 2017. The stadium, which opens in 2016, would hold around 63,000 for a WrestleMania event and has a retractable roof so the cold weather wouldn’t be an issue. Minneapolis is not considered to be a lock a other cities are in the running, including Orlando and Philadelphia.

– We noted over WrestleMania 31 weekend that MMA fighter Phil Baroni claimed on Twitter that he was headed to San Jose and would be signing a deal with WWE after receiving an offer from Gerald Brisco. WWE officials say there is no truth to Baroni’s claims.

– As noted, WWE Hall of Famer Howard Finkel celebrated 35 years with the company on Wednesday. Joey Styles revealed on Twitter that the WWE Digital Media and Social Media teams had a celebration for The Fink at WWE headquarters in Stamford.

– Vince Russo is now in the Fantasy Baseball business. He has a new “Who’s On First: Fantasy Baseball” podcast at this link. His first guest is Pat Kenney, formerly known as Simon Diamond. – Some of the WWE talents are taking a few days for vacation this weekend as there are no live events scheduled. The main roster has off until Monday’s RAW in Austin and Tuesday’s tapings in Dallas. After that, they will head out to Europe on Wednesday for the post-WrestleMania tour. There are NXT live events tonight, Friday and Saturday in Tampa, Palatka and Orlando.

– There were reports a few months back that Goldust would be transitioning from an active WWE competitor to an agent role or possibly a trainer at NXT. Goldust denied those rumors but now it looks like he could be preparing for that transition or perhaps he’s just making a general comment about working with NXT talents in the future. He wrote the following on Wednesday:

Bones be sore. Body tired.
